Identifying a change in customer record
Hi All
Is there a way to Identify that a change was made (one or more) in customer record ?
I know there are lots of different ways to change a customer record
and probably a lot of User Exit that gets fired up.
However I'm looking for a way to get an indication that a change has occured for all of the different possibilities.
Thanks
Ziv.

I already know of the tables. They help a lot but it's not enough for my specific requirenments.
And what are those specific requirements? BTW the answer from Hans covers all requirements (except the direct table changes, but those are another story...).

are recorded in the system and where?
is it relevant to customization?

Report on Change in Condition Record effects which all Sales Orders
Hello Gurus,
Thanks in advance. My customer requires a report which gives him list of Sales Orders effected due to Change in Condition Record.
Proper input to this will be greatly rewarded.
Regards,
Vishvesh Kamdarhi,
whenever u change the condition record it will fall under the validility date, ie.,
<b>example:</b>
Condition record for cond type PR00 is
<b>valid from 01/05/2007 to 31/99/9999 is Rs.1000</b>
but suddenly when u change prices on 01/10/2007 then system will display has below
<b>vaild from 01/05/2007 to 31/09/2007 is Rs.1000
vaild from 01/10/2007 to 31/99/999 is Rs.1500</b>
hence u take all the sale orders & billing document which are created from 01/10/2007, this will slove ur purpose

Mass Maintenance will recognize any customer record in workflow process
Hi gurus,
Please help me on the Workflow process, how to handle below workflow scenario, is there any logic be hand this.
please see in BOLD workflow issue.
1.2 As-Is Business Process
Currently Data Maintenance teams use standard SAP transaction XD07 to change Customer Account Groups. The standard transaction XD07 allows only one Customer Account Group to be changed at a time. The process is to be manually repeated for every customer. After the Account Group is changes in the request client (X07(10)), an RFC call is made to the BOR client (X07(20)) and then to the transaction client (X08(10)) to change the Customer Account Group as the SAP ALE process does not support Account Group Changesu2026
1.3 To-Be Business Process
From time to time, bulk customer data updates will be needed. This can be the result of business situations that cause multiple updates to be performed for given customer fields such as Customer Account Group field. A new program must be developed to let the user mass update the Customer Account Group field (KNA1-KTOKD). The Program should be accessed on demand using a new T.Code (YMDM_ACCTGRP_CHG).
Business users will submit a spreadsheet in the appropriate upload format to CDM along with written approval from the Food Service data owner to execute the upload in P07. CDM will execute the upload, record all documentation for the audit change log and notify the submitter when complete
1.4 To-Be Business Process Flow Diagram
1.5 Enhancement Functionality
The following are the requirements:
u2022 This tool will enable a user to perform bulk update to the customer account group field.
u2022 The utility should let the user upload a u201CTab delimitedu201D file to mass update the Account Group field.
u2022 The Load File will have 3 columns, Customer Number (KNA1-KUNNR), Current Account Group (KNA1-KTOKD) and New Account Group (KNA1-KTOKD).
u2022 The Program must utilize the process behind the standard SAP transaction XD07 to change customer Account Groups in X07(10).
u2022 The standard customer ALE (DEBMAS) process does not support Customer Account Group changes, so the mass change program must use the RFC functionality to change he Account Groups in the BOR (X07(20)) and Transaction system (X08(10)).
u2022 Workflows for all updates performed using this T.Code are automatically approved. No manual approval steps will be needed after data load.
u2022 Mass Maintenance will recognize any customer record that has an open workflow. If a customer record is already in the request queue, it is u201Coff limitsu201D for any bulk update. That update request to that particular customer record must be rejected.
u2022 Provide the option to run the process in validation mode and update mode.
u2022 Report all hard and soft legacy field errors on a validation report. All u201Chardu201D legacy field validations should be passed before allowing update mode to run.
u2022 The upload process will produce an error log for all records not loaded into the system.see newer message. Problem appears to be related to gmail

How to identify if a user master record is locked
Hi,
I want to use function module BAPI_USER_CHANGE to change a user's master record (transaction SU01). But if the user that I want to change is being modified by another user, this BAPI doesn't update, correctly so. Is there a way to identify if a user master record is being edited by someone else? This way, I can find out before making the change whether the change will be successful.
Along the same lines, if I'm adding a role (from transaction PFCG) to a user ID and role is locked, I'd like to know that before hand; before I try to assign a user to that role programmatically.
Thank you for your help.
PeteHi
Refer this Lock Owners
Definition
Person who holds a lock.
Use
At the start of an SAP transaction, two owners are always created who can request locks.
A lock can have one or two owners. You use the _SCOPE parameter to specify this.
To determine in a program which user is currently holding a lock, use the ENQUEUE_ function module. This function module puts the name of the owner into SY-MSGV1.
Structure
There are dialog owners and update owners.
An owner is identified by his or her owner ID, as described in the section entitled The Lock Table.
A lock can have one or two owners. The ABAP programmer uses the _SCOPE parameter to define this (see below).
Example
The graphic below shows how lock owners function during a dialog transaction.
SAP LUW: Dialog Transaction with Update
At the start of the dialog transaction, the system creates two lock owners: the dialog owner Owner_1 and the update owner Owner_2.
During the course of the transaction, Owner_1 requests a lock, as does Owner_2 slightly later. When the update task is called (see also Functions of the Update Task), the lock and Owner_2 are inherited by the update task. An update work process is started with two owners, in the same way as a dialog work process, and then has three owners until the update is completed. All of the locks are released with an implicit DEQUEUE_ALL at the end of the update, at the latest.

