  • IdeaPad S205 Battery Not Charging problem

Hello, I have a Lenovo IdeaPad S205, and have run into some trouble. The charger recently stopped working properly, and I bought a replacement - the original charger has an output of 20V, whereas the replacement has an output of 19V. However, I wouldn't think this would make a difference. This said, when I plugged in the new charger, it said "plugged in, not charging". I took the battery out, and put it back in again, as I have had a similar trouble before, and doing this fixed it. The system stayed running while the battery was out, and I've noticed the battery percentage is not going down while this replacement is plugged in. Also, the original now seems to do the same - "plugged in, not charging". Can anyone offer any assistance?

    hi Ben_R,
That's odd. Can you try to::
    1. Turn the computer ON just with the AC adapter and when Windows loads up, slide the battery back in place and observe.
    2. Turn off the machine with the battery inserted. While the machine is off, plug the AC adapter and observe if the battery gets charged.

  • Lenovo ideapad S400, battery not charging when plugged in

Hi, I had the problem where the battery didn't charge at all even if it was connected in the right way and the charger was plugged in. So I started to search internet for possible solutions. Those I found where to 1) disable alt uninstall ac and acpi adapter in Windows Device Manager. Restart computer.. Not charging problem is related to some Windows issue. 2) Choose the alternative "maximum battery life" in Lenovo Energy management.. Neither worked after several and time consuming tries... The problem here is Lenovos "smart" Energy management system that prevents the computer from charging the battery to "save it".. Solution: Uninstall Energy Management (Publisher: Lenovo) under Program and Features in Windows Control Panel and the problem is solved.. And don't reinstall this **bleep**ty program again....

I should note that this unit is pretty new: purchased in august 2012.

  • UK USB power adaptor not Charging

I bought an iPhone 3G last week from the O2 shop - I have tried the UK 3 pin plug in charger with the phone - but it does not charge, cable supplied works when plugs into USB on my Macs.
I have tried the adaptor with my 5Gen ipod, still no charge.
Is there a return policy? - who should I chase for the replacement, O2 or apple store.

Applecare suggested the best option is to take the adaptor into an apple store for a no hassle exchange accessory...
She said if I wanted to exchange it at 02 it would have to be a replacement boxed product Handset and all, which involves backing up all my data etc...
Trip to local store is not a problem!

  • IdeaPad S100 does not start or charge

    Dear Lenovo,
Last year on February 2nd, I bought a Lenovo IdeaPad S100 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I have used it almost
every day and I am very happy with the product.
Last Friday I tried to turn on the IdeaPad, but it did not do anything. It would not start, it would not charge...nothing. I took the battery out for the night, thinking this might solve the problem. Unfortunately, it still did not work.
This afternoon I called Lenovo Australia to tell them about the problem. The gentleman on the phone told me that Lenovo Australia does not sell this product, so that I should contact Lenovo Malaysia.
When I purchased the product last year, I specifically asked them if I would get world wide guarantee and word wide service. This was essential for me, as I travel the world for my work. The answer was: yes! Lenovo Australia however said "No. This warranty and the service is limited. Lenovo Australia cannot do anything for you."
I asked the service desk employee if there was an office in Bali that sells the IdeaPad S100, as I will be going there next week. His answer was: "Have a look on the website to see if there is an office there."
To be honest, I was pretty much flabbergasted by the information Lenovo Australia provided to me. I do not consider this as service, but as moving the problem that YOUR CUSTOMER submits, back to YOUR CUSTOMER.
I would like to know, what Lenovo Australia expects me to do? Send my IdeaPad S100 to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and see if they can solve the problem? Even though it might just be a simple problem, like changing the adapter? If I would summarize the costs of sending this express to Malaysia, paying for the service costs and maybe even having to pay for replacing products, it is probably cheaper for me to purchase a new laptop here in Melbourne, Australia. And I can assure you: it will not be a Lenovo.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
    With kind regards,
    Peggy

It rained in my window last night, on my power strip.  My macbook adaptor (charger) and iphone adaptor were both plugged into the strip.  The power strip is dead.  Iphone is fine.  Macbook will not boot up and charger light doesn't go on. I borrowed another charger and still no luck.  What should I do?  (Charger wasn't plugged into Macbook until I dried it off.)

    Spill Cleaning
And, don't think that just because it was two teaspoons and not a glassful that there is a difference.
Some liquid has just spilled into your Mac. What should you do?
    Do
Immediately shut down the computer and unplug the power cord.
Remove the computer's battery (if you can)
Disconnect any peripherals (printers, iPods, scanners, cameras, etc.)
Lay the computer upside down on paper towels to get as much liquid as possible to drip out.
Note what was spilled on your Mac.
Bring the computer into an Apple store or AASP as soon as possible.
    Don't
Don't try to turn it back on. Liquids can help electrical current move about the components of your Mac in destructive ways.
Don't shake the computer (this will only spread the liquid around).
Don't use a hair dryer on it (even at a low setting a hair dryer will damage sensitive components).
Do not put in a bag of rice in as much as rice will get into the ports and optical drive and do further damage.

  • My iPad is not charging via PC and iTunes on the PC (latest software update, both PC and iPad rebooted) - charges only via AC adaptor

My iPad is not charging via PC and iTunes on the PC (latest software update, both PC and iPad rebooted) - charges only via AC adaptor - any ideas?

The quickest way to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter. When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes.

You'll want to reset your SMC (System Management Controller). Instructions are simple:

    Hi
I have a similar problem. Battery was not working. Macbook needed power lead connected or it died. Went to the Apple shop in Aberdeen. They prescribed a new battery which I bought from them. I have now removed the old battery and installed the new one. The charge indicator on the battery shows 2 of the 5 green lights indicating at least partial charge. The power cable is showing green light only. I have tried two different power cables and both do the same. The battery indicator at top right of screen has an X in it indicating no charging going on. I have followed the instructions in Article HT3964 to reset the SMC, tried resetting the PRAM and NVRAM but it didn't work - I pressed the CMD, shift, P and R keys simultaneously The Article HT1379 referred to the Command-Option-P-R keys. What is the option key? Is it the shift (as in up arrow) key?

  • New IdeaPad U330p / not charging when plugged in

    Hi,
My new IdeaPad U330p stop suddently charging after 6 month of normal use. I can only use the laptop with the power adapter plugged in. The battery indicator shows that the level is between 0 and 2% so when I unplug the power adapter the computer shut down immediately.
I've tested to charge the computer all the night but it doesn't charge at all.
I can only use the computer with the adapter plugged in (it's not a laptop anymore lol).
When the computer is shut down and the adapter is plugged in the battery led is orange.
When the computer is ON and the adapter is plugged in the battery led is blinking orange.
Need some assistance ! Where can I contact the Lenovo support ?

  • New macbook air battery, yet still not charging is it the adaptor that's going as well?

I just got the battery in my mba replaced and I went to go and charge it again and I've tried to charge it. However, it still does not charge. I've tried different outlets and the two pronged vs the three pronged cables and it still won't work. Could it be the charger itself?  I'm hoping it's nothing serious like the logic board or something. I'm going to try another adapter tomorrow, but it would be nice to know if it might be my adapter that's broken. When I plug it in no light turns on, but it is still running off of the adapter, it's just not charging.

I have a mid 2010 15" Macbook pro with Lion installed.
I was running off battery, and I went to plug in a firewire cable, not plugged into anything, and when I inserted it, the computer shut off.
