ID tries to open files on startup

Question

Every time I open InDesign CS6 ID attempts to open phantom documents that had been previously open. I say phantom because the documents do not open but I see a dialog that states it is opening them and Universal Type Client 4.01 will open the related fonts. I have a deleted the local users ID cache folder but it does not solve the problem. Where does ID keep the list of files to auto open?
Actions taken: deleted caches for Universal Type Client and Adobe InDesign.

I can see where that might happen if the InDesign Recovery folder is on a network drive someplace and isn't properly cleared on shutdown (and I wouldn't be all that surprised on Windows 7 if the system fialed to clear the cache even when it's on the C: drive if you shut down Windows as well, and that might also be true for Mac). I don't run CC enough to know, but CS6 is pretty slow at releasing the memory and clearing the recovery folder, I think.
