Ide 2 controller not detect

hi, THIS IS NOT MSI PRODUCT,BUT  I NEED YOUR HELP ,AND IDEA
my intel SE440BX ide 2 cannot detect my cd-rom,and i try to read from windows(windows 98SE)device manager the secondary ide controller not detect, but at cMOS the both of ide was enable ,the CDROM is working ,pls help me.
IF can't use ,do your know the configure the creative Sound blaster 16(CT2910)the IDE port, can your show the method

does the cd-rom detect on bootup when you set the secondary master/slave to auto-detect?
When you say that the secondary ide not detect in windows, do you mean that you only get a primary ide controller?  Try going into the Main IDE controller properties (can't remember what it's called in 98), and make sure that both ide channels are enabled, this is done in device manager, it's in the same section as the primary/secondary ide controller's are.

  • Xboxdrv controller not detected by Escape Goat 2

I'm trying to use the xboxdrv driver (for my xbox 360 controller) instead of the xpad driver and I'm having some issues with it not being detected by Escape Goat 2. Here are my results:
Steam + Escape Goat 2 + Xpad = Controller detected and works fine
(i.e. ran escape goat 2 from steam)
Steam + Big picture mode + xboxdrv = works fine
Steam + other linux games (e.g. towerfall ascension) + xboxdrv = works fine
Steam + Escape Goat 2 + xboxdrv = controller not detected
Escape Goat 2 + xboxdrv = works fine
(i.e. ran escape goat 2 from outside of steam)
I think the last result is most interesting.
Any ideas on why it's not being detected when run via steam?

  • Second IDE controller not seen, Blade 150

On our Blade 150, on the first IDE bus I have a hard drive and a DVD recorder. On the second IDE bus I have another hard drive. The second bus is not seen at all. If I do a stop-a, probe-scsi-all the drive on the second controller is not seen. If I swap the two hard drives I get the same results; drives on the first bus are seen, drives on the second bus are not seen. I have also tried a new cable. Do I need to enable the second IDE controller somehow? Am I overlooking something? My goal is to make this a multi-boot machine and use an alias to choose which drive to boot from.

Thank you for the tip, I gave this a shot. I took all the defaults up to the point where it asked if I wanted to rebuild the path_to_inst file, where I answered yes. Then it asked for the physical name of the root device, I took the default which looked correct. Then it gave me the same error as before, "/dev/dsk/c0t2d0s6 or /usr, no such file or directory" and the boot failed. I then rebooted again and it cannot find the path_to_inst file so aparently it did not get far enough to save the new file.
Just to clarify what I believe the problem is, here is my layout:
c0t0d0sX --> Solaris 9 install, boots and runs great, c0t2d0sX listed under both /dev/dsk and /dev/rdsk, c0t2d0sX will mount just fine when running Solaris 9 so the disk looks OK
c0t2d0sX --> Solaris 8 install, OS was installed when disk was in c0t0d0 location then the disk was moved to c0t2d0 (first disk, second IDE bus), now has problems booting, c0t2d0sX not listed under /dev/dsk or /dev/rdsk on this disk and I think this is the problem.

  • Initio INI-9090U SCSI controller not detected

I'm having a problem with my G4 and it detecting my Initio INI-9090U controller. From what I've read so far, it doesn't look promising to get it running on OSX 10.3.9. I'm new to MAC (PC tech) but I am getting around and feel more comfortable with using it. Initio is not clear on how to update the firmware if at all possble within 10.3.9. I have tried updating the firmware witn 0S 9.1 with no luck yet.
    http://www.initio.com/support/index-download.htm
On a side note, I have an Advansys ABP-915 that is MAC compatible but can't get that to run either. It looks like this one first needs a firmware update too. I ran there install app and it loaded a bunch of drivers and utilities on the root of my startup disk (chosen localtion) but none of the utilities seem to be correct for the card I have.
To explain before anyone asks, I am not really that interested in buying a new card. The G4 was given to me from work for learning opportunities in my spare time. I will admit this, its been fun so far.
    Any help would be appriciated.

I don't have URLs, but a number of SCSI cards don't detect well. As an example, if I open System Profiler, it doesn't detect the card or drives attached to it. At least in the "bus" section, in the PCI card section it does see the card (Adaptec 2906)
But, the drives mount at boot and Disk Utility see's the drives and the drives mount and dismount just fine.
A lot of these cards (like mine) will NOT support booting from SCSI for that reason.
I hope this is a little help

  • UCS C240 M3 LFF - Not detecting RAID controller/option ROMs at all?

