Idea for rotating (side mount) 20" clear case Cinema?

I've got a 30" ACD as my main display, and an older 20" clear case Cinema that's on the sidelines now. Having both on my desk as-is seems a bit much.
http://www.blakespot.com/images/g53020.jpg
...but if I could somehow side-mount / rotate the 20" to portrait orientation, it might work. My ATI X1900 XT is capable of rotating the screen image (and, yes, I have a DVI-ADC converter). But how to mount?
Looking closely at the screen, it seems there's a symmetrical, white plastic enclosure INSIDE the outer, clear enclosure that contains the legs. Is it possible to get the inner part out, so that one could somehow mount it sideways without the legs all sticking out to the side?
Thanks.
blakespot

Looks like this device might work well to rotate a 20" plastic ACD.

Too late for me, though. I already bought an HP LP2065 4:3 screen (1600x1200) and am using it in portrait orientation (it rotates) to sit aside my 30" ACD.

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • Please Give me Idea for next , prev bt in specific case

    hi
    i have a movieclip with instance name : content
    in this movieclip i have Layer "slides"
    and in frame1 of this layer  i have movieclip called : content
    in the content movieclip i have various frames that i have some image , text , masks  ... like products and want to build something like slideshow !!
    now i want to Create Next , Previous Button to goto next and prev frames of my content ...
    i cant put my buttons in Content and i need to put these button in mc movie clip ( parent movieclip )
    So  i create new Layer and in frame 1 i create 2 buttons name : nextbt and prevbt and use these script :
    nextbt.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToNextFrame);
    function fl_ClickToGoToNextFrame(event:MouseEvent):void
        content.nextFrame();
    prevbt.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToNextFrame);
    function fl_ClickToGoToNextFrame(event:MouseEvent):void
        content.prevFrame();
    but now i have Problem :
    i dont want to show prevbt in first frame or Nextbt in last frames of content or i want to disable it on these frames ...
    thanks so much ...

    Use conditionals to set the visible property based on which frame the movieclip is in.  For instance...
    prevbt.visible = false;
    nextbt.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToNextFrame);
    function fl_ClickToGoToNextFrame(event:MouseEvent):void
         content.nextFrame();
         prevbt.visible = true;
         if(content.currentFrame == content.totalFrames){
            nextbt.visible = false;
    prevbt.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToNextFrame);
    function fl_ClickToGoToNextFrame(event:MouseEvent):void
        content.prevFrame();
         nextbt.visible = true;
         if(content.currentFrame == 1){
            prevbt.visible = false;

  • Looking for a clear case that protects screen and click wheel

    Hi,
    I've got a new 8GB Nano. I'm looking for a case to protect it from general dings and scratches. What I'm looking for is a clear case with screen and click wheel protection. Anyone know where I can find one? So far, all I've been able to find are clear cases that protect the screen but leave the click wheel unprotected. Or is click wheel protection not that that big of a thing?
    Thanks!

    There don't seem to be many cases available yet for the new Nano. I ordered one from iSkins, a company in Canada. You can check their website.

  • Need ideas for a validation concept

    Hello,
    I am a bit helpless about validations on my page!
    I have a page with a lot of items, which are particularly filled with AJAX.
    When a button is pressed these items should be validated before a page process runs. And of course if a validation fails the process should not run.
    The problem is that the error messages of the validations should be displayed in a javascript box and not in the notification area.
    Further I was not able to call a javascript function from a button and the process only runs if the button was pressed an the javascript validation function returns true!
    And one more problem is that the items are filled by AJAX and because of that the value of these items are sometimes different when I try to reference them in the page process to validate the items.
    So I have no idea to create a good validation concept, which creates a javascript box when a validation fails and the page process only runs if all validations return true.
    I hope you have an idea, how I can do that!
    Thank you,
    Tim

    Hello Tim,
    Validation, especially in a web application, should be a two phase process. The first phase should be on the client side, and there you can use JavaScript, especially for the non-db related validations like not null, valid date, numbers only etc. The second phase should take place on the server side, after page submits, mainly because in the "way" from the client to the server things can be changed and tampered with.
    The fact that you are using AJAX doesn't change this practice. Even if you are using select list (and radio groups or checkboxes are on the same category), based on dynamic LOV, do not assure you that the selected values, received by the sever, are legal ones.
    You can use Andy's example for client side validation, but you'll also need server side validation. You should check Patrick blog on that one.
    " The problem is that the error messages of the validations should be displayed in a javascript box and not in the notification area."Why? Server side validation results (at least the built-in ones) can't be displayed in JavaScript boxes, as this is a server side process. APEX practice is that failed validation stops the page processes, so nothing can be changed as long as you have items, which didn't validate correctly. I believe Patrick's solution presents the validation errors in a very friendly manner, although not in a JavaScript box.
    " And one more problem is that the items are filled by AJAX and because of that the value of these items are sometimes different when I try to reference them in the page process to validate the items."You should give us some more specific details on the way you are populating the item, and the page process (and fire point) you are using. In any case, it is possible that your page process relies on session state, and just using AJAX don't necessarily update session state. In these cases, maybe you should initiate session state updates, prior to submitting the page.
    Regards,
    Arie.

