Idconfig: /usr/lib/* errors & unknown type
Hello everybody!
After last night update I couldn't start my xfce desktop, but after some reinstalls of mesa, intel-dri, slim, etc. I got it working.
During the update process I received the following message (i can't remember for which package was it):
Unknown media type in type 'all/all'
Unknown media type in type 'all/allfiles'
Unknown media type in type 'uri/mms'
Unknown media type in type 'uri/mmst'
Unknown media type in type 'uri/mmsu'
Unknown media type in type 'uri/pnm'
Unknown media type in type 'uri/rtspt'
Unknown media type in type 'uri/rtspu'
Maybe the above error is package-specific, but what annoys me is this: http://pastebin.com/7UBRi1RX - a lot of /usr/lib/* files that are empty. This error shows up everytime I install/reinstall/remove a package from my system.
Should I be worried?

Unknown Type of Request please check the url
Hi All,
I am using iis4.0 with iplanet sp4 on win nt 4.0 with sp6. I am getting the error: unknown type of request check the url with iplanet sample applications..
Any one know any work around or any solution for this problem????
Thanks,
Prashant DalalWhat browser are you using to access the sample applications. This seems like the web server is not parsing the request properly. Can you snoop the request/response and post that? I dont have the compatibility guide in front of me, are you confident that iis4.0 is compatible with iAS 6.0 SP4? Does this problem occur with all deployed applications or only the sample applications (does fortune fail to function?).

Hi,
We are setting up a shell script as a concurrent program which has an scp command in it. When we run the shell script from the command prompt it works fine, but when run through the front end (concurrent program) it throws the below error:
ssh_askpass: exec(/usr/lib/ssh/ssh-askpass): No such file or directory
any ideas on this?

Hello,
After trying to change my printer settings on CUPS administrator area to allow to share my wirelless printer to my VirtualBox environment (somehow virtualbox doesn't detect my wirelless printer) I notice that this area stop to work. After it I try to update the CUPS by installing a new version. I admint that I am a newby in unix environment and I downloaded the CUPS v1.6.1 and installed through the terminal,
./configure
sudo make
make install
After restarting apple site no longer opened like also my home page. Other programs also stopped working and always warn about the same error described bellow. I posted my last try which was reinstall my system Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6.8). Does anyone deal with this problem before? How can I reinstall at least the operation system or just fixing this library will solve the problem?
Note: The reason of using virtualbox is that I need to use a prescribed software that only works in windows environment and since I need to make work in other places the wireless printing is the only viable way to do this.

I had the same problem with my Mac OSX System 10.8.4 after update cups from 1.6.2 to 1.6.3.
I have a MacBookPro with the same system version and copy the libcups.2.dylib file form /usr/lib/ then replace the error file in my other Mac.
1. Install cups 1.6.2 again
2. Replace the file libcups.2.dylib in /usr/lib/ directory with this one libcups.2.dylib
Note: I added the link if you dont have an other mac in the same version available.
This works for me. -

So, I have a sligtly old computer that I use web browsers like midori on, because they are good for slow computers. Whenever I launch dwb or midori or luakit from the launcher in the Gnome shell, nothing happends. When launching from the terminal (dwb here, it happens for all three) I get:
dwb: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0: file too short
and when installing packages I get:
ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libjavascriptcoregtk-1.0.so is empty, not checked.

The package installs, and then this prints out.
What can I do to fix it?

SOAMANAGER does not exist in my system (sp level 8), so node "/sap/bc/soap/rfc" should be active. Actually, it is active.
I think the problem is related to user rights/profiles.
I have tried to create another WS after assigning role SAP_BC_WEBSERVICE_ADMIN. The same error when trying to activate it, but now, I can see this WS in SE80 (under "Enterprise Services->Service Definition"). It is not active there and if I try to activate it, a success message appears indicating that user "is not authorized to use function netzwerkadministration". I cannot see any new services in SICF...
Probably the new entry in SICF will be created after activating WS in SE80...
Do u know what user profile should I add in order to properly activate the WS in SE80?
Thank you very much!

