IdeaTab A2107 Screen gives me headaches
So you would think I learned my lesson with the K1 tablet but I guess I am a masochist or something.
Saw the IdeaTab A2107 refurb on sale for around $80 from Lenovo site. Figured since the mother in law liked my Nexus 7 because of the size and ease of use to read magazines/books I can get her this and score some brownie points.
Got the tablet on Tuesday. After about 20 minutes of using it I started getting a headache! Now I have gone on for over 5 hours reading on my Nexus and never had any issue with it.
So I started to see maybe it was the brightness settings or something on the IdeaTab A2107 (do tablets even have a refresh rate?).
Then I noticed something. While the screen is in portrait mode if you tilt it to the right it has this weird effect. The screen becomes darker and you lose detail (almost like looking through the "dark" side of a set of 3D glasses). Now if you tilt it to the left you don't have this happening and everything looks fine.
So the issue is where if you look at the screen straight on in portrait mode, the right eye sees the screen fine with full detail and color. However the left eye sees less detail and the colors are darker. (My wife was wondering what I as doing closing the left then right then left eye over and over while trying to figure this out!)
If you have the screen in landscape mode the effect does not occur (unless you tilt the screen up/down, but our eyes aren't set in that configuration anyways so it did not bother me).
I was curious if anyone else has had this issue? I already put in the request to return the tablet since I have only had it for 2 days now (and I have learned my lesson with the previously mentioned K1 tablet).
Agree, the new notes is useless. If I wanted a blank background, with a washed out looking font I would use my email, except the font in my email is dark enough to read easily in the grocery.
Interesting to note how awkward the top menu is in iOS7 on a message board, it constantly drops down when selecting text.

I know this has been a briefly discussed issue a few years ago. I also have seen on other forums that people reply with sarcasm and disbelief. I love my iPhone 4; however, I get screaming headaches after using it for any length of time (obviously worsens the longer the phone call). Whatever pocket I carry it in (now no longer do) I would experience muscular pain. I didn't realise it was the phone until whenever I got a pain, my hand would land right on the phone. I had a heachache issue with my old non, smart phone LG when talking on it for over 20 mins. Has anyone discovered a solution or know of a worthwhile case that will stop the issue? Anyone know what the actual problem is? I would like to keep using it, or a different smart phone if it ends this issue. Thanks in advance.
I have these headaches too after a week of having my 4s phone. I tested it myself with a 3-axis RF field strength meter and its really crazy - when the phone rings or you access email, the field goes crazy- about 100 times the normal level- all this is to say is that we're getting an awful dose or radiation. Of course, I also tested my old phone which is actually supposed to have one of the lowest radiation and an old flipphone but it was even higher than the 4S! I give up. I think all the bad stuff gets tucked away in the marketing. Anyway, I didn't get a doctrate for nothing- I love my iphone but I'm returning it and getting something else or using skype on the itouch or something-- if that doesn't work, its back to the dark ages.

Apple give me headaches literally!
I work with Mac displays all day long for my job as a Photo editor, However I've been working more hours and more on my iMac because I also have school which I tend to spend many more hours at the computer when I get home. Well over the last three weeks I've been getting extreamly bad headaches and even a little blurry vision. I recently also bought a Macbook Pro 13 inch (mid-2012) and within 5 min of using it I get an extream headache. I know there are lots of theories out there about screen flicker and everything, I've visited my doctor and everything is normal with me, I even had a CT scan done because they wanted to make sure it was nothing internal. I'm assuming that I have eye strane happening when I use these Apple displays. The only odd thing about it is I can Use my Asus laptop, my Ben Q 27 inch Monitor and my TV for several hours and Not one headache or eye strane. Any ideas why This only tends to happen with Apple Products? maybe a diffrent fliker rate or something.
Occasionally I've had similar symptoms and raised the matter in other discussions but the key with iMacs has always come down to the glare from the glass screen rather than flicker. I think this is why the retina screen was recently introduced.
It is a bit pricey to suggest you buy one to try but if you could get yourself into a local dealer, even a few minutes might show up any major difference. I have no experience with MacBooks so I can't compare. -
Is anyone else feeling the same way....why did you fix something that wasn't broken? I purchased an expensive ipad and liked the features, with one click I accepted the IOS7 operating system, not being informed of what I would lose, if I chose to upgrade...I was only informed about those things that would work better...not impressed with the new floating look to the screen, makes me feel light headed, bringing on a migraine...anyone else having problems with the new system?

