does anyone have the Ideas for integrate two landscape that individually has one XI system?
our scenario is: in one customer side we have a xi as integration approach, and the other one also has one xi, we need to integrate them two landscape together
and use one of the xi server as a central access points.
my concern is : is it a good idea to reach this goal ? since this is a
task like; app in landscape 1 ---> xi1 -
> xi2 ---> app in landscape 2
are there any other solutions ?

Hello imac-users, my problem is: the superdrive accepts normal CDs, DVDs and is also burning them - for example music from itunes. But today I inserted 2 program DVDs - photoshop elements / Adobe and ms office 2011 for mac - and the superdrive does not accept them. After some seconds of running and noise, the DVDs are ejected - also no icon for the DVD on the desctop. So I think, it has something to do with OS X and not with the superdrive. Does anybody having the same problem - and an idea for a solution?
Not using any mouse pad, I have a very smooth desktop. But I just tried to use a sheet of A4 printing paper, but no result, the problem persisted.
Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!

How do I go about sharing between them?
Make sure both computers are set up to share their library on the local network.
iTune>Preferences>Sharing>Share my library on my local network.
Then, using the computer that you want to have the media on for yourself, go to the other computer's library, it should appear under Shared on the left, select everything you want to import and click "Import".
When it's done you can delete it all from the other computer, then you can just sign out of iTunes.
If you didn't do so previously, you'll want to authorize the computer that now has all the media on it with the older iTunes account.

How can I enable spell checking for a text box that is just one line, e.g. subject in e-mail?
In a prior version of Firefox I found a website somewhere that told me what to do to enable spell checking for text boxes that are just one line. I got used to being able to send an e-mail with a Subject Line that didn't have a misspelling. Now it doesn't work. Please tell me how I can enable that again. I am on a Mac using Firefox 6.0.2. Two emagent-Services on a one Database system

maybe someone can answer my question, which I am working on since several days.
I installed Oracle 10g Database and created a Database, after that I had one OEM running and accessible using the normal URL host:1158/em.
After installing Oracle HTTP-Server and Application Express there is another OEM-Service running, that I cannot access.
I had a look at the Process and Port-List and found out that one is started from the Database_Home and the other from the Http_Home.
In the Port-List there was one java.exe on Port 1158, which I can access, and another two listening on 1810 and 1850 which I am not able to access.
Furthermore there are two emagent processes shown, where one has two connections established on different ports and is listening on a third and the second process is listening on a single port.
Since both processes have there own java instance running, consuming dozens of MB virtual and RAM space, I would like to know if I really need the second emagent that I probably installed with the HTTP-Server.
And if I do not need it, how I can stop it, because there is no entry in the Windows services list to stop this service.

AlexAre you sure that while installing the Application Express you did not create a new database instance? I think that windows starts one emagent for each DB instance that has been created. It might be that installing Application Express you accidentally created a new instance? Or maybe you did the DB creation process more than once without dropping the previously created instance? I remember I used to have 4 instances running, each of them with their processes and my system became very very slow.
In the Oracle_Home/install/portlist.ini there is the list of the ports used by EM and in this file are shown even the previously configured instances EMs even if those instances have been dropped - but the processes should no longer been lunched.
For each instance, in this file the EM shows 2 different ports, one is the HTTP port (in your case 1158) and the other one is the EM agent port to connect to the instance. I have the feeling that one the ports you mentioned 1810 or 1850 should be this port (mine is 1830). You will not be able to access these ports via HTTP. So having one of them in use besides the HTTP service on 1158 should be fine.
Still I think it should not be the case to have 2 EM processes running unless you have 2 instances still active. Are you sure these java.exe processes are EM processes?

i tried to get this done a couple times and i either misunderstood how to use the script or there was some complication so i am returning to it. i would like to have a FILE or a FOLDER on my desktop that has a name which is TODAYS DATE.
the reason i need this:
i am using carbon copy cloner and when i plug in an external hard drive it runs a backup. i would like to make sure that the backup is /current/ and right now short of looking for a file that is new on my hard drive and then finding the same file on the backup i am not sure how to do this. i suppose there may be a way to do it in CCC but i would prefer something right in the backup. i need this for Lion and Mountain Lion.

