Ideapad E570 nVidia GeForce GT630M driver problem under Windows7

Hi Folks!
I'm using the above mentioned notebook with Windows7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit. I tried to use the GeForce card with the latest dirver (8.17.12.8590) found on Lenovo's support site. Even if I tried to access the 3D settings in nVidia control panel (it should to display the rotating 3D nVidia logo), Windows will occur a "blue death" (exeption error). Same situation when I try to run a 3D applicaton like 3DMark...
The situation is same with the latest driver from nVidia.
Please, give me an idea how to fix this.
Cheers!

  • Nvidia Geforce 650m driver problem for windows 8.1 on macbook pro

Hey guys. I installed windows 8.1 on my macbook pro (mid2012, Intel core i7, retina, Geforce 650m) of course only for game, but I have a disappointing problem with the graphics driver. First I tried to instal graphics card driver by bootcamp (not the last version, the one before the last) .It started to install drivers one by one starting with graphics card, but suddenly the screen got black and remained black forever! I restarted the windows and guess what! after windows logo it got black and nothing more! Then I installed windows again and tried to install driver from windows update. It checked for update and found the driver for it and downloaded it and started to install, but again the black screen !!! Please help me thanks.

no this does not work. bootcamp drivers are broken for windows 8.1 on an efi install. apple is withholding the discreet gpu drivers from microsoft to trick people into thinking osx is more stable/efficient and thus windows cannot detect which gpu it is supposed to use when it can see both. the discreet gpu is hidden in the fake bios setup that bootcamp wants you to install with. the problem with doing this is that the more powerful gpu is all you can use in windows so the computer runs more hot and is louder which is annoying and hard on the battery life.
thanks apple, if i knew that when i bought the laptop i would have gone with something else.
This is not correct. If you force an EFI installation on a preUEFI Mac, you will see GPU and Audio errors. A non-EFI Hybrid MBR installation works correctly. Does Windows have the ability to switch GPUs? OS X, using external monitors, uses the non-Intel discreet GPU and the machine does not run hot. If Windows can provide dual-GPU support (which they have) and also provide GPU-switching (missing), this can be done. Can it be done for older hardware, highly unlikely. MacRumors has threads with PCI Register changes to expose the Intel GPU and the machine still runs hotter.

  • Nvidia GeForce 8600GT driver downloads

    Hey guys,
Im trying to update my graphics card (nvidia GeForce 8600GT) in my Macbook Pro. I can't seem to find any driver downloads for mac, only for PC.
It is most aggravating because I can't play my new copy of Sims 3 properly without updating the graphics drivers.
When searching for new drivers I keep getting results for windows drivers for people running windows on their mac and not just Mac OSX.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks in advance,
    Westy

    Westy,
OS X graphics drivers are updated along with OS X. You will not find stand-alone drivers. If you need the latest OS X drivers for your machine/GPU, update to 10.5.7. If you do, or you are already running 10.5.7, you have the latest drivers.
If you are having a problem with a game, contact the game's developer, or search their support site for solutions/patches.

  • Installing NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 problem

I have QU297AA#ABG h8- 1130a as bought from retail and planned to do some upgrades. I purchased the NVidia GeForce GTX 780 Graphics Card and was told I would also need a 600W or better power supply, so I also purchased a 750W one. I have installed everything correctly (to my knowledge) and when I try to boot up the PC, it reaches the welcome screen which is blue and with the HP logo asking me to "press escape for startup menu". That does not work and the PC then beeps 4 times with long pauses in between before changing to a black screen at which I have to hard shut down the PC.
I know that the power supply is fine becuase when I saw back to the graphics factory card, it is fine. I have read a lot of support FAQs and they have told me to update the BIOS and to uninstall my old graphics driver. I have done both and the problem still persists. I have upgraded my BIOS from AMI 7.09 22/7/2011 to AMI 7.12 12/10/2011 which was the latest available.
According to the EVGA manual, the beeping sounds are from one of the following:
    1. The card is not seated properly (unlikely).
    2. There is a problem with the motherboard's graphic card slot (impossible, as the other one works).
    3. Supplemental PCI-E power is not connected to the graphics card (it most definetely is).
    4. Graphics card problem (unlikely, it is brand new).
It then says the problem is probably with the motherboard and to contact you.
I hope this has been enough information but I would like to know all of my options.

