Identify conflicts in recurring Outlook appointments

1. When booking a recurring appointment I get "some instances of this recurring appointment conflict with other appointments on your calendar".  I would like to find out where they are (the bookings may be weekly for a year).
2. I'm still using Outlook XP (Outlook 2002) on an XP machine.  So this may have been solved years ago!
3. I have researched this online and can't find any response other than one that says "As far as I know, outlook doesn’t offer this function" and suggests this is logged here.  There are posts on numerous forums but none of them results in any advice
for these circumstances.

Hi,
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to view what instances of recurring appointments are conflicting. You might have check that manually.
Change the view to Active view and under recurrence group check which appointment has the same timing.

  • ITunes changing date of recurring Outlook appointments during sync

I have had intermittent problems syncing recurring Outlook appointments since I got my iPhone 3G. I have a pc running Vista and Outlook 2007 and iTunes 10.1.0.54 and iOS 4.2.1. iTunes used to sync some all-day events and make them 11pm to 11pm the starting the previous day on my iPhone. It wasnt all, just some, having something to do with the numerical equivalent of the anniversary date. I spent a lot of time e-mailing apple engineers to get it fixed. It was fixed and worked for a while and then after an iTunes update broke again and started moving some all-day events to the previous day on my iPhone. Luckily it was fixed the next day. Everything was fine again for a while and now with the new iTunes update it is broken again. Some all-day events on my outlook sync to the previous day on my iPhone. If I look at my contacts on the phone(and my pc) the birthday will be correct, e.g. 10/7/1948, but if I look at the calendar on my phone, the birthday will show on October 6, even though Outlook shows a recurring appointment on October 7.

I don't have a lot of confidence in Apple either when it comes to sync-ing.
And ... yeah ... "You would think" ... it could be tested a little more cleverly ... (of course that's a dangerous way to start a sentence when you are discussing the behavior of a large corporation or government ;-/ )
There was a comment on another thread that one of the recent Microsoft security patches to Outlook caused the issue but I have no detail on that and have not seen any collaboration.
I watch the sync. process on my machine and it goes through "sync-ing the calendar" but ... does NOTHING. If it can't sync correctly "you would think" it would at least have the courtesy to warn that it was falling down on the job but ... nope it doesn't see to do so...
Not sure that as end-users we have any tools that can help in the debug:

  • Conflict resolution between Outlook and iPhone

Once again, when trying to resolve conflicts between my Outlook and my iPhone, I am told that the system can't access the server and conflicts can't be resolved.  This error message commenced with IOS 5 and one could expect it to be resolved by now.
This is today's issue but, perhaps someone can explain that even when hitting iCloud refresh, appointments don't always transpose to my iPhone and almost never to my iPad2.   This has been ongoing for some months and, mostly, I ignore it but, every now and again, I feel bound to process.
My iPhone has settings for three calendars, including birthdays.  I wonder why the iPad 2 doesn't have the same options?
Do I feel better for saying all this?  Not really.
    Cheers
    Ron

You choose which one you want to keep. You can not merge the two entries.
Your Palm pilot would not allow you to do this either in a note. It's one or the other. If you had created items in a to do list (reminders for example), each line item is a separate record. In notes, each note is a single piece of data. If you change both, you end up with a conflict, which is what happened.

  • How do I get my Outlook appointments to display on my iPhone?

I have an iPhone 4S with iOS 6.0.1, and I am trying to push my Outlook 2010 calendar from my Windows PC to my iPhone.
Previously, I had been using Google Calendar Sync to push my Outlook calendar to my Google calendar. I then had my Google calendar synced with my iPhone. This didn't work flawlessly, but at least I could see my Outlook appointments on my iPhone.
I have since switched to a different computer, and I can no longer install Google Calendar Sync because Google is no longer offering it.
I set up iCloud on my PC, and now when I have Outlook open, I can see my iCloud appointments in the Outlook calendar window under a separate tab called "Drew's iPhone Calendar." However, I cannot see my Outlook appointments on iCloud or on my iPhone.
How do I push my Outlook appointments to iCloud? I'd rather not use exchange, but if it's the only option, I should be able to do so.
Thanks in advance for your help!

iTunes does not have the ability to display karaoke lyrics.
If you purchased a song from the iTunes Store labeled "karaoke," it is just an instrumental backing track.

  • Outlook Appointments received as email not calendar appointment

Using enterprise server.  some outlook appointments are being received as an email calendar notification; not a calendar appointment that shows on my calendar.  I have V4.7.1.6.1 and my assistant has V5.0.0.975 and his BB Tour 9630 does not have this problem.

    Hi,
What’s the procedure when you assign task?
When I assign task to others, they can Accept or Decline this task in the message. If we attach this task as attachment, they will receive this message with task as attachment and just can view this task, no accept, no decline.

