Ideas for folio-style cases

Hi there,
I prefer the ergonomics of holding the iPad as just a simple stand-alone tablet. But I recognize the value of transporting it in a case.
So I'm looking for a folio-type case for the iPad 4 that folds all the way back and really gets out of the way when opened. No latches or straps would be a bonus. Shopping for something like this has proven challenging as it seems most manufactures show photos that illustrate how their cases function in an open position or as a stand. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much.
Alan

Designed for pilots as a kneboard, but works great as an everyday case for anyone with the leg strap removed. And hand made in the USA.

    Good day ..
I am looking for some recommendations for a thin Folio / Wallet Case for my Lumia 1520. I specifically want to know if the buttons are easily accessible and if the case is durable as in not "flimsy".
    Thanks a bunch.

    Hi, vpalhories.
Have you tried going to any nearest Nokia retailer in your area and check if they have available Folio/Wallet case for it? BTW, you can also check our Nokia website for all of the accessories that are compatible with your phone. See this: http://nokia.ly/1xlR7Rb. Perhaps, you'll be interested with the Protective Cover CP-263. It is not the same with what you're looking for but it will protect the phone.
Enjoy the rest of your day!

    Hi all,
I am in the process of purchasing an iPhone 5s and am in search of a nice flip style case for it.
    Any favorites?
    Thanks,

Unless you have jailbroken your iphone it does not have a virus.
There is no malware affecting legit iphones.
It sounds like your e-mail account has been hacked, NOT your iphone.

  • Best folio style ipad 2 case

I am looking for a folio style case (made of leather or fake leather) for my ipad 2 that i can stand (like apple smart case). I dont want to spend too much.

    Hi
I have a Belkin case for my iPad http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Ultra-Thin-Folio-Case/dp/B004R9407Y it works really well, protects the iPad well.  I use it a lot as an easel type stand, and that works very well, all in all no real problems for me.
I'm sure you have, but make sure you get a screen protector for your iPad too

  • Portfolio-style case?

I'm looking for a portfolio-style case for my iPad 2, but it's hard to figure out which ones meet my specifications and are decent quality.  Hopefully someone here can help.  What I want is:
    - iPad does not hang out (I found a cheap one that my iPad hangs just slightly out the bottom of, due to looseness in the corner straps that hold it in)
    - Has a place to store a pen while keeping it out of direct contact with the iPad (no scratching allowed!)
    - Easy in-and-out...  I hate having the iPad in a case around the house, the case would only be for going out
    - Cover folds all the way over to the back so it's out of the way
    - Attractive and durable
I do not need it to become a stand or hold a keyboard or any of that kind of stuff.
Any ideas?  Thanks in advance for any advice!

I found one on amazon that does all but the pencil thing. Don't recall its name but that could be a place for you to look. There were certainly a lot of portfolios being offered.

    Hi Lrj1985,
According to your description, in order to allow users to know the probability of collecting from a debtor dependent on different dimension, you nedd to produce an OLAP cube to perform this. Since you haven't done this for a few years, now what you

  • Can you help me with Page Layout and/or Design ideas for a software manual?

    Greetings,
I am a new InDesign user, and am converting a software manual that I created in MS Word into InDesign. It will be converted to a pdf to view online. I have the basics (3 master pages, page numbers, running headers, 2column pages with text boxes on the left and screenshots on the right), but I want to make it look prettier. Could you please give me some ideas on page layout and/or design to make it look better or more creative?
A few things that I am considering: borders around screenshots, a watermark, a logo next to the page numbers, different size/type of fonts, etc.
I am open to any suggestions to make this look better. However, please understand that I am new to InDesign. With that being said, please tell me a few steps when you mention your tips. Thank you!

Take a look at a few websites on Cannons of Page Construction.
I think the best idea for you is to look at a few software manuals and take tips from how they accomplished the layouts.
I'm not saying to copy them - but rather see what works and doesn't work, what worked for them might not necessarily work for you - research some layouts.
Fonts/type/sizes etc. are pretty much ambigious without context - is this a software manual for kids (soft cuddly big fonts easy to read), technical (small, tight spacing etc), Adult friendly (smooth, crisp clear, well spaced), elderly (large elegant fonts).
It all really depends on your demographic audience.
Being new to InDesign I suggest you take up Sandy Cohens Quickstart Visual Guide.
I think you should look at Michael Murphys Book on Styles
And you should definitely get your printer (the guys bulk printing) the booklet for you on board from the start to work out optimal sizes to suit their printing presses and workflow etc. And to ensure that you are setup correctly in page sizes, margins, safe type areas, colour profiles and a few other things that your printers prepress can help you with.

