ID password not accepted anymore (once worked)

Good morning,
I am kind of desperate...and I hope somebody is familiar with this problem.
I have adobe reader 11 XI, the latest version.
I am taking a trainingcourse at Learningtrain. They provide lessonmaterial with certificates / id only.
I created an ID and sent that to my teacher. fyi: I was strongly advised to switch off the automatic update option..as adobe deletes id's... and i did.
The teacher had it all set up. And it worked! I could succesfully open the material with my password.
now the issue:
But it only worked once! Very strange. the ID is still there, but adobe does not accept my password any more
so i cannot open the file anymore. My home work is due today... and it is a lot ;-)
I have checked and double checked my password and is must be correct.
My teacher advised me to delete this id, and to create a new one. but that does'nt work as reader still askes
for my password when i want to delete the id.
so i decided to deinstall reader and install again (who knows...) but it lookes like i cannot delete it.
fyi: I also have adobe acrobat pro on my pc as i have the whole adobe css range. but I have exclusively used the reader.
Hope you can help me.
Kind regards Asha

Well, if you can't uninstall Reader, you probably have something wrong. But, if you were advised against updating, uninstalling will surely be worse!
I'm afraid I don't know what kind of password this is, there are so many possibilities. What does the prompt say? A screen shot would be good (BUT DON'T TRY TO EMAIL IT IN REPLY).

  • Admin password not accepted anymore - but it's correct

    Hi,
i have a strange problem in Lion 10.7.5:
My admin password is not accepted anymore in Lion. Whenever i'm asked to enter the Admin password, the window closes (therefore: no "wrong password" message or something else) but the process isn't continuing (for example an installation). There is no change or progression.
The password is definitely correct, i was also able to change it or use it in the terminal (where it is accepted). But i'm still not able to use it within Lion.
Tried also to boot in single-user mode and change the password there via "passwd username" but i'm getting a "The daemon encountered an error processing request" error message.
Read somewhere else, that i should repair permissions and/or keychain first aid. Tried both but the problem still exists.
Does anyone have another idea? I really don't want to restore my system... Actually, how can i do this without an installer disc? Purchased my imac with lion pre-installed - i guess i would have to reinstall all my applications?
    Thanks for your help!

  • Gmail Error: Username and Password Not Accepted?

Okay, once in a while my e-mail actually works on my I phone but about 90% of the time I get this notification; Cannot Get Mail: Username and password not accepted. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Oh yeah, I'm using 1.0.2, gmail, and I'm positive my password and username is right.

I think the problem is solved. Last night I was on my friends computer and I accidentally stored my gmail password. I couldn't figure out how to delete it so I changed my password and then updated my iPhone with the new password. Ever since then I haven't had any problems.

  • Apple id password not accepted on icloud

why is my apple id password not accepted when I try to login to iCloud? The same password worked when I tried to login to support to post this question!

If Settings>iCloud is showing your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

My Macbook Pro won't print with my HP Photosmart 7515. I get the following message, " Print file was not accepted" Printer does work with our PC?? Checked for software updates and are none. Talked with HP help and they say it's an Apple problem

I noticed that you said you uninstalled the printer, but you didn't mention resetting the print system.  Resetting the print system will reset the drivers the Mac has installed and make them work like they should.  Give this a try and see if it gets the printer working like it should.  The document below will expalin more about doing this.
Basic Printer Troubleshooting Steps for Mac
If that doesn't help, see if you are using the AirPrint driver, or the printers driver.  By default 10.8 uses the AirPrint driver if the printer supports it, so I'm betting that's the driver you're using.  If it is, try using the driver for the printer itself.  To do this, access Print and Scan.  Click the + sign to add a new printer.  Select the printer from the list.  Click the dropdown next to Use and select the 7515's driver.  Let me know what happens.

  • Cant restore back up from iCloud as password not accepted

when trying to restore an 1phone 5s from iCloud back up my password is not accepted..i then go to iforgot, change my password retry the restore process and get the same issue.I have tried turning find phone off, starting again but still cant access back up because password not accepted.

