Idea Tab A3000, Driver Problem

Hi.. I have two major issue for my Idae Tab 3000H having double SIM without calling facility.
1) My Idea pad A3000H is not installing while connecting to the USB port in the OFF mode.
2) Though the hardware is there but I couldnot call as there is no calling facility even with double SIM.
Both the problems are quite irritating as I couldnot access programs like whatsapp. Please suggest me the remedy of my problems (problem 1 and problem 2)

It's distinguishing feature is the dual SIM card function - a rare find in tablets.
The latest firmware version is 131112 with full Call(voice) functions here in the Philippines (I believe in Asia).

You can connect A3000 to the PC's port with the cable provided for data transferring with the PC. There are 3 connection methods available, USB storage, Media device (MTP) and Camera (PTP)

Check USB debugging
back to Settings

tap 3 vertical square's icon(Advanced menu) on top left
tap USB computer connection
CONNECT AS:
-USB storage
-Media device
-Camera
System

Idea Tab S5000 touch problem

Hello all. I'm new to Lenovo community forum. I have an Idea Tab S5000,which I purchased from Amazon on April third this year Tthe touchscreen suddenly became unresponsive. I tried the factory reset and it worked untill the next time tried to log into tablet, then back to not working. Now my tablet sits on the lock screen and wont recognize any touch on the screen Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. When I did the factory reset, the lines of text were all in chinese, so I'm not sure what I did to get it to let me login once.

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
From your observation, I suspect a faulty Touch Panel.
Can you try the following:
1. Press and hold the power button for 10-15secs until the tablet turns off.
2. Turn ON the table and press both the Vol+ and the Vol- keys while the tablet is booting. You will then see a recovery menu similar to one of the images below. Try and run the recovery one more time and observe.

In addition, pressing Vol+ while the tablet is booting up will go to a device diagnostic menu where you can tests the device hardware.
If the keys above doesn't work or if recovery still doesn't fix the touchscreen problem then I recommend you contact lenovo and report the issue.

Dual IDE CD-ROM drive problem

I just assembled my system using a K9A motherboard. My only hard drive is a SATA drive. I have a DVD-ROM and a DVD-RW on the IDE port (master and slave) Windows sees both drives, but Roxio won't see either. Also, if I try to flash the firmware on the DVD-Rom drive, it doesn't show up because it's configured by the system as pri-master, and the DVD-RW as pri-slave. I am thinking this is also Roxio's problem.
I may be a complete noob here, but is there something I have configured wrong? ATI chipset drivers are installed and updated.

Idea tab A3000 Streaming live TV

I have dipped my toe into the tablet water, with the A3000 for the specific purpose of streaming live TV and online video to my TV via a dongle.
I have BT infinity WIFI with a excelant signal and 24.6Mb download speed.
You tube and other online video works with no problems at all, no buffering, no drop outs.
I have tried the following apps:-
BBCi player (including the required plug in)
TV catchup
TV guide
They all do the same thing, the live program plays for around 2 minutes then either the picture dissapears, it buffers or an error message comes up.
Is there a setting I need to change in the tablet menu? Any help appreciated.

I had a go with my UK spec A3000, I have the same problem on iPlayer but not on TVcatchup or SkyGo, playing the same BBC streams. iPlayer was fine on non-live video. I tried BBC1 and BBCnews. Since I use TVcatchup or SkyGo for most of my tablet based watching I had never experienced the problem until you drew it my my attention.
Table firmware is A3000_A422_003_026_130823_WW_SMS_FUSE
Internet connection is Sky ADSL, 23Mb clocking rate to the exchange (I'm only 200 meters away).
I'll watch out for this in the future.

as an a3000 owner that issue has came up with mine try resetting ur machine and selecting it back to auto rotate on issue should its self if not find a repair tech buy DO NOT use lenovo they will mess it up and refuse to fix it they have had mine for a month and refuse to fix there screw up also don't use geeksquad all they will do is over charge you and send it to lenovo so try a local shop or something if the previously stated fix does not work

