IdeaPad U430 touch battery running down quickly how do i replace?

HiI use my laptop every single day and now the battery life is seriously being affected. I'm down to one and a half / two hours which is way down on what i used to get. How do i replace and whats the best batterys to use? Thanks in advance.

Hi Hammerhead69,
Changing into conservation mode stops the battery to charge to 100%, if the battery charges overcharges then the life of the battery will reduce.
Try to reinstall the energy managet and check for the issue.

Hope this helps. Do post back if the issue persists.

  • Battery runs down quickly and case is hot

I've developed a problem with the battery running down quickly after a full overnight charge and I notice the case is getting hot. I had a Mophie battery pack on it and it needs to be switched to the battery pack every day, now. This was not an issue until a few days ago. Is there an internal problem? I do not have any apps running and the cache is cleared of any saved or recently viewed programs.

  • Tungsten E2 back light won't go off and teh battery runs down quickly

I have no idea exactly when this started but I noticed the back light stays on after I try to turn it off and my Palm runs down very quickly. I did the soft reset several times, it comes back on and then flickers after I turn it off until the back light just stays lit. After reading several posts, I've done a hard reset and wiped out all of my data, re synched it and it still keeps happening. Other than that, all of the programs work but I must plug it in for recharge every day or it runs down. I let it completely die for a couple of days and the back light comes back on the minute I plug it back in even when it doesn't have enough charge to turn on. It is toast?
    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum!
Is the new battery that you're referring to an original one, or the third party replacement?
Can you borrow another battery somewhere and check whether the issue persists?

  • HT2188 IPHONE 4S BATTERY RUNNING DOWN QUICKLY

iPhone 4s battery suddenly runs down in under 2 hours of non-active (standby) use.  No idea why, this just started happening a few days ago - no new apps put in to cause this, all location services turned off, no push mail -- have done all the standard checks.  Also, the battery isn't accepting a charge from outlets plugged into the wall (only ones into the computer)--I get the lightning bolt signal at the top right, but the charge simply continues to drop.  Anyone have similar issues?

Take it to an Apple Store to be checked out.

  • Centro battery runs down quickly

My battery doesn't seem to last very good. I start the day with a fresh charge and make or receive maybe two short calls in a day and use the cal or contacts a couple times and by evening my battery is dead to the point my phone shuts off or very low on on charge. I'd hate to see what happened if I used the web much. Is this normal? I thought with that much stand by I'd have plenty of battery each day. Thank you.

    Hi,
I am sorry to disagree, but on Sprint's Palm Centro, once you are done using the web, it does indeed stop the connection. Hence the fact that when you click on the WEB Icon, it takes a few seconds to reconnect to either the last page viewed or the original sprint home page. I have the centro from sprint since it came out OCT 14th. I have had the same batt, however I do keep a spare one on hand and a car charger if needed.  I am a heavy user on my device, I average about 3,000 min a month, I use the web for anything from CNN, to myspace, ticket master, check my personal banking, look up tickermaster, nba.com, the list goes on and everytime I use another application and go back to the web, it takes a few seconds to reconnect b/c it's not always connected. I also use my email routed through work.
Unfortunately , palm as made a slim batt. To be used with a slim device like so. My batt will be drained by the evening time, around 6 or 7 eastern time with about 18% of batt life.
I'll even play games bought from sprint, from 30mins to an hour and more and still using the same batt.
If you take ur phone to a sprint store and are with in 30 days, they will exchange it, anything over 30 days they will suggest having a tech look at ur device and most likely explain the same things I am.
Now, there are some settings that can help "conserve" batt life. And if you go into the power option under preferences, it will have a little bubble that says tips in the rt hand corner. That will tell you a few things on how to save batt life. You can also change the power settings for the back light and also make sure the blue tooth is turned off. You can also check your roaming settings, to be at home only, not allow roaming.
Hope that helps, but most users have poor batt life by the end of the day, this phone is made to use many applications which can drain the batt. life

Those are not normal unless you are using apps that use a lot of power (like games & GPS apps).
Take it to an Apple store for a free consultation or take it back to where you purchased it. Make a backup in iTunes or iCloud before you go incase it needs to be exchanged.
It should have warranty for a year or more depending on your country & if you purchased Applecare.
I would also suggest you leave it powered off if it always gets hot & store it somewhere away from flammable materials – damaged batteries can be a fire risk.

