Idea for apple: iTunes Mix

iTunes mix:
Visualize mirroring iTunes from the middle, so you have 2x play, 2x volume display, 2x playlist and 2x browser mirrored againts eachother. Now you can mix!
Could be just a button at the bottom of the interface: Mix!
So many cafes and pubs use iTunes, this would be great for a lot of users!

  • Is it an idea for Apple to create a fingerprint-scanning home button?

Is it an idea for Apple to create a fingerprint-scanning home button, so the owner can get in without code? And if other people wants in on the iPhone, they need to be added for fingerprint scan, or given the usual 4 number code or the password.
I personally think so, and how cool would'nt it be to see it in a future iPad, iPhone or iPod?

  • New idea for apple

I have a great idea for Apple.  With a market cap fast approaching 600 billion, Apple should consider expanding their product base.  Apple should consider entering the automobile industry.  Apple could specialize in an automobile that revolutionizes the simplicity of what cars are really meant for, transportation.  The vehicle can be as simple as possible and allow passengers to fully integrate any Apple device or product into the design and function.
The vehicle can be totally top secret and be rumored to be the most fuel efficient vehicle in history.  Taking everything into account such as carbon output, battery life, affordability, safety, simplicity and maintenance.
The name can be "Apple Stem" or "Apple Branch" or "Apple Core" or "Apple Seed" or "Apple One, Two, Three, etc., etc.."
The vehicle could and should be marketed for all ages.  One line can be marketed for the first time driver through college.  Special financing can be available that would allow for excellent interest rates while allowing a young teen to establish good credit in the process.
Another line of vehicles could be geared toward the aging population, with full integration of voice map features to help drivers navigate.  The speakers can be mounted in the headrest so the hearing impaired can hear the directions more easily.  This vehicle would also be the most simplistic of all, with room to expand features as appropriate.
I have other ideas as well if you are interested.
    Regards,
    John

Apple does not accept unsolicited ideas. If you insist on sending them your idea according to  Apples policies the idea becomes the property of Apple and you loose all rights to it.
It would be better for you to develop the idea, then if it amounts to anything and Apple is interested they will contact you. (As with Apples current move to acquire Beats Electronics).

I have come up with an idea for apple, but I can not find a place to submit it, it might be a little far-fetched but I am very optimistic.

    Software:
Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or later (intel-based hardware)
    400MB of available disk space
iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match availability may vary by country.
    Hardware:

To play 720p HD video, an iTunes LP, or iTunes Extras, a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or faster processor and 1GB of RAM is required.
To play 1080p HD video, a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or faster processor and 2GB of RAM is required.
Screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater; 1280x800 or greater is required to play an iTunes LP or iTunes Extras
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
Apple combo drive or SuperDrive to create audio, MP3, or back-up CDs; some non-Apple CD-RW recorders may also work

You can run OS X 10.6.8 in an Intel-based MacBook w/ first model, in retail DVD.
But it won't work in a power-pc architecture Mac... see specifications:

    Hopefully this helps.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Some ideas for Apple

Here's some ideas for a future version of iTunes:
Why not have multiple genre listing available? For instance a track can be both 'Soundtrack' and 'Rock', or for crossover genres, both 'soul' and 'funk'.
Also, how about a customisable type of playlist creator that works like this:
You take tracks and join them together in 'trees', by linking them using a kind of rubber band device. The playlist then follows a random path through the music collection, but only following the branches of the tree - so you could get a smooth musical journey from one genre to another: Reggae --> dancehall --> drum n bass --> hardcore --> techno --> house. Or Rock --> Psychedelic rock --> Funk ---> Soul.
I've got a million more ideas like that if you guys at Apple want to offer me a job...

Reflect, since this is a user to user forum only, no one from Apple will see your ideas. This link will tell you how to submit feedback to the iTunes team.

  • IWeb '08 (2.0) Constructive Ideas For Apple?...

In an effort to be more constructive, I suggest these two things as a better way to bring old content into iWeb '08. If you have suggestions for Apple concerning the performance of, or issues with, iWeb '08 (2.0) post them here. Maybe we can think of some things they didn't...
Maybe Apple could do a download from site recovery/update tool/option? After the Domain file is corrupted, and if there is no backup, allow the user to download their previous work from their .Mac website into the Domain file.
Why not just use the contents of the Sites folder on the users iDisk to update the new Domain file instead of relying on the cluttered, bloated old Domain file? It's just web pages, scripts and elements...
Hey Apple! Listening?!? The above ideas are yours to have free of charge!!! Please just make iWeb 2.0 work for everyone! Please...
    Sincerely,
An iWeb '08 Mass Distribution Beta Tester?

Apple will "listen" to your feedback via this form...

  • Would it not be a good idea for Apple to block an iPhone from being restored if in lost mode?