I will take a look at the specs on your MOBO o see which PCIe spec the slot is. The specs don't state the version. I will have to ask an HP internal source. It may take a day for me to get back to you, but as soon as I know, you will as well.

  • PowerPC G5, NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200, problems with monitor

I have 1.6GHz PowerPC G5 (M9020LL/A) with NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 & HP LP1965 monitor. Monitor does not wake up after going to sleep using system preferences or being turned off using the button. All I get is light blue screen changing to black and so on and on. Anyone? Thx a lot!

Thx for tips. Booting OK in Safe, reaching Desktop.
    1. While in Safe, if both G5 & HP are on "never turn off" I get some dark grey screen after couple of minutes and I can "wake" G5 with mouse/keyboard. If I turn off HP on a button, nothing helps.
    2. Still in Safe: as soon as I set G5 to sleep after x mins an HP loses signal, nothing helps. I can wake G5 from keyboard, coming to light blue pic and thats it.
    3. Rebooting - nothing helps. As soon as I cut the power to monitor or it goes to sleep, same thing happens. Black screen turning to light blue and so on. I have tried to press Power on G5, put it to sleep, than wake it by pressing Power again. I am stuck on a light blue screen for a minute, then all of a sudden I get the signal back.
Only thing that "works" is to have Screen saver on x mins and Monitor on "Never".

  • Mac Mini slow when accessing hd - NVidia MCP79 SATA Driver Problem?

I bought a Mac Mini (Early 2009) a while ago. Unfortunately i have a problem concerning speed and responseability which i couldnt solve even with a lot of googleing.
I noticed that problem first time when i tried to play a video file from hd. The video does not play as smooth as it should. It stutters from time to time. It is like a short interruption. The picture freezes for half a second and replays the lost frames very fast after that. These freezes do not occure periodically. It seems to appear randomly. The wierd thing is that the cpu usage is very low and there is enough free ram and disk space.
So i think its not a ressource problem. I noticed that these freezes do not only affect video playback. The whole system is kind of unresponsive. And thats the the case if there is some sort of hd or dvd access. When i try to copy a huge file these freezes are increasing rapidly. The more hd access the more the system is unresponsive and cannot be used anymore.
All these effects reminded me of a faulty dma/udma setting on windows machines. So i tried to check the transfer mode for my macs hd controler. But i didnt find any place where to check that. And i dont really think it is running in pio mode because that would result in a high cpu usage.
I played around a little bit to understand whats going on. So this is what i found out:
When i play a video from the hd its stuttering. It increases if i copy a file from or to the hd. Copying a file from the dvd-rom increases the effect as well. It is not influenced by a copy from AND to an external usb hd. And the whole effects do not appear under Windows Vista no matter how much i acces the hd.
So i come to the conclusion that there must be something wrong with the SATA controler driver which is a NVidia MCP79. Unfortunately i have no idea what i can do to solve this problem. And i didnt find any advice or something in the internet.
So i would appreciate any suggestions.

Ok, I think I was jumping to conclusion. Disabling journaling didnt remove the problem. It just seemed so because my problem is much less distinct with Leopard. Bad luck I guess.
kmac1036, to answer your questions. For sure I dont have warranty anymore. Maybee I should have posted that I upgraded my Mac to 3 GB RAM. Furthermore I replaced the original Hitachi HD with a Western Digital 500 GB model.
Somehow that may be connected to my problem. I've read that many people have problems with the WD HD and those beachballing issues with SN. (I do so too)
But my performance problem when accessing the HD did also exist with the Hitachi. In fact the Mini was extremly slow with the original 1 GB RAM. I think putting some additional memory into the machine helped because it reduced hd accesses.
Ok, I am not an expert. But if I had to guess I would say the following seems to happen. There may be an operation in the hd driver that takes longer than it should. Because of that it maintains cpu cycles and prevents the kernel to continue scheduling. That would explain why the freezes are not connected to a high cpu usage and why the systems seems to catch up things after the freeze very fast.

  • Nvidia GF4 Ti4200 Driver problems!!!

