Identifying attributes in multiprovider from different cubes?

I have added 2 infocubes and 1 infoobject (masterdata) into my multiprovider, but fields i need in my report are attributes of infoobject.All the fields are getting displayed in query output except these attributes.
Please provide me the reason..
BTW: I have declared them as navigation attributes in my infoobject and checked for navigation in multiprovider,

For those particular attributes, have you done the mapping correctly? Also check this Addind a cube and infoobject in the multiprovider
Also check the design of your MP. Can you see these values in listcube transaction?

Query: Displaying elements from different cubes using a Multiprovider

Hi Experts,
I am trying to report from 2 cubes joining via a multiprovider. For this case the let's focus on only one dimension as below.
Cube 1
Dimension 1 - A1, A2, A3, A4, A5
Key Figures - K1, K2
Cube 2
Dimension 1 - A1, B1, B2, B3, B4
Key Figures - K1, K3, K4, K5
The only common characteristic and key figure that I have is A1 and K1. Most of the KFs are reported from Cube 2. Whenever i try to query this, I will get A2-A5 showing value 'unassigned'.
It worked fine if the no KF are dragged into the rows/columns. I have also explored the constant selection and this doesn't work.
Is there a method that I can actually report on this apart from using a Infoset?

Rightclclick on Charecteristics>Restrict>Select Not Asssigned in Right Panel>Make it Exclusive>Click on OK

Linking different measures from different cubes on to same report ,

I have a report which is targetting CUBE_1 retrieving dimensions A,B,C and Measures X,Y,Z . Now i also want to retrieve some more measures from a different Cube CUBE_2 which is still has same dimensions onto same report .
I do not want to use a SubReport here .I dont want to use LooKUp's() too ..
Can you please advise with some pointers how can we achieve this using MDX ? Thanks in advance !

According to your description, what you want it that retrieving dimensions A,B,C and Measures X,Y,Z from Multiple CUBE1 and CUBE2 in an MDX query.
The short answer is yes. To query multiple cubes from a single MDX statement use the LOOKUPCUBE function (you can't specify multiple cubes in your FROM statement). The LOOKUPCUBE function will only work on cubes that utilize the same source database as the

How to display all available data for KFs from different Cubes

Hi,
I am using a MultiProvider that consists of two InfoCubes. KF1 uses Cube1, KF2 uses Cube2 - characteristic Country exists in both cubes. I have the following data:
KF1 - Country 1: 5
KF1 - Country 3: 8
KF1 - Country 4: 10
KF2 - Coutnry 1: 9
KF2 - Country 2: 7
KF2 - Country 5: 3
I have a query that uses Country as a drilldown characteristic (ROWS) and displays the values of KF1 and KF2 (COLUMNS) for each Country. However, instead of seeing data for Countries 1-5 I only see data where I have results for KF1 (Countries 1,3 and 4). The value for Country 1 for KF2 shows up correctly in the corresponding row, but Countries 2+5 aren't displayed for KF2. If I change the Access Type for Result Values from "Posted Values" to "Master Data" I get the correct result. However this is not feasible in the final setting due to the amount of data that has to be handled (MasterData setting will lead to crashes of the query due to maximum number of cells exceeded).
Are there any other options to force the query to display values for all characteristic values where I have data for any KF?

As it turned out the issue was due to 2 restrictions on KPI2:
1) Restriction to InfoProvider "Cube 2"
2) Constant selection on two characteristics that have filters on a global level but which should not affect the display of the data for KF2
Removing (1)+(2) provided the desired result.

Lookup in tranformation from different Cube.

I need to take look up for getting additional data from Cube into the transformation.
I know it look up is done from ODS and Master data and have already done it.
But I want to confirm that same thing is possible to get look up from Cube. If anybody has done it, can someone respond to below questions
1. Is it feasible and advisible.
2. If it possible then what precaution needs to be taken.

Yes, It is feasible to Cube. But you should careful in selecting the from which table do you want to read 1) either E or F fact tabl i.e. before compression or after compression.
2) While reading the data ensure that the Indexes were already created.

Summarizing KPIs from multiple cubes

Hi there,
This might be a noob question but here it goes. I have cube files with data for different entities. Then there is an Excel file for each of these cubes using it as its data source to display a number of KPIs which look like this:
Invoices with Discount
20,2 %
Late Payments
30,2 %
and so on.. The Excel files show the same X number of KPIs which can be directly compared. For example, I might want to compare an industry average on the
Late Payments percentage. What would be the best way to do it?
Is this something like the Power View as suggested
here?

According to your description, you want to summarize KPI from different cubes together. Right?
In Analysis Services, it's not supported to directly summarize KPI data from multiple cubes. In this scenario, I suggest you retrieve the data from different cubes, then create calculated members for KPI. Please refer to links below:

Data from one cube is not coming in the multiprovider

Hi,
I have two cubes with a common characterstic.
I created multiprovider above these two cubes. But data is not coming from the cube 2. The values from cube 2 are showing as 0.
Can anyone help me out in this?

