Ideapad A2019 HDMI out issues

Hi, I recently purchased an HDMI cable for my Ideapad hoping to be able to watch stuff on my monitor from my tablet, but when I plugged the cable in, it didn't work. Only after I forced the cable in and got it into a weird position would the image show up on the monitor, but if I moved the tablet a little bit, it would still drop the signal. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the faulty HDMI out and if it's an easy fix or if I need to bring it somewhere to get it fixed.

Hi bryceoklahoma,
Thanks for posting and welcome to the community. Based from you post this could be due to some settings conflict. Could you go to the control panel > Smart audio and check the setting there is set correctly?
Do let me know.

BACON( seemed to just turn off the Intel hd4600)
    Cable Check
Unplugging the cable and plugging it back in cases the laptop display to flash
    tried different hdmi cable
tried different ports on the tv
Detect feature in intel software and windows doesn't work
tried different ports on the TV
    Notes:
    Bios shows vbios as blank
    VGA works fine
    graphic switching works fine
Any suggestions? or links to updated intel/amd msi drivers i can try

Make the screen you want to play on your 'main monitor' in your screen configuration. (control panel -> displays)
This will allow you to play games on the TV screen. It's the same thing that I do on my GT70.

  • IdeaPad A2019 Microphone Issues - All Tablets

So I have two IdeaPad A2019 Tablets, however what I have noticed is a very annoying defects with BOTH yes both of the tablets that I own. The issue is with the actual intergrated microphones I beleave. When I am in skype call , for a few minutes the caller on the other end can hear me perfectly fine, however after 2-3 minutes, the sound he receives goes jumpy and 'electronic' like where the other caller cannot understand what I am saying at all, sometimes he doesn't even hear anything.
What is funny however, if I knock on the tablet softly near the microphone hole, the sound goes back to normal for 10-15 seconds and goes all laggy jumpy and "robotic" like after that. This is however not a skype issues , because same thing happens when you use any ordinary microphone recording app from the play market. Tested on both tablets that I own , both have this same issue.
    Anybody have any ideas?

    hi igiz,
    Welcome to the Forums.
It seems like the cable that connects to the mainboard to the microphone is grounded. Have you tried contacting lenovo support? (it's most likely a hardware problem)
    Best regards,

  • Macbook Pro 2011 DVI HDMI out does not work with TV when the power cable is connected

My Macbook Pro (Early 2011) DVI HDMI out does not work with TV when the power cable is connected. If get the blue screen and then can use the macbook but nothing is displayed on the TV. If i go into display I can see that there are two screens but nothing displayed on the TV. If i take the power cable out at this point the TV shows the second desktop as expected. If i then reconnect the cable, the screen flickers, as though it is being affected by the power cable, and the screen goes blank on the TV. Only if i remove the DVI cable do i get the blue screen again. If i remove the power cable and reconnect it will do it every single time, so i cannot see it being a TV issue or a minor glitch.
I have had this working previously but at the minute it seems to not be playing ball....any thoughts
    Thanks

  • Can I display EyeTV's live TV over HDMI-out and be able to see my desktop using screen-sharing on a headless mac-mini used as a media-box?

    Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a new mac-mini to replace my current one which acts as an iTunes server and records TV programs using eyeTV. I connect using screen-sharing/VNC to be able to do stuff on it (like handbrake etc.)
I have eyeTV with a satelite receiver and I want to change the setup so that:
    - the new mac-mini continues to work as an iTunes server (and handbrake workhorse)
    - I can use the HDMI output (inc. audio) to show eyeTV's live TV full-screen app
    - I can connect using screen-sharing/VNC to the mac-mini and see my normal desktop to be able to maintain it etc. but this is a headless display (no screen is connected to the display-port).
    - recorded media I'd play through the appleTV2 still + rentals etc. unless anyone knows if eyeTV software can offer up iTunes content? I don't like the eyeTV recordings in general as it seems very slow to me for access when there are lots of recordings and wouldn't be available in other apleTVs in the house AFAIK.
The main benefit that this gives me is that I'd no longer need a seperate satelite box to watch live TV and can add more eyeTV hardware to get additional TV channels all through the same HUD on the TV for ease of access.
Does this seem possible in theory & practice (ie are there any gotcha's to consider?)
    - can I force the HDMI output resolution to 1080i as I go via an amp to the TV and the appleTV2 drops to low-res in this configuration so I have had to find a workaround for that.
    - does the mac-mini have IR input that can be programmed?
    - Does eyeTV software remain stable for long periods?
    - Does the HDMI out have any handshake issues that would need a reset of the display (somehow)?
thanks in advance for any thoughts/contributions
    Lee

I think the easiest way to do this is to have the EyeTV app running in one user account and sent via HDMI to the TV, and use a separate user account for Screen Sharing. Both logins can be active at the same time and with Lion you can connect via screen sharing to which ever login you need.
With regards to the Mac video resolution changing, when it is not the current input on your AV receiver. This is 'normal', if the Mac sees no signal it drops down the a lower level. What you need is to buy a HDMI Detective Plus which tricks the Mac in to always seeing a signal and hence it will not drop down the resolution. See http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=8005
The Mac mini does have an IR receiver. This can be used with the EyeTV app, iTunes, and similar. Yes I believe EyeTV would run for prolonged periods quite happily, it is has been around for a long time and had most of the rough edges polished off. However one issue you will have to deal with is that it does not automatically update its program guide data. For this you might have to write or modify an AppleScript. Elgato support or their user forums will be a lot of help.
You can set EyeTV to convert recordings to an iTunes (Apple TV) compatible format and then delete them from EyeTV.
The HDMI Detective should solve your handshaking problems.