  • Hacker problems so I reloaded Snow Leopard. Afterwards, Mac had to delete 798 items. Now looping on 4 items to delete for the past 2 weeks. Can't reboot, reload, or restart. I have to let the battery run down for it to turn off. How to fix this, please?

I had hacker problems so I reloaded Snow Leopard. Afterwards, Mac had to delete 798 items. Now it is looping on 4 items to delete for the past 2 weeks. I can't reboot, reload, or restart. I have to let the battery run down for it to turn off. I think a big part of the problem is that someon one the internet (the hacker) was mirroring my hard drive. It seems to have locked up my system. I could be wrong about this guess, though. All I do know is that it is now looping on the last 4 iems, and I can't do anything.
Well, I can get it to turn on, but all it does is continously try to delete the last 4 items. When I try to reload Snow Leopard, it tells me my hard drive is full and that I need to delete items.
Can anyone help? I am so lost without my Mac. I am back on the PC, and though it works, I'm sure many of you will understand when I say it's just not a Mac.
    Thanks.

I installed Snow Leopard using my Apple external Superdrive. I followed directions I found on the Apple site. Here is the article info:  Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard: How to Erase and Install
                     Article HT3910
                     located at: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3910
Everything was going smoothly until I got to the reinstall part. I had to choose to reinstall on a hard drive or network drive. I've never used a network drive; just the hard drive. It seems that's where the troubles began. I selected the hard drive. It seemed to go well, and then I got the message that I needed to delete some files because I was out of space. I chose to get rid of my music files, but, there were only 636. I don't know what the rest of the files were. I was using the Secure Empty Trash command.
That was my first time doing an erase and install. I tried to do it again, but I now get a continuous error telling me that my hard drive is full and I must delete files. Only I can't delete files because 4 files are still being deleted and my computer won't let me stop the process.
I found out about the hackers mostly by the fact that whenever I used to watch something like Hulu or Netflix, I never had problems with internet connection or speed. Lately, I had internet connection problems. I went in to check my settings for my internet provider and found out the settings had been changed to public and all these extra computers were connected to my network.

  • Why is battery running down so quickly on IPad mini

My battery runs down to 31%within 4 hours of use. I play a few games of candy crush, check mail and do a few Internet searches. iPad is less than 6 months old. Anyone with similar problems or suggestions?

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. When I have iCloud Backup ON, the battery runs down on my iphone really really quickly.  Is there any way of avoiding this.  I want to backup my iphone but don't want to be recharging all day.  Many thanks

Are you sure the iCloud backup is causing this?  Unless you initiate an iCloud backup manually, it will only back up once per day when the phone is connected to your charger and wi-fi and has the screen locked.  It shouldn't otherwise be consuming any power.

I guess I should have asked for the "definitive" fix. I read several "fixes" but it seems no one knows if Apple has a definitive fix. Kind of like going into an Apple store and getting three different answers from three different reps. At least they are not rude and no, I don't have a problem searching the forum.

Keep iPhone on wall charger for ten minutes, it may turn ON itself. If still nothing, keep on charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until the iPhone begins to respond.

    1. Check the cycle count of the battery against the rated life for your model. The battery may be due for replacement. If the power adapter is connected almost all the time, the battery may need replacing even though the cycle count is not too high.
    2. Follow these instructions, or these for OS X 10.8 or earlier.
    3. In the Energy Saver preference pane, uncheck the box marked
Enable Power Nap while on battery power
if it's shown (it may not be.)
    4. You can also try resetting the SMC.
    5. Make sure your system is up to date in Software Update.
    6. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.