My current idea for having two synchronized libraries...will this work?
I want to be able to have identical iPhoto libraries on my iMac and MacBook.. I understand that they can't be synchronized in the traditional way as other documents.
My current idea is to move the library to an external drive. This would allow me to operate iPhotos off either computer in the house. But I would also (manually, I guess) then occasionally recopy the external library back onto each machine. (Essentially creating a backup of the library on the computer itself.)
The iMac backup wouldn't need to be used. But the MacBook backup could be accessed when I left the house. Obviously, I then would have transfer the laptop changes to the external drive when I got back home.
Seems cumbersome, but is there any better way to accomplish what I want? (Two computers. Identical iPhoto library. Ability to leave the house with the laptop.)Yes. I ran a test library from my G5 and MacBook Pro. Changes made by one computer was picked up by the other. Even though Dropbox states that if both change a document at the same time it the person who saves first will "win" and the other's document will be includes as a separate file so the user can decide. That might be OK for a Word document but for a library it could get messy. Primarily since the size limit on the free Dropbox is 2GB getting a second library would most assuredly run you over the limit and it would not be saved.
The safest scenario is just allow one user at a time. I've contacted the developer regarding the 2 GB limit and the upgrade path. Currently there's only a 50GB upgrade at $99/yr. Both are too high in my opinion. I've suggested they consider a "family pack" of some type and with a sliding scale of upgrades, 5, 10, 15, 20, etc., with a similar scale for price.
I'll add you to the library and you'll get an email from Dropbox. Just download and install, go to the DB web site and accept. It will immediately put the library (4 pictures) in your dropbox and we can test it out. The invite is on it's way.

Idea for channel subscription program that would benefit MILLIONS of Verizon subscribers
Hello, Since Verizon is moving towards allowing customers to create their own TV packages to compete with streaming services, I have an idea that would certainly please millions of users. If I want to subscribe to HBO or the French channel, for example, all I have to do is press a button on my remote. However, if I want to cancel these channels, this necessitates a phone call to customer service. The benefit of streaming services is that we can't watch everything at once, so why pay to subscribe to 10 channels, when you can't possibly watch them all within the same month. I think that each time you subscribe to a channel (be it Showtime or the Russian language package), you should be charged a one-month minimum fee. You can cancel the subscription (online or using your remote) at any time, but you still pay for at least one full month. That way, I, for example, can subscribe to the French channel, watch it for a month, then cancel, then subscribe to the Portuguese and German channels, watch them for a month, then cancel, then sign up for Cinemax, watch it for three months... Each network is still getting the benefit of a full month's subscription, plus people would be more willing to sign up (and try out) more channel options if they know that their minimum commitment is only one month. If you haven't guessed by now, I like to watch TV in multiple languages, but I can't sign up for all the channels at once because 1) it's too expensive and 2) I can't watch all these channels in a month. I'm sure other people would sign up for a movie channel package to catch up on their favorite shows (I think people do this anyway with Game of Thrones, etc.) or a sports package until the season is over, etc. In other words, by making it easier for people to cancel channel/specialty package subscriptions online or using the remote (with the understanding that there is a minimum of one month), more people would subscribe to these channels - and some would keep them for several months. With the addition of streaming TV, DVR programming, etc. there is just too much TV available and we can't watch everything, so fewer people sign up for pay-for-view packages. This model would give people more control over how they watch TV. True there would be a lot of turning channels on and off (I, for example, would probably do this frequently). However, there would also be a huge increase in revenue from these channels, even if people cancel after one-month (then the onus is on the network to provide quality programming to retain the customer). Ideas for an iPhone 3GS that won't power on
Okay so I should be getting an iPhone 3GS off eBay in a couple of days (Non-Jailbroken). I found it in the wrong catagory so I bidded straight away expecting to get a £50 bargain only to read the small print that it was sent to be unlocked and came back and stopped working. Obviously I couldn't cancel the bid so I just thought I'd wait and see if it was a simple fix, if not, I'll sell it on and probably get a bit more for it (in the right catagory)
So the question is, anyone have any ideas on how this could be fixed apart from possibly a hard reset?I had the same problem this morning. Well I plugged it into the wall charger and got the phone to come on but it says no service, battery at 6% and the screen indicates that I need to connect the phone to itunes, but when I go to connect it the phone doesn't come on... I have another iphone on the same plan that works fine so I know that my Verizon service is fine. It just appears that the phone won't hold a charge or connect to itunes for diagnostic. Any advice???