  • Exceptions to recurring calendar appointments no longer show up

    Hi All,
I recently upgraded to iOS 5.0 (and the new 5.0.1 update) and since making the change, exceptions to recurring calendar appointments made in my Exchange Calendar no longer show up on my phone. This is a bit annoying and I'm wondering if anybody else has run into this problem and has found a solution for it. I have tried turning on and off the calendars and deleting my iCloud account. I have not yet fully deleted and re-setup my email account, and am hoping I won't have to.
    I appreciate the help.

  • Desktop Manager Synchronizes Multiple (30 plus) Entries of my Recurring Annual Appointments

I am utilizing Desktop Manager 4.7 with my Pearl 8110.  When performing a synchronization, the process is synchronizing over 35,00 (35K) entries in calendar because it is processing multiple (over 30 years worth) of recurring annual appointments such as birthdays.  I have limited the scope of the sync to "0 days prior & 365 days after today" but to no avail.  Any suggestions much appreciated.

  • Outlook 2003 & Recurring Calendar Appointments

I am using Windows XP, Microsoft Exchange Server, with an itouch. If Outlook and itunes were open at the same time, or Outlook was opened after itunes, Outlook would fail to properly operate and would respond: Outlook0.ost is in use and could not be accessed.
For me, this problem was solved be eliminating all recurring appointments in Outlook that did not have an end date. Once end dates for all recurring appointments were set, outlook seems to behave properly now.

I am having the same issue and the article you're suggesting only relates to a Mac operating system. Whereas I do own a Mac (Mac Mini & Macbook), this issue is occuring when I'm attempting to sync my iPhone with my calendar & contacts at the office.
I just recently upgraded to Office 2007 from Office 2003 and now when I try to sync, it seems to get stuck during the syncing of contacts. I am just an end user and my company does not support iPhone so there aren't any changes I can make to the exchange server, etc....
Please help!!!! I desperately need access to my updated calendar appointments.

  • Alerts for recurring calendar appointments do not go off

Does anyone else have this issue?  I have a bunch of recurring calendar events, set up in Outlook 2010, which the iPhone 4 used to show alerts for.  Now (not sure when this started, but w/in last few months) there aren't any alerts even though I can see "1 day before" in the iPhone Calendar app for the recurring event.  I even made a slight change to the recurring event in hopes of getting them back on track but no luck.  Thanks.

I'm having the exact same issue with my iPhone 4 (iOS 4.3.3, 4.3.4 and 4.3.5). I'm a new user (this is my first iPhone, bought one month ago), so I can't comment on earlier iOS versions. In the one month that I have the phone, I'm absolutely sure that I have never had an alert from a recurring event. I only noticed it a couple of weeks ago. I'm only using all-day events (for anniversaries, etc.), so I'm not sure if the same applies to other types of events.
I have made several tests and I can confirm that no alerts are generated for recurring all-day events. Something is seriously messed up in the Calendar App algorithms. At first I thought it had to do with MS Outlook 2007, whose calendar is synced with the iPhone. But when I create a recurring all-day event directly on the iPhone I get exactly the same behaviour (no alert, no pop-up, no sound, nothing). I can see the event on Calendar on the iPhone, and I can also see the alert settings (the time it should be generated, e.g., "Alert: 2 hours before"). So everything looks OK on the iPhone, but the alerts are never generated. I also did a test with a non-recurring all-day event, and everything worked fine (I got the alert pop-up and sound at the time I specified). This means that it's something specific to recurring events. Finally, I restored the iPhone to factory defaults and tried again by creating a recurring event directly on the untouched, factory-reset iPhone. Same thing, no alerts, no pop-ups, no sound, nothing.
This is clearly a serious bug in the Calendar App and I'm very surprised that Apple has not released an update to fix it. Also, I couldn't find much information on the Internet about this issue. That's why I'm replying to this thread, to let you and others know that you are not alone. I asked a friend of mine who is running iOS 5 Beta 2 and he said that everything works fine, so I guess we'll have to wait for iOS 5 to fix the issue.
I hope this helps someone out there. If anyone running iOS 4.3.3 or later is having the same problem, please reply here. Most of all, I hope that the guys at Apple read this and do something about it.

  • Web-Outlook appointments which are one year before the current date are removed

    Hi,
my Web-Outlook works fine with my iPHONE4s but the appointments which are one year befoer the current date are removed.
Is there an option to keep all appointments?
    regards
    Andreas

For the OST problem, delete the OST file and let Outlook create a new one.  But your problem may be that Outlook connects to Exchange 2013 using Outlook Anywhere only--MAPI RPC is gone--and for that you need a valid certificate.  So the self-signed
certificate is likely your main problem.
For a self-signed certificate to work, you must add it to every client as a trusted certificate.  That is hard to do with mobile devices, which is why it's recommended to obtain a certificate from a trusted public certificate authority.  You'd
probably find Go Daddy to be reasonably priced, and there are others.