  • Does the iPhone 4S support HDMI- OUT via the digital AV adapter?

Does the 4S support HDMI ->OUT via the digital AV adapter or not?  I read that it does (whether it be mirroring, YouTube video playback, movie playback, etc.) but I'm not having any luck.  I recently tried my AV adapter (that I normally use with my iPad 2) but I get nothing.  When I power cycle the phone after connecting the adapter, I get a error stating that the "accessory is not supported by iPhone".  When I go to play a YouTube video, it shows up on the phone's screen for a second and then disappears.  The LCD TV I am connected to never prompts me for the detection of a new HDMI device being connected" either, do I have no clue what's going on.
    Any ideas? Thought?
Any help to solving this riddle once and for all would be appreciated.
    Thanks and Happy New Year!!
    Andy
    P.S. - my 4S is running iOS 5.0.1 and is a Verizon 16gb model.

The model number on the adaptor is A1388. The link is here:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC953ZM/A?fnode=MTc0MjU4NjE
    I have the iPhone 4s, running 5.0.1 (9A405)
I have also experimented with sequence, and I see no particular order needed to make it work. Generally I get it all plugged in and then swipe the iPhone and in a few moments, the screen appears in mirroring mode. Then if I go to Videos I can play my clips with sound, or I can do Keynote presentations, etc.
So sorry to hear you're having trouble. I imagine you've already double-checked that you're seating it solidly in the dock connector and have a good, working HDMI cable. I am not sure what you mean in your original post about "powering up" the phone. It might also be some Verizon issue, though I don't know what that might be. Is your AV adaptor the Apple branded one?

  • Can I use the HDMI out on a HP ALL IN ONE TOUCHSCREEN Desktop to connect a second monitor with HDMI

Can I use the HDMI out on a HP ALL IN ONE TOUCHSCREEN Desktop to connect a second monitor with HDMI  in without any additional  software or graphics adaptor.  I have a 520-1070
HP - 23" Touch-Screen TouchSmart All-In-One Computer - 8GB Memory - 2TB Hard Drive ? I used a HDMI to HDMI cable and the monitor was not  recognized.

Here are the specs for your HP TouchSmart 520-1070 Desktop Computer. As previously stated your computer Doesn't have a HDMI output, instead it has a HDMI input. This is designed to let you connect a game console, a DVD/Bluray player, etc. to use as a monitor.
If you wish to conect a second monitor to your computer, you will need to use a USB-to-video adapter such as the EVGA UV Plus+ UV39 or EVGA UV Plus+ UV19. Using an adapter like these with the touch feature of your computer may cause issues with pointer control and you may need to disable the touch feature to use "extended desktop".

  • HDMI Audio Issue/Radeon Grapics Card [Solved]

    Hello All,
New user to Arch, been using linux for a little while longer. I'm trying to set my HDMI out as default output, but cannot seem to make it work. I've tried the wiki, forums, and websearches, but none of the methods (and variations thereof) seem to work for me. The hw must work, for I am listening to music as I type via HDMI, but I must go into VLC>Audio Output>HDMI. So if someone could help me out, walk me through it, I would appreciate it very much. I'll post some info below, sorry in advance if it's not everything needed. If you want to assume I am a complete n00b/idiot, I will not be offended. Thanks in advance!

OK, I think I've got a resolution. I used a combination of several wikis to get it right, mainly:
    ALSA-Gentoo Wiki
    ALSA-Arch Wiki
    ATI#HDMI Audio-Arch Wiki
    Kernel Parameters-Arch Wiki
I searched a number of other pages I don't remember right now, but these were the most helpful as I recall. I again added "radeon.audio=1" to /etc/default/grub per the "Kernel Parameters" and "ATI#HDMI Audio" Arch Wikis. I then modeled  my ~/.asoundrc to match the Gentoo Wiki example, with a slight tweak to fit my hardware. That file now looks like this:
    GNU nano 2.2.6 File: ~/.asoundrc
    pcm.!hdmi {
    type hw
    card 0
    device 3
    pcm.!default {
    type plug
    slave {
    pcm "hdmi"
It's been a few days, with rebooting everyday, and so far so good. Audio programs (eg. VLC) and flash content are working just fine. However, speaker-test & aplay -D give no errors and the scripts run, but no audio is actuallly produced. ??? Is this a problem, or can I continue to ignore it?
Anyways I consider this pretty much resolved, and hope this helps anyone else with this issue. Cheers!!!

