ICSS developments

Can somebody share his/her experience in developing applications within CRM ICSS/Self Service?
I would like to know if the skills/techniques required are similar to those needed for Internet Sales Application developments.
Another question is whether the Internet Sales Extension Guide (which can be found on SAP Service/Inst guides) is a valid reference document for ICSS extensions.
Finally, has anybody come across a specific guide/cookbook to ICSS application developments?

It is quite a while since you posted this message in the SDN. Nevertheless, I was wondering if you've achieved some developing experiences in this area (ICSS).
I'm trying to add a new field within the "New Service Ticket" page which allows users to enter a new service ticket. This new field would allow users to enter the category type of the service ticket. The category of a service ticket is stored in the table CRMD_ACTIVITY_H (field CATEGORY).
There are only three different category types and their values will not be modified. I dont need to get any additional data from the backend (CRM), but I need to write the category type within the given table as the user creates a new Service Ticket (also called Service Request).
Do you have any idea, advises, examples or references?

Let me explain a little bit more. BTW I am not even sure if this is right way to do, however it does seem like a plausible idea so far:
I have to provide a single interface to a data access object that a client application may use to access data.
The data can be stored in legacy or relational. I understand that JCA may help here but I am restricted from
going that route for a number of reasons.
The legacy data at the moment is accessed through MQ Series, while the most natural way to access RDBMS obviously is JDBC (barring any new CCI developments). I want to build the datasources and register them
with a JNDI service such that depending on the route to take (MQ or JDBC) the correct datasource is obtained.
The JDBC data source will be the one created by probably the app server vendor, while the MQ datasource
will be the one that I would have implemented. I will then have to wrap all the nasty code of MQ Series into a
JDBC implementation (MyDriver, MyConnection, MyCallableStatement, MyResultSet etc).
In a few years, when most (or all) of the legacy would have been converted to RDBMS, all (if there was an
understatement, this is it) I would have to do is switch the datasources (or actually remove the MQ one) and
without changing the interface, clients will start getting data from RDBMS.
Easier said than done, and I realize that, but the idea seems interesting.
What do you think ?

Unable to see the values from the FM in the ICSS application

Hi Gurus,
I am trying to call a custom function module in the ICSS application but it's not returning me any values in the application whereas it's showing values in the GUI for the same input.
One more strange thing is when we are hardcoding the values in the output table of this FM then i am able to see the values in the front end application.
I am clueless as what could be the reason.
Please help me.

Hi Saurabh,
This is really a strange problem as you said.
May be your fm is getting called more than once and in the second call there is no input data for the
fm and that's why its returning blank and your business objects are getting overwritten with blank values but when you are hardcoding you are getting the data.
Can you please debug and see if your fm is being called twice.
Instead of hardcoding data to output tables, check once by hardcoding input to java backend object
while calling the fm.

[ICSS B2B] Problem when creating a service request due to language

Hi everyone.
We have a web portal based on icss_b2b wich is linked with our backend (CRM).
On the web portal, we should be able to create service requests and it works fine when we are using english.
But if we log using german language, when we try to create a service request we have an error and creation ins't done.
Do we need do to do any configuration in the xcm ? Crm ? to allow to create service request in a new language ?

We are facing the same problem, were you able to solve this?
Our Portal takes the language from the browser but we only want to allow people access to ICSS in French and English.
Example:
If browser language = French --> French ICSS
If browser language = English --> English ICSS
If browser language = Dutch --> English ICSS (English = default language)

In the transport organizer (<b>SE10</b>) you can create a workbench request of the following type: <b>Relocation of objects with package change</b>
That's the documentation of this request type:
Select relocation of objects with package change
    Relocations of objects with a package change are transports with which
    o   you change the original location of the objects entered and
    o   reassign the objects to an appropriate new package.
Use
    The package change means that you can automatically adjust the transport
    attributes of the objects to the new development system. This means that
    you edit the objects immediately after they have been imported into the
    target system.
I have not yet used this kind of request but with some playing around you should easily find out how it works. I am sure this is (one of the possible) solutions to your problem.

How to find out which custom developments exist?

Hi there,
I have a question regarding custom developments:
Is there a fast way to find out which custom developments exist in a SAP system?
My approach would be to check the transactions SE38, SE37 and so on and search for objects starting with Y and Z. Does anybody know a more convenient way to do this analyzes?

ICSS: authorization in SAP CRM 7.0

Is it possible to restrict via authorization acces to diffrent types of transaction in ICSS in SAP CRM 7.0? For example some clients can have acces to complaints, some to service request and some for both.

Of course, you can. If you are creating the Z: roles for SAP_CRM_ECO_ISE_WU_B2B, then in this role, in the CRM Component, there is an authorization object called CRM_ORD_PR and a field name PR_TYPE. You can go an change the individual users with access to different transaction types or create Z: object or Z:role for each group as you wish. Use the field name ACTVT to control the access to the transaction type.
Please note, there may still be some discrepancies in the search selection in the ICSS. Though you may want to restrict the user to not to access "Complaints", the restriction may work at the transaction level, but not at the search level. You may still see "Complaint" object in the Search dropdown list. I am not sure if SAP has covered all the features of ICSS to abide by this role.