I've just lodged a service request for this, but as I don't have a service contract I'm not sure how much support I will get from Cisco vs them just replacing the whole unit..
In any case, It's a LFF C240 M3, dual CPU. It was purchased with an LSI2008 SAS Mez card.
    - Mezz card was installed, and all the drives are lighting up, however I am getting no option ROM to boot/see the drives at all. BIOS shows "PCI-E: M" (I'm assuming this is the mezzanine card) as not populated, however I have the option rom set to enabled for this slot. I have no SCU setting, and no software RAID jumper is installed or being used. I have connected the correct SAS cables from the mezz card to the SAS expander.
    - As well as this, I have two PCI-E SSD's that also have option ROMs - these are detected by OS's, however the option roms are not booting despite them being set in BIOS to load.
    - I also have a 10GBE NIC that IS loading its boot rom. Strangely, if I disable the boot rom for the 10GBe NIC, and Enable the boot rom for the PCI-E SSDs, the 10GBE boot rom still loads (If I disable the PCI-E SSD boot roms, the 10GBe boot rom stops loading)
There are possibly 2 issues here - One is that the mainboard/mezz card/both are DoA. The other is that the BIOS is buggy, as enabling and disabling PCI-E slot option roms do not seem to correlate with the correct slots/boot at all.
Any input would be appreciated before I DoA the lot

    Hi Zaira,
The PCIe SSD is a PCI IDE/AHCI controller that has an SSD connected to it.
Further research shows that in AHCI mode, the UCS server will boot the option ROM. The PID is
    VEN: 1B21 DEV: 0612 [0106] SATA Controller [PI 01]
We need to run it in IDE mode however to boot off it. In IDE mode the option ROM does not boot. The PID in IDE mode is:
    VEN: 1B21 DEV: 0611 [0101] IDE Controller [PI 85]
Both ROMS boot fine in all other servers I have tried (SuperMicro, HP and Intel) so I can only assume the UCS is somehow selectively ignoring this boot rom by the PID?
Is there anything I can do here?
    Regards,
    Elliott

  • K7T Turbo2 Not Detecting on IDE scan.

Antex 300w.,MSI K7T Turbo 2,AMD AthlonXP 2000+,300mb SDRAM, Maxtor40G (7200rpm ATA/133),NVidiaGeForceMX/MX-400,52xCD/R-RW,16XDVD ROM,Ultra ATA/133 High Speed Dual Channel Controller,WinXP. When I boot this machine it detects on first screen, IDE Detect, as it should. When it gets to IDE scan screen it shows 0 thru 3 "not detected","press esc to continue or ....... to enter setup. then it shows what I call Scan Disk, white/black  bar line that goes all white to show progress. It then take alot of time to open XP to desktop. BIOS is set at Optimized selection. What am I missing?? Bad Board? Bad Builder (me)???

Think that line is not showing progress of scandisk, but ending time to make a selection of entering setup or select a bootable device...

I didn't find any solution after searching on Google, but it seems there are a few other people experiencing the same problem as me. I haven't actively tried anything yet.
I don't have much experience when it gets to this kind of things, so I hope there are some of you who can help me.
    Thank you!

In case someone else has the same problem, there's actually a package in the AUR that fixes the problem : https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ricoh-e823-fix/
Install it and enables it with systemd and it should work correctly!

  • Additional PCI IDE controller does not work

I have an on-board IDE controller but I have several disks. So I bought an additional PCI IDE controller. However, Solaris 10 does not recognize it and doesn't see any disks on it. (reports "driver not attached "for the device).
Is there a way to make the external PCI controller work?

Hi, I'm having a similar problem and hope there is a solution. In my case, I bought one of the "reported to work" IDE controllers - the adaptec ASH-1233.
The board is not being recognized by Solaris. Running Nevada build 27a.
I followed the directions that Juergen Keil posted, and the directions on bigadmin associated with the card. That includes adding a line to devicedb/master:
pci1095,680 pci-ide msd pci ata.bef "Silicon Image 680 PATA Controller"
Then touching /reconfigure and doing a reboot.
The device is not found and reported in /var/adm/messages. It is shown by prtconv -pv though, with the matching identifier (pci1095,680).
So the device exists but isn't found by Solaris Nevada b27a. Thanks for any advice...

  • (955X Platinum) IDE HDDs on VIA Controller not powering down

    Hello,
I never had this problem on any motherboard that I've had. Currently, I have one SATA HDD connected to Intel ICH7R controller and two IDE HDDs connected to VIA IDE Controller (running in IDE mode). I have set Windows to power down the HDDs after 30 min. of inactivity (through the Screen Saver tab > Power button). SATA HDD does power down after the specified inactivity period. The two other IDE HDDs don't power down and are spinning all the time.
I always keep my PC on and would like the HDDs to power down when I'm out (sometimes days on end). I have FTP and HTTP servers set up and can access my data remotely whenever I need to and hence do not want to turn off the PC when its not in use !
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

pck, the advantage of having your IDE HDD on ICH7's very own IDE because this IDE is channeled directly into the southbridge. However, the VIA RAID controller is sit on top of PCI bus, then only channeled back to the southbridge (ICH7). Somemore, PCI bus is a shared medium with other PCI devices. However, ICH7's very own IDE is dedicated.
And of course, ICH7's very own IDE can support turn off HDD.
and VIA's controller DOES support Optical drives.