I can't change my DNS settings. I'm trying to restore while setting up my phone. If I change the DNS settings while on the phone, and then restore the phone and try to restore from the back-up on my iCloud, it won't save that I've changed settings to use Google's public DNS. I would log onto my university's secure wifi instead of their guest wifi, but unfortunately I can't. because that involves an installation, which I can't do if I restore my phone and am trying to set it up.

Was sucesssful signing up and using firefox on desktop yesterday. Today user name and or password not accepted. Can't get emails-nothing. Asked for help with password and never got email. This was 3 hrs ago and not in spam folder

Password for what? Signing up for what?
Firefox doesn't need a password for a person to be able to use it.
Firefox shouldn't affect your ability to get email - Firefox doesn't do email, but it will allow you to access your web-mail service.

  • SMB client URL works in 10.4.10, breaks in 10.5 -- password not accepted

    Hi,
The SMB client URL (Finder Command-K) that was working under 10.4.10 breaks under 10.5:
    smb://DOMAIN-name;userid@Fully-qualified-DN-for-WinServer/PrivateSharename$
The symptom is that the Mac does connect to the WinServer, as I do get the userid/password prompt, with the userid already prefilled as DOMAIN-name\userid. But when I add my Windows password and submit, I get a delay and then a message my userid or password is invalid.
I know my userid and password are valid as they work from my PC, as well as from my Mac as far as establishing a Mac to PC screensharing session using MS Remote Desktop Connection.
I know that it's not a network, DNS, or WINS name resolution problem as I do get as far as the initial connection to the PC -- i.e. the userid/password prompt. As well I've tried using the Windows Server's IP address directly in the URL.
I've read the threads here and tried these variants of the URL:
    smb://DOMAIN-name;userid@IP-of-WinServer/PrivateSharename$
    smb://DOMAIN-name;userid:win-password@IP-of-WinServer/PrivateSharename$
I've tried the Ruby script to escape any funny characters in my win-password; but there are none anyways, and the output from the Ruby script mentioned in another thread are the same as my inputted password.
I've also gone into /etc/smb.conf and added the line suggested in another thread:
    client NTLMv2 auth = Yes
...and rebooted. But that line is for Windows clients trying to connect to a samba server running on the Mac. I'm doing the opposite: trying to run a Samba client connection to a PC server.
    Bottom line:
OS X 10.4.10 : no problem connecting to Windows server
    OS X 10.5 : cannot
    suggestions welcome,
    ...b

OK, so this SMB client URL (in the Finder, press Command-K) that was working under 10.4.10 breaks under 10.5:
    smb://domain;[email protected]/share
so I added my domain name and WINS servers into the WINS tab of the Networking Preference Pane, and I was then able to browse our windows network in the Finder, find the above Win2003 PC server name, and connect! Yay!
So I went back and tried variations on the SMB URL above. Until finally this variation worked:
    smb://domain;userid@server/share
Hmm. So server.domain.company.com which does resolve to the PC server's IP, no longer works under OS X 10.5 -- even though the same SMB URL worked in OS X 10.4.
Worse, while smb://domain;userid@server/share now works on the company LAN, smb://domain;userid@server/share fails over the company (cisco) VPN.
I speculate it's because OS X 10.5 is using the PC servers NetBIOS name above and therefore relying on various PC WINS server ports, whose packets can flow unimpeded over my LAN. But when I'm VPN'ing, the company LAN I land on blocks these packets and ports.
So after much tinkering, I returned to the Terminal.app and started reading the man pages about Samba, the open source Windows networking software used by OS X:
man -k smb <-- to look up all the terminal commands for samba
one of the entries this returned was:
nsmb.conf(5) - configuration file for SMB requests
    Hmm, that sounds promising.
    man nsmb.conf
returned a sample configuration file. I edited the sample file to include our windows "domain" name, and to map our "server" name to it's fully-qualified DNS name: "server.domain.company.com", and put this updated file, as per the man pages, in ~/Library/Preferences/nsmb.conf, and volia:
    smb://domain;userid@server/share
now works for me to connect from OS X 10.5 to the "server" over our LAN and over our VPN!
This was a lot of work and not a general solution. OS X 10.4 was definitely better, but this is the only PC server I need to connect to, so I'm very happy that I don't have to uninstall Leopard and re-install Tiger.

