IDD CS3 Can't drag the window completely open

This is weird - When working in InDesign (3), Mac osx, oftentimes I cannot drag the lower corner to open up the window. I can make it smaller/narrower but not full screen. I sometimes want to see all the text but also see whatever is on the pasteboard.
Right now, for example, the window will only allow itself to be dragged 1/2 the width of my screen.
It's not like this all the time, and I can't find the answer to the problem. It's not a View thing.

Do you have palettes open on the side? If so collapse them and you should be able to open the window.

Near the right-end of the address bar is a white star which can be difficult to see, but look closely. When you wish to bookmark a shortcut to the toolbar, double click the star. A window will open with the name of the webpage. Under that is the folder box which will probably read 'Unsorted Bookmarks'. Click the drop down arrow and change it to 'Bookmarks Toolbar' then click done.
I have several folders on my toolbar such as Music, Mail, etc. in which I add multiple websites. If you wish to add a folder, click the second drop down arrow next to 'Bookmark Toolbar' and click 'New Folder' and give it a name.
To add a bookmark to a folder, again double click the star, make sure you are in Bookmark Toolbar and click one of the two drop down arrows to find the name of the folder.
For other bookmarks use Bookmark Menu. Whatever is added here can be accessed by Bookmarks on the Menu Bar. If your Menu Bar with Bookmark, File, View, etc. is not visible, click the Alt key and they will become visible. To keep the Menu Bar, click View, Toolbars and check Menu Bar.

In a situation such as yours, I tend to consolidate items into folders so I have folders of nice workable numbers of images, somewhere between 20 and 200 images. Now, whatever, once you've imported, do your moving within LR, not the OS! I will select all in a folder and drag into a folder a level or two or three above, and then delete the newly empty subfolders. I hope this helps a bit!
Once you've reached just new Imports of camera output, you'll be flying along.

For Premiere Elements 11 and 12, you cannot change its default project preset from NTSC AVCHD Full HD1080i30 or its PAL counterpart PAL AVCHD Full HD1080i25 to something else.
For each project, you can set the project preset manually if you do not want the program to take over setting the project preset based
on the properties of the first drag to the Timeline.
To set the project preset manually, open the project to the Expert workspace, go to File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings.
In the Change Settings area, change the project preset. Before you exit that area, be sure to have a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on This Project" in the new project dialog.
Then you import your source media, using the appropriate Add Media choice.

If you want a version of Premiere Elements that uses the default project preset of NTSC DV Standard or its PAL counterpart PAL DV Standard, then you need to look to a version of Premiere Elements earlier than 11.

Window Tabs: dragging the window tab to the desktop

Window Tabs: Tried to grab the top of the finder window and wound up dragging the window tab to the desktop.
This creates a mini-window have to logout to remove.
If you right click on the finder icon in the dock and select show all windows they are in the list selecting them seems to do nothing but return you to the desktop.
What the heck is it?

Hi roninkai I'm also experiencing this behaviour, if you drag a finder window by its tab on to the desktop it creates a mini finder window that doesn't do anything. I keep doing it by mistake.
You can get rid of them by doing a Force Quit on the Finder from the Apple menu, this quickly refreshes the desktop and then they disappear.
Hope they fix this in the next point release.

1. The OP must have been on the Fast ring or he wouldn't have been
offered 10061 in the first place.
2. Your suggestion was to switch from the Slow ring to the Fast ring as a

4. You took exception to that and called me names.
5. You made the bald, untested statement that rolling back to 10041 put him
back to the Slow ring.
6. I actually tested this and proved that this is not the case. A roll back
from 10061 to 10041 resulted in me still being in the Fast ring.
7. You post links to two web sites that have stories that have absolutely
nothing at all to do with whether or not a roll back changes one from the
Fast ring to the Slow ring. A roll back should put you back in the ring you
were in prior to the upgrade. Since the OP went from 10041 to 10061
through Windows Update, he must have been on the Fast ring when still
running 10041. It stands to reason that a roll back would result in him
still being in the Fast ring after the roll back is complete.
It is great that you post here but posting baldly incorrect, untested
advice based on nothing more than supposition doesn't help anyone when it
is clearly wrong.

Opening the Windows Task Manager and killing the PSE process is not a solution!
(Context: I want to start PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe from another program with an image filename as command line argument. This other program waits in background until PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe has finished and pops up again after that. Since PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe continues to run silently in background, the other program will never come back.)

Apple only supports Windows on certain hardware.

Apple provides their framework for Windows to run on a Mac, a piece of software called a Hybrid MBR that bridges the gap between how Windows reads the drive partition table (MBR) and EFI/GUID partition table that Mac's use.
It doesn't mean Windows can't run on your Mac, a third party solution called rEFIt will also bridge the gap and allow booting of more that just Windows, Linux as well for a triple booting computer.
Your hardware has to meet the other requirements the second and third operating system needs as as being able to install drivers that will work for your hardware, especially the fans or they will run loud and fast by default.

This above is a advanced procedure which requires knowledge how computers and various operating systems, drive formats and so forth work.
I even admit I don't know everything myself, but I experiment on a separate piece of Mac hardware (out of warranty/AppleCare) designed for this purpose so in case something screws up I'm not taking down my only machine and can use the other to get online and find solutions.
There is a very high potential for losing your data if your using advanced/non-Apple methods to install Windows on your only Mac where Apple doesn't support it. Also one shouldn't be doing this on Mac hardware that is under AppleCare or warranty as it might be voided. Proceed at your own risk and education.

If you want to make the itunes tab so you can see the dock
you press the
esc
button if your in full screen mode
if you want to get into full screen mode you press the arrows facing away from eachother in the top right corner
there is another way to get to the normal tab if your in full screen
make the curser go right up to the top of the screen and it will show the apple tab
it will have two arrows facing together highlited in blue

According to your description, could you please post the summary and detail logs for further analysis? By default, the logs can be found in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log.
Usually, the error occurs when the Windows Installer Service is not running or the Windows Installer registry settings are corrupted. I recommend you reset the Windows Installer Service settings in the registry and restart the Windows Installer Service,
then reinstall SQL Server 2008 R2. For more details, please review this similar

That has never been a feature of Mac OS X, but I believe there was some kind of third-party software that could add that capability. i don't recall what its name is, but you must have had that installed, and it either isn't installed anymore (perhaps removed as incompatible?) or is not working properly in Mountain Lion.

It would be better if you could connect the two Macs via a hard wired LAN to copy the library from the Mac Pro to the MacBook. Wireless connections can have momentary dropouts which could affect the reliable copying of files.
If you do go with Air Drop be sure to open and inspect the copied library closely to confirm it was a successulf copy.
