Good news! I have the exact same model. However, I had no issues upgrading to 8.1.
Did you do the upgrade from a relatively fresh install? I couldn't even do the upgrade until Windows Update was caught up (about 72 updates).

  • Attention! Laptop Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 10 is not compatible with Windows 8.1

    Attention!
Laptop Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 10 is not compatible with Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Update (pre-installed operating system is Windows 8.0) .
More specifically, after update for Windows 8.1 all the  drivers (including the latest)  Intel (R) Iris (TM) graphics, Intel (R) Iris (TM) Pro graphics and Intel (R) HD GRAPHICS  installed on this laptop  does not support out of the sleep mode.
This has been checked many times by different users laptop Flex 10.
Any comments from Lenovo are absent. By Lenovo specifications for this notebook there are no conflicts with Windows 8.1. It is not true!
It is unclear why Lenovo has admitted this deficiency.
I think Lenovo Flex 10 is a mistake that will cost the company Lenovo.

    Mine came with Windows 8.1

  • Ideapad touchscreen not working on upgrade to Windows 10

I  have an Ideapad Flex 15. Since I upgraded yesterday to Windows 10, I have lost the touchscreen ability I had up to that point on Windows 8.1. On search for pen and touch, I was given this message on a system information page: "No pen or touch input is available for this display." I have looked in device manager under Human Interface Devices. Expanding the view to show hidden devices, I see "HID compliant touch screen." When I click to get device status, this is the message: "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer." How do I do that? I note a similar problem in Windows 8.1 on this posting: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-hardware/touchscreen-not-working/c48cda23-93f2-4a9a-b6da-f7f47e67de0a Does anyone have any idea how to reconnect the hardware device -- or at least to solve this problem? Thanks!

I solved the problem here for my sister's Flex 14.
Press Windows+X and open Device Manager, go to Mouse and uninstall USB touchscreen.

  • Did anybody upgrade IOS 6 on unlocked iPhone 4s?

Ok I have a factory unlocked iPhone 4s that I bought from an apple store. I was wondering if I could update it to ios 6 without any problems or minor problems that can be fixed. I am really scared that it will lock again or be dead. On every website I look at it keeps saying jailbroke iPhones dont work on ios 6 but mine is not jailbroken. Did anybody update their iPhone without anything going wrong?

It's not a "better" answer, but I've read as well that legitimately unlocked iPhones remain unlocked even after an iOS version-level update.
I'm in a similar boat.  My iPhone 4S was unlocked by AT&T because I was not under contract any longer with the phone.  I had to contact AT&T and give them my IMEI in order to unlock it.  Then I had to run an iOS restore (still back on 5.x at the time).  After the restore was finished, iTunes gave me a pop-up notification that the restore was complete and my phone was unlocked.
So ... it stands to reason that the unlock "authority" sits on AT&T's (or whoever your provider is) system.  I would love to upgrade to iOS 6 to check this out for you, but I leave the USA to move overseas tomorrow and I can't risk locking my iPhone back up.  I need to be able to just throw in a new SIM when I arrive overseas (Australia).
I'm interested to see what gets reported on this thread.  Thanks for bringing it up!

  • What's the correct recovery process once upgraded to Windows 10? (No OneKey Recovery)