1 Check whether you have made the joins properly.
2 Check data at multiprovider level .

MultiProvider Created from #.5 cube and 7.0 Cube

I have one global cube created with update rules and transfer rules and everything, the way we create in BW 3.5 (Delivery)
I have another newly created cube using BI 7.0 (History Delivery data) with Transformation and the DTP.
I have created one Multiprovider combining this 2 cube. The 1st cube contains all the data for Delivery with Material, Plant, 0MAT_PLANT and Delivery quantity and dates and other things as per the requirement. This is a cube to be used going forward.
The 2nd cube contains only Delivery data from legacy system loaded in to this History cube from Flat file. This cube only has 0Material, 0Plant, 0MAT_plant, Delivery Qunatity and the requested date.
Now the Multiprovider has common chars and KFs from these 2 cubes.
When I run the query on this MultoProvider to see results of past 12 months (Requested Date) excluding current month with quantity. I get only the results from the 1st cube. I have created test query on both the cubes individually and I get results on both those queries but when it comes to MP it just gives from the 1st cube which is created in BW 3,5.
Now My questions are
1) Does it make any difference for MP if one of the cube is in 3,5 and other in 7.0 ??
2) If No then what else could be the problem. I have checked the Data both of them look identicle and correct as far as I think unless I have made some basic error??
Please help. Will provide points.

If you wish to see the data in the query that is stored in a particulat cube that form part of the multi, then you could.
Was I creating query the wrong way? I want to know the reason, It did work but I want to know the logic though.
No. it is wrong. But, if the query does not read data from more than one cube, but if you create it to run from multi cubes, then query response time may suffer.

Reading aggregated data from a cube/multiprovider

My project is currently looking for a functionmodule that reads aggregated data from a cube/multiprovider.
I already have a functionmodule that reads data from a cube and returns it in a flat format. I have debugged this, but have not found any flags that can enable the OLAP functionality needed to perform the aggregation. The functionmodule is "RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ_RFC".
The situation is that I need to apply the aggregation logic of a profit center hierrarchy to the data I read from RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ_RFC, this means manually replicating the the OLAP engine functionality (keyfigure aggregation exception, ect.) and this is not an option with the available time/budget.
Please have a look at the example below:
Say that I have a profit center hierarchy as displayed below (with postable nodes).
PC1 - $10
|---- PC2 - $30
|---- PC3 - $20
The data I'm getting back from the functionmodule RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ_RFC looks like this:
PC1 $10
PC2 $30
PC3 $20
But I need the data aggregated. An aggregation utilizing the hierarchy above will make the data look like this:
PC1 $60
PC2 $30
PC3 $20
Instead of building an aggregation program, it would be usefull if it was possible to extract aggregated data.
Any comments appreciated.

The problem is that I need a functionmodule that can apply the OLAP aggregation for a hierarchy to the data outpu from RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ_RFC.
... or the best alternative would be if there were a fm/class that could provide me with the hierarchy aggregation of the data.

I need to obtain the value of the attribute in a fox function. Let me explain it further.
Background :
Planning area -
Charac----

Cost Element has an attribute "Type"
Value for attribute "Type" = 1,2,3
Based on the value of the attribute, the corresponding KF needs to be multiplied.
Logic :
If type = 1.
AmountVR = Amount * KF1.
elseif type = 2.
AmountVR = Amount * KF2.
elseif type = 3.
AmountVR = Amount * KF3.
endif.
The problem I'm facing is that I'm not able to read the data of attribute "Type". None of the below statement retrieve the value of the "Type".

or

How to calculate and save planning data in bex input-ready query using keyfigures for calculation from different infoproviders

We have two real time infocubes and two aggregation levels based on these cubes in one multiprovider
first cube1 is like
char1| char2| keyfig_coefficient(single value for each combination of char1 and char2)
same aggregation level1
(we have input query to fill coefficients by one responsible user)
second cube2 is like
char1| char2| keyfig_quantity| keyfig_result
same aggregation level2
Input ready query should be like (for all other users of different org units)
char1|char2|keyfig_coeff| keyfig_quant(for input) | keyfig_result = keyfig_coeff*keyfig_quant(calculated value, should be saved to cube2)
And we don't have pregenerated lines in cube2, users have to add new lines themselves by wad.
Question is, what is the optimal (easiest) way to make calculation and save result data to cube2 where keyfigures for calculation should be used from different infoproviders. I need just a hint.

Data from two cubes to display in same grid - Actual/planned comparison

I want to show planned and actual data in the same grid. For example,
qty-2011001 qty-2011002 qty-2011012
actual plan actual plan actual plan
Here quantity is shown for fiscal year periods. For each fiscal year period actual and planned quantity should be shown in adjacent columns in bex analyzer. But in my model actual and planned data are in two different cubes. So how can I show in the same grid.
I thought of creating a multiprovider or infoset and by combining them we can pull data from both of them to show in the same grid. But it resulted in errors.
I was wondering if there are any interesting workaround for this.

Hi,
this is a standard requirement and very easy to model. To key figures (actual and plan) are not need.
1. Create a cube for actuals A and one for plan data P. Both contain the same key figure.
2. Create a multiprovider with both cubes and use the default mapping for key figures and characteristics
3. Create an aggregation level on top of the multiprovider with the characteristics and key figures you need
4. Create a query with two restricted key figures, e.g.
Quan actual: restrict by 0INFOPROV = A
Quan plan: restrict by 0INFOPROV = P, make this element input-ready.
Drill-down 0FISCPER on columns.
Thats all.

First you wont get any scenario where you have to store the same data in different cubes. There is no point of storing same data in multiple cubes(Wasting DB space) . The one to many scenario could be applied as USERPV said, you have data from a single source system which contains multiple country sales info. Now you want to divide this data based on countries and store in respective cubes, you have to write ABAP code in transfer rule to do this. You can report individual cubes or you can report on all cubes once using multiprovider.
Hope this will clear your doubt.