  • After creating new accounts Password not accepted

On my daughter's G3 iMac (10.4.5) I have always had it set up with one user that was auto-logged in. Today I am trying to add 2 more users but the login window is rejecting the passwords. The set up for the users goes fine, but when the users try to log in their password is not accepted and the box shakes (nice touch btw).
My admin login still works fine. I also tried setting up those new accounts with no passwords, but they still get shaken off. Anyone have any ideas?
To make sure this wasn't user error on my part, I successfully set-up similar accounts on my iBook and they worked fine.
    Thanks

sounds like a netinfo database issue to me. if you have applecare you could call to be sure. otherwise, you can rename your netinfo database (which has probably become corrupt) by booting to single user mode (apple+s on startup) and typing the following commands:
    mv /var/db/netinfo/local.nidb /var/db/netinfo/local.nidb.bad
    reboot
once you do that, the setup assistant will launch on reboot and to be sure you don't lose any of your daughter's data, make her user name, shortname and password are the exact same as they are now. after you've logged back in as her user, go ahead and try to re-create the users again. it should work. if not, you may be looking at an archive or possibly erase and install.
good luck! it may be a good idea to back everything up just in case!

  • Hard Drive password not accepted in new W530

I am moving a hard drive from a W500 to a W530 laptop.  The hard drive has a password on it and it works fine on the W500. When I put the drive in the W530 laptop, it does not accept the password on boot up. If I move the drive back to the W500, it all works fine.  This is a 1TB drive, so I'm hoping I can still use it! Thanks for any help here.

Good afternoon and welcome to the community.
Since the HDD password is accepted when it's installed in the W500, why not pull off the password in BIOS there, reinstall the drive into the W530 and then set the password in the W530's BIOS?

  • User password not accepted after migration

Source: iMac Lion OSX.7.4  Destination iMac OSX6.8
Problem: user password is not accepted after migration
What I did: Tried to migrate over the LAN, but in the migration assistant the other Mac was mutually never recognized. (Did migrations several times successfully in our LAN before). Last time the LIon Mac was the destination, who is now the source.
I backupped then the  user with Time machine on the Lion and installed it with the migration assistant on the Snow Leopard system. As as the password was not accepted, I repeated the backup/migration process once. No help
I reset in System Prefs/User accounts the password of that user. But cannot login either
First time, that a migration process fails for me.
    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks
    Urs

The target computer itself has admin accounts thats not the problem, I can access it. The issue is that the migrated additional user account is not accessible with its password.
I have found here an istruction how to reset a password in single user mode.
    http://www.macyourself.com/2009/08/03/how-to-reset-your-mac-os-x-password-withou t-an-installer-disc/
But that does not help either. The answer after the dscl -passwd command is that I do not have access (or similar, I don't remember)
My guess is that backward migration (Lion to Snow) causes the problem. May be I need to create the user freshly and to copy his documents manually

  • Password not accepted by appstore

I wonder why all apps which demand Aplle ID and password like iCloud, Apple support ect. work well on the same imac, but only AppStore DOES NOT accept it (message "password not correct").
I also reset my password - but no result. All works fine, except appstore :-( Antivirus and firewall are switched off. I also tried several suggestions from support community, like updating with MacOSXUpdCombo10 - no way, it won't work. I really need some help !

Try deleting the App Store cache...
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Ppen the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
    Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
    Relaunch the App Store.

  • Apple id password not accepted after ipad update to ios5

So I've just upgraded my iPad 2 with ios 5 and the apple id password doesn't work.  I've reset the password 4 times now and still it's not accepting it.  I've turned off the iPad and tried again and still no joy.  Any ideas?

Well this is simular to the problem i have had in rencent log ins on apple. 1. Is the email correct? 2. Did you type the password correct? (There HAS to be an upper case letter in the pass because apple accounts' passwords REQUIRE at least one uppercase letter) If this was not helpful please try again or add more details next time.
