First thing is to trash your prefernces. See Replace Your Preferences
If that doen't fix it, tell us the version of ID and the patch level, and your OS.

Reset the Jetpack (Page 79 in the User Guide). Remove and reinstall the SIM Card located beneath the battery (page 11 & 12). Be careful not to damage it, the retain clip or frame in any way.

Hi I have downloaded compressor4 from Apps store but it won't open - says compressor not properly installed. The reason for my purchase was that compressor 3 stopped working. I tried to reinstall from the FCP disk but it was 'greyed out'. I followed suggestions from the apple site to clear various library files - mainly relating to Qmaster but this didn't make any difference, an iwonder igf perhaps this is the reason for the compressor 4 programme not working. I tried to install an itunes update yesterday on my Dell Laptop. I kept getting an error message. Now I cannot access itunes and it says I need to reinstall itunes. Will I lose all of my music?
Installing, and uninstalling, applications never touches or removes the data.
Clean out and uninstall all the apple programs and software thru Programs and manually.
Might want to use Revo and CCleaner
I always use manual standalone installers (and keep a couple backup versions)
itunes 10.5 may affect iTunes media playlists, not sure, depends on what you have.
A search of these forums will show some threads.
I'd clean up vista, you need SP2 or later, and specific error message?
I wonder as you arenot the first with a dell if maybe the OS or included software.
Security programs like Norton and older versions of Kaspersky have been implicated.
Also settings in IE that affect pop-ups and plug-ins. -

When I open ITunes, I get a message that "iTunes has stopped working". I have tried reinstalling iTunes, creating a new user file, changing the startup programs in accordance with articles in iTunes troubleshooting, but am having no success in getting iTunes to stay open. My ipod when i cut it on shows the ITunes icon and the usb plug icon on my ipod screen. so I plugged it into my computer and when it took me to the Itunes menu it says I needed to reinstall the proram to the manufactures settings and upgrade. My Ipod appears to be whiped clean. I does nothing now. It didnt reinstall or upgrade at all. I have 2 Ipods and I think things got crossed up with them.

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Featurs appin the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

I recently installed Itunes on my laptop, and was able to add music to it, but then it would always pop up a window that said itunes had stopped working anytime I opened it. I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it, and it's doing the same thing. Please help!!!!