Surely there should be more protection against this kind of thing. I lost my iPhone at the weekend, I believe it fell out of my pocket when I slipped over. I have searched for it where I slipped but cannot find it anywhere so I can only assume someone has picked it up. I immediately went on to iCloud to try and locate the phone, which worked for about a minute until the phone ran out of battery. The location backed up my suspicion that it had been picked up. I then turned on lost mode hoping that it may secure my phone a bit, to later find out that all it takes is for someone to restore the phone on iTunes and I won't be able to track it anymore.
I hope that the person that found my phone may be a good Samaritan and either hand it to the police or if they manage to charge it will see the message I have attempted to leave on lock mode and return it to me, however, I fear that will not be the case.
Would it be that hard for Apple to implement something that would stop a phone from being restored, when in lock mode, until the phone has lock mode turned off?

In the second and third paragraphs where I mentioned 'lock mode' I actually meant to write 'lost mode!'

  • I am so frustrated and can't get Apple to help. I have charges on my bank statement for Apple ITunes and they occur every day or so. I've removed my credit card number but they continue. How can I stop these?  My bank says I have to contact apple.

Please help. How can I get Apple to stop charging my bank for purchases. They are showing up every other day. I removed my credit card number from my account. That has not helped.

  • Bluetooth locking issue ( ideas for apple)

Hi Everybody, i know there are many posts that deal with all the problems of the pod touch individually. But i wanted to make this post about a particular problem that i know it annoys lots of the ipod touch users and that's the bluetooth locking in both the ipod touch & the iphone. i know that apple has allowed some developers to create apps like ( bluetooth photo share ) that, as the name implies, allows the sharing of photos between ipod touches and iphones ONLY. but that's just scratching the surface. bluetooth is a very powerful communication technology that must be put to use to its full extend. i know apple doesn't allow the file sharing using bluetooth due to possible copyrights infringements that may occur and i'm totally with the idea (developers must get the earnings of their hard work and if you can't afford it many other free alternatives are available), but everybody knows that official files ( legally purchased files ) such as mp3s, movies, apps ,..... all have DRM protection included. so why can't apple work a little bit more to develop a software that can determine the DRM protected files and prohibit its transfer or sharing and at the same time allowing me to share a video that i recorded or a song that i remixed with my friends using bluetooth ? also why is the bluetooth functionality limited between ipod touch & iphone only ? it is a technology invented to allow easy sharing between all types of devices ( notebooks,mobilephones,headphones,....) so it should allow file transfer between ipod & iphone & PCs & notebooks & mobil phones ,....!!! at last i'd like to point out that i'm not in any way criticizing apple in a hatred manner, but i'm trying to deliver some ideas that may help apple overcome the shortcoming of the ipod touch & iphone and keeping them the best selling products in their respective categories. i'm so sorry for the length of the post and any misspellings found. hope to hear replies from users and apple officials soon : )

You won't hear from Apple officials here, this is a peer-to-peer support site and polls are not allowed so your post may not stay here.
To send ideas/feedback about the iPhone go here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Developers use the PAN Bluetooth protocol for tethering and photo exchange/game playing between devices.
iTunes Music no longer has DRM. I could be wrong but I do not believe the BT file transfer protocol can differentiate between the type of file that is being exchanged.

  • Ideas for future iTunes improvements

Pardon me if some of these points are already covered, in which case I would appreciate links to solutions.
    1) The iTunes App Store could really use some fine-tuning. The categories are occasionally so broad that fine-tuning searches is difficult. For instance, "Music" is waaaayyyyy too broad not to be broken down into sub-categories, especially given that Mac and Apple are so deeply engrained in the general arts industry. I suggest:
    - Notation (displaying, composing, writing of sheet music);
    - Performance (instruments to play);
    - Recording (obvious);
    - Listening (managing audio files)...
...for starters, with option to apply more than one of these to an app at a time. BTW, I'm sure that experts using other types of apps could make similar statements.
    2) I swear I once found a pull-down menu containing "Previous Apps of the Week," but I can't find it anymore. Well, anyway, it's a good idea, more so if you don't save or memorize all your E-mail newsletters.
    3) In the left sidebar where you see the list of in-app purchase upgrades, it's really annoying not to be able to see the whole title of the upgrade. How about a mouse-over pop-up?
BTW, I normally use iTunes in full-screen at 1920 x 1080, and would appreciate scalable windows within iTunes for in-app file repositories.

Useful info. I never would have seen that there.
I would like to see more instruments (like guitar models), or saved settings. What would be great is if GB could somehow help duplicate settings of an existing track, or offer some idea of how to get there. All the instruments in Magic GB are real instruments (or saved as such) and you can't just delete the track and start playing.
If not in the app, then here would be a good place to store settings with sound files so that people don't have to reinvent the wheel every time they need a new instrument. For example, let's say I want a rockabilly or jazz guitar sound. It would be nice to have a preset configuration with all the settings optimized. For each guitar type (as an example) people could post tricks they have found.
