IdeaPad Overview of HMM (Hardware Maintenance Manual)

Trying to download the Lenovo Flex 15 Hardware Maintenance Manual.  I have called Lenovo 3 times, but the website still hasn't been updated.  I went to the support site, put in my model info and click on manuals. Hardware Maintenance  Manual and get File Not Found.  Does anyone know of another location that has the manual?  Thanks,

  • 1802 unauthorized network card - but FRU is listed in the Hardware Maintenance Manual

I have an x130e (0622-23U) and wanted to update my wireless card. I looked up the compatible cards in the Hardware Maintenance Manual. It listed several, including FRU 60Y3241, Intel Centrino Wireness-N 1000. I bought a card matching this description on Ebay. It arrived and is labeled as advertised. It shows Model: 112BNHMW.
When I installed it and rebooted, I get the BIOS error 1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in.
Did I buy a brick from from Ebay? (Wouldn't be the first time.) Or is there something else that I should be looking for when I shop for a compatible wireless card?
    Thanks,

    Good evening.
One detail that *may* explain why you're getting the 1802 error with a card that is listed in the HMM and presumably has a legit FRU label:
On page 85 of your HMM ( http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/x130e_hmm_en_0a96359_03.pdf ), item 15 is the WLAN adapter. The first grouping of MTMs includes your 0622-23U (denoted as 0622-23x). For that group, the listed FRU P/Ns are: 60Y3247 and 60Y3249. The remaining 4 groupings of MTMs do not specifically include yours. The 60Y3241 FRU is specified for 2338, 2339 and 2340 machines.
    Just a hypothesis.
    Regards.
Edit to add: Digging a little deeper, specifically, looking at the readme file for the BIOS update in the driver listings, it appears that there are different BIOS versions for different MTM families (23xx vs 06xx, generally) - "8Q" and "8R" prefixed. So it's not impossible that the BIOS whitelists also differ. Just an observation.

    Philippe, welcome,
I sometimes have difficulties in downloading pdfs from the Lenovo site using IE8, quite often this can be solved by right clicking and choosing to open the link in a new window.

  • S10-3s Hardware Maintenance Manual Link + s10-3t, S9e, S10e, S10

I've been looking for a HMM for the s10-3t for awhile now... no luck yet.  Anyone seen one?
Searching lenovo.com.cn I did stumble across one for the s10-3s.  I haven't seen this one posted anywhere on the Internet yet- and it didn't come up on the US Lenovo.com website either:
    http://consumerdl.lenovo.com.cn/UserFiles/UserGuide/en/User's guides and manuals/HMM Update/Lenovo I...
Dated March 2010, it doesn't cover the 3t, but it is *much* closer to the s10-3t than the  older S9e, S10e, S10 HMM here:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-71062
Just thought I'd post the links so that anyone who needs 'em can get a copy.

    Great opening post Carsten!
    The latest bios:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-71252 (BIOS 66)
The FSB can be reduced from 133MHz to 100MHz using SetFSB, this also reduces the heat:
    http://www13.plala.or.jp/setfsb/
    clockgen = SLG8SP513V
If you add a shortcut to the startup folder the program will start at startup. Under properties you can change the target to:
    "C:\Program Files\SetFSB\setfsb.exe" -s100 -b1 -cg[SLG8SP513V] -w20
So it starts with a FSB of 100Mhz, in the background, with the right clock generator, after 20 seconds.

    a few noteworthy points:
    - the LCD panel is manufactured by TMD
    - all keyboards are manufactured by NMB
    - 64GB SSD are from both samsung and TDK
    - a 120GB samsung mini-SATA drive is listed and will eventually be available
    good stuff.

Well, I don't have a Macbook and never had any Mac notebook at all so far, but I have a Dell with one of those rare 13.3" LED CMO panel inside...
    --> http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=159938&highlight=m1330+screen
Beside that I have other notebooks (those from the company with the three letters), one with an 15" UXGA IPS ID-tech panel, one with an 14" ID-tech panel.
BOE-hydis makes some good AFFS panels for the 12" notebook panel segment, though those used in Thinkpads are sadly not very luminant,  for example the measured data for the X61Tablet SXGA+ panel is...
    - luminance average 131 cd/m² (nits)
    - luminance at brightest area 145 cd/m²
    - contrast = 1062:1
    - horizontal viewing angle >80°
    - vertical viewing angle >80°
...in comparison, those of a HP 2710p are...
    - luminance average 256 cd/m² (nits)
    - luminance at brightest area 281 cd/m²
    - contrast = 1099:1
    - horizontal viewing angle >80°
    - vertical viewing angle >80°
...so the luminance of the X61Tablet is not this great at all, especially for outdoor viewings. - Generally the luminance of most Thinkpads wasn't this great at all and the most luminant Thinkpad display I know, was the MaxBright for the Thinkpad Z60m. - Now the new X300 will hopefully mark some point of change here into the right direction, at least related to more luminant displays.

  • Hardware Maintenance Disc

Where can I find the ISO for a Hardware Maintence Disc in order to change serial #s when I change system boards?
Or does this need to be ordered directly from Lenovo?

    Changing EPROM...
You meant Thinkpad Hardware Maintenance Disc.
    1. It is no longer available to end users. (Now, only Available for Only IBM related Business apartments, engineers, Service Centers and so on)
    2. Thinkpad Hardware Maintenance Disc only works under Floppy Diskette as far as I've seen and heard.

  • Table Maintenance: Manual Transport for Entries in Customizing Table

    Dear forum,
i'm facing a tricky problem at the moment. My customer wants the maintain a customizing table, but he does not want to transport the entries automatically (don't ask me for the reason), but manually.
The online help tells me, that this can be done.
In the SE11 i chose untilities -> table maintenance generator and for the subscreen "dialog data transport details" i chose "no or user, recording routine".
Continuing wiht the SE11 i chose untilities -> table maintenance generator -> environment -> maintenance objects -> transport "manual transport".
In the SE54 i created the events 10, 11 and 12 with the recommended coding from the online help.
But when i start the Maintenance via SM30 the points in the menue table view -> transport or edit -> transport are not active.
The function group does not include any generated statuses to activate the menue-points. What is missing toi get the popup, that asks me for the transport number?
Can somebody help me out or tried this before?
    With kindly Regards,
    Robert

    wrong!
    the online documentation says:
    Manual transport
The object maintenance transaction offers a manual link to transports. You can branch to it by selecting the Transport menu option. In the transport session, you can then select objects to place them in a Change request. A special transport program may be available instead of the menu option Transport, to place the object in a change request. The setting Manual transport means that changes to the object are not automatically recorded. If the maintenance transaction offers an automatic transport link, in addition to the manual one, you should select the setting Automatic transport.
What has to be done to realise it except creating the events?