Idea Tab A3000 can't read SIM 1

I have just recently passed this table to my kid to use. It was working flawlessly for me since i had it. Both the sim card 1 and 2 worked. The 3g and the 2g worked.
Yesterday i had a full factory reset before giving it to my daughter. When we put her simcard in slot one. It keeps saying that there is no sim. So we tried putting it in sim 2. It worked! But she wants 3g, 2g is something she can't live with lol. Then we put it back to sim 1. Still not detecting
We took her brother's sim card and put it in slot 1. It worked! With 3g all functioning. But when we put her sim inside again to slot 1. It was still not detecting
We just came back from requesting a new sim card for her number. It still doesnt work.. OH GOOD HEAVENS. I am about to loose my mind. What could be wrong?
I don't think the sim tray is faulty coz it reads mine and my son's sim card perfectly. I don't think its the sim thats faulty, we just changed it to a new one!
Can anyone help me?

i found out by chance that the Skype extension was causing this problem when I uninstalled it because of problems with Google Maps. Now all is OK.

Annoying IDE DVD Drive problem...

I just put together a new gaming system yesterday. However I've been having an annoying problem so far with my IDE LG DVD writer not being able to read CDs/DVDs properly.
I try to install different games/programs and after a lil while I'll get an error saying"FileError: retry?" I have tried using the setup files with autorun disabled.
My specs are-
MSI K8n NEO4 Mobo
1 Gig Corsair Ram
300 Gig SATA MAxtor HD
256mb XFX GF 7800GT
A64 3500+
So here is what I've tried so far.
Opened up the case drive set to master, plugged into master IDE cable, verified this in the BIOS.
Windows installed fine on the same dvd writer drive with no errors at all. It seems only after installing the Nforce IDE drivers that this occurred. I tried removing just the Nforce IDE drivers using add/remove programs but the problem still persists. I am sure this dvd writer works as it works in other computers and successfully installed windows onto the machine, I then tried reinstalling windows a second time just to make sure...same problem. When the Nforce driver was installed I checked and it said ultradma 33. I put it in PIO and the same problem continued.
I know for a fact my cds are good as they are all originals and work in other machines with no scratches.
After removing the Nforce IDE drivers the Windows IDE drivers installed and I rebooted, same problem.
I am really stumped here all I have in the PC are 1 SATA Hard Drive and 1 IDE DVD writer connected to their respective master cables and proper jumper settings...everything looks good in the BIOS.
One other thing I also have an external USB 2.0 Dvd Writer, I use this on another machine. I tried it as well in the machine and I get the same problem. I know it isn't the USB connection since I have other devices on the USB that work fine.
Any ideas? :S

Your problem is in the nvidia drivers ... you should not uninstall the drivers via add/remove programs but instead go to system >> hardware >> IDE >> properties >> update driver >> choose a driver >> ms or "native", then reboot (in English slightly other wordings might be used).

Aperture crashes when doing enhancements crashed at thread 35 which i think is a display driver problem any ideas folks

Aperture keeps crashing every time I try and do some auto enhancements crash log comes up with crashed at thread 35 or 36 which seems to point to a display driver problem imac 2.16 intel core 2 duo 3gb ram os x 10.6.7.
This is making aperture unusable I might go back to lightroom never had these problems with it.

Sound Card Problem, or Driver Problem? Games crash, when they didn't befo

Not sure what the problem is, but seems to be a sound problem of some sort. I have just re-installed Vista 64. And now when I try to play BF242, the game crashes before I even see any kind of gameplay. It also instantly crashes when I click on the audio options tab. I have installed the latest drivers from the site. I have even uninstalled them, and launched the game without any drivers, and the game runs perfectly fine, but only without sound.
But I've been able to play BF242 before, but it would evenutally crash after a while, but at least I was able to get into the game. So knowing that Ive been able to play before, and it played without any drivers, I dug up some drivers that I know I had working at one point when the game was playing. And it still crashes before it gets into the game.
So this makes me wonder, is this really a driver problem or a soundcard problem?
All sounds are perfectly fine elsware, music, movies, OS tones, web, etc. Crysis runs perfectly fine. Company of Heros Crashes, Quake Wars crashed about 0 mins into a game. Team Fortress 2 runs perfectly fine. Battlefield 2 instantly crashes.

Any help would be great. I'd hate to go buy a new sound card just to try it, unless I had a pretty good idea that it was the issue.