Issue in the user interface of ICSS application

Hi Experts,
Please find the below description of the issue.
Ours is a migration project of ICSS application from one landscape to another landscape. Both the landscapes are in CRM 7.0 with the same patch levels.
For this migration we have copied the existing track A to the new track B and mapped to the new CRM 7.0 B system.
The XCM setting has maintained in the new B system exactly the same way like the A system
All the related backend code like FMs, Data Dictionary objects etc in CRM 7.0 A system has been moved to the CRM 7.0 B System.
   After this when we tried to run the application B, we are not seeing the same user interface like in application A.
   We are seeing only black font with white background. The color combination, fonts, styles etc like in application A are not visible in application B.
There are no CSS files in the XCM settings in A system. So I have also not maintained in B system.
We have not done any changes in the track. So we have not deployed the application.
I have created the projects for both the tracks A and B and compared the code manually. Everything is same.
Question:
   Please let me know what needs to be done additionally to get the same user interface.
   Is Shopadmin settings has to be maintained. Is this mandatory.

I would recommend that you go ahead and install the Chinese fonts to your OS (if you have not already), and develop your user interface using the new font. This application should have no problem on any other machine with the Chinese font enabled.

Management and maintanence of 2008r2 developments with 2012 client tools

I need to manage and maintane sql server 2008r2 developments like databases,ssis packages,ssrs reports,ssas native cubes
and at the same time start developping in 2012 tools for 2012 servers with thier own version of client tools.
Questions:
Can 2008r2 and 2012 client tools co-exist on the same development machine?
Are there any known issues with development of any of the sql server 2008r2 components after instalation of the 2012 client components?
I guess it is not possible to uninstall the 2008r2 client tools alltogther because managing 2008r2 developments from within 2012 client tools would automatically upgrade them to 2012 version (as was the case with the 2005-2008 versions before)?
Last and not list do 2012 client tools require windows 7 OS?

FAQ's & Solution Search in CRM ICSS 6.0

I am working on CRM 6.O . I want to configure the FAQ & Solution search in ICSS. For this I have defined Probles, Solution and tried to compile the same in in BSP_WD_CMPWB for the component CRMCMP_SAFADM. But during compilation no data is reflecting. I had also configured the SAF.
Can anybody suggest me how to get the FAQ appear in ICSS. ?
I had already referred the document C13 & C74.

So, let me add the step to this that specifically is not working. Let's add to this the fact that to the Material of Truck, there are attached Warranties and Service Contracts (Truck is part of an equipment master). So, now I want all Red Trucks which have a Warranty expiring this month AND no Service Contract. To further explain, the equipment master has a Type (Truck), and either a Warranty or Contract attached to it (either, both, or neither). So I want to use the AND to identify Trucks that have no Warranty or and expiring one, AND Trucks that have no Service Contract. I only want Trucks that meet both conditions at the same time.
In our testing, we have found that using the AND with the KEEP functionality it works in all cases EXCEPT when someone owns more than one Truck. For example, lets say Bob owns two Trucks, one has no Warranty but a Service Contract, and the other Truck has a Warranty, but no Service Contract. In this case, Bob should not show up in the Target Group because he does not own a Truck that has no Warranty AND no Service Contract. However, because he shows up in the no Warranty target group for one Truck, and the no Service Contract target group for the other Truck, when you do a KEEP you get Bob in the final Target Group. Is there any way to find just Trucks that have both no Warranty and no Service Contract?

Please help me in diplaying backend (i.e., created in CRM) Complaints and Activities on ICSS b2b screen.
Currently, we could able to display the complaints and activities created on Web after logging in as b2b contact person. But when we click on the transaction number link, it it not displaying the details.
We need the details to be displayed to change the status of the complaint
Is the TREX mandatory for such scenario?

Transfering Developments to Another Server - Points will be reward.

Dear Guys
I want to transfer only developments done by Inhouse ABAPers and SAP itself to another newly developed server.
We have an another server which have same configuration as of QA system but some programs developed by Inhouse developers and SAP itself (like during writing user exists or implementing notes in QA) is missing in new system.
We have transported all in house development in new system by transporting our develoment classes.
Bbut how can we transports changes made in SAP by SAP itself like with SAP Notes or if an another program is created in SAP by running an another SAP program like user exits.
Please note I just want to transport ABAP work not the configuration, we already have transported the configuration.

then double click that request and change
You can add your different types of objects along with Object type into this request
whether it is Z or SAP changes
R3TR-TABL -<table name>
R3TR-PROG -<prog name>
See the table TADIR for different types of Objects.
So after adding all the objects into request release it and transport to new system.

Issue with special characters in SAP CRM ICSS application.

I have issue with the special character in CRM web application.
1. In CRM IC Webclient application(5.0) . i am copying and pasting some special characters in the description of the service request document. then this is saving the character as it is.
But when i am opening the same service request in SAP CRM ICSS(Internet Customer Self-Service) application, then the special characters are converting to different characters.
I am not sure whether this is the right forum for this or not.
Can anyone please suggest how can i correct this. Or is there any standard solution to handle the special characters in ICSS.

Hello to all,
first of all I want to congratulate all people that make this forums possible because it helps a lot of people (me included) when a problem appears.
Well, I'm going to get right to the point, is there any possibilty to download the developments made using web dynpros to the local pc, I have been trying to download them using the table "TADIR" and the object type "WDYN" using a z development and it created files but they were empty.

There is nothing provided by SAP for downloading of WD. Normal SAP Functionality expects you to use transports to move the code. However downloading to your PC is exactly what the open source SAPLink project was designed to do.
