ID CS6 Pages Panel menu QUESTION!

In ID CS6 the Pages panel menu has a page attributes submenu and one of the items is Optional in Liquid HTML5. Can anyone explain what this does when turned on/off?

There was an Adobe tech demo some time ago showing an export to HTML5 which dynamically retains liquid layout capabilities in the browser. The demo was pre-CS6, so I'm guessing they didn't get the feature ready in time for the initial release or even reserved it for a Creative Cloud update to ID CS6 on purpose.

Indesign CS6 Pages Panel Reversed Numbering

A customer has given us a document and the pages in the pages panel are inverted, they built the internal document in correct page order 1-12 but the Pages Panel reads 1,3-2,5-4,7-6,etc. I can't figure out how they did this. When exporting a PDF it follows the pages panel for sequence which is incorrect. Even if i re-arange the pages panel (which throws the document out of order) it still reads reads 1,3-2,5-4,7-6,etc. How can I correct this. I have attched a screnn shot of the Pages Panel.

Interesting, because they built there content to read left to right or Left Binding. Is there a way to fix it other than me exporting the pages 1,3,2,5,4,7,6. I should be able to export 1-12 like the content is built but then it is out of order for pagination.

Pages size info in pages panel grayed out

Hello,
OK....when I go into the pages panel, there is a flyout menu that says Pages Size info....yet everything is grayed out...No matter what or how I choose the pages, it is grayed out...How do you get this to activate?

There is no such item in Pages panels menu usually... Do you have some plugin installed and expired?

ID CS6 - Page Palette - "letter v"? How do I get rid of?

I am sure it has something to do with alternate layout (which I have never used) but recently in my page palette it now says "letter v".
How do I get rid of this? How did it get there?

You can still view vertically if you like (though it's a waste of panel space). The important thing is to open the Pages panel menu and go to View Pages and UNcheck by alternate layout.

Pages panel: Option-drag to duplicate broken in CS6

For some reason, the ability to quickly duplicate a page or spread in the Page panel via an Option-drag doesn't work in CS6. If I try to, say, Option-drag page 3 to insert a duplicate of it between pages 8 and 9, all it does is move page 3 there. To get the desired result, I have to first duplicate the page (which inserts it at the end of my document), then drag it to the proper place.
Option-drag to duplicate/insert worked fine in previous versions, and it's expected behavior on the Mac. Am I missing something here?

I've also noticed that sometimes Option-drag does nothing at all. I get a spinning beachball for a second, then... nothing.
I'm hesitant to believe that trashing my preferences will fix this, as I've seen this happen on two separate Macs.

CS6 InDesign Pages Panel

Why do my page documents sit on top of my master pages in my pages panel? I can see my master pages below my document pages, but cannot select them. Anyone know whats going on here—and how to fix this possible bug? Thanks, mmm_creative

There's a quick fix for this - fortunately not a bug.
In the Pages Panel, open up the top right dropdown (downwards triangle next to 3 horizontal lines) - at the bottom of the menu list open 'Panel Options...'.
In that menu, the final option is 'Panel Layout'. Make sure you have 'Masters on Top' selected rather than 'Pages on Top'.

Indesign CS6 crashes when using pages panel - problem solutions?

Problem:
Indesign freeze up if I try to use pages panel and either: move - add or delete pages.
I have now tried to remove and reinstall Indesign and also tried removing "preferences" when starting Indesign (as suggested from another site).
Problem started quite sudden.
Desperate need suggestions to solve problem!

I'm working with a 208 page document and need to be able to move pages around to make the best design possible.
This is impossible as every time I access the page panel InDesign freeze up and have to restart the program.
I'm working on PC with Windows 8. Problem seem to be sudden as explained over, and I have not been able to find any solution on internet.
As said over, I tried to remove “preferences” when starting InDesign but this made no changes to my problem.
In addition to above problem, I also had problems with being unable to move Objects, text fields etc. This was only possible when using arrow keys. From various suggestions on internet, I actually ended up uninstalling Google Chrome. This solved the problem in moving objects/text fields around, but my problem in moving pages still exists.
I have no desire in removing everything else but InDesign from my PC and hope to get a tip on solving my problem quick as time is of essence.

Can I add more than one horizontal separator to the PanelUI (the new panel menu)

Steps:
1. Click the new panel menu button (hamburger)
2. Click Customize
3. On the left, drag "Separator (for panel menu)" from "Additional Tools and Features" to the panel on the right. A horizontal separator appears. "Separator (for panel menu)" no longer appears in the "Additional Tools and Features".
I can add many "Separator" (vertical separator) to toolbars, but it appears I can only add one "Separator (for panel menu)" (horizontal separator) to the panel.
I would like to add additional horizontal separators to the panel. Is there a way to do that?