I think I found the problem. It was the physical card itself. I pulled my old Audialogy card out of my old machine, and swapped it. Now BF242 runs.
And mine never went to a black screen, and had to hard reset. It just dumped right to the desktop with a message "bf242.exe has stopped working."

Iomega Hard Drive Problem

Hi I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post on as i have an issue with an external drive if i am in the wrong place could someone point me in the right direction please

If this is the right place the problem i am having is this
I bought a 1TB iomega external hard drive from apple I plugged it into my mac & all was working perfect the problem started when i plugged it in via USB to my windows laptop i have just bought a Macbook Pro so all i wanted to do is get some files from my old laptop
This didnt work all it did was ask me to format the drive which i didnt do as i had already put over 400GB on there from my Powermacs hard drive & an old formec hard drive i was intending to get rid of a lot of this but i was trying to get everything in one place to start sorting through it. So i took it out of my windows laptop & put it back into my Powermac via Firewire now it wont show up on my desktop & in disk utility i can see the hard drive but in the erase or partition tabs the drive is listed as an MSDOS drive
I have tried verifying the disk no joy & i have also tried to repair the disk again no joy
So i now have a situation where the windows laptop is asking me to hard drive to format the drive & my mac wont even entertain it
all i want is to get most of the 400GB i have on there & then i'll format it no probs

Ok Time is getting a bit tight now i kind of need some files from this hard drive this week.
In disk utility under erase tab there is a security options button here i get a pop up window with 4 options on there now the first option is,
Don't Erase Data
Erases directory information so that data is no longer accessible. The data is left unchanged on disk until its disk space is required & is written over. Data is potentially recoverable until then. This option is the quickest but least secure.
From what i can gather if i check this & perform an erase i can recover the data afterwards as long as i don't overwrite anything.
My question now is if i perform the erase how can i recover my data is this something i can perform myself or will i need to take it to someone to do this for me.

Driver problems with a K7N415 Pro

I had to reload WinXP on my computer with a MSI K7N415 Pro motherboard and I am having a problem loading the drivers for the following imbedded hardware:
Ethernet controller
Audio codec interface
MCP audio processing unit
PCI system management
PCI standard RAM controller
I installed the XP drivers from the MSI CD/ROM, but the drivers are not being detected at restart. I have tried to update the drivers from device manager, but get the following error:
There was a problem installing this hardware
(device name)
An error occurred during the installation of the device
Access denied
Does any one know what I can do?

Hi,
When you say you installed the XP drivers, was it an automatic install (i.e did you click on the CD and it installed all drivers at once). I had initial problems with this multi-driver install approach when I first started using XP and the included MSI driver CD.
If this is the case then I think you could install them (the drivers) individually (this helped me). Firstly, you'll have to remove any drivers that have been installed (for the nForce embedded devices) and uninstall any of the nforce devices from Control Panel > System > Hardware (Tab)> Device Manager.
On reboot, wait for Windows to "Detect new hardware" but instead of using the "Automatic Search for drivers" manually point the install program to the directory where the (relevant) driver resides (on your MSI Driver CD). It may be a good idea, to only install your Ethernet drivers and then see if you can access the net - then, if you are able - you can download the nVidia unified drivers and install the rest.
BTW, you haven't got anything "active" attached to your LAN port have you (cable modem etc.)? If so, unplug it before installing drivers.
As I mentioned earlier, I have had problems with XP and MSI drivers but as I'm not using the same MoBo as you, I thought them unrelated - at this point though, I'm convinced you've a driver problem and it's not hardware related (though I could be wrong - it wouldn't be the first time). I originally had problems with my onboard sound and I was unable to install drivers - after much faffing about though, I managed it in the end.

Did you go into iTunes to change the location of your media files? if not you will need to go into iTunes and click on preference and select the advance tab then click the iTunes Media folder location. Select the location of your on external hard drive.

