Ics. file for iPhone

I have a program (filemaker) that generate  an ICS file. This file is put on to my ftp server.
The file work fine on my MAcbook Air, my iMac and my Mac mini. But.... unfortunately not on my iPad and iPhone.
Is this on server issue or a leak on the iPhone/iPad?
Does anyone has a suggestion to get this running on the iPhone and iPad?
Thanks, Nico

I guess you should just make a list (though please not another list on here of what's missing that you care about, and decide if you can live without them. For me, I can, but it's up to you.
It also might help to try out someone's Treo or whatever else you would be getting. I found with the original iPod that I returned it and then bought another brand, and the experience was so inferior I returned that and bought the iPod again - forget the price!
Sorry you're not thrilled.

  • How do I find my ics files for iCal calendars in Lion?

The migration from mobileme to iCloud destroyed my home calendar.  I'm trying to restore.
The files in /library/calendar have funny names that don't map to home.ics or work.ics.
Where are the local copies of .ics files and how can I restore them in iCal?

    Hi
The .ics files for the different calendars are in "/Users/<username>/Library/Calendars/<ID>.calendar"
In every "<ID>.calendar" directory you find a "Info.plist" file that contains the name of the calendar. You can quick look the Info.plist file to see the name of the calendar.

  • Where are the backup files for iPhone stored on windows 7?

Can't find backup files for iPhone on pc using windows 7. Other posts list a path but the folders listed do not show up on my pc. Lost several file entries when updating to ios5. Files that were shown dated from an older backup.

As an addendum, if I need to, and hopefully won't, unless I switch computers, how can I revert from a copy of a different backup?  Thanks. :-)

  • All backup/sync files for Iphone lost on old PC, anyway to sync with new PC without losing music, photos, contacts and texts?

All backup/sync files for Iphone lost on old PC, anyway to sync with new PC without losing music, photos, contacts and texts?

Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your iphone, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will save data, pictures and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your device got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.
    Restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
Apps can be downloaded again for free, in the US music as well. Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • How to open a .ics file in iphone 5s?

Is .ics file supported by iphone 5s?

Photoshop menu File>Open select the CR2 file.  If you have a resent canon you may need CS6 or newer only they support ACR 8.6 beta with RAW support for the latest cameras. If you have an older version of Photoshop you may need to create Adobe DNG file for you CS2 file using Adobe DNG converter and process the DNG files with you Photoshop versions older ACR support.

  • Can't open shared .ics file with iPhone

I am trying to sync my iPhone calendars with the calendar on my PC that is in .ics format.  The .ics file is located on a home server that allows both me and my wife to see each other’s calendars and its been working great.  Now, I want to be able to see my calendar from my iPhone 4 (with OS 5.1.1) .. and I’ve tried setting it up with:  settings --> mail, contacts, calendars --> add account --> other --> add subscribed Calendar.
With every possible config I can think of, I get the same response: "Calendar Subscription -- Unable to verify account information"
For server name, I’ve tried actual servername, ip address, etc; we do have security on the server but I put in the account name and password … ‘nuthin! “Unable to verify …”
Through the phone's browser, I am able to open up the folder on our server and see the.ics file. The path is xxxx.homeserver.com/webcal/nat_calendar.ics. I've tried sending an invite to myself, opening it in the phone, clicking on the link and I get this error: Cannot Subscribe: Could not subscribe to the calendar "nat_calendar.ics from "myservername".
Seems simple, what am I missing here.
    Any ideas?

OK ... so not too many others have had this issue -- but for those in the future, here's how to solve it.  Go to this brilliant post by Joe Bradford:  essentially my problem as was his in part --  was caused by having the wrong MIME type in IIS (my webserver).  By going into the web server and changing the MIME type from application/octet-stream to text/calendar fixes the problem and the iPhone can now subscribe to the Outlook-generated calendar file (.ics).
Thankfully, I did not have the additional problem of an errant Byte Order Mark in the hexidecimal structure of the file which Joe also had to surgically remove (see issue 2 in post above).
(Given this was a cross platform issue -- Apple and MSFT -- I have to put this one at the feet of Apple for not coding the iPhone to open a webDAV (.ics) calendar file regardless of its MIME type ...)

  • How to export .ics file from iphone

My iphone calendars are a mess. A few years ago I set up google calendar. It broke. The data from that calendar is trapped on my iphone. I want to export it. Icloud and google calendar don't work for my situation.
Instead, I need to export a .ics file. I'm on mac. Is there any software that lets me do this? I'm prepared to pay. I want to ideally:
    1. Extract all my calendars
    2. Import them into ical
    3. Merge them into one calendar

I don't think that option exists in iTunes anymore. There is no info/contacts tab. I looked through all the options and saw no calendar sync. I think apple wants to do it through iCloud. And iCloud doens't work for google calendar.
Edit: Confirmed, they removed the info tab in Mavericks: http://www.macworld.com/article/2057971/sync-contacts-and-calendars-with-your-ip hone-via-itunes-not-in-mavericks-you-dont.html
So none of the official apple methods work. What I really need is third party software that exports ics.