Hi,
I've just installed a Solaris 9 and gcc-3.4.2 (from sunfreeware.com) on a Sun Blade 1500.
#uname -a
SunOS dove 5.9 Generic_117171-07 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Blade-1500
Upon running my application, a runtime error occured.
ld.so.1: CMC: fatal: relocation error: file /usr/lib/librt.so: symbol priocntl: referenced symbol not found
I've traced my code to were it had encountered a problem. It seems that the error occured whenever a pthread_create() function is executed.
Originally my application was developed under a Solaris 8 environment. No runtime errors occured during that time.
I think there's a problem with the Solaris 9 /usr/lib/librt.so.1 file.
Could you please help me.
I deeply appreciate it.hi, take a look at:

Symbol lookup error /usr/lib/libXi.so.6
Dear All,
After a recent update, I have problems with libXi. I get the following error while trying to plot something with gnuplot:
gnuplot: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libXi.so.6: undefined symbol: XESetWireToEventCookie.
I get a similar error when trying to run a java application:
java: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libXi.so.6: undefined symbol: XESetWireToEventCookie
Something looks broken. I tried downgrading libXi to the previous version 1.3.2-1:
pacman -U libxi-1.3.2-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz
but that didn't help. I'm now back on version 1.4.0-1
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. This is my first post to this forum so bare with me. I've been a gentoo user for quite sometime but I'm trying a binary distro for obvious reasons.
This also looks like a bug for I haven't done anything strange. This is a newish installation and all I do every week or so is pacman -Syu as suggested in the beginner handbook. I'm surprised no one else has posted this problem... is it really just me?. There are some old post on this issue but there was no solution there other than downgrading which I have already tried.
I've just realized that not even okular works!!! Why am I being punished?
okular: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libXi.so.6: undefined symbol: XESetWireToEventCookie
Thanks.

I've installed quartus II today too and ran into similiar conflicts. I build version 1.2.1 of libxi again as suggested by davidgurvich, but "tricked out" pacman to avoid rebuilding the whole xorg packages, which depend on libxi>=1.3:
pkgname=libxi
pkgver=1.3
pkgrel=2
realver=1.2.1
pkgdesc="X11 Input extension library"
arch=('i686' 'x86_64')
url="http://xorg.freedesktop.org"
depends=('libxext>=1.1' 'inputproto>=2.0')
makedepends=('pkgconfig')
options=(!libtool force)
license=('custom')
source=(${url}/releases/individual/lib/libXi-${realver}.tar.bz2)
md5sums=('cfb36307e8e7ffafe40848dba24e0b11')
build() {
cd "${srcdir}/libXi-${realver}"
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --disable-static || return 1
make || return 1
make DESTDIR="${pkgdir}" install || return 1
install -m755 -d "${pkgdir}/usr/share/licenses/${pkgname}"
install -m644 COPYING "${pkgdir}/usr/share/licenses/${pkgname}/" || return 1
works for me... however, this is a dirty solution. maybe someone provide a better fix. -
I've just tried to install the stable "google-chrome" package from AUR with the command. I have all of the dependencies already installed except for these two:
- libjpeg6 (building from AUR)
- libpng12 (package found)
When the package manage tries to install "libpng12-1.2.43-1", I get the following error:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
libpng12: /usr/lib/libpng.so.3 exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
According to the file manager (Thunar), the file /usr/lib/libpng.so.3 is a link to /usr/lib/libpng.so.
This is probably a silly question (as I'm a clueless newbie!) but... can I just delete this link and expect the installation of libpng12 to replace it so that everything will still work...?
Thanks in advance :-)

A tip: run pacman -Qo on the file in question, either you put that symlink there yourself or strange things are happening on your system. -

Dear all,
Whill installing sap 4.7 database instance in HPIA64 , i got error mes like
ERROR 2008-03-03 22:26:31
MUT-03010 Execution of the command "/sapmnt/C2P/exe/brconnect -u / -c -f crsyn -o SAPC2P" finished with status TST_ERROR.
cat brconnect.1.log
/usr/lib/hpux64/dld.so: Unable to find library 'libclntsh.so.10.1'.
Please let me what will be the problem .
Regards,
satich -kHi,
The SAP DBSL (dboraslib.so) will search for the Oracle client shared library in the following paths in this order of precedence:
On 64-Bit platforms:
a. /oracle/client/10x_64/instantclient
b. /oracle/client/10x_64/lib
c. /oracle/db_sw/10x_64/instantclient
d. /oracle/db_sw/10x_64/software/lib
On 32-Bit platforms:
a. /oracle/client/10x_32/instantclient
b. /oracle/client/10x_32/lib
c. /oracle/db_sw/10x_32/instantclient
d. /oracle/db_sw/10x_32/software/lib
If the client can't be found in the first path, then the second will be searched and so on. The instant client path is the same for Oracle Release 10.1 and 10.2. The path can only differ from 64 bit to 32 bit.
Thus, to solve your problem, create a dynamic link in the oracle client directory like this (for Unix 64-Bit):
cd /oracle/client/10x_64
ln -s /oracle/client/10x_64/lib lib

kaushal