HP Color LaserJet 5550 and Tiger (10.4.11) Driver Problem

I have recently acquired a Color LaserJet 5550hdn. I have updated all drivers and firmware available from the HP Website (Printer Driver, 5550 firmware and Jetdirect 610n firmware). The printer has been factory reset/cold reset etc. to purge any previous custom settings. I am using a PowerMac G4 Quicksilver (933mhz) and Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.11). I have made some test prints from both Preview and iPhoto and all have been dark and muddy with respect to colors. I have printed the same images from my wife's PC with HP's PCL 6 Driver for Windows XP and achieve satisfactory results with respect to color (that is to say, without fooling with any color settings in the driver, the image is at least within 10% of the color gamut compared to the screen image). Setting up the printer with the HP Postscript Driver for XP yields similar results as the Mac, dark and muddy colors. So is this a problem with the HP Postscript Driver? Is this a Mac OS X Tiger problem? Do users have color problems with the printer running the Leopard driver?
I previously owned a HP Color LaserJet 8550 (utilizing the same HP Driver for Mac OS X that the 5550 uses) and had default images (no fooling with any color settings in the driver) that were acceptable, again within 10% or less of the screen image color gamut.
I have also downloaded HP's ICC color profiles (CMYK and sRGB) and put them in library/printers/hp/profiles.
With respect to the driver itself, there are two areas in the print dialogue box which seem to have a bearing on color. One is Colorsync and the other is Color Options. Colorsync has two choices ('Standard' and 'In Printer') and I chose 'In Printer' to I assume bypass any Colorsync Conversion. When 'Standard' is chosen the print summary shows the HP Color LaserJet CMYK profile being used. There seems to be no way of changing the default setting in the Colorsync Utility to HP Color LaserJet sRGB. Not sure if it matters as the output for both 'Standard' and 'In Printer' seem to yield the same results. The options under 'Color Options" in the driver under the 'Show Advanced Options' have choices (Basic, Text, Graphics, Photographs, Advanced) and I have played with these to some extent. Although they seem to have some effect on the image, the print is still dark and muddy with respect to colors.
On a final note I have tried a 'GutenPrint' driver to see if it would yield different results.....there was not one for the 5550 so I used a driver for the Color LaserJet 5500......it would only print in grayscale....the resulting image did not look very promising even if it had printed in color.
Insights on any of the above from the community here would be most helpful!

This is an update to my own post above. I downloaded the Mac OS 9 driver (yes OS 9!, but the QuickSilver is Dual Boot) for the Color LaerJet 5550 and printed (no changes to any of the driver settings) the same image (photo) as I used in Mac OS X. The image was still dark but not as poor from Mac OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger). Although I prefer not to use color management, I used the Colorsync tab in the driver and chose to match to Colorsync with a generic sRGB output profile (no other settings were changed in the HP color options tab). The resulting image was +/- 5% within the color gamut of the screen image (yeah!!!) In Tiger the options under the Colorsync tab in the driver are 'Standard' or 'In Device' and regardless of the choice, the print result is the same, very dark and muted colors. There is no option for sRGB and if set to 'Standard' the print summary always shows a CMYK profile being utilized. Given that the HP Color LaserJet 5550 is an sRGB printer as per HP, perhaps that is a problem? I would assume the 'In Device' option would bypass Colorsync (since there seems to be no other way to turn it off) and use sRGB, but that does not seem to make a difference in the image being printed.
My good success with an OS 9 driver leads me to believe I have a driver problem in Tiger. However, I have no problems with other printers (HP All in One, DesignJet Color Plotter and wide format Epson inkjet....all of which are older) with respect to poor color output. Given this is a current model in the HP line-up and I believe in service during Mac OS X Tiger, it seems hard to fathom other users do/did not experience a problem.
Again, do Leopard users have a problem with color issues on this printer with default driver settings? Does anyone have driver settings/other insights they could share with respect to Tiger to at least get the print image somewaht close to the screen image? As it stands now, regardless of settings, the printed image is dark with muted colors.
Thnaks to anyone who can respond, even if it is to say they have no problems in Leopard/Snow Leopard as I am upgrading to a new Mac soon.

Premiere Pro 2.0 and Windows 7 - Direct Sound Input soundcard driver problem

My XP machine crashed, I reinstalled Premiere Pro 2.0 with Windows 7, and I got the following error: 'The Currently installed soundcard driver does not support Direct Sound Input. Recording audio is not possible.' The soundcard drivers are updated. Any ideas? Here's what I have: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor 3.40 GHz 8 GB, 64 bit. Thank you for looking.

Insert Micropone or any jack in Micropone Input or Aux Input, on your sound card or motherboard !