Navigational attribute in selection screen gives no applicable data
Hi Gurus
In the report i am using the navigational attribute in the selection screen.e.g Brand (attribute of material)
My problem is whenevr i enter value in the navigational attribute (brand) in the selection screen and execute its says no data found.
If i do not fill this parameter and fill only the parent attribute (material) in the selection screen , then i can see the results and from its properties (drilling down )i can see the values of brand .
If the values of brand exist why via selection screen its not giving vales, However Via material i can drill down and see brand values.
I have done all the necessary steps to make this attribute as navigational.
On top of this i have this same navigation attributes as one of the characterisitc in the cube.

I've the same problem... for new nav. attributes for 0Material.
Settings for nav. attibutes in BEx Q.D. are OK.
But in BEx Analyzer:
1- not display all values for this attributes. Some values are displayed, some don't.
I try display it with and without selection screen. The result is the same.
2- I try to display (normal) attributes - not nav. In this case everything is OK.
But I've 2 columns: normal attribute for all values and nav. attribute only with some values...
(the query is something like: 0Material + 0Material_NOTnav_attr + 0Material_NOTnav_attr)
It isn't a normal...
I don't know... Maybe it's depend of the time?
I can't clear all master data for 0Material, because they're used in some cubes. I had old characteristic without nav. attr. but with master data. I added nav. attr. in 0Material and activated it. Next I load master data (full method). Then I added nav. attr. in infocube, activated it, delete and load data into the cube (Init + Delta).
If I display data for the cube in RSA1, I can see nav. attr. for all records. I can't see it in BEx Analyzer...
Can U explain it?

I do have a problem that when using iPhone with the new iOS7 I do get a headache, and so do several of my company employees. I have tried to turn of in settings but this do not help... I would be sad to have to replace all iPhones in the company, but the cost with employees becoming dizzy is quite bad.
I hope that Appple do take this seriously, and will come up with a fix soon?Turn of parallax effect by going to
Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Reduce Motion and turn that off.
Also I would keep brightness to minimal. -
Accessing DBMS_AQ from Apex screen gives an error

I have created an Advanced queue (DBMS_AQ) in my schema and i can successfully enqueue and dequeue messages through a stored proc.
But when i call the same stored proc from an APEX screen, i get the following error.
"ORA-24010: QUEUE APEX_PUBLIC_USER.<Q_name> does not exist."
As AQ admin and even as SYSDBA, the following permissions were given, but still
no luck.

Yes, I also had those problems, but with playback of an avi file (without drm) and the standard player. Downloaded vlc player from Google Market and there playback is fine...

Can not add new contact to the phone, screen gives no place to type in name
In the past had no issued adding a new contact to iPhone 5s, now when that screen is opened there is no possibility to type names phone number etc.
How do I fix this?Let's get your contacts updated, Scoop29! May I ask what software version are you running? Check through Settings>General>About. Are you given any " " or Edit option for existing contacts? I am eager to get to the bottom of this!

I am wondering how you can tell if the micro sd card is used as the primary storage. When I go to Settings it shows USB, SD Card, etc. but doesn't really let me know where my apps are being saved to.
Also, this is NOT a dual Sim machine. When I inserted my 32g sd card there are not SIM slots available.
Just need pointed in the right direction for support or info on how to 'use' this tablet. So different from my itouch!I blieve you tThe device is partitioned to internal storage USB storage. You also have the ability to store to a SD card. Not to hijack the thread but....on a related issue. I'm having an issue with the icon for apps that get moved from the tablet storage to USB storage no longer appearing. They still show up under the App tray, but not on the screen. However, any apps still saved to the tablet continue to show up.

