IdeaPad Touchpad Responding Incorrectly
I usually have the two-finger scrolling enabled on my Lenovo Ideapad S405. Today, however, my laptop decided that it would recognize single finger gestures as two-finger scrolling. Normal movements with the touchpad are near impossible as the mouse becomes "jumpy" and then begins to scroll the page. When I try to use two-finger scrolling as normal, nothing happens.
When two-finger scrolling is disabled, this no longer occurs. However, I have become accustomed to two-finger scrolling and find it very annoying to have to scroll manually by dragging the scrollbar. When I have my mouse plugged in, there is no issue. Honestly, I just want a fix for this so that I'm able to use my laptop and scroll with ease without always needing to bring a mouse. I reinstalled all the most recent drivers, but nothing seems to work. I have also restarted my laptop several times but to no avail.
If anyone can find a way to fix this, it would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

How to reset your Apple ID password.

ITunes responded incorrect payment info, yet it was absolutely correct
When I logined to iTunes Store yesterday, iTunes asked me to filled up some payment for security. After I filled up those blanks, iTunes responded me for incorrect info, yet what I filled was absolutely correct. Then, I tried several of times but iTunes contiunely reponsed the same message to me, and I had no idea what was going on. Plz help me!!
Heya. The same thing happened to me and I finally solved it. Try going to https://myinfo.apple.com and entering your account information. On the screen the lists your phone number, see if it states you having both a home and office number. If so, delete your office number. See if this allows you to continue from the spot you were stuck in before.

does produce output when I stroke my touchpad?
Due to this I can't get xf86-input-synaptic working.

jocomContinuing (after some further thought). Actually, (for Intel chip sets)the serial devices probably connect to the Southbridge through a bus called the LPC (Low Pin Count). This bus is used to connect things that are relatively slow that, in antiquity, would have lived on an ISA or EISA bus. "Traditional" I/O addresses such as 0x380-0x38f or 0x280-0x28f (COM1 and COM2 in PC-Compatibles) are mapped down to the LPC. There are interface chips that implement the LPC on one side and the PS/2 serial ports, IBM-PC Parallel ports, etc. on the other side. The touchpad probably connects to one of the LPC client chips, which talks up through the Southbridge.

My Creative Labs won't respond once turned
Today I turned on my Creative labs 20GB player and initially it played the track selections from the last time I used it. However, when I attempted to add a new album to the playlist I found that none of the buttons (including touchpad) responded. I was also unable to switch the player off. However, the player still automatically switches itself off after a certain time has passed and can be switched back on using the power button, but again I get no response when using any other buttons. The backlight still comes on when pressing a button, despite the functions not working. Can anyone please help, I'm having a crisis!
No. It just resets the "brain" of the player to cure any strange behaviour.
If this doesn't help and the player continues to be unresponsi've then it's faulty, and you need to return it where you bought it for a replacement, or contact Creative Support. -
Itunes can only find one episode on my RSS feed... help?!
I am having some issues with getting my podcast up and running. My RSS seems to be working and the files seem to be accessible yet only one of my test episodes works. I have been attempting to use garage band to share episodes with iweb with no luck. the only episode that seemed to work was an older audio file that I dropped straight into iweb (skipping the editing process in garage band). I am trying to figure out why only one episode out of several can be found by itunes...