I have built up a new system with the following:
    MSI K7N2G-ILSR
    nVIDIA GF4 Ti4200 128mb DDR
    AMD XP2400+
    512MB 333 DDR
    PSU 350W
    WD 80GB Caviar (partitioned)
    Thermaltake Volcano 9 HSF
I have installed XP-PRO (+SP1). The problem I have is the drivers.  First off I install the nFORCE 2 platform drivers - Fine, then I install the VGA Driver disc 40.72's. According to the installation, all is fine.  When the system reboots, we have a no go (blank screen). I then need to go back to last known settings....yeah, yeah!
So far I have downloaded nearly all the drivers off the Nvidia site as well, using my other PC. (1MB CABLE).  Each one cause pretty much the same problem, including all the WHQL versions.
I even downloaded the Nvidia nFORCE 2 platform package, which included a VGA driver.  This still caused the same result.
My next step was to swap over with my other PC.  Once I inserted a GeForce2 64MB DDR PRO/GTS, all appears fine, the drivers install...no problem.
I insert the GF4 Ti4200 into my ECS K7S5A, and low and behold all is fine here.....drivers, no problems.
    Any idea's......anyone??????
Like compatibility problem or what..... I'm totally lost and confused now!!

No, Markone from UK, novice PC builder..... :D

Explain exactly what you mean, I can choose start up in safe mode yes, but what will that do for me??
    gfilitti:
Not sure exactly what specs you want? this is my first build ever.  The PSU is a bog standard fitment inside an ATX Case, not a separate fitment.  Can you be more specific about "timing etc..."
The Ti4200 is working fine in my less advanced ECS K7S5A machine......with 300W PSU.
And likewise the Nforce 2 machine operates my Geforce 2 GTS/PRO also with no problems.

  • Likelihood of occurrance of NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT problem

We have an MBP with an NVIDIA 8600M GT and are concerned about the well-known [video issue|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377]. On three occasions, the screen remained blank after the computer was woken up from sleep. An Apple Genius wasn't able to replicate the problem. Is there any reliable data on how likely it is for laptops with this chip to fail? Is there a good chance that it will zonk out tomorrow vs. run another three years without incident?
    Thanks,
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,
From my experience, having my personal machine fail (due to this issue) and another dozen or so of the machines I support also fail due to this issue there's really no definitive solution. My machine failed to where it would start up but would not display any video (despite the fact that I could remote into the unit and verify it was online). Several of the machines I've had serviced for this issue exhibit the distorted video. Of all of the machines that I've encountered they've all exhibited one of the symptoms outlined in the article, I suppose there are other symptoms but Apple is usually pretty good about updating their support documentation if a 3rd "frequently identified" situation appeared.
When you took your machine into the Genius Bar did the technician run a test that involved connecting a FireWire (or USB) external hard drive to your machine? Of all of the machines I've had tested, the Genius would run a quick test that would generate a specific sequence of light flashes from the SLI (Sleep Light Indicator). Based on how the light would flash this would indicate if the machine qualified for the free repair (or not).

  • NVIDIA GeForce 9400M Driver update issue

After entering the information in the NVIDIA driver search, I'm being told that the latest driver is the "Quadro Mac OS X Driver Release 256". However, after downloading it and trying to install the driver I keep getting an error that says "this computer will not support this NVIDIA graphics solution".
I've installed the latest CUDA drivers beforehand like it says, and that has worked out fine. Not sure what I'm missing with this though.

I'm getting the driver from the official NVIDIA website.
That is the problem. The only place to download any type of updates for a Mac are from Software Update, otherwise you will run into issues such as the one you just experienced. I'm guessing you may have come from the Windows world where it's regular practice to have to go searching for new drivers, with OS X you no longer have to do this. Run Software Update and if it finds updates for your machine install them. You can also set Software Update to check on a regular basis in System Preferences - Software Update.

  • Late 2013 mbp nvidia 750m cuda driver problem Adobe Af

    i cannot understand
    nvidia 750 m
i cannot use it on Adobe cc Af and Pr
    cuda cannot work ,Why ?

    Hi,
it took me finally 4 days to setup Windows 7 via bootcamp. The drivers that are downloaded via bootcamp do not work when installing from a flash drive. Here is what I did to fix the issue with "CD/DVD driver missing...." which would show right after you select the language during installation.
While in OS X, go to the intel website and download the the driver for USB 3.0. Place the file on your windows partition. Boot again, hold the option key and select your flash drive which has the Windows 7 installer on it. Once you get the error message, click browse and locate the driver on your windows partition. Once installed, Windows 7 installs without any problems.

