IDCS2- How do I create lines in text boxes?

I am working on a fill-in keepsake book that has many pages of prompts followed by journal lines. i.e. "The best part of the trip was____" and "People we met___" etc. I know there is a way to create the text box so the lines fill-in around the text and look nice and even, but can't seem to find it in the help or manual. Anyone know? Thanks!

Assuming by "interactive text boxes" you mean form fields; in Acrobat, make a form field, then copy it and paste. (GIve the pasted copy a different name so they don't genetate the same field feedback.) Now you have two fields of the exact same size. Shift-click or marquee-drag to select both, then right-click and choose a command from the Align, Distribute or Center menu.

How to drop a line in text messages

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I drop a line in text messages? With my BlackBerry Bold 9780 I pressed "alt" and "enter" and it would drop down a line. I've tried that with my BlackBerry Q10 with no success.

There are two basic Title formats — I should say Layouts — available: Text (plain) and Paragraph. (The plain text version usually does not appear with the blue dot controls — those generally appear for the paragraph type control.)
If the Title is using a Paragraph layout, it's like having a mini version of Text Edit available inside FCPX. You can tell when you click on the text (when the title is selected) -- a rectangle will appear around the text like so:
double clicking on the text will give you the bounds controls which you can use to redefine the text area without distorting the text. Once selected, notice the button that appears in the top right corner of the canvas:
Pressing that will activate the ruler. You can right click on the ruler and add Tab Stops (left, right, center and decimal.)
So if the title uses paragraph formatting, you can create a very WYSIWYG type of display text (use the Text inspector to alter text selections within the paragraph bounds.)

Per my knowledge,
it is by design that the data type multiple lines of text can only use “contains” and “begins with” operators.
You can also filter the list view using SharePoint Designer,
Open your list AllItem.aspx page in SPD ->click “Filter” > in “Field Name” select your multipe line of text field, in “Comparison” will displayed four choices.

Undesired bullet pointed text automatically upon creating a new text box

Hi there! Due to the snow I'm working from home today but I have a little problem back in work that would be nice to get some help on before i go back hopefully tomorrow so i can continue at full speed!
I'm using Mac OS X (can't remember which version from the top of my head but something quite new!), and InDesign CS3. Basically, every time i create a new text box, or place an excel file into the document (having to do a lot of that at the moment, creating a price guide), it is in bullet point form, and although it's quite easy to go and turn it back off, with me having to do this quite a lot it's getting somewhat frustrating. It does it every single time i create a new text box even if i have turned it off for the previous one
I'm pretty sure this is going to be one of those "oh, you just need to..." problems with a really simple answer...i hope so anyway!

Thanks guys, i now seem to have a related problem at home. Here i am using CS2 but working on the same document as at work. I have made sure nothing is selected and set my character and paragraph styles to basic, and hey presto, when i create a text box, all is well. However, when i create a table, and i type in a cell, the bullets return! I have just discovered that turning them off in CS2 doesn't seem to be as simple as CS3 - so firstly - how do i do that?! And secondly - any ideas why it is happening but only in tables?!

How to include unicode chars in text boxes?

Hi,
We need the unicode chars (for example: Chinese, Korean, etc...) to appear in the generated .pdf and .pcl files from the Adobe Output designer's IFD file.
These chars are static and will not change, so we shall not be fetching them from FNF file (.dat).
While trying to copy-paste directly into text box field, we are getting an error prompting for converting them to some other character set.
We couldn't paste them exactly with the text how they should appear in the text boxes.
Please tell us if there is a way to achieve this.

Double check that all of the selected presentation targets and the font being used for the particular text box supports the characters you are trying to paste into it. For example, the PDF target only has 11 fonts available unless you use the other tabs to "create new soft font cartidges". If you have the appropriate fonts installed on you PC you should be able to use this capability to make the font available for each of your presentation targets. (At least that is my impression - I've never needed to try it.)

Create a linked text box

I'm working with the iBooks Publishing with iBooks Author and trying to do the tutorial for creating a new layout and running into trouble. I'm trying to do the linked text boxes it says to do. The book says when I create the first text box I should select it and then a little blue arrow will show up on the right edge near the bottom. But no such arrow shows up. Anyone have an idea of what I'm missing? Thanks.

how to I outline multiple lines of text to create a filled outline around a group of text like this:

1) Create the Type and Type>Create Outlines;
2) With the Group selected in the Appearance palette, in the flyout Add New Stroke and set the Stroke Weight and colour as desired, then drag the Stroke below the Contents;
3) Object>Expand Appearance;
4) Lock the original group with the letter shapes and Expand;
5) Pathfinder>Unite, then lock the bottommost path and delete the rest which formed the holes;
6) Unlock the original group with the letter shapes.
You may also wish to simplify the outline.

How do I get rid of various lines around text boxes when using navigation panes

How can I get rid of these various lines that are displaying sporatically around different text boxes . . . but only when the navigation panel is displaying? I previously had the issue and changed the text box properties to no fill. It fixed the problem in the document with no navigation panel, but once the navigation panel is displayed the lines appear. And yes, I fixed the text box properties before creating the bookmarks for the navigation panel.

Every device, browser and browser version has its idiosyncrasies.
Just using a stroke and a drop shadow should not have been enough to require Muse to convert the page fill to an image. Were/are there also other effects on the page? Are the page corners slightly rounded?
Bevel and Inner Glow definitely require an image to be created. Most other effects/properties do not.

How do I create self-writing text with overlaps?

I've tried having a look around online and searching on here without much luck.
I'm new to after effects and I've managed to create a basic self-writing text effect from videos online using a path and stroke technique, but there is a problem with using this technique for what I want. The text I am using has overlaps, where there are intersections, meaning that when I stroke through this area it shows chucks at the side of that line of text from the intersecting line (see below)
I think the solution is to use a variable width stroke, where I can set the width correctly for each part of the path, but I don't seem to be able to find how to do this on CS6. I only seem to be able to define a width for the entire path at the same time

Take a close look at this project. It's part of an upcoming tutorial on animating text and masks. Maybe the project will help. It's saved as a CC.
Note: Dropbox will probably add a .txt extension to the file so just remove it so it just says ScriptWriteOnText_CC.aep and it should open just fine.
The procedure was to create a text layer, then convert the text to a shape, then add a solid with stroke below the shape. I then animated the end of the Stroke with stroke set to On Transparent. I used the shape layer as a track matte to trim the stroke to the exact shape of the text converted to shape layer. I then added and animated the masks on the track matte layer. Each mask was changed to subtract and as I scrubbed through the timeline I added as many masks as I needed to clean up the crossing lines.
There are many ways to do this. You could split the layer at the cross over, work the other way around, use Paint, but the idea is always the same and it's tedious, especially if there are a lot of crossing points. You could even create your text layers in Illustrator, convert the text to outlines, then divide up the segments of the letters and sequence them in After Effects.
The faster you make the animation the easier it is to hide the crossing problems. For example, it only takes me about 3 seconds to sign my full name and with a signature that is that fast you could get away with a lot.

There are two type of PDF forms: AcroForms that can be created with Acrobat, and XFA forms (static and dynamic) that can be created with LiveCycle Designer. Since the kind you want (dynamic XFA) cannot be created with Acrobat, you'll have to use LiveCycle Designer. Said another way, AcroForms do not support fields that automatically expand based on content.