  • HDMI Out From 27inch iMAC No Longer Has Audio Post Mavericks Upgrade

After upgrading to Mavericks my Mini Displayport->HDMI out is no longer outputting audio.

  • 1D X - Clean HDMI out

Now that we know that the 5D Mark III will be getting clean uncompressed HDMI by April 2013, I think it's time Canon also confirms this feature also will be made available for us who chose to spend even more money on buying the 1D X.
I work with both stills and video, and I bought the 1DX for it's extra low light performance and DR over the 5D3.
Given what we now know, that the much cheaper 5D3 will get clean HDMI out, it will be absolutely unacceptable if the 1DX does not get the same upgrade!! We know it is possible since the 1DC already have this option on 1080p footage.
It would be remarkable if the 1DC and the 5D3 should have clean HDMI out, and the 1DX would not!!
So Canon, please give us who spend all our money on you, what we want!!
    Ola

I'm in the same boat here. I have a 1D X and was under the impression it was a hardware issue for the 5D mkIII and 1D X.
Now I learn that Canon will make clean HDMI reality on the cheaper 5D MkIII? Why not the 1D X?
The only reason would have to be the 1D C, but come on, that camera is 2x the 1D X price, adds 4K and the 35mm crop! Those are things people will pay more money for, not just clean HDMI.

  • HDMI Out Graphics Card

(This is for my friend who's too lazy to create an account)
My friend just got a Mac Pro (standard specs) and hooked it up to a monitor he just got from newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009154
Since it only has HDMI ports, he has it hooked up through an HDMI to DVI adapter, however there is random flickering here and there (which is probably due to the refresh rate, but there's no option to change it other then the one selected). I'm assuming the graphics card can't interface with the display properly causing this flickering to happen every once in a while. Can you reccomend a Graphics Card that has an HDMI out port on it that's good and not too expensive (around $250 range or below)?
    Thanks.

I don't think your assumption (that the graphics card can't interface with the display properly) is accurate. HDMI has the same video signals as DVI, and no real conversion is done.
If you're seeing flickering "once in a while" it is unlikely that it's a problem with the frame rate. I suspect you're seeing a phenomenon other than flickering, like the graphics updating too slowly. If it's flickering due to frame rate issues you'd see it constantly with a white screen. And even then it could still be caused by a bad inverter or even your ambient light source.

  • HDMI Out memory full errors

Almost every time I go to play my HD videos i recorded via the HDMI out port, i get memory full errors.
Even when there are no apps running in the background.
Some times a reboot will help, but not always.
    Is this a bug?

    Hi Kristopher,
Is the GPIB-ENET connected to a larger network, or is this an isolated network just for the GPIB-ENET? Make sure that other network traffic isn't causing a problem. If you can, try connecting the GPIP-ENET directly to a PC using a crossover cable (be sure to set a static IP address on the PC). This should eliminate the hub or any network traffic as the cause. If the issue is only with one particular device, try to remove the other devices to see if you still have the problem. There shouldn't be a memory leak if all other devices are working properly. Try to isolate the cause by removing devices and steps in the network. Good luck.

  • HDMI out on zc706 and zc702

    Hi All,
I ported the HDMI out interface for ZC706 to ZC702 board. For some reason the HDMI display didn't get initialized. The following are the things I verified,
        1. The ADV7511 used for HDMI display is configured as expected.
        2. The pinmap  has been changed correspondingly
What could other things that could possibly go wrong.
P.S : The HDMI out solution does work in ZC706 board.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Macbook Pro Retina won't drive HDMI out

So I was talked into the new MacBook Pro Retina in place of a new Mac Pro by the guys at the Apple store.  I told them I needed to drive 4 displays and they assured me the MBPr would do that.  2 from mini display ports.  1 from HDMI and it's own display.  Fair enough.
Only, the HDMI out seems dead.  I am running two Dell monitors on the mini display to DVI connectors.  I am trying to run a 3rd Dell monitor on HDMI to Disply port but am getting no signal.  None.  Nada.  After a few seconds the monitor tells me there is no signal from the computer and it shuts down.
I have seen a lot of other issues around the HDMI output.  Anyone know the status?  Has Apple bugged this?  Is there a fix in the works?
    Thanks!
    Charles

Try with just the HDMI external; display. I would suspect the HDMO cable if this test does not work. Tray a new HDMI cable. If the new cable does not work, take the computer to an authorized service center. There is no "bug" using HDMI to an external monitor.

  • 70d hdmi out

On my 70d can I change a setting to clean up the hdmi out, I want to remove the gray box and black letter box so that the image fills the full screen.

    hsbn and MikeSowsun:
I was able to get all the extra info off by hitting the display button, the issue is the letter box. Using teh zoom fucntion on the TV should solve that problem for the TV, but I was hoping that I coudl remove the letter box from the feed because what I really want to do is read the feed into wirecast (via a black magic ultrastudio mini recorder)  and use it for a live streaming broadcast.
It doesn;t see like there is a way to turn off the letter boxing in the camera, or is there???