I feel a little frustrated as I am a little code illiterate, any help would be much appreciated!
DanI've looked at it again: my FireFox will play two of the mp3 episodes, but complains that it need an additional plugin to play the earliest episode, despite the fact that it's also MP3.
iTunes will only download the second to latest episode: it complains that the other cannot be found on the server.
Safari will play all of them.
All except the second episode have spaces in the filename: these are replaced in the feed with the code %20 and normally in this situation it all works OK (it's when the URL in the feed has spaces that it falls over) so though it's a messy looking solution it shouldn't cause a problem.
Though you are using iWeb to create the podcast - which should work perfectly well - you are apparently not using MobileMe but another server. Servers have to be configured to deliver different types of file correctly: so, for example, if you have an M4a file but the server hasn't been set up to deliver it properly, instead of playing in a browser as it should it will be downloaded (which is what happens with an unknown file type).
It can't be as simple as that here, since Safari is not having any problems, but as FireFox and iTunes are it does suggest that the server may be responding incorrectly to certain types of request. That's something you would have to take up with the people running it.
However since, although it might be coincidental, it is the case that the one trouble-free file doesn't have a space in the filename, it would be sensible to get rid of the spaces. To do this you will have to rename the files and drag them anew into iWeb, and then do a complete republish: this will rewrite the feed to match the new file names, but of course all the files will have to be uploaded again. As it's a comparatively easy (if tiresome) step it's obviously worth trying first. -
E-Mail settings in Lion gone awry
I use ATT UVerse for Internet, and today all of my email programs have gone crazy. First the programs I use on my MAC and on a PC:
MAC: Mail and Thunderbird
PC: Thunderbird, Opera, SeaMonkey
I had not changed any settings, so today when I kept getting messages like: "Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop.att.yahoo.com responded incorrect user or password". Also, "login to server failed, please enter new password".
ATT support <or lack thereof> was no help as they claim that they do not support ANY third party e-mail programs, only Att/Yahoo web mail, which I have never used. But I could get third party support if I sign up with a fee based service they have. <Surprise, surprise>
Funny thing is though, the mail on my Iphone and my Ipad still work with the original settings, which are:
Incoming server: pop.att.yahoo.com
Outgoing server: smtp.pop.yahoo.com
The above settings have always worked on all of my mail programs, so I am at a loss as to why all of a sudden, they don't.
So what I am asking is, whoever here, if anyone, uses ATT Uverse and can tell me what settings you use for the above e-mail programs, it would be appreciateed.
P.S. After being on internet chat with their second tier support for over an hour and changeing settings, the final thing he told me was that, he could not provide any ore info and I would have to sign up for paid tech su pport.

Why is the click box Failure Caption Display property disabled?
Slide is 10 sec long. Click box appears at 7 sec, display to end, pause for response and failure caption, 2 attempts allowed before continuing.
Failure caption > Properties > Display time is disabled--and set to 10 sec.
Only want 3 sec with fade in and out 0.5 sec.
This in the only one of the entire collection of failure captions doing this. While I "fixed" the slide by just deleting this one and re-doing what works, I want to know why I could not access or edit the Display time.

So, Here's what was expected. Slide opens. Text caption must be read, then an instruction given. At 7 seconds the click box becomes active. the failure caption should be 3 sec duration with fade in and out set to .5 sec each. So if the viewer clicks inaccurately, the failure caption appears for as long as 3 seconds waiting for a response. Respond incorrectly again, the failure appears again for 3 sec then the project moves on to the next slide. If the viewer doesn't click, the slide just waits without generating a failure caption.
However, I don't know how the failure caption got set to 10 sec and I usually can modify the duration. The problem is that the duration property is disabled/not available to edit/not like the rest of the captions in the entire project. How do I activate it? -
Left direction Key not working on the keyboard
i have an hp envy 15 laptop.Recently my left direction key on the keyboard has stopped working.the warranty got over this month.can the key be repaired? or is there a way to find out if there is a software glitch involved in this.

You mentioned that the left direction key has stopped working, can you explain that a bit more? Is it stuck down, does it just not respond to getting pressed, does it respond incorrectly? Do you have windows 7 or Windows 8?
I would probably start with Notebook Keyboard Troubleshooting (Windows 7), there is a section on Stuck keys that might help, and several sections on possible software glitches that might cause keyboard problems, take a look through those solutions and see if they help.
Another options is to run the Keyboard test as described under Component Tests in Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7, Vista). This will tell you for sure if the keyboard is functional or not.
As to figuring out how much a repair from HP would cost, for that you will need to contact your local HP support team there in India, as repair costs will be detirmined by exactly what is wrong, as well as your specific location and product model.

I am not done with the program but I get errors that I am not sure how to fix them. I was wondering if anyone can help me solve the problem.
This program is a quiz program and has to handle 3 subjects. The user is able to select from these 3 categories. The program presents 3 questions and has to provide 4 option for each question. One would be to exit from the quiz. If the user responds to a question correctly, the program displays a positive feedback message. If the user responds incorrectly to the question, the program displays the correct answer. Exiting the questions menu returns the student to the topics menu. At the end of the quiz, the program displays the total number of correct and incorrect answers for each topic. Have a counter to count the correct answers.

Ipads Disconnecting While Roaming (WPA2, 802.1x, Radius)
We are having an issue that is apparently only affecting Apple Ipads. These are user devices that we are allowing connections to "Guest" SSID through an anchor to our DMZ. They are authenticating over 802.1x to our internal Radius server. Below is the debug of one of the Ipads disconnecting while roaming. After about 10 seconds the connection will resume. This is occuring on a 5508 WLC running 7.0.98.218 code and 1142 APs. Ipad is running 6.0.2 firmware. Any help is greatly appreciated!