Yes, I do have Classic Theme Restorer installed (I love it!), but missed these customization nuances. After reading more threads, searching, and reviewing prefs.js, I saw the ctraddon_puib_separator.
A while back, I had problems with vertical separators, specifically with AIOS, and had also looked for horizontal separators. The solution at that time was customizableui-special-separator{d}, where d was a unique digit.
I always found the customization menu to be difficult to use, especially if a buttons addon was installed, mainly because it was unordered. I recently installed Sort and Search Customization Dialog and it has made a world of difference.
I just started changing my FF ways and using the new menu. I wanted to divide up the menu into sections or activities. On top I'd have a row of user tools like history, bookmarks, then a divider and have a row of customization tools, another divider and development tools. The divider which provides the visual separation and grouping is really nice. I hope FF adopts them. Page Thumbnails not displaying in Pages Panel

Hi all,
Hopefully a quick question...I've searched through the Forum and not spotted a similar issue.
I have a user who is experiencing an unusual issue in InDesign CS6 - Page Thumbnails aren't displaying in the Pages Panel (such that the panel is completely blank - no new page icon etc.), and Swatches aren't displaying in the Swatches Panel (default swatches or new swatches - the panel is completely blank). I've checked all of the Panel Display options, and have toggled the thumbnail display size up/down, and on/off to no avail. This problem is also non-document specific, it's happening on all documents either previously saved or freshly created. I've also tried multiple workspaces and that hasn't helped.
I've also tried binning the preferences and this hasn't helped...
Any thoughts where to start? My hunch is possibly plugins not working/missing, but I'm not sure what/where to check.
Any help would be very much appreciated...

I hate to have to bump an old topic, but replacing my prefs doesn't work either. Tried restarting the computer too. Nothing really works and I hate to have to waste time reinstalling when I doubt that would help at this point. (hates windows).

No option to Load Master Pages on Pages Panel (Windows)

Hi there.... I'm a longtime user in the Mac platform, but am now doing some smaller projects in a Windows platform. The Load Master Pages is not even listed among the choices when I view the Pages panel using CS6. What doi need to toggle on/off and where is it in order to get this option in the menu list please? Thanks for your help as I'm really at a loss here.

InDesign CS4 page numbering not displaying correctly in Pages Panel

I searched the forums for a solution to my problem before posting. I am sorry if I'm doubling someone's question but here I go:
I noticed this problem I have about 6 month ago. When I create a simple document with automatic page numbering everything is fine. When I try and create a section (i.e. I want my numbering to start at 1 at page 3) it actually works however in the Pages Panel the pages are displayed with their basic numbers. You will agree this is rather confusing. I've tryed different files, same files on different computers and so on. The problem has to do with my installation of InDesign CS4 and I suppose it's some kind of a display option I accidentally turned on.
Could someone please suggest a solution? Thank you!

Can someone help me retrieve my pages panel?

My Pages panel has disappeared. It isn't an option to view it at all. I tried trashing the pages panel plugin and replacing it, trashing indesign preferences and restarting (pressing shift/control/option/command while starting indesign) and disabling/enabling the pages panel hyperlink in extensions manager. None of this has worked. Can someone help me? Very frustrated.

Capturing a front panel menu selection in a SubVI

All,
Title is pretty descriptive, so i've got a subvi that's running pretty much in a while loop and I want a menu selection from the parent VI to be able to cancel it. What i've tried so far is passing the reference to the front panel menu and then trying to detect a valuechange/mouse click/ selection etc in an event loop in the SubVI. The problem is it doesn't look like the front panel menu registers the change until after the SubVI finishes executing. How can I fix this?

trying to stop the while loop in the subVI from the parent VI? And, what’s the
purpose of using a menu selection? If you can post a simple example, that would
be great.

Pages panel in ver 8 missing

Suddenly my papes panel is missing. Tabs and all.
Win xp pro system. Acrobat ver 8.2.1
I don't find any reference in the tools bars for making the pages panel display or reappear. I looked in preferences and don't find a swithc or option for display....unless I'm missing something.
I went through the repair install routine offered under help menu. No change. My pages panel is gone.
Can someone offer a course of action?

If there is no navigation panel being shown of the left hand side of the Acrobat window, You many need to View> Navigation Panels>Show Navigation Pane.
Then you can right click in the pane and select what you want to show.

Super key to open panel menu while using compiz

Hi, I am new to Arch, I have tried a few times to install before but actually sat down today and got this masterpiece set up . All I was wondering now is how do I set up Compiz so that I can use just the super key on my laptop to open the panel menu? I tried editing it to just super and it doesn't seem to like it for whatever reason. This is probably the one Windows feature I could not live without.. I so wish I'd started out my computing days on Linux, then alt+F1 would be the norm thanks in advance

I have no experience with xmodmap and after using Google to search around I can't seem to get my head around it (the arch wiki also left me feeling somewhat confused too). How do I go about setting it up correctly? This is the final thing that I can't seem to get sorted, and the only thing I have been unsuccessful in Googling a solution.
Arch has shown me just how much I really don't know! I like learning though otherwise I'd still be like all the other sheep and using Windows like we have all been brainwashed to believe is good (well obviously not the Linux community) I would also like to take this opportunity to say thanks to everyone who has given their time to provide me with support and I hope I have not annoyed you too much with my questions.