  • Upgraded nVidia GeForce 8800GTS Driver--Premiere Runs Slow Now

For four years, I was running the same nVidia driver and Premiere and other apps ran fine.
Recently though, a project I'm working on for a client required me to add some new fonts to my workstations. Adding these fonts, or any fonts at all, would work fine until the next reboot, at which point Windows XP would just BSOD with a fault in win32k.sys. A partition restore was necessary to bring back useful system.
After some research, it was suggested that I update the video driver. I did this, installing the current 285.58 version after uninstalling the old version, rebooting, then doing a clean installation. That solved the font problem--I can install fonts and reboot and the system comes up fine. But there's a new problem: GUI acceleration is disabled in Adobe and Quark applications.. The GUI takes several seconds to paint the screen now, and I cannot play video in Premiere anymore without severe sluggishness and dropping of most of the frames. Even QuarkXpress 8 is unusable, taking 6 seconds to paint just the rulers around a page! Any time I move something, the system refuses to accept input and the mouse pointer freezes and stutters for several seconds until the screen is done repainting.
I haven't seen these sort of problems since 1990, when I had my Diamond Speedstar VGA card on ISA 8-bit bus.
Does anyone know of a fix for this problem, or what is the most recent Adobe approved nVidia 8800 driver version? I can't work like this. But I can't install the fonts my client needs when the old driver is installed because of the BSOD after rebooting.

    Mark,
Though I have personally not had issues with new drivers, I always try to keep a few nVidia drivers tucked away, just in case. However, and from time to time, others have hit upon "bad" drivers, and either a roll-back, or patience, until a new "good" driver is released, has helped them.
I also do not update my nVidia drivers all that often, and usually only when I begin experiencing a problem.
Good luck, and that BSOD is scary. While most BSOD's are hardware related, a system driver certainly CAN cause them too. On my workstation, all that I can recall HAVE been triggered by drivers, and most of those for something like a Maxtor external. I do not use their "one-button backup" function, but the drivers for that do get installed, and sometimes act up. I suppose that was once a good idea, but has bitten me a few times in the past.
Good luck, and wish that I had something that would help you. Please report how things go.

  • Print driver problem under Maverick OS

I guess I was a little too quick to update from Lion to Maverick. There is no print driver for my HP Laserjet 3200 All-in-One . I cannot print any pages anymore , it appears Apple threw in some obscure driver that does not work like the one under Lion OS X. Is it possible to migrate back to Lion?

  • ISO and DVD drive problems under Mavericks

Since I upgraded my Macbook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011) from Lion to Mavericks I have had problems with ISOs and my DVD drive.
If I download this ISO image for Ubuntu 12.04:
    http://mirror.ox.ac.uk/sites/releases.ubuntu.com/releases//precise/ubuntu-12.04. 4-desktop-i386.iso
The md5 checksum of the ISO and it is correct: 14ad92270218a8925d802b3d3b6e140f according to the list at:
    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuHashes#A12.04_LTS
If I try to mount it, Mavericks reports that there are no mountable file systems.
If I write this to a DVD using Disc Utility and then try to mount the physical disc, Mavericks reports that the disc is unreadable and offers to eject it.
If I run Virtualbox and attach the image to the virtual CD drive device, it boots and installs fine.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on here with Mavericks?
    What is Mavericks doing differently?

ok this just got ultra wierd. i tried running the comp with just one optical drive and my monitor stopped detecting a signal.so i plugged the second drive back in and it started working again. i tried this several times. then i tried running the comp with no optical drives and it worked fine. so it works with 2 or none lol. what a crazy system. i beginning to think this system is hopeless. i have replaced the mobo, and the PSU just to get the graphics card working properly. but now my dvd drive is acting up. grrr.

  • NVIDIA GEFORCE GT330M driver needed!

Hi guys, i just bought a new macbook pro 15" i7. I swapped my HD from the 17" to the new 15" i just figured out that i dont have the driver for the 15" for the new graphic card hence i cant get it to work. I left the CD at my home country and will be a while before i comes back. How do i obtain the driver for the GT330M? thanks!

Swapping the hard drive from an older computer into a newer one without reinstalling anything on it seems like it would be a good way to save time and trouble. But it isn't, as you now know. Chances are good that the GT330M isn't the only hardware feature of your new machine that's not working as it's supposed to, and you just haven't yet noticed the others.