Save Custom Recording options as a set?
I thought from reading about the features in Captivate 2 that
I could save my own sets of custom recording options. Every time I
change files, I have to set up my custom recording options again.
It would save me time if I could save these as custom sets and be
able to choose them in the Record dialog. Is this possible?
Thanks,
AaronWell, obviously there is not an option in the recording
dialog. I was kinda hoping there might be an XML or INI file in the
program folder I could modify to add some custom recording sets. I
dug around in the folder but it doesn't look like this is possible.
I went ahead and submitted a feature request.
Thanks,

Address change in customer master
Hi Experts,
I have cretaed sales order and processed it with one customer.Created Delivery and posted goods issue.
After that I have changed the address of the customer and noticed that the adress is changed in the processed order also.
I would to like to know what is base intension of this.
Please help me out
Thank you
Regards,
Nagi ReddyDear Nagi,
All Customer Address are stored in a central table - ADRC.
Infact this ADRC is the Master Table of all addresses in system (It is used for addresses of Customer, Vendors, other Business Partner, etc)
So any change you make in Customer Master Record in XD02 / VD02 it would change the entry in the ADRC & would show this effect in all the past documents also (like Sales Orders / Deliveries, etc).
This is SAP standard & you cannot change it.
Address details are only exception here. Rest all other data like payment terms, Condition record data are document specific. Meaning once the Document is created & saved any change in the Master Record would not impact the aleready processed documents.
Alternatively you can change the Customer Address while processing Sales Order:
VA02 - Double Click on Customer code & you will go to Header - partner screen.
Here once again click on required Partner code & you will go to Address screen. Here you can change the address (which is proposed from Customer Master record). This address change in Sales Order would be applicable only for the particular Sales Order & its subsequent documents. The Master Record would not be changed.
Hope this helps...
Thanks,

Not allowing block or delete of Customer record via tcode VD02/XD02
Hi All,
I want to check on the process of NOT allowing block or delete of a customer record thru tcode VD02/XD02. From a business point, we would like to only use VD05/XD05 to block a customer record and VD06 to mark for deletion. This will allow users to create/change the record using VD02/XD02 and different set of users to have control block/delete.
Any inputs are appreciated. Thanks.
NarenHi,
You will have to discuss this with your Basis team and check if there is any authorization object for that particular functionality in the Transaction.
As far as i know i dont think it is possible, you can only restrict the users from using particular transactions but not from using a particular functinality in a transaction.
The best option is to assign alll the Master Data related responsibility to a limited and resposible group of users or discuss with your technical team if they can do some restricting. -

Deleting a potential customer record from SAP
Hello
Does anyone know how to delete a potential customer that has been created in SAP. As once you have created it, if you dont transfer it into a proper customer record, then the potential customer record will sit there is SAP. This then takes up space. So I wanted to know whether there is a way deleting the potential record.
Thanks
BindiHello
A potential customer is one that has been created and their account group is set to 'Potential Customer'. This means at this stage that no transaction can be carried out against the customer as they have not been transfer into a proper customer account. A credit check, etc is then carried out on the customer, and if successful then customers account group is changed from 'Potential Customer' to 'Sold to Party' for example. However if the record is not transfered and is still in the system as a Potential Customer then we need to be able to remove these.
Is there way to delete these. I tried the above methods however was not successful.

Who has changed the Custom Field value?
Dears,
Need to know the information regarding how to fetch that who has changed the Custom field value from PWA/MPP.
Example:
There is a PDP (say ProjectInfo):
There is a Custom Field added to that PDP (say Project Status = In Progress).
Now for ProjectA, someone has checked out and changed the Custom Field "Project Status" from "In Progress" to "Closed".
I need to fetch the information regarding who has changed that Custom field.
In which direction should I move: Event Handlers, PSI???? Any other stuff?
Thanks & Regards,
ShravanHi Shravan,
I'm not a developer but I do know that you can use an event handler pushing the resource name and date in custom fields.
Another way is to use a 3rd-party tool like
FluentPro Audit Tool.
Hope this helps,

Problem with iChat changing my custom away message after 30 minutes
Lately, I've been having a big problem with iChat changing any custom away message that I put up to "Away" after 30 minutes or so. Is there anything I can do to make it stop? Another issue I'm having is that sometimes when people on my buddy list change their away message, it doesn't show up on iChat unless I go offline and then sign back on. Any idea why it's doing that, and what I can do to get it to stop?
Thanks.

G3 iMac Mac OS X (10.3.9)Hi ienjoyanime,

Does it say you are set to Go to Away when you log off/QUit iChat ?
is the computer going to Sleep at this point ?

Address Change in Customer/Vendor Master upon creation or change Master
Hi Expert,
We need to change some Address fields( *ADR6-SMTP_ADDR , ADRC-DEFLT_COMM, KNA1-TELTX, KNA1-TELX1*) in Customer Master based on some condition while creation/change the Master Data. I need to do same fields in Vendor Master as well.
I tried all the Possible exit Here.
If you know a Proper exit /BADI or one possible solution to solve my problem?
If anyone can provide any BAPI name which is used to Modify any customer/Vendor address will be very much helpful as well.
Thanks in Advance for your help.
Suman AdhikariHi Kesav,
For customer BAPI_"CUSTOMER_CHANGEFROMDATA" and "BAPI_CUSTOMER_CHANGEFROMDATA1" both Sales Organization is a required filed. Here we need to change some fileds(standard communication filed , Customer Email address, and Telex No) based on telex filed of customer for Customer irrespective of Sales Organization or any other constraints. The same requirement is for Vendor as well. If there is any proper exit/badi where KNA1 and address structure ADRC,ADR6 etc are available that will we good.
I just need to modify some address fields for customer as well as vendor. If there is any BAPI for change address(customer/Vendor) then that will also be helpful.
