Identifieng Webdynpro component name from the portal screen

Dear experts,
I have included 4 custom fields in the header of the Shopping cart creation which are Change order New order Document type and Document number( In SPRO ). Those fields are appearing as input fields on the portal screen but the requirement is to make Change order & New Order appear as Radio button and Document type should appear as dropdown list.
I wanted to identify the webdynpro component by Right clicking on th portal custom fields-> More info
I tried opening the webdynpro component shown but could not find the Custom fields appearing in the portal.
Can you please suggest an alternate way of finding the the exact WDA component so that I can modify the custom fields according to my requirement.

Hi Murthy,
You have checked correctly.
The custom fields added thru spro are not visible in the component view layout.
Enchance the webdynopro component by creating new addition of fields.

Right Click on any UI Element in Portal->Go to more field help->TEchical Information. You can see all the information about component, application, ui elements etc.

How to get the transaction name from the Webdynpro portal in SRM 7.0

Hello Experts,
Would you please let me know the procedure to get the current transaction name from the SRM 7.0 portal.
Is there any similar procedure like in ITS to get the transaction Name/Template Name in "View Source" of the portal. Our primary requirement is to find the root cause(by debugging) from SAP GUI.

Is it possible to take a print from the Portal

Hello All,
Is it possible to take a print out from the Portal.
Let me be more clear about the case:
We have designed some charts (Time Scatter) in our WebDynpro projects and displayed it in the Portal. Now, the Team is enquiring if the Print out of the generated charts could be taken from the portal by providing a button. Or else they will have to save the chart as an image and take a print out.
Please let me know how can it be done if possible.

The print functionality can be included by writing a Separate PortalComponent and calling the component when the print button is clicked on any page.
In the JSP call the print cmponent By using

We cannot access the portal service in the browser as the service wont produce any http request. Instead you can access & utilize the service in the the portal component such as JSP Dunpage etc. which will produce the http request and display the result or o/p on the broswer.

Guys this is absolute rubbish feature of the login application where people's login names get recorded in the dropdown menu. Is there any more permanent way of getting rid of this annoying privacy intrusive "feature"? I would like to have a profile with a username that is not going to appear at airports and my grandma's laptop after I log out of skype and no I do not want to go digging for app files to remove my entire history on each and every machine I use as suggested by your help files. How do I remove my email address from the lock screen? My dad bought me a new laptop after mine was stolen from my house on New Year's Eve. I'm a little tighter on my security now and when I turn on my laptop the lock screen shows me my name and my email
address. If my laptop gets stolen again, I don't want my email address to be displayed for someone to use or sell as I'm extremely picky about what I'm giving out my email for. If there isn't a way to hide my email address, I'm going to demand a "downgrade"

When i changed the names of my books in iTunes, it did not changed in the iPad after i had synced it again with the changes. can anyone help? i had added authors to the author column and deleted their names from the book titles.

i had added books to iBooks on iTunes and synced with my iPad mini. Then I realised that the titles sometimes had the author name, or a random number before it. I made changes to all the books in my iTunes library, edited the titles, added authors to the author columns, year in year column etc and synced my iPad again. but my iPad did not update these changes at all is still in the old way. can this be rectified?

Have you tried closing the app via the taskbar ? (I assume that your iPad is on iOS 6, though the version that your tagline shows, 6.1.6, is not a version for iPads) From the home screen (i.e. not with iTunes store app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iTunes app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

How to get the list (vector) of selected channels from the portal

I try to retrieve the selected channels from the portal to use them in my script. I use "DataCheckChnls". Is it possible to convert it to a vector, to use it after in in for next structure.
I would like to do specific calculus for each selected channel. Must I use another method ?

What you get is an array of strings containing the channel name. In standard use these names are unique and could be transfered to a channel numbers with the CNo command. Try this code to understand this:

Retrieve input values from the selection screen

I have a requirement to retrieve the variable value or values inputed from the selection screen and label the worksheet tab to replace the tab name 'Sheet1' from the Excel. The only way to do this would be to write a macro to label the sheets but how would I retrieve the value(s) from the selection screen criteria? Is the value of the selection screen entered by the user stored in some table? How would I write the macro to retrieve this value?
For example, I want to retrieve the company code entered from the selection screen and lets say the company code entered as 10; I would want to replace the worksheet from 'Sheet1' to '10' . Texts would be more recognizable.

Use the option Layout->Display Text Elements->Variables from the BEx toolbar. This will display Variable screen user input on your workbook in a fixed location. Then you can use your macro to name the worksheet with the cell reference.

How to reduce the the scrool bar size in the Portal screen

Hello,
We have recently migrated the EP from 7.0 to 7.3 and after the Upgreade we are facing issue in the Portal screen where the Scroll bar length in the Right Corner side is extended it's size.
Can any one please let me know where & how to reduce the the size of the scroll bar.
Since it's a new upgrade i am unable to get the exact parameter to change related to this Scroll bar Setting.

It looks like a custom masthead on FAT? Debug the issue with the browser tools, adapt your source and re-deploy. Does this occurs also on SAP standard framework page?

Printing a report with print sheets from the portal

It is my understanding that a print sheet uses a variant to make a connection between the variable settings set in the web portal and the variable / filtering settings that are used when printing a report. It is also my understanding that without a print sheet and variant that when a user prints a report from the portal that the printed report would not have the same filtering (variable settings) as what the user sees in the report. I have created a report and a print sheet that uses a variant, but when we view reports in the portal there is not a print icon... we can only print from the browser. Printing from the browser only prints what is on the screen, not a formatted report set up in the reporting agent. How do I print a report that uses a variant and a print sheet set up in the reporting agent to be available to print from the portal... i.e. display an icon to print the report? If you have a better or more detailed explanation of what a print sheet is and how to set it up, please include that as well.

The BW Reporting agent print settings is used for batch printing of BW reports not online printing from the web.
Currently there are no SAP delivered formatted reporting print functionality for BW. BI 7.0 will have formatted reporting and PDF export options.
SAP had recently released a How to Document on printing using MS Excel. See the attached link for the same.

After my installation (oas portal 10.1.4) I changed my URL in portal and sso.

Parallel Page Engine (PPE) : http://<webserver>:<port>/portal/page --> its working fine. I got PPE is working.
http://login.hostname:port/oiddas --> It`s working fine
http://login.hostname:port/sso --> It`s working fine
http://hostname:port/portal/page/portal/TOPLEVELSITE --> It's not working I got in firefox Error: Page Metadata could not be obtained from the Portal database. In explorer i got HTTP 500 error.
I checked my application.log and I got this:

Unless, you had installed your OAS with custom ports, and have not used the default ports for the components, your lsnr_token for the newurl has a problem. orasso and sso should be configured at 7777, and by default they configure at that port. That means that your newURL should be pointing to http://newurl.com:7777/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login for the ls_login_url.
This might have happened due to some error in registering your portal with the SSO. Have you used custom ports for your installations?
Additionally, did you configure your newurl on port 80?