Adding another iPhone to a computer that already has one registered
My iphone was recently stolen, and I am getting another one to replace the stolen one. Since I will be registering another phone to a computer that has an iPhone registered to it that no longer exists, will I be able to register another one? Also, I am on a family plan with my parents and siblings, so will I be able to keep the same account and number? Currently, I have suspended service from the stolen ipod.
An iPhone is not registered to a particular computer. You can activate an iPhone with one computer, and sync it with another. You can sync iTunes content and transfer photos from one computer, but you can sync contact information, calendar events, and bookmarks with multiple computers - with two Windows PCs, with two Macs, or with a Mac and a Windows PC.
You will be able to activate and sync your replacement iPhone with at&t with iTunes on the same computer that you activated and synced your iPhone with that was stolen. You will be able to activate your iPhone with the same account and phone number, but if you contacted at&t to report that your iPhone was stolen, you need to contact at&t to inform them that you purchased a new iPhone and you want to activate your new iPhone with the same number before you do the activation process with at&t.
iTunes creates and maintains a backup for each iPhone that is synced with iTunes on the same computer. After activating your iPhone, select Restore instead of syncing, and select from the backup for your iPhone that was stolen. Your settings from your iPhone that was stolen will be restored to your new iPhone before the sync process. -
Best design idea for parallel DAQ (via GPIB), PID control and watchdog system

I am a starter programmer in LabView, I already understand the basic ideas, and design patterns, like producer/consumer, events state machine, functional global variables, and so on, so the basics...
I started a project a few weeks ago, and first I wrote and tested all of the necessary subvi-s for my project, like the ones initializing my GPIB devices (a Keithley mux and a dvm), controlling/reading out the measured voltage/resistancy values from them, subvi for my Static Analog Output card (I have to drive 7 analog output channels, 4 has to be PID controlled regarding to some of the measured values from the GPIB devices), and another subvi for the analogue card, sending TTL watchdog signals out to my experiment in every 2 seconds.
Any idea is welcomed about suggesting the best design pattern for my project.
The main features of my program would be:
After starting the user interface the program starts with a start-up state, initializes the DAQmx channels and the GPIB devices. The program starts to read out different values from the GPIB devices, including 4 temperature values in every 3 seconds.
In the same loop (?), using PID control, the program sets the DC voltage values of 4 channels (3 to heating wires, 1 to a Peltier-heat pump) on the Static Waveform Analogue output card, the remaining 3 values are constants.
I have to send digital TTL watchdog signal to some relays from the same output card, changing its state in every 2 seconds (not the same rate as the GPIB values are read out).
When the 4 temperatures and the power values regarding to the heating wires are equilibrated after a few hours, the program goes into another state, and signals to the user, that the measurement can be started. During a measurement, I write out all of the measured values to a TDMS file, and there is also some basic calculations "on the fly", like a moving average.
After the measurement done, the user can swap samples, and the program goes into the above state, waiting for equilibration . and so on...
Do you think I should use a Producer/Consumer pattern with events? Or someone would recommend me a better design idea?

ps.: I read out lots of values from the Keithleys, so I put them in a cluster. I made a small test vi (attached without the GPIB comm subvi-s), just to test the GPIB comm. So this is the recent state of my project. (all other subvi-s tested and ready to use as I wrote above, like the DAQmx output part)

I think it is a better approach if I work first, and after I ask
I go with small steps. For first, now I just want to make a DAQ analog output loop, and parallel a watchdog loop sending out TTL in every 2 seconds.
The main loop in my project will iterate with approx. 10-15 seconds.
I want to check in my watchdog loop, if my main loop hangs up (in that case the PID control stops, but the danger is if the output voltages stay on).
After some readings, I have decided to use a functional global variable.
I have attached the vi, can someone give me advice, what would be the good solution for this purpose?
(I know it is a bit silly what I messed up with the shift registers in the bottom loop, it was some experimenting).
