Idea centre A310 factory recovery disc needed

hi all ive joined this forum as last hope of getting info i need. I need a factory recovery disc for my idea centre a310 it is running 64bit win 7. i have tried to contact lenovo so many times im sick of it ,i keep getting told the number i need to call is 1800657527 which does not seem to be in service at all.. My a310 power lead fell out during a recovery to try and get rid of the so many glitches i was having, anyway i could not access recovery ,boot mngr was missing etc i tried to get in touch with lenovo for advice but its impossible i ended up having to install a copy of win 7 without all the frills i got with the computer from factory, just to get it up and running (the recovery partition is now gone!) but i would like to put the computer back to its original state .. the computer is only about 7 mnths old              PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a thought which might br relevant, then again not :dunno:
Have you been calling using a mobile phone?  If that's a toll free number it may be being blocked by your service provider.

  • W530 unable to create factory recovery disc's

Hi all, Happy with new W530 but unable to create factory recovery discs.. Searched and found possible solutions in knowledge base and forum but none worked Until know Files for recovery media not found... (although i have two lenovo recovery partitions on SDD) Called support and they offered website to order recovery disc's (not for free???) Ok... then..filling in the necessay forms and providing all data ended up in not able to choose for Dutch language recovey disc's . How to proceed?

In my opinion, there should be a secure way for the owner of the machine to download the images in .ISO format so you can burn them.  Of course information would need to be verified to prove you are entitled to do so, but this doesn't need to be overly complicated.
Don't forget you can always get a Windows 7 disk and use the serial number under your battery to install Windows from scratch.
The only time I use the factory image disk set is if I decide to sell a machine.  I'll image it back to the factory state.  It's a pretty rare event.

  • Can I plug a desk top computer into my Idea Centre A310, and if so how?

I have an Idea Centre which has a great screen, but the centre is running so slowly despite my local pc fixer doing his best to clean it up and using an external HD for most files including photos. So I was wonder if I bought a desk top pc only with say 6-8gb RAM and 1TB HD, could I connect this to the centre just to use the monitor only and if so how? I would get my pc fixer guy to transfer all the info I required off the centre to the desk top pc.

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !
I'm not an owner of your model and I could be wrong, but....... Your A310 does have an HDMI IN port which you should be able to use to receive the video signal from another computer that has an HDMI OUT port.  The problem I see is the HDMI IN port on the A310 wouldn't be a direct signal to the display.  The signal would need to be processed by the A310 before it is displayed on the screen and if you are not happy with the A310 performance I suspect it would effect the display from the second computer as well.
Have you ever had your A310 checked for viruses ?  Or was the performance not to your liking since it was new ?

  • Recovery Disc need for

Laptop has a Black screen 2 flashes at the caps key, tried all the suggestions on the forum nothing is working.
Sadly I dont have a recovery disc.
help needed please, where can I get one are they readily in stock?
    Thank you

    Hi there:
You can try Recovery using the built in Recovery partition present in HDD unless you've formatted or upgraded your laptop:
    http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01867418
The only other option left is to CLEAN INSTALL Windows 7 if your laptop came with Windows 7 pre installed & you can CLEARLY & LEGIBLY read all the 25 characters of product activation key printed in COA sticker on the back of the laptop:
    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html
    http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325/
    From your specs: http://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/HP-G56-100-Notebook-PC-series/4247525/model/4315390/document/c02...
I could understand that it came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, so you can download the ISO from tutorial link given above and make bootable USB - which can be booted from and clean install done.
Additional drivers can be downloaded, copied to another usb and later on installed to system after clean install.

any help will be greatly appreciated
there is an small mini Aeriel  socket on the back of the all in one touchscreen PC and an Aeriel was also supplied with it

    many thanks scott

Are you able to start in Recovery mode ?.   OS X: About OS X Recovery
If so, then after the language choice screen, click Utilities at the top of the screen & choose Terminal.
Once Terminal opens, type resetpassword  then press the enter key.
Choose your user from the list & follow the prompts to create a new password. Then restart the computer normally.
This won't allow you to update app store apps which the previous owner bought, but will let you install new software.
Ideally, you'd erase the HD & reinstall OS X yourself : you may be able to do that from Internet Recovery, but may need original install DVDs,
which Apple will usually supply for a small charge, if you call them with the serial number.
Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery

  • Think Centre M92z factory restore discs

Just purchased my first Lenovo product. Question is: Although the C: backup partition appears to contains the factory restore data, can I simply restore to factory, if needed, from these files or do I need to create backup media (discs) from this partition discs as a source and use those instead. Clealry, in the event of a total failure of the backup partition on the C: drive, it would be a safer bet to be able to boot from and use discs to to restore, but, being optimistic,  is there a path to restore to factory settings just by direct use of the backup partition data?
If so, how would I trigger such a process?
    Thanks
    Dave

The OEM hard disk was 640 GB (5400 RPM).
Yes, If you replace the 320 GB hard disk with a new 640 GB hard disk it should work.

