IdeaPad Flex 2 14 Sound Lag

I puchised IdeaPad Flex 2 14 a few months ago and recently have problem with audio - the sound starts lagging, especially if I am doing something else on laptop. Also it is getting very slow in general, which is quite weird for a brand new laptop. And I am not using a lot of programs just browsers and Office files + Spotify. Anyone having similar problems?

So, even if you long press the power button, the power light keeps blinking?
Try pressing the power button for upto 30-40 seconds. The system should turn off.
what is your battery indicator color? (or the charging light)

  • IdeaPad Flex 15D no virtualization option in BIOS 94CN07WW (AMD APU A6-5200)

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 15D (AMD APU A6-5200) does not have virtualization option in BIOS version 94CN07WW. What this means is if one wants to run for example Virtualbox, then one would only be able to vitualize a 32-bit operating system, instead of either a 32-bit or 64-bit operating system. However, a similar model Lenovo IdeaPad S415 Touch (AMD APU A6-5200) does have the SVM option in the BIOS to enable or disable virtualizing 64-bit operating systems. December 22, 2014 8:00AM CSTWhen I  called Lenovo technical support, I initially spoke with someone who sounded as if they were from the Philippines, which is fine if they are knowledgable, and their english is fluent. Unfortunately, when I explained the technical situation, he had no idea what I was talking about. After he checked with in Level 2 quite few times, he said that the motherboard doesn't support virtualization... So, I advised him that I've been in the IT industry for 10 years, and while admittedly I don't know everything about virtualization, I have some level of knowledge on the subject having worked in all positions from Level 1 Technical Support to Systems Engineer. Hence, I proceeded to explain how virtualization is a dependency of the CPU, not the motherboard. One would of course need to have a motherboard that is compatible with the CPU in order for the computer to work at all. However, one may buy a CPU without virtualization extensions and plug it into a motherboard, or one may buy the same CPU with virtualization extensions and plug it into this same motherboard. As well, I invited him to look at Intel or AMD's website for further information on this while we were on the phone so I could help clear up any questions he had on the matter. While he didn't appear to review either website, he checked in with Level 2 again, and suggested we check forums to see if a work around exists. I quickly explained there is no work around to this type of problem, and the resolution would be to put a request into engineering to have a BIOS update pushed out that allowed enabling/disabling SVM by default. After checking in with Level 2 once again, he said if it's not an option in the BIOS, then the computer doesn't support it. I advised while this statement is something I already knew (not to mention painfully obvious at this point), it's not a technical limitation of the hardware, as the CPU supports it. The root cause is that toggling SVM enabled/disabled wasn't designed in the BIOS (i.e. this needs a BIOS update to come out to fix this problem). We briefly talked about a warranty event, how from my past experiences sometimes when one submits a laptop to a vendor and gets it returned, it comes with a BIOS version that is later than originally submitted, or one that is not available for download from the vendor website. However, he wasn't really for this idea, as I didn't have a hardware fault per-say, and I wasn't interested in insisting one a warranty event as it was frankly a low probability event to have this outcome, and it wasn't what I wanted out of the conversation anyway. So, after he checked in with Level 2 again, he said he can call me back after he investigated some more. I advised him that a call back is useless if he is the one calling me back as we already know the problem, resolution, and who would need to address it. After he began to stutter, and make incomplete sentences that made no sense, he put me on hold to check in with Level 2 again (yes he checked in with them this many times). When he came back he claimed I said earlier in the conversation that the option to enable it was available so I should just go ahead and do that. Given that this guy frankly didn't know what I was talking about to begin wtih, and now is telling me something that never even happened in the conversation, I pretty much had enough of the lack of knowledge, and customer service I was receiving, so I asked to speak to either a supervisor or the next level of support. Thankfully he transferred me to his supervisor, who sounded like he wasn't from an outsourced call center, as when I explained the situation he understood me the first time, and spoke clear and articulate english. After a very brief discussion about what he was reading from Lenovo forums and a BBB complaint similar to my inquiry, we came to the conclusion that it would need to be a customer courtesy request to the engineering department to request the SVM option become available via a BIOS update. So, with my case number in hand, I said despite him not being able to promise me the outcome I desired, he at least got the issue in front of the right people, which I appreciated. Long story short, it would be just simply really awesome if Lenovo could push out a Happy Holidays BIOS update that would allow me to enable SVM on my IdeaPad Flex 15D.  Thanks for reading.

I came across this issue a while back also. However, with the quickly-approaching release of Windows 10, there's another problem that I consider far more important (it is also related to the BIOS, go figure). There is no way to enable/disable Execute Disable Bit in the BIOS. Due to this, I have been unable to upgrade to the Windows 10 Insider Preview, and I fear that this will be the same case with the final release. This issue apparently affects lots of others as well. It is interesting to note that the Flex 15D drivers page no longer says that a BIOS update is not available for the laptop... It doesn't give any info about the BIOS. Get with it, Lenovo!

