How to identify if a particular user is authenticated locally in Apps 11i/R12 or against OID?
I think FND_USER TABLE.

Correct - if the USER_GUID in FND_USER is populated, then the user is authenticated via OID/SSO, else user is authenticated locally.

I can use SCCM to do this too, but only for those that the client is running on and which are online. Thanks again.
Hope is not all lost; a scripting solution is still possible. The difference is instead of running a central script to pull info from all computers, you let the computers report back to you with the info.
If I were you, I'd do the following:
1) Create a file share and adjust the permissions so that "Domain Computers" have "Modify" Permissions.
2) Create a script similar to the 2nd link I posted above, with a bit of adjustment: at the end of the script, write the information to the file share created in (1), and name the file
ComputerName.txt
3) Use Group Policy Preference Scheduled Task to deploy the script, and make sure it only runs once.
4) Happily wait for the results to come back :)
The main benefit of this approach is you're not restricted by the computer connectivity at the moment you run the script. This is especially true if you have many mobile computers in your environment. Just wait for a reasonable time (they all need
to come back to the mother ship once a while don't they?) and the results will show up in the file share you created.

Internal Web Authentication + Local Net User

Hi all,
I'm trying to setup the WLC with internal web authentication + local net user account. I've setup a WLAN for this local net user configure the user profile map to this WLAN.
When the laptop get associated with the designated WLAN, and user tried to browse to the internet, the internal web authentication page doesn't appear on the browser.
I'm just curious is there any DNS server require in order to direct the user entered URL request to the virtual interface?

Well if you are using webauth for guest users, you really want to have an open ssid and wither have a username and password on the wlc or use a passthrough webauth where the guest users just have to click submit or accept. If you are using this for internal users, then you really shouldn't use webauth since this will not be single sign on. Again, you can if you want your internal users to sign on again. There is wpa/wpa2 PSK and then there is wpa/wpa2 8021.x in which this will require either using local EAP or a Radius Server. Ther radius server will either have the local user accounts or you can point this to AD. Depending on if you use EAP-PEAP (certificate on the radius server only) or EAP-TLS (certificate on both the radius and clinet) you will need a certificate.
For webauth only, you do not need a certificate on the user or radius server, a certificate will be required on the wlc if you don't want users to be promted with a certifcate error message. 5.1 supports unchained certificates, but I always use RapiddSSL for a root ca cert just to make deployment mush simpler for the client. So webauth and EAP will require certifcates with webauth being optional.

Can not open pdf files. It says C:\users\pc\AppData\Local\Temp\.....pdf application not found

When your computer “wake up” from “sleep” mode, the RAM will be able to respond to a wake-up event and calling files for program. There might be a calling failure. I searched about your temp folder name and the temp file name and seems like it is not a system
file and it is called by some third party software.
Try following steps to resolve your issue
Please perform a clean boot and see if the issue still persist.
Check the other contents in ScrC777.temp folder see if you could identify the software.(seems like some Security Software or Anti-Spyware)
Uninstall it and delete the temp folder see what happens.

Error loading C;\users\Toshiba\appData\Local\SMBDP.dll

Can anyone help me?
After i start up i keep getting a message that says error loading C;\users\Toshiba\appData\Local\SMBDP.dll and then the module could not be found.
I have tried everything but cannot get rid of it,
i have asked for help online but it tells me to purchase a Tune-up utilities, but i already have Tune-up untilities and have run it through completely but it still does'nt work,
please help.

I don't believe this error message has anything to do with Toshiba applications you got preinstalled with your laptop so it is not easy to identify which application want to have access to this data.
Is anything else written in this error message?

Search for a particular user

I have configured LDAP authentication and mapped few LDAP user groups to BOXI. When an user group is added all the user will also be mapped to BOXI. For the users mapped the distinguished name is added as one of the alias.
The requirement is to search for a particular user in the BOXI using the distinguished name(DN), hence need to query on the alias name or ID. I tried the query something like but didn't worked.
SELECT * FROM CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND='User' AND SI_ALIASES.1.SI_NAME like '%DISTINGUISHED_NAME%'
IF the DN is like cn=userName,ou=users,ou=group1, dc=myorg, dc=com and the query is written as it works.
SELECT * FROM CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND='User' AND SI_ALIASES like '%userName%'
Could you help in writing a query on the user alias.

Dear all,
If my server is enabled for the remote desktop connection, then the users on the local network can access my server IIS services by entering the IP address of my server in the IE (http/https) on the local network only.
I went to control panel>>system>>Allow Remote desktop Connection>>with network level authentication.
Now If my team wants to access this server not by opening the Remote Desktop Connection, rather by entering the IP address of my server on the IE and access the resources offered.
Is it possible by this way,
Or is there any other method to do so.