  • Dell Backup and Recovery - Factory Recovery fails, need advice.

    Back story:
I have tried this three times on three separate laptops, with poor results. Windows 7 on two of them and 8.1 one one, on all three the recovery partition is corrupt.I first boot it off of a live disk and backup any desired files. Then I boot, press F8, choose "Repair your computer" and discover that "Dell Factory Image Restore" is not one of the available options... so I boot the pc off of a different live disk and remove a bunch of "viruses", then I boot it off of the internal harddrive. In Windows I find that "Dell Backup and Recovery" may or may not be on the pc. It may or may not have ever been run before. If it is absent I download it and install it. When I run DBaR it tells me it needs to update, don't power off or disconnect the machine from the internet, etc. I then wait HOURS for this part to complete. When done it...

  • Factory Recovery disc

I wish to know how to burn/get them. I bought a new Lenovo PC and it wasn't included in them.

    Hi
If you have a windows 7, then simply open the onekey recovery application and there you would see the option of creating factory defaulr disks.

  • HP 250 G2 unable to use recovery discs

So I purchased this laptop last year at Microcenter and since day 1 I noticed that the amber/white light that turns on when you connect the charger, it never turns white even after living the laptop charging the entire night, so far it doesnt bother me, but I I jus got a bigger hardrive and tried to install win 7 from the recovery discs that I had burned previously and it keeps telling me that the media is not usable in this unit. I even installed the originall hard drive in a enclosure and tried to boot windows so it would recover it from the usb but so far I havent been succesful with anything. I cant find the email address for HP so I can request the factory recovery discs. the laptop came pre intalled with win7 and a cd with windows 8.1 so you can upgrade it anytime but I need win 7 (main reasonwhy I purchased this laptop) any body has had any problems reinstalling windows 7? I would hate for my hard drive to crash and then find out that the recovery discs are useless

    Hello,
Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum.
There is no email to contact HP support. However, there are options for phone support, chat support or ticket support.
    Here is some info:
    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html
    or
    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
If you would like to purchase recovery disck for your machine, you can contact the respective support team.
If your original HDD drive is working fine, you can insert it into the computer.
You can try with Microsoft Windows built-in recovery process (system image) and creating a system recovery disk (then boot from it with the new HDD and apply the image on this HDD)
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-is-a-system-image
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/create-system-image-in-windows-7-8/
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/4241/how-to-create-a-system-image-in-windows-7/
    http://www.howtogeek.com/167984/how-to-create-and-restore-system-image-backups-on-windows-8.1/
Or you can try with CloneZilla:
    http://www.geekyprojects.com/cloning/how-to-use-clonezilla-tutorial/
    http://clonezilla.org/
    http://clonezilla.org/downloads/download.php?branch=stable
If this fails [I doubt, it should work perfectly], you can then try to purchase the recovery disks from HP support.
Let me know if this works/helps

  • Testing recovery discs

Created recovery discs.  Is there a way to test the recovery discs WITHOUT overwriting current system?
That is, how do I KNOW the recovery discs will work when neeed?
    Thank you.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you can justify the time & effort, once you create the Factory Recovery Discs successfully the first time, boot from those discs and immediately do a complete Factory Recovery.
I then do the following: make sure the OS, drivers & any pre-loaded applications are fully functioning (sometimes the factory image has a few problems, usually solved by Lenovo updates); install all required updates from Microsoft, Lenovo and other sources; install other software (and updates) I regularly use and activate it for that machine, if necessary; create non-administrative limited user account(s) for regular use; do all tweaking of OS & program options to your preferences; finally use Lenovo Backup & Restore to backup the system I've created to another set of DVD disks and test the system image by booting from them and doing a complete system restore.
I know this sounds a crazy amount of time and effort, but if you ever have to recreate your system on the same type of hardware, it really does save time, even if you have to install updates realeased after the date you created the system image.
Another thing that saves time & effort with Lenovo updates is to always read the notes for each update available in the Lenovo update application and skip updates where Lenovo is just releasing a package for new product models (ie. no important functional fixes or changes); most Lenovo updates are just to recognize new hardware.