  • Zen Clear Case - Wrong Way Rou

    Hi thereFirst post - hopefully I'm in the right forum. This is a very small problem but it's annoying me all the same. I've got the Zen 6GB Player & bought a Clear Case. The problem is that the case won't stand up & I reckon the clip is on the wrong side. If anyone else has the same case, can they confirm the following. The case is in two parts with the red clip attached to the section which has the portion removed for the controls This is the way mine is set up. The case will only stand with the player facing away from me (not ideal ) Am I missing something here

    Purely out of curiousity, I wonder why that is... I mean, I too have noticed that it seems to be the case for portable device wired remotes. It was that way with my old Sony minidisc too.
    Anybody know?

  • Differences between clear case 23' and new 23'

    I am having a hard time finding the differences between the two monitors. my clear case 23' is about 2 years old.

    Hi Matt,
    First off, KEEP your older ADC display. They have much more natural color
    and don't suffer from the pinkness and blue banding on the new Aluminum.
    I have followed the discussions since August of last year and there is no
    end to the color consistency complaints. In fact, Apple has deleted over 1000 messages regarding this. Why? Hmmm. They threw out a lot of helpful
    hints that could have helped their customers.
    I personally bought and returned 7 Alum Cinema 23 displays. Some from Apple, some from Fry's, and others from UCLA Apple store.
    The case is a beautiful design but the interior is different than the old 23.
    The new ones are brighter, more saturated in color and have 2 Firewire and
    2 USB ports available.
    However, they got rid of the system/start up power button and added a power brick with cables waving all over the place.
    I hopoed they would have solved the production problem by now but it seems
    that too few people are complaining ( graphic designers/video editors ).
    I gave up and just bought a one year old Plastic 23 display for $1000.
    I love it. The only thing I don't like is that the whites are a little yellowish
    due to its lower brightness specs ( 230 nits vs. 270 nits on the new one.
    The way to see the color issues with an Alum model is to set the desktop to
    a neutral gray. Or, simply drag a small image of gray (perhaps open up the little gray jpg located in Library/Desktop Pictures/Solids) across the screen.
    The left side will look a little pink and it will change to a blueish tone as you move to the right.
    Or better yet, open the Apple display calibrator, look at the Apple icon and
    move the window to the extreme left and right.
    It is only visible clearly in these circumstances but most people don't care.
    Considering the price drops it might be nice to get a new one but all I
    know is all the motion graphics studios I work at use the old monitors.
    It also is no coincidence that this past weekend Apple sold out of refurbished
    Plastic Cinema 23 in 24 hrs, while the Alum refurbs just sat.
    Take a look at the specials. They always have something good.
    Good luck to you. Hopefully, I won't be deleted for voicing my opinions.
    I'm a diehard Mac user and really this Alum 23 monitor is the first thing I
    ever complained about.

  • Error 1074395241: The template descriptor does not contain data required for rotation-invariant matching.

    Hello all,
    I am using the IMAQ Match Pattern 4 to detect the rotation angle of a template image. However, it shows the error: "Error 1074395241: The template descriptor does not contain data required for rotation-invariant matching." What is the problem exactly? How to solve this? The details are explained below.
    My project is a little bit complicated. Part of the block diagram containing the IMAQ Match Pattern 4 is shown below:
    The source image is a series of frames of images read from an AVI video (I used a for loop to process the images frame by frame). The template image is a selected region of the first frame. So it means, the user selected the object of ineterst in the first frame of the video, and in each of the following frames, we need to find the matched object of interest & determine its rotation angle. When I run the block diagram shown above, it does not have any error. However, it shows the rotation angle as zero no matter what it "really" is. Therefore, I changed the block diagram by adding the parameters, shown below:
    But in this case, when I run it, it shows the error that I have indicated in the subject line.
    If you need more details about my project to identify the problem, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    -Please go through pattern matching example which comes along with labview fiirst
    Go to labview Help>>Find Examples and you can search for example.
    -You have create template with angle range and what type of pattern matching you want use.
    -For this you have to use IMAQ Learn Pattern before using IMAQ Match Pattern 4

  • Can you help me with Page Layout and/or Design ideas for a software manual?

    Greetings,
    I am a new InDesign user, and am converting a software manual that I created in MS Word into InDesign. It will be converted to a pdf to view online. I have the basics (3 master pages, page numbers, running headers, 2column pages with text boxes on the left and screenshots on the right), but I want to make it look prettier. Could you please give me some ideas on page layout and/or design to make it look better or more creative?
    A few things that I am considering: borders around screenshots, a watermark, a logo next to the page numbers, different size/type of fonts, etc.
    I am open to any suggestions to make this look better. However, please understand that I am new to InDesign. With that being said, please tell me a few steps when you mention your tips. Thank you!