I have a Z50-70 laptop that came preinstalled with Windows 8.1. It is a OEM version, with the product key stored in the Bios. It is a UEFI install. It currently has OneKey recovery installed, which, if I understand correctly (I haven't actually used it yet), allows you to recover from a recovery partition in the hard disk. This isn't a "fresh" Windows 8.1, but an image provided by Lenovo that takes you back to the state the laptop was in when originally purchased (will have all Lenovo software and drivers preinstalled). According to the official Lenovo upgrade guide, before performing the Windows 10 upgrade, we should uninstall basically all Lenovo software, including OneKey recovery and it won't work in Windows 10. Questions: 1. What's the correct process to recover the system from within Windows 10 if something goes badly wrong? I think Windows 10 has a built in "reset your computer" functionality in Settings which I assume is what we would be expected to use. Would this take me to:a. A completely fresh install of Windows 10?b. An image created during the 8.1 to 10 upgrade, containing all my files etc at the point of performing the upgrade?c. Or would it use the Lenovo recovery partition (that OneKey Recovery would have used if it was compatible) and take me back to Windows 8.1?d. Something else? 2. Once I've performed the upgrade and Windows 10 has successfully activated, I believe I could create a bootable media with the Windows 10 ISO, boot into it and install a completely clean installation of Windows 10 and it would activate. I could theoretically do as many fresh installs from the bootable media as I want, so long as initially I did the upgrade (not a clean install), and the laptop hardware doesn't change. Is that correct?2a. If so, during the first clean bootable media install process, would I be safe to compeletly remove the Lenovo recovery partition entirely, and from that point onwards rely on Windows 10's "Reset your PC" functionality? Could I could even just use reinstalling Windows 10 from bootable media again as a way of recovering? If I understand correctly, it doesn't make sense to keep the recovery partition it if it can't be used within Windows 10. I think it I had a regular desktop PC with a retail version of Windows, then all the above would be fine. The added complications here are that 1. I have no Windows 8.1 product key (it's handled alll by the BIOS), and 2. I have no recovery disks. I want to make sure I understand everything fully before upgrading, and potentially doing a clean install using bootable media, so that I don't end up messing something up and ending up with either a laptop that I can't recover, of a Windows installation that isn't activated. Thanks.

Update for anyone else reading: I just uninstalled OneKey recovery on my Windows 8.1 installation, in preparation for the upgrade. So as far as Windows is concerned, OneKey Recovery has been completely removed. The good news is that I then shut down the laptop, pressed the novo button, selected "System Recovery" and I was still greeted with the OneKey recovery program where I could choose to restore from factory image, or a custom image. Therefore I assume that once I've upgraded to Windows 10, I will always have the option to restore to factory Windows 8.1 if I ever need/want to. The confusion seems to be that the OneKey recovery software is actually two separate softwares: 1. OneKey Recovery #1 is installed within the hidden recovery partition that is responsible for performing a system restore from the image of your choosing - either the factory image or a custom image created by OneKey recovery software #2. OneKey Recovery software #1 is always accessible via the Novo button. 2. OneKey Recovery #2 is installed on the Windows 8.1 installation, that is responsible for creating custom system images. You can also choose to restore the system from here, but as far as I can tell, this just restarts the computer and loads up OneKey software #1, which allows you to perform the recovery. OneKey Recovery #2 is the software that Lenovo told us to uninstall before upgrading to Windows 10. However, uninstalling OneKey Recovery #2 will leave OneKey Recovery software #1 in tact.As far as I can tell, this means that uninstalling OneKey Recovery #2 means that we lose the ability to create custom system images, but we retain the ability to restore from a system image. Can anyone confirm that I've understood correctly, and that what I've said above is indeed the case? I'm still a little unsure about what Windows 10's built in "Reset this PC" will do though - whether it will use Lenovo's recovery partition or perform a clean Windows 10 install.

Mod's Edit: Added model to Subject line for clarity

I took this in to a shop, and two technicians tried to solve the problem to no avail. One of them did as suggested, and uninstalled the touchscreen driver under Mice and other devices, but that only disabled the mouse touchpad.  So it was reinstalled, and the driver for the touchscreen under Human Interface devices was reinstalled, but none of it helped, and I still lack the touchscreen capacity I had before.  I cannot scroll except on the side ribbon, and I cannot use the touchscreen to zoom in and out, which I could do on Windows 8 and 8.1.  So it seems there is no new Lenovo driver for the  IdeapadFlex 15 that is compatible with Windows 10.  I am told to wait and see, and to hope that Lenovo addresses this problem.  BTW, I previously had two Microsoft tech people remote control my computer to fix this, and they both failed.   I am disappointed with Microsoft and Lenovo.  Any computer that was bought within the last couple of years fitted with Windows 8 should upgrade no problem to Win 10.

  • Should I upgrade to Windows 8.1 on my Ideapad U430

New to the forum.  Just purchased refurbished Ideapad U430 with Windows 8.  The unit came packaged with a warning slip that all kind of nasty things could happen if I upgrade to Windows 8.1.   I know this was an issue back in 2013.  Is it still an issue today.   Should I not upgrade to 8.1.  If I do, what precautons do I need to take.