  • 915 G combo MoBo does not detect IDE Hard Disk

I assembled a system on 915 G combo MoBo. First time the BIOS recognized them as IDE 3 master/slave. After changing BIOS setting  for ATA/IDE Configuration  as Compatible and Configure SATA  as IDE BIOS detected Master and Slave HDD on IDE 1. But it did not detect my Sony CD writer and Sony DVD ROM drive on IDE 2. When I re-connected 40 GB Samsung HDD as master and DVD ROM drive as slave on IDE 1 BIOS only detected DVD drive as slave on IDE 1 but did not detect HDD saying IDE 1 Master not detected. I tried lot of combinations but same thing repeats. Please suggest me the solution. I want to use 40 GB Samsung HDD and 20 GB Seagate HDD as Master and Slave on IDE 1 and Sony CD-R/RW writer as master and Sony DVD ROM drive as slave on IDE 2. Plese help me out.

  • K7T Turbo2 not detecting IDE devices

I just got this board in yesterday from Newegg.com. Floppy drive, fans, etc work fine. But it will not intiate any IDE devices. Hard drive, cdrom, or zip drive. All cables have been checked, hard drive works great, cdrom/s are fine. All bios settings look correct.
Bios does not detect the cdrom or hard drive. All jumpers set correctly. Stand alone for the WD HD on IDE1, and master for the Cdrom on IDE2.
Have tried the HD on IDE2 also. Nothing works.
Is it a bios problem or a bad MB?
    Thanks for any Ideas.

    Hi,
You try setting the HDD to Master instead of cable select? Make sure you didn't install the IDE cables backwards. Blue header in mobo.

  • "IR Hardware Not Detected" message when trying to set up TV on Idea Center A700

When I am trying to set up my computer to get TV from my set top box the computer identifies my signal and shows a small picture of the live TV.  When I click on next I get a message - IR Hardware not detected.  Can someone please tell me to what this refers?  My wireless remote works and the set top box has an IR cable that is only a few feet away.  My TV remote picks it up easily.  Is there more hardware that needs to be bought for the TV to work with this computer?
    Thanks,
    David

Ok, I have now gotten Reader 10 installed, can open files from my desktop but IE 9 keeps crashing when I try to open PDF files even though I exited and relaunched IE 9.  I did take ownership of all the folders containing Reader 10 and then clicked OK when I got the error notice about the shortcut being installed. I did make a copy of the crash error report and it reads as follows:

  • MSI P965 Neo-F IDE Not detected

Hello, i recently installed my p965 with my sata2 hdd, ide hdd and dvdrw, but these last two dont appear in bios, and i do need them to be booted so i can install new OS, i dunno if this is a repeated topic, unfortunatly i searched and no other topic helped me, so i was hoping someone could help me solving this problem.
    Thanks

Connect the SATA drive to one of the Intel controllers (SATA ports 2-5). that way you will be able to see your drive in BIOS. Anything that you'll connect to the IDE controller(witch is controlled by third party controller from Jmicron) wont be shown in the main BIOS, because main BIOS only contains devices that are controlled by Intel southbridge. And that's why you cannot see your DVD/RW and IDE Hard drive in the main BIOS.But with a proper driver installed in windows, this controller works even better then the Intel controllers(better burst rate for the SATA hard drives)
The thing that you should know is that, when you connect two devices with different DMAs on one IDE controller, the controller will set the DMA within the device that have a lower DMA (for example if your IDE hard drive works in UDMA5,and the DVD/RW in UDMA2, both of devices will work in UDMA2, witch will cause low performance for your hard drive, even for your system too). So my advice is that you unplug the IDE HDD,and continue to use only SATA HDD, for better performance.

  • PCMCIA Realtek Ethernet card not detected

Hi, I'm trying to use a PCMCIA Etherner Card with Realtek chip.
If the card it's already plugged when booting, Udev takes 180000 ms to finish and the card doesn't work. If it's plugged while booted, dmesg shows that there's a "something" at SmartCardBus but, again, card doesn't get recognized.
"Ifconfig -a" shows nothing, and I know the card works 'cause I've tryed with an Ubuntu cd and the cards works perfect. I've looked for the modules, and 8139too & 8139cp where loaded, wich I've tryed in arch and still doesn't work, It also detects the same hardware with lspci (Arch detects the Cardbus but not the realtek card, Ubuntu detects both) and lspcmcia.
Ubuntu is using kernel 2.6.27-7 and Arch 2.6.28.

The bradcom is the original eth port wich I'm replacing because stop working long time ago (And I also tryed disabling it from BIOS, and it's the same).
I'm mising something that I should load or run? I've googled a lot, but people just plug the card and that's all :-P. Any idea would be welcomed :-).
    EDIT: Fix title (PMCIA*)

    Nevermind...It's Kernel 2.6.28...I'm a lucky guy, eh? :-(
Booted into Arch Overlod cd and a simple lspci show my shiny new card...Now  i'm going to erase my hole system (it was new anyway) and check if a Suy breaks the drivers again. In that case, i should file a bug somewhere, right?