My daughter gave me her old iPhone 3G. I started loading my own info before doing a complete "Reset". My iMac at home now give me a message that it is time to Sync 432 Contacts. They happen to be my daughters contacts. The window has no Cancel or Delete option. How do I get rid of or stop the Sync other than let it go and then start deleting them? Help! Ron

OK, that was not a serious comment but there is truth here, and it should not be?
Equipment:
Imac 10.4.11
Photoshop CS3
Canon printer
monitor callibrated with Spyder 3 Pro
Colour management policy accurate in theory,
Working space same as camera space same as embedded profiles from Raw.Adobe RGB1998,
working in 16 bit, minor adjustments in raw, and CS3.
paper used - Photo Paper Plus Glossy (PP101)
Printer profile set to SP2 (same as semi gloss unfortunatley)
Detailed setting used in apple print dialogue to highest which is 2 unfortunately, not 1.
Screen is set to Soft proof before print for above paper.
PROBLEM:
1. Blues and Greens always less saturated than screen
2. Prints generally slightly darker, This is problem with grays and shadows being darker than screen.
3. Oranges less saturated
4. Colours often, in general, are bland and lack the impact that I see even in the soft proof.
QUESTION:
What could be going wrong? I have used the channel mixer to compensate for colours, but this I was doing before i bought the spyder3 Pro. I should not have to do this. Does the printer convert on the fly a 16 bit data image to 8 bit, because I never convert before sending to the printer? In windows my printer shows the option to print using Adobe RGB 1998. But in my Mac I do not see this option, could it be that the printer is using s'RGB regardless of what CS3 sends to it?
I have been struggling with these issues for a few weeks now and can find no solution. EXCEPT, that when i tilt my LCD monitor upwards I get better colour accuracy, the darker parts of images are more in line with the photo. YET, i have profiled the monitor at least 15 times over the past 2 weeks.
I am Lost. Can anywhere help please?

The matching of spot colors on a monitor display is a tricky business in itself. Of the 1100 or so colors in the Pantone Coated palette, about 140 are more than 3 DeltaE 2000 outside of the gamut of sRGB (using Relative Colorimetric) and about 185 are more than 2 DeltaE 2000 off. The peak color difference is at 13 DeltaE.
But many of the monitors out there don't even cover sRGB, which is a relatively small color space. My Apple Studio Display has a gamut 15% *smaller* than sRGB, for example: more than 200 of the Pantone coated colors are 3 DeltaE 2000 or more outside its gamut (with a peak at 11.4 DeltaE), and 265 are off by 2 DeltaE or more.
On the other hand, the newer higher-end displays from Eizo and NEC-Mitsubishi (and others too from Samsung and HP) cover gamuts that are far wider, enough to cover AdobeRGB or larger.
Only 35 Pantone coated colors are outside AdobeRGB by 3 DeltaE 2000 or more, and 65 by 2 DeltaE 2000 or more (the highest color difference is a much more moderate 6.2 DeltaE).
Not perfect, but a much better situation -- all due to using a better monitor (which, yes, is also more expensive). -
IdeaTab A2107 Movie sound sync problems
Hi Guys, I have just bought the Ideatab 2107a, and first impressions its a well built device. However I have downloaded 2 differen tmovies from google play to see how the run as I will want to watch them on a forthcoming flight, but when I tried it the sound is about 15 -20 seconds out of sync making film unwatchable. Any suggestions welcomed.

I contacted Lenovo and agree they are as much use as a chocolate teapot ( I doubt they would even understand that!)
I have now installed MX Player 1.7.17 and found that this works well with streamed video.
I have other 10" devices for business use, and this 2107 was just going to be used as a convenient device for watching movies on flights and quick check of emails etc, and to be honest the build quality size and price ticked the boxes especially with 3G
I Find it really sad however that the complete lack of customer care and support from an IBM company.
I also have totally redundant icons for Lenovo APP shop which cannot be installed....future support ?......not likely !!
