What is the functionality of "ID for Alternative G/L Account" in the alternative assignment of reconcillation account? please help me on this issue

I think the only option that would serve, although you should check this account is confidential.
The definition of confidential account reads:
Select this option to define specific accounts as
confidential. When the option is selected, some users are not
allowed (by the authorizations defined) to use these accounts or
view their activities in the system.
There is however, an observation that is related to the following:

How to set up SAP Business One such that a user will not be able to see Certain accounts
Solution
Follow the steps below to set up a user such That Certain accounts are not shown:
1. Log on as superuser.
2. Go to: Financials -> Chart of accounts (CoA).
3. Select account to be hidden by highlighting it.
4. Tick box 'Confidential'.
5. Click on 'Update'.
6. Go to: Administration -> System Initialisation -> authorizations -> General authorizations.
7. Select the user by clicking on the username-> 'General' -> Access to confidential accounts -> 'no authorization'.
Effects of this setting for the Malthus restricted user:
1. Accounts marked as 'Confidential' are not displayed in CoA.
2. Accounts marked as 'Confidential' are not displayed in the 'Choose from' lists.
3. Accounts marked as 'Confidential' are not displayed in any of the financial reports (Profit and Loss, Trial Balance, Balance Sheet).

u can make the entry and blank valuation class and give the gl account in wrx
so that it will take this GL account for blank materia number
or
u cna give valuation class to material group

Report for cost centers with alternative chart of account

Hi.
I try to make a report in cost center accounting and in profit center accounting with alternative chart of accounts. We have primary chart of account for 20 companies and alternative chart of account for 1 company. How can I make a report in CO-OM and PC accounting with alternative accouns? Is there any metod? Are on the intrenet somewhere instructions?

CCA reports are possible only by cost elements (which an have different description from a GL account).
PCA reports are possible only for main account (alternative account not available in GLPCT table).

Update BSEG with alternative G/L account after assigning it at company code

Hello,
I'm facing an issue concerning the update of BSEG and other tables.
We have started to work in Production from January 2010 without alternative chart of accounts. So many posting till now.
Now the company wants to set up the local chart of account for some legal requirement. I know that once we have put an alternative chart of account, we can not change the local G/L account before balance at 0.
But in my case, the local chart of account was not assigned to the company code. So I can put what I want in the group G/L account as alternative account.
The idea is to create a local chart of account, after all local G/L accounts related to the local chart of account and after assign the local chart of account to the company code.
The problem is that for all historical items (january 2010 to June 2010) I don't have the local G/L account in BSEG and other tables (FI)...and I need it for reporting.

How entry will flow to these 2 a/cs.

I'm relaxed after looking at your thread related to Alternative Chart of Accounts since I have got into same problem.
NB: Apologies for not opening up a new thread as against forum rules. This is because I may not be able to get Michal's response in time, if I deviate from this thread.
My Client Requirement: In Spain, for the year 2008, the Spanish Chart of Accounts (country COA) has been changed and due to this, we have to change corresponding alternative accounts of several GL accounts (range includes Reconciliation accnouts with Open Item Mgnt, Accounts managed with 'Post Automatically only' and Normal accounts).
Problem is quite obvious that these GL accounts have balances....

Obyc for country chart of account

what is setting required for obyc for country chart of account. I have already assigned country chart of account number in operative chart of account- Comapny code section.

Dear Nitin,
You can not assign an 'Alternative Account' of Country Chart of Accounts in OBYC, neither no additional customization settings can be defined in SAP to achieve your requirement.
Country Chart of Accounts is just for the purpose of drawing a Balance Sheet with reference to Alternative Accounts instead of GL Account from Operating Chart of Accounts.
As you said, only assignment of Alternative Account in GL Master record is possible, means to say that you are just linking GL and Alt A/c for the above purpose of Balance sheet.
So whatever postings (say for instance, inventory postings to Stock GL Account) you made via OBYC will not really flow into this Alternative Account and thus no point in talking about displaying this Alt a/c balances.

Unable to view entries in FAGLL03 for Zero Balance Clearing Account

Hi experts,
We are facing a unique problem. We are not able to view the line items of the Zero Balance clearing account. The master data of the G/L has been activated for line items but still the display of the items is not happening. I am getting the foll message:
Account 19900000, company code 1100 is clearing account
Message no. MSITEM111
Diagnosis
You have stored account 19900000 in company code 1100 as a clearing account. At the same time, you use line item management with this account.
System Response
Error message issued because line item display cannot read data for an account in a ledger if line items exist partially in the entry view together with clearing items for which there are no line items. In such cases, only the data with line items would be selected.
Procedure
Check the Customizing settings or account control. Change the settings so that only automatic postings without line items can be made to the account, or select a different account as the clearing account.

In splitting case you need not the give the line item display tab for Zero Balance Clearing Account.
Just remove that line item display in FS00 for Zero Balance account. You could be able to see the entries in FAGLL03

I'm trying to update the certificate for my Exchange Email Account...Dell had me delete the account, install the new certificate on my phone, and set up the email again...But it still won't work and acts like it can't find/use the new cert. Any suggestions besides a hard resest of the phone?

Is the e-mail account on your cell phone? Which device? If its on your phone, an Exchange e-mail, may need to be provisioned/ set up by your employer/ IT department.

Are you able to email from Mail with those two accounts? If so:
1 - go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete both accounts. Now add them back and try again.
2 - a better solution IMO is to set Mail as the email client for iPhoto is iPhoto's General preference pane. This gives you better access to your contacts, a sent copy of all emails and, if you want a layout similar to iPhoto's, photo layouts located in Mail's stationary.

Sometimes deleting the account and then re-creating it can solve this issue
Write down all the information in accounts before doing this
Highlight the account on the left and click the minus button
Then click the plus button to add the new account and follow the prompts

I cannot access online statements for my credit card account when using firefox, but have no problem when using safari.

When I attempted to check the monthly statement for my credit card account and clicked on "See statement", the next screen that appeared, which was labeled Online Statement", was blank. In the past, I have never had any problems with this. When I checked with the bank that issued the credit card, the representative I spoke with said that it was a browser issue and that, since I was working on a Mac, I should try using Safari. When I switched to Safari, I had no problem bringing up my statement. But I would prefer to be able to use Firefox to obtain information like this, since it's the browser I always use.

Yes I could set up a new email address but WHY THE **** should I? I've been using this email account for years for personal stuff, it's not mu fault if someone can sign it up as an AppleID without me being able to confirm their sign up process!