  • Sound lag when playing games

    Hi,
My Z1 compact has sound issues when playing games.
There is a noticable sound lag of about a second (not much but is quite annoying), not only on newer games but also on the older ones, Angry Birds for example.  My recorded videos or YouTube don't appear to have the same issue.
The problem seemed to occur after I had installed Worms 2: Armageddon when the phone got extremely hot and crashed. It was after the phone had reset and cooled down that I noticed the sound lag issue and Worms 2 was running at a very slow frame rate.
I then installed Worms 2 on my ASUS TF201 and it runs perfectly with no sound or heating issues.
I can't seem to find anyone else with this issue so i'm wondering if my phone is faulty.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    @ xaver
    first thanks for your reply,
    >Have you noticed this behaviour on all games you want to play or just by newest games?
I talking about (Starcraft 2) it was working perfectly before but new the sound lag badly that i disable the music and scape the cinematic part to play it.
    >While gaming, do you use your notebook with high performance power plan?
    Yes I use it.
By the way: sending DX info is OK but Im 100% sure nobody here will read this. I hope someone read it.
    @ Xardas,
I try all the things you just say, and sadly it doesn't work. I have the last display and sound driver and last DirectX, I use the high performance power plan while gaming.
I try Disable AntiVirus/Firewall while gaming but it the same it doesn't work.
    thanks.

  • Ideapad Flex 15 HDMI output

I have a new Ideapad Flex 15, and I'm trying to output video to a second monitor via HDMI. I have an HDMI cable, but I can't get the ideapad to detect the second display. Any pointers?

I just tested with my Sony 3D display. The moment the HDMI cable was plugged in, "clone" mode was activated.
The HDMI port is quite deep, so make sure the HDMI cable is all the way in. The last centimeter or so is really stiff, so it may not be all the way in. The plastic shell of the HDMI connector should be flush with the case.

  • XFI Sound Lag

    XFI Sound Lag? my pc:
    intel core 2 duo @3.44ghz
    4gb ram
    asus p5b deluxe
    creative xfi xtreme music
    8800gts
    windows 7 64bit
in windows xp 32bit I had no problem with the sound but with windows 7 I get sound lag with certain things. 00% cpu usage throught prime does not cause lag, but simple things like scrolling down through your files or opening and closing tabs in firefox. programs where I noticed this lag in: firefox (youtube for example), VLC, media player classic, media player and foobar2000 so any audio and video application has this lag. you can't listen to something and browse the web at the same time, each time you do something there will be lag in the sound. I wanted to see if this affects games as well and installed half life 2 deathmatch but with this game there is no problem. I installed a codec pack but that didn?t change anything either, before that it was just what windows came with. I tried the newest official creative driver, the daniel k driver and the pax driver. I reinstalled windows 7 and the error is still present. I?m not sure what else I can do other than go back to windows xp.
I also tried installing it in another pci slot but the problem remains.

    no answer?
could buying a xfi titanium pcie make a difference? or will it be the same because its the same drivers?

  • Attention! Laptop Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 10 is not compatible with Windows 8.1

    Attention!
Laptop Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 10 is not compatible with Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Update (pre-installed operating system is Windows 8.0) .
More specifically, after update for Windows 8.1 all the  drivers (including the latest)  Intel (R) Iris (TM) graphics, Intel (R) Iris (TM) Pro graphics and Intel (R) HD GRAPHICS  installed on this laptop  does not support out of the sleep mode.
This has been checked many times by different users laptop Flex 10.
Any comments from Lenovo are absent. By Lenovo specifications for this notebook there are no conflicts with Windows 8.1. It is not true!
It is unclear why Lenovo has admitted this deficiency.
I think Lenovo Flex 10 is a mistake that will cost the company Lenovo.

    Mine came with Windows 8.1

  • OSMF  Flex 4 VideoPlayer sound problem

    Hi,
It seems that there is a problem with sound in the Spark VideoPlayer in video that's been encoded in H.264.
If I set 'autoPlay' to 'true' or start playing from the very beginning of the clip, everything works fine.
But if I set 'autoPlay' to 'false' and start the video not from the beginning, i.e. click somewhere in the seekBar, video is playing, but there is no sound. Once I jump back to the very beginning of the clip the sound appears, and from that point I can play the clip from any section and sound is there.
Once I reload the video, the story is repeated.
This happens ONLY with H.264 files and does NOT happen with flv files.
Also, I don't believe that this problem existed back in the beta version of Flex 4 (previous version of FlashPlayer 10.x.xx.xx), even after the VideoPlayer became OSMF based.
    FTQuest

    Good evening Brian,
After installing the latest Flash Player from the Adobe labs and switching to the latest nightly build of Flex SDK the sound problem is gone.
But I've run into another one: I make a simple OSMF player in Flash CS5 and it works fine within the Flash and also when I open the resulting SWF in stand alone Flash Player.
Yet, when I try to open the swf from within the Flex 4 application, using mx:SWFLoader I get the following error: VerifyError: Error #1053: Illegal override of synthesizer in org.osmf.layout.LayoutMetadata.
    Any advice on that?
    Thanks,

P.S. Also, for some reasons setting the 'autoPlay' on MediaPlayer to 'false' doesn't prevent the video from instant playing.