    Take a look at a few websites on Cannons of Page Construction.
    I think the best idea for you is to look at a few software manuals and take tips from how they accomplished the layouts.
    I'm not saying to copy them - but rather see what works and doesn't work, what worked for them might not necessarily work for you - research some layouts.
    Fonts/type/sizes etc. are pretty much ambigious without context - is this a software manual for kids (soft cuddly big fonts easy to read), technical (small, tight spacing etc), Adult friendly (smooth, crisp clear, well spaced), elderly (large elegant fonts).
    It all really depends on your demographic audience.
    Being new to InDesign I suggest you take up Sandy Cohens Quickstart Visual Guide.
    I think you should look at Michael Murphys Book on Styles
    And you should definitely get your printer (the guys bulk printing) the booklet for you on board from the start to work out optimal sizes to suit their printing presses and workflow etc. And to ensure that you are setup correctly in page sizes, margins, safe type areas, colour profiles and a few other things that your printers prepress can help you with.

    discrete graphics are great and i believe that both Intel and AMD have made great recent leaps in this architecture and i give them both respect.
    i believe low cas is the way to go for memory to assist in optimal multi-core usage and rendering capability.
    3-d technology looks amazing to me although i have yet to try it out myself as well as a lot of the newest touch screens.
    i would like to see 4-8 system threads with high physics per thread and as low of frequency as possible for less power draw after all if we are going to be innovative we should be energy efficient at the same time.
    my point of view is from a gamers and over clocking perspective with little understanding of the hard work that goes into the programming and server end of the computing industry.

    In before Mike!
    Unfortunately your post is off topic here, in the TechNet Site Feedback forum, because it is not Feedback about the TechNet Website or Subscription.  This is a standard response I’ve written up in advance to help many people (thousands, really.)
    who post their question in this forum in error, but please don’t ignore it.  The links I share below I’ve collected to help you get right where you need to go with your issue.
    For technical issues with Microsoft products that you would run into as an
    end user of those products, one great source of info and help is
    http://answers.microsoft.com, which has sections for Windows, Hotmail, Office, IE, and other products. Office related forums are also here:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/support/contact-us-FX103894077.aspx
    For Technical issues with Microsoft products that you might have as an
    IT professional (like technical installation issues, or other IT issues), you should head to the TechNet Discussion forums at
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-us, and search for your product name.
    For issues with products you might have as a Developer (like how to talk to APIs, what version of software do what, or other developer issues), you should head to the MSDN discussion forums at
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-us, and search for your product or issue.
    If you’re asking a question particularly about one of the Microsoft Dynamics products, a great place to start is here:
    http://community.dynamics.com/
    If you really think your issue is related to the subscription or the TechNet Website, and I screwed up, I apologize!  Please repost your question to the discussion forum and include much more detail about your problem, that could include screenshots
    of the issue (do not include subscription information or product keys in your screenshots!), and/or links to the problem you’re seeing.
    If you really had no idea where to post this question but you still posted it here, you still shouldn’t have because we have a forum just for you!  It’s called the Where is the forum for…? forum and it’s here:
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/whatforum/
    Moving to off topic.
    Thanks, Mike

  • Creative ideas for Remote Backups and Working from Home??

    Here's my problem in a nutshell:
    My primary workstation is at my office where all my important files are stored. I backup once a month onto an external firewire drive which I (usually) keep off location in case of fire/theft etc.
    In the future I'm going to need to conduct about 75% of my work from my office and the remainder from home. I'd like to be able to work on a file at my office. Go home. Sleep. And be able to work on the same file from home the next morning.
    Any ideas for how I should do this? One solution I had was to run a nightly backup of my office computer (a tower) to a remote firewire drive at home (basically a clone). I could then plugin into the firewire drive with my laptop. This would also serve as a remote backup of my client's files.
    Does this make sense? And if so, does anyone have any suggestions or pointers in terms of easy-to-use backup software. And how complicated would it be to set this up to a remote drive? And will there be problems with remotely backing us, say, a 500 MB file?
    Cheers!

    What O/Ss are involved; are they both OS X? Home OS X, work Windows?
    Many people telecommute by running the applications remotely, with a display server connecting their application to the system they're using. For instance, my work system is Linux; all applications use X windows as their display interface. My home system is OS X, which includes an optional X windows display server. Most of the time, when I need to work from home, I run a VPN client and use 'ssh -X' from an xterm under X on OS X to log in to my office system; and then I can run any application on my office system and have it display on my OS X system.
    Similar solutions exist for most common OSs. Windows systems can run VNC or Citrix to export their display to clients that can run on OS X, Linux, or Windows; OS X can run Remote Desktop to export their display to clients that can run on Linux or OS X; etc.