  • Missing "dtend" entries on .ics files for a published calendar

From the top... I am using iCal Version 2.0.5 (1069), Mac OS X 10.4.10, and The Missing Sync for Palm OS v6.0.1; also the MarkSpace Events and Tasks conduits to sync my Palm with iCal via iSync.
My goal is to publish a grouped calendar to icalx.com (which I've used for years).
When I publish the calendar, everything appears to transfer fine, and I can see the published calendars on icalx.com.
HOWEVER, most events in the graphical views (such as day or week) appear to have lost their end times, and thus stretch to 11:59 PM that day (which would be the default).
I have examined the .ics file that icalx.com is receiving from my local iCal app, and it appears that on many of the events there is no entry for DTEND (the date and time when an event ends). There is an entry for DTSTART. I experimented with changing the end time for an event in iCal, and then refreshing the published calendar. The result is that DTEND is now defined, and the event shows up properly. Simply entering the same event ending time in the end time field does not result in a proper ending time on the icalx.com calendar. Changing the end time in iCal by dragging the lower boundary of the event box DOES modify the time properly on the icalx.com calendar.
What is perplexing is that the proper start and end times ARE shown in iCal, and on my Palm.
Has this kind of behavior been seen by others? Any hints on how to correct it, or where to start?
    Thanks everyone for your help.

OK, previously I went to the online version and clicked on the "Download" link in the left column, but I did not know if I re-published from the downloaded calender, would it replace/over-write the existing calendar or create a new.1.ics file.
I think I had tried this before, and the version I was updating, did not seem to update the version others had subscribed to, even though, I thought, I had re-published the same calendar.
Anyway, I have tested the "new" re-published calendars and they seem to be updating for the subscribers too.
Is there a way to make sure that I don't have any orphaned calendars? Some of the calendars have changed names and I was wondering if I am able to what is exactly sitting on my ME account. I can't find any of the calendars when I log into the account.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Gary

  • Problem keeping resource files for iPhone/iPad builds in sync

I recently created a new target for iPad by upgrading my target for iPhone, which seemed to work fine. However, since then I have had problems when I make changes to the plist files that I have grouped under Resources.
When I upgraded the target, it created a new folder for iPad resources called Resources-iPad. This only contained the nib files -all the other plist files I have containing data are still in the Resources folder.
When I added a new plist file to Resources and try to load it using the bundle path, it gives me different paths for the iPhone/iPad versions, in .../Application Support/iPone Simulator/4.2/Application/...
However, the path of the file I am trying to load is of the form myApp./MyFile.plist, and I can't seem to open the app in the bundle path directory in Finder.
I've tried things like making clean, etc. Are there any steps you need to take to keep the resource files of the iPad target in sync with the iPhone one once it has been created?

I created the new target using Xcode>Project>UpgradeCurrentTargetForIpad. This created another folder under .../Application Support/iPhone Simulator/4.2/Application/... with a different serial number. The new folder contains a new app, myApp-Upgraded, which corresponds to the bundle path it will use when this target is run.
I presume it's due to the file path existing in the original app, but not in the upgraded one. The file will be found when the original target is run, either on the device or the simulator, but not when the upgraded target is run on either, but I don't know how to make the upgraded target reference the correct resources.

  • Crash Reporter files for iphone

Does anyone know if apple acually uses these files when you sync your phone and prompted to to send? I noticed that im accumulating many of these files from apps crashing or safari crashing.
    thanks

    Sure they do.
I was experiencing a problem with my first generation iPhone and I reported what I thought was a bug to someone I know that works for Apple. He asked me to forward him my iPhone crash reports as an email attachment which were analyzed by an engineer. Although what I reported was not being reproduced during normal use by an Apple employee, my crash reports proved that it was/is a problem or bug that needs to be addressed.

  • Splitting PDF files for iPhone

Is there any way to split large, protected pdf files to work with Quickoffice on the iPhone? Quickoffice has no "go to" page function making it very difficult to read a large document. I don't want to change anything in the file, just put the file into bite size pieces.
    Thanks

I've done this using a program called PDFKey Pro. It's a paid app, though you may also find free alternatives.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ishita

    hello,
it is not officially supported. however, it can be done when you write your own makefile. how to call the compiler and necessary flags and so on see the "build results" output of xcode. it's like
    /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/gcc-4.0 -x objective-c -arch i386
and so on. after you created the object files you create the library with the archive tool, like
    ar -crv libwhatever.a Dada.o Bubu.o AnotherOne.o