  • Sound lag (delay) in windows 7 64bit over Bootcamp mini server 2011

I just got my new Mac mini server 2011, loaded windows 7 64 bit and noticed that there is a audio lag over hdmi (intel HD 3000), what i mean is when i delete a file from recycle bin there is no sound, i tried going to sounds in the control panel and tried to test windows system sounds none of them work except the longer duration ones (and even if i do hear them, its the last part of the audio). i tried playing a normal mp3 which worked fine, i tried a hd video which worked fine, but the windows system sounds don't work due to a 2-3 second sound lag. i tried the latest drivers from Intel, dint help. Well i guess this might be a driver problem (i hope it is) , just wanted to know if any of you guys are having the same problem. I don't have this problem with my mac mini 2011 i5 2.5 ATI6630m HDMI.

Audio device driver: Mini uses ? I know some Macs use RealTek and others have Cirrus so whatever you have, then RealTek is easy to deal iwth and install, Cirrus is harder to find and install.
Audio pretty much does not work w/o user manually updating

  • Ideapad flex 15, windows 8.1 and Intel applications

I just got a new ideapad flex 15. I began updating everying and removing the bloat-ware. After installing 8.1 I noticed that all of the intel experience applications crashed immedatly when ran. Of coarse, phone support charges for answering this issue (even when telling me specifcally "we have the answer if you will pay for preimum support"... thanks....).
Does anyone know of issues with 8.1 and intel, or the Flex 15 and intel?
    Thanks for any help.

Sorry for double-post, as I saw your update after I replied.
Confirmed the issue with Intel EC. Same as you described.
Here is the driver update to get the Intel EC drivers for Windows 8.1: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23355
Windows 8.1, although a progressive update, is more like the transition from Vista -> 7. There are a lot of functionality changes that the old drivers don't work with in 8.1. Once we have all your issues resolved, I'll post a list of drivers to the support team to see if we can get an 8.1 patch issued.

  • Sound "lags" behind video after HDV Capture!

So I'm new to iMovie. I recently tried to capture some HDV clips from a Sony HDR-FX1 and when I play the clips after I've captured them, the sound lags behind the video. I've captured regular DV (4:3) clips without having this problem. Does anyone know what is happening?

Sometimes, if your import of HDV tapes is slower than 'real time', the sound may seem too slow (..lower pitch..) or may lag after import.
This seems to be due to a memory "cache"; iMovie seems to remember that the video played slower than normal while importing, and so the sound runs 'slowly' afterwards.
It sometimes works just to quit from iMovie and then restart the program (..that empties the "memory cache").
You could also 'Extract' the audio (..by selecting the video clip, and then using Apple key +'J'..) so that it drops into the separate audio track beneath the video. You can then just drag the audio clip to the left slightly, so that it matches up properly with the video.

  • Touchscreen on Ideapad flex 15

Hi, I've just bought a Ideapad flex 15 and the touchscreen isn't working. Does it need activated in some way or should it just work straight out of the box? Thanks

I took this in to a shop, and two technicians tried to solve the problem to no avail. One of them did as suggested, and uninstalled the touchscreen driver under Mice and other devices, but that only disabled the mouse touchpad.  So it was reinstalled, and the driver for the touchscreen under Human Interface devices was reinstalled, but none of it helped, and I still lack the touchscreen capacity I had before.  I cannot scroll except on the side ribbon, and I cannot use the touchscreen to zoom in and out, which I could do on Windows 8 and 8.1.  So it seems there is no new Lenovo driver for the  IdeapadFlex 15 that is compatible with Windows 10.  I am told to wait and see, and to hope that Lenovo addresses this problem.  BTW, I previously had two Microsoft tech people remote control my computer to fix this, and they both failed.   I am disappointed with Microsoft and Lenovo.  Any computer that was bought within the last couple of years fitted with Windows 8 should upgrade no problem to Win 10.

  • Synaptics touch device suddenly freezes in IdeaPad Flex 14

    Hi everybody,
I have an IdeaPad Flex 14 and frequently when I'm working on it, the synaptics touch device suddenly it freezes and the mouse arrow disappears from the screen. When this happens only the "right click" keep working but I can't move the mouse to another position. I have to deactivate-activate the synaptics touch device from the keyboard to put the mouse working again. This is so annoying and I want to know if there is a solution for this or the Synaptics touch device is damaged.
    Thank you!

Once the screws are removed under the angular feet the back comes of the laptop.
Glad you've been able to have the confidence to get the back of the laptop. I guess you thought what I thought, the base inards will fit anything from 13.3" to 15.6 using little more than different length ribbon connectors. Fitting it in a 11.6" device may be possible although the hard drive may have to SSD.
I find it hard to believe you need to remove 24 screws to remove the HDD, and 24 to go back afterwards. Had a play with Ubuntu 14.04 using VMWare player myself, although for some stupid reason it didn't prompt for a user and password during the install leaving me only able to use the guest account to log in. I clearly need 8GB of RAM and an SSD to make a smoother VM experience of Ubuntu and another VM install to save my settings.
Certainly worth taking the back off to have a look.
