Idenity Manager - Documentation? Opinions?

I'm trying to get enough information about the Identity Manager to enable me to evaluate it for my organization, but I can only find white paper stuff.
Does anyone know where some documentation is for setting up the manager, using it, etc.? I've looked on docs.sun.com, but have only found documents about Directory Server and Identity Server/Access Manager.
I think the product is so new that Sun doesn't have a lot of info online. Any help in finding info or comments about the product would be helpful.

it is not so new, it is (was) Waveset that sun bought.
You willonly find whitepapers, product docs come with the purchased product

Solution Manager: documentation of Retrofitting transport requests

Hi All
I would know if anyone has implemented retrofit functionality in SAP Solution Manager? The documentation for this functionality is very poor in sap service market place and I would improve my knoleges for a new project.

I was about to ask the same question, i am investigating on Retrofit and i confirm that documentation is very poor...
Here are the informations i found :
Retrofit functionalities :
It is native after SP12 and completly usable after SP14
SP16 most of the bugs are corrected.
If you encounter some issue during functional implementation you can read these 3 OSS notes to help you.

Solution Manager documentation

We are planning to use documentation management functionality to upload all our documents (blueprints, config, test plans etc) in Solution manager. We have a big repository of documents that need to the uploaded.
Is there a recommended way to mass upload these documents or do we need to upload each document manually?
Is there any other way to attach the documents at the database level? We are trying to minimize the manual work here, as we have hundreds of docs. Any suggestion is welcome.

With reference to the upload process, understanding that it is a bit of a pain but the context of the docuements to the respective project objects is necessary as the underlaying technoloogy (knowledge wharehouse) merely holds the documents but they need to be linked, logically to some part of the Solar T-Codes or RMMAIN T-Code to have any relevence to the activities that you are going to use them in or have re-use for them at a later point.
So if the intent is to use these for structured projects, they need a place to go and that will make the process manual. The method of re-use does somewhat require that your documents have some type of presence in a project or otherwise to referenece them over to current activiites.

when i prepare documentation about answers and dashboards in OBIEE, i redact two kinds of documents: user document and develop document.
- user document. In this document, i explain how users should handle prompts, and i explain with an example what they should do for getting results. To brief this, this document explain how to handle the report.
- develop document. It's a technical document, for OBIEE workers. Here i explain for example filters, columns formula...useful for make easy future changes.

Connection manager documentation

I'm having trouble finding some good documentation on Oracle Connection Manager, can anybody point me in the right direction.
I'm looking in to how it might be used to proxy SQLnet in order to satisfy firewall requirements, and I'm at the stage of what does it do and what are the hardware and pre-requisite requirements, rather than needing in depth configuration info at the moment.

Plant Management documentation serialized equipment stock adjustments

In the Plant Management module is there any documentation how to make serizlized equipment stock adjustments within a plant. When to change the equipment status for a material to ie ALVB, ECUS, ESTO, etc.

Yes this PM-MM integration through Serial Numbers is tricky and not many resources are available.
IMHO for material types that can be serialized, I would make the serialization profile mandatory through field selection or user-exit. This way the material would be always moved according to the serial profile rules.
I just found there is a new documentation available from SAP. Do a Google Search on "Serial Number Management (126)" that should get you to the following URL: http://help.sap.com/bp_bl603/BBLibrary/HTML/126_EN_CA.htm
Using serial numbers, you can track each individual material during goods movement. This building block includes the configuration settings for serial number management and shows the serial number handling on finished goods level.
As always with Best Business Process, you want to check the "Configuration Guide" and the "Business Process Documentation".
Display Serial Number Status
...     You will the status of the serial number. There could be more than one active status:
AVLB      Available
ECUS      At customer site
EDEL      Assigned in delivery note

SAP allows a configuration setting for 3 different batch levels. This will effective your possibilities. Option Number 2 is the default configuration for SAP out of the box :
1.) Plant - can allow for the Batch Management Flag on a material sold out of 2 different plants to be set independently. Batch numbers can be used for multiple materials, and batch specifications and analytical results can be different for each batch (multiple batch Master records).
2.)Material - Batch Management flag is set the same for the material across all plants that use it. Batch numbers can be used for multiple materials, however, batch specification and analytical results are the same for the batch (one Batch Master Record).
3.) Client - Batch Management flag is set the same for material across all plants that use it. Batch number can only be used for one material across the client. (one Batch Master Record).
If the Batch level flag is set at the Client level, it allows for a batch number to be used with only one material throughout the entire SAP client. This is troublesome with products which are produced in bulk and then packaged into smaller size containers for sale. Due to the limitation of having only one batch number per material, when the product is packaged, new batch numbers have to be assigned to the finished packages, even though the same bulk material is being used inside the package. Because of this work-a rounds have been created and business processes adjusted to accommodate this restriction.
There is a process in SAP that will allow for the conversion of the Batch Level in SAP from Client level to Material level. Please investigate SAP notes 41715, 891902, 893053, 900359 among others, and it appears that there is a conversion program in SAP that will do this in configuration.