3. My web Developer is installing an application on the server for our department team. To test this application running, he wants to access this application through the local machine from browser (rather than logging in through the remote desktop connection).

5. He wants me to do some setup, that he must be able to enter the IP address of the server in the browsers address bar on his local machine and test the functionality of his application on the local network.
If this is the requirements of the developer, I guess he wants you to configure IIS.
You can do a test, whether IIS is working properly.
Log on to server, enter https://localhost or http://IP_address_of_the_server don't know whether some ports are configured in order for your IIS to work.

Role not appearing in TLN for a particular user in portal

Hello All,
We are working on Federated Portal Network. We are facing problem where a user is not able to view a particular role assigned to him in Top Level Navigation in consumer portal. There are many users assigned to the same role and for them its visible. This problem is arising for this particular user only.
Steps we took to resolve the issue are:
1)Unassigned and then again reassigned the role to the user.
2)Cleared the consumer cache.
3)User tried to login from another machine but still found the same issue, so local machine settings are ruled out.
Suggest some solution.

One particular user can't send to outside domains. "Relay access denied"

I'm having a problem whereby one particular user of a mail domain I'm hosting can't send to external addresses. She can send to internal addresses, and other users can send to external addresses, but when she tries to send to an external address, this is what appears in the postfix log:

If others can send then most likely the mail client is not authenticating properly. Either it is trying to use a non supported authentication method or simply a wrong password.

Central Authentication / Local Switching for Mesh?

Hi all,
I'm afraid I know the answer but maybe I'm just missing something. Anyway, here's the situation: I have a multi-site installation with a centralized WLC (currently 2504). Each wireless VLAN at each site uses the same ID but has a local network (e.g. site 2 is 192.168.2.0/24, site 3 is 192.168.3.0/24 but both are VLAN 100).
When I configure APs for H-REAP/FlexConnect, there's no problem. Users are authenticated via a centralized RADIUS server (Cisco SecureACS 5.x) and I have local switching enabled so clients pick up an address from a localized DHCP server (ASA firewall in most cases).
However, the impetus for installing the WLC requires a mesh network, consisting of 2 RAPs and 2 MAPs. My catch 22 is now this: if a RAP is in FlexConnect mode, the MAP won't associate, but if the RAP is in RAP mode, the MAP associates, but clients don't appear to get IP addresses (on an iPhone for example, the wheel just keeps spinning until it gives up).
It's my understanding that since the APs are no longer in FlexConnect mode, all the wireless traffic is now being tunneled back through the centralized WLC which associates the VLANs with networks that don't exist on site.
Is my understanding correct? If so, is there any way I can go about achieving what I want to do which is get the FlexConnect effect but still have Mesh capabilities? Right now it seems the obvious (albeit very expensive answer) is to decentralize the WLC and have HA WLC configured on a per site basis.
Any input/advice greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I second your thought about mesh and as for what to do - I don't think you can do anything. Perhaps, a cheap way to solve this problem can be installing a local 2504 at sites that require mesh links. This will allow you terminating all VLAN/SSID mappings locally. Sorry :-(

This message will appear if either the background jobs are not scheduled, or UWL cannot tell that the background jobs are scheduled. The message no longer appears once you ensure the background jobs are scheduled to run via the user id UWL_SERVICE and that user is mapped to my portal user ID UWL_SERVICE.

Unable to see a column of a table in portal for a particular User

Hi,
A particular user is unable to see a particular column of a table in the portal . The application is developed in Webdynpro ABAP. The table contains two columns. Both the columns contain text type fields. What appears to the user is that the left column has disappeared and the right hand column has shifted to the left.
This is occuring for a particular user only. We have checked in our development and quality systems but we are unable to replicate the issue. Please help.

You can use BAPI in LSMW to craete Material or You can use direct input method. Both methods as follows below:
Using BAPI in LSMW:
First maintain IDOC Inbound Processing steps by giving PORT and Partner Type and Partner Numberby clicking 'settings' icon in menu path in LSMW Screen.
Adn then execute LSMW and maintain the values as below in the first step.

C:\users\owwner\AppData\local\apple\applesoftwareupdate\itunes64.msi can not be found

itunes on my boys computer got corrupt. I believe it was when I tried updating. Anyhow, I have downloaded teh current itunes file from apple and when I install it a window comes up that says it can not find C;\users\owner\appdata\local\apple\applesoftwareupdate\itunes64.msi
I have done a search all over the computer and that file does not exist. I tried repairing itunes in control panel and it comes up with the same message. I tried deleting itunes in control panel and the same thing.
I tried deleting all files that contained itunes or apple in my compter because I thought there might be some hidden file that was saying there was an older version still installed and keeping if from installing right.
Any ideas how to get itunes back on this computer? It will not load.

(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