How to use trackpad gestures with Windows 8 Developer Preview?
I have installed a Windows 8 Developer Preview on my MacBook via BootCamp Assistant. I found that it isn't support the trackpad gestures! (ex: two-fingers tap to right-click)
So how can I use the trackpad gestures with Windows 8?
Thank you for all reply.The BootCamp drivers that you can download and burn to a disc via the Boot Camp application in Mac OS can be installed in Windows 8 (run setup.exe from the disc while in Windows 8, preferably by right-clicking and choosing "Run as Administrator") and will allow you to use all of the current features of the touchpad (including two finger clicking/tapping). Once you have installed the drivers as described above, you can then click on the arrow in the System Tray and right-click on the black triangle that is for the BootCamp control panel. In those settings you can change how the touchpad responds to your taps, clicks, etc.

Malfunctioning Macbook Pro Trackpad
Okay. I have a 15" MBP from mid 2009. It's worked nearly perfectly thus far, but today it started to have major issues with the trackpad (the trackpad built in, not an external TrackPad). The curser skips around a lot... sometimes it responds correctly, sometimes it responds incorrectly and sometimes it doesn't respond at all. It clicks when I click sometimes, but most of the time it'll move and click something in a different place or it will click when i'm not touching the pad.
I have no clue what to do... I've rebooted a couple of times and that's not helping at all. Of course, I'm out of warranty so I'll have to pay for apple support and thought it'd be a good idea to start a discussion first just to check.
Any ideas??I agree. I had similar issues with my MacBook (not pro) and replacing the battery solved the problem. It had swollen to over 3/16" over its origianl size putting a lot of internal pressure on the trackpad from inside the MacBook. T430s neither boots, nor enters BIOS anymore
Hi all,
A quite tricky challenge:
I got a new T430s a few days ago. It worked nicely, with Windows 7. I started working on it for some days, with many reboots. I could also enter into BIOS. Now I created a backup image of the Windows-7 partition, and the partition called like "sysdrv", using an Acronis TrueImage boot CD. This went fine, the system booted from CD, and created a backup to an external USB HD. After having finished, I closed the Acronis program. Since then, the T430s doesn't boot anymore. It hangs with the following message:
"Initializing Intel(R) Boot Agent GE v1.3.81; PXE 2.1 Build 091 (WfM 2.0)". The cursor is blinking underneath.
I tried pressing ENTER at the beginning, which works. But then in the menu, I can select either F1 to enter BIOS, or F12 to choose temporary boot device, but both options lead me to the same text as above, with blinking cursor. The option F10 to run diognostics works, and doesn't find any error.
We tried with another bootable CD, no effect. The optical drive quickly sounds, but after some seconds the system hangs with the same message.
So, in conclusion: I cannot boot Windows 7, I cannot enter BIOS, I cannot change the boot order. Even Ctrl-Alt-Delete doesn't work to reboot. I can only press the power button for 2 seconds to shut it down.

Go to Solution.I am guessing your Acronis backup you did was cloning the drive and not a full HD image to the external drive. If you clone and don't use advanced or responded incorrectly your original HD was modified by Acronis Trueimage. It may not longer be marked as an active boot partition and never boot again without fixing it.
As I recall the tools are on the boot CD and you should be able to fix it. NOTE: Window 7 partition is NOT the normal boot partition on Lenovo Win 7 systems. Its the "SYSTEM_DRV" Partition set as Active.
Good luck, you can call Acronis for help with their tools on fixing this and I would if you're not well versed in partitions and managing them. Once you screw it up its far harder and may be impossible to fix over the phone of via forum posts!!!

Baffling mouse cursor freezes if I remove the WIRED ethernet connection??
Hi all
I just installed XP professional on my S10 model 4231 bios 14cn34ww dated 08/26/2008
so if I run it connected to the lan using the wired connector all is well BUT the moment I take out the rj45 the mouse cursor freezes. If I plug it back in then all is well again.
I want to use this outside so I need to get this fixed.
any ideas please?

It sounds like there's a possible short somewhere on the system.
Try to do the following:
1. Restart the computer in Safe Mode with Networking (continuously press F8 during boot-up).
2. If all is well, perform a clean boot and observe.
3. If same problem, open Network Connections (press Windows Key + R, then type ncpa.cpl)
4. On the network connections, disable the Local Area Connection.(do a right click > disable)

5. After disabling the LAN, reboot into normal mode & try to use the Touchpad
6. If the Touchpad responded without any issues, try to re-install both the Ethernet driver and then re-install theTouchpad driver