  • Ideas For A Text-Based Game

I tried working on Graphics a while ago, but I didn't have too much luck with that ;)
Just wondering if anyone here has any ideas about a 'fun' text-based game, that wouldn't be really based on RPG style stuff, because I don't really want to bother with having characters save and stuff(I kno how to though...)
Something like Rock/Paper/Siscors(spelling? lol), but kinda more adicting...oh right, forgot to tell you...idea for a MULTIPLAYER text-based game ;)
    Thanks
-Been trying to think of a good idea all day, no luck ;)

  • Ideas for lastest chipsets and computing hardware

i have many ideas for silicone based builds and i would like input from everyone if you wish.
discrete graphics are great and i believe that both Intel and AMD have made great recent leaps in this architecture and i give them both respect.
i believe low cas is the way to go for memory to assist in optimal multi-core usage and rendering capability.
3-d technology looks amazing to me although i have yet to try it out myself as well as a lot of the newest touch screens.
i would like to see 4-8 system threads with high physics per thread and as low of frequency as possible for less power draw after all if we are going to be innovative we should be energy efficient at the same time.
my point of view is from a gamers and over clocking perspective with little understanding of the hard work that goes into the programming and server end of the computing industry.

  • Creative ideas for Remote Backups and Working from Home??

Here's my problem in a nutshell:
My primary workstation is at my office where all my important files are stored. I backup once a month onto an external firewire drive which I (usually) keep off location in case of fire/theft etc.
In the future I'm going to need to conduct about 75% of my work from my office and the remainder from home. I'd like to be able to work on a file at my office. Go home. Sleep. And be able to work on the same file from home the next morning.
Any ideas for how I should do this? One solution I had was to run a nightly backup of my office computer (a tower) to a remote firewire drive at home (basically a clone). I could then plugin into the firewire drive with my laptop. This would also serve as a remote backup of my client's files.
Does this make sense? And if so, does anyone have any suggestions or pointers in terms of easy-to-use backup software. And how complicated would it be to set this up to a remote drive? And will there be problems with remotely backing us, say, a 500 MB file?
    Cheers!

What O/Ss are involved; are they both OS X? Home OS X, work Windows?
Many people telecommute by running the applications remotely, with a display server connecting their application to the system they're using. For instance, my work system is Linux; all applications use X windows as their display interface. My home system is OS X, which includes an optional X windows display server. Most of the time, when I need to work from home, I run a VPN client and use 'ssh -X' from an xterm under X on OS X to log in to my office system; and then I can run any application on my office system and have it display on my OS X system.
Similar solutions exist for most common OSs. Windows systems can run VNC or Citrix to export their display to clients that can run on OS X, Linux, or Windows; OS X can run Remote Desktop to export their display to clients that can run on Linux or OS X; etc.

  • New ideas for ipod touch

Here are my ideas for the ipod touch, put a flash light on it. I have a flash light on my t-mobile cell phone and I would like on on my ipod touch or iphone. Historically, a flash light uses little energy but useful during emergencies. Currently customers use their screens as light but there is a power saver. In case of an emergency, I want to be able to use a flash light without altering the power saver.

Apple really does not monitor these forums for suggestions.  To make a suggestion to Apple go here:

  • Ideas for Java Project

    Hi,
Yet another desperate student here seeking ideas for a Master's Degree Java Thesis!!
I've been given an idea for image analysis, i.e. counting and measuring images from a digital camera, but it all seems to have been done before.
I'm interested in the areas of developing an online knowledge base or project repository for an IT department, but again, has it all been done before...yes.
Can anyone please suggest something...anything that I can get my teeth into?
    Thanks in advance..
    Natalie.

    Hi,
You can try a package named: JTwain, which is available at http://asprise.com/product/jtwain.
JTwain supports all kinds of digital cameras and scanners. You can use Java to access, contorl digital cameras and scanners, and of course, to acquire images with flexible settings.
The developers' guide is available @ http://asprise.com/product/jtwain/devGuide.php
In the simplest case, one line of Java code can solve your problem.
    Good luck!

  • Ideas for Title, Credit on Video Project

    Hi all:
Just looking for ideas for a video project for children that I've about completed. The elements left are the titles and credits.
So, I thought about making backgrounds/text with Elements. Drawing type? Crayon? Colorful? Pastel? Floating? Ragged Edge Background?
Besides ideas that are youthful...."kid like graphics", I'm not sure how to keep the text aligned so that it doesn't jump when I dissolve or transistion between video text events.
Hope this makes sense. Ask away if it doesn't.
    All ideas appreciated.
    Mike

Thanks Ward and Grant.....good suggestions to get my mind working. Sometimes you get in a rut with ideas.
Grant, as to your question/comment on text alignment.
Most video editors accept just about any image that a person can create using a program like PS or PSE. You just have to import the images in as bitmaps or PSD...etc. My idea was to create my text elements, in this case, credit and titles, using PSE because it's so much more powerful than a basic CG or credit generator.
So, I'd have multiple pages with lines of text on each page. Creating those isn't unique.
But, the one thing that I can't seem to make the work flow easy with is this: If you create an image with PSE that has one line of text on it, then how can you easily repeat that placement of text in another image? Horizontal and vertical? I thought about using the grid, but that seems sort of----well---sloppy. Isn't there another "sure fire" method. For instance, in most video editing software packages you can place the text based on X and Y coordinates. That makes it easy to do over and over again. Oh, hey maybe the key in doing this would be to simply copy and then re-edit the text.....but I'm not sure about that yet. Maybe I'm just dreaming or complaining too much.
Hey thanks again for the ideas.