    Hi,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
One year after the debut of Windows 8, Windows 8.1 is here. It feels significantly less dramatic, but Microsoft's latest version of its PC operating system has some changes, and some requirements, all its own. Microsoft 8.1 has enhanced basic features such as search, improved built-in apps such as the Mail and Better SkyDrive integration. On top of that, Start button is back, Performance improved, more ways to personalize your PC.
Refer here to understand more on upgrading to windows 8.1.
I would suggest you to have a look at the Knowledgebase created by Mark_lenovo to have a better picture regarding the upgrade.
For installation details and instructions, visit here and choose the topics listed under ThinkPad.
    Hope this helps!

Is it possible to have two versions of Muse on one Machine?  WhenI open Muse from my program menu in WIndows 7 it comes up the way I am used to.  I did an upgrade a week or so ago and now I have an Adobe Muse CC 2014 on my desktop.  WhenI open the application that way the GUI interface looksw totally different, more like Illustrator.  What is that all about?

Since posting the above, I have resolved a sensible work-around in regard to ebookstores which prefer us to have separate accounts for our separate Adobe IDs.
However, I really would appreciate it if anyone here can confirm that a DRM controlled book does actually become associated with a particular Adobe ID account at the time of first download to Digital Editions on that PC/device.
Two large book stores have said using my account with them to download books to our two separate Adobe IDs is OK, but I don't want to find my husband is unable to open his downloaded books.

  • Ideapad flex 15, windows 8.1 and Intel applications

I just got a new ideapad flex 15. I began updating everying and removing the bloat-ware. After installing 8.1 I noticed that all of the intel experience applications crashed immedatly when ran. Of coarse, phone support charges for answering this issue (even when telling me specifcally "we have the answer if you will pay for preimum support"... thanks....).
Does anyone know of issues with 8.1 and intel, or the Flex 15 and intel?
    Thanks for any help.

Sorry for double-post, as I saw your update after I replied.
Confirmed the issue with Intel EC. Same as you described.
Here is the driver update to get the Intel EC drivers for Windows 8.1: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23355
Windows 8.1, although a progressive update, is more like the transition from Vista -> 7. There are a lot of functionality changes that the old drivers don't work with in 8.1. Once we have all your issues resolved, I'll post a list of drivers to the support team to see if we can get an 8.1 patch issued.

  • Ideapad Flex 14 issue with Windows 10

I had this with Windows 8.1 for almost 2 years.  It works fine.  Now i upgraded it to windows 10 and everything went ok but both Wired internet connection LAN and Wireless internet connection was not working.  I have downloaded the drivers by myself and also what Lenovo support suggested but it is not working.    Has anyone with Lenovo Flex 14 upgraded to Windows 10 successfully. In some ways Lenovo was advocating to update to windows 10 but they don't want to help me but send me to premium support where i have to pay :-( Thanks in advance for any help.

This really is a driver issue with Nvidia SLI or not, but it has to do with this monitor and possibly it's 75Hz refresh rate.  I thought I'd share and hopefully Acer can work with Nvidia to make their new monitors compatible with Win10.  I know we are using bleeding edge tech here, I don't mind doing the troubleshooting as long as someone acknowledges the issue and will fix it. Serious memory leak with 355.60 as soon as the monitor goes to sleep. I've done extensive testing with poolmon, xperf, etc to see if any other drivers cause this, but nothing, this is a brand new win10 fresh install. Easiest way I can show this is via MSI afterburner. Monitor is set to sleep after 1 minute so I can do this quick test.    You can see less than 2 minutes in, pagefile usage already jumped up 4gb.Unless I wake the monitor, this will eventually eat up all virtual memory resulting in:

  • Ideapad Flex 2-14D: Fan constantly running at high speed: Windows 8.1

Hello. I have an Ideapad Flex 2-14D running Windows 8.1 and actual drivers. The fan runs constantly at high speed. So I have not to complaint about overheating, but instead I have to complaint about getting cold knees. Is there a possiblity to adjust fan speed? Best regards Eleichstetten

I've tried SpeedFan and looked through all the Lenovo programs, but there's no way that I can find for tuning the fan. My ghetto hack is to limit the CPU to 70% max (with Passive as the cooling scheme), which keeps the fan well under control.
Fan adjustment should be a standard feature in 2015. It's not expensive and definitely not difficult to implement.
