Identifying channels on cFP AO 200

I have a cFP 1808 controller that I am configuring for a heat exchanger application. All the input and outputs are 4-20 mA current signals. I have added cFP AI 200 for receiving current signals from the heat exchanger unit and cFP AO 200 for sending current signals to the i/p (current to pneumatic) converter devices. I have 3 outputs, so I need to use 3 channels out of the available 8 channels of output in the AO 200. However, I am not able to understand, what constitutes channel 0 or 1 or 2 for that matter. Is the channel number decided by how I wire the outputs to the AO 200, i.e does each terminal 1-32 on the connector block have a channel assigned to it? 
In other words, if I want to send out a signal to i/p device 1, using FP write in LabVIEW, what channel should I use? How do I decide if it is one channel or the other?

Thanks Wayne. I intend to send out a 4-20 mA range current signal through the AO 200. So if I were to select channel 1 and use terminals 4 and 19 would that work? Do the terminals have to be different if the output were voltage instead of current?

    If you are reading a multiple channel tag and one or more channels is(are) in an Open Loop condition, then you will receive a warning from the FP Read or FP Write. However, this warning simply tells you that one or more channels has reported an Open Loop condition. If you need to figure out which channel is specifically reporting the Open Loop condition, you have to read/write each channel individually to get the channel status for a particular channel.

    cFP-AO-200 only puts out max current level 4.3mA using fieldpoint explorer. The load is 350 ohms resistor.

    What is the voltage level of the external power supply you are using? The FP-AO-200 and cFP-AO-200 output load drive capability is based upon the voltage of the external supply that you are using. They each have an internal 3 volt drop. You can use V=I*R to determine the load drive capability. For example, with a 5 volt external supply, you have the 3 volt drop, so 2 Volts/ 21 mA = 95 Ohm load maximum. With a 24 V supply, you can drive the maximum rated load of 1000 Ohms. For a 350 Ohm load, you will need a minimum of a 10.5 Volt supply.

    Hi Fred,
    The answer to both questions is yes. In MAX, in the Channel Configuration Tab of your cFP-AI-100, you can specify your range to be one of a number of settings for current or voltage. To configure separate channels, simply select the channel and then select the range. See the attached screenshot for more details.

  • CFP-AO-200 Analog output module (Error -33180) !!

    Hello everyone
    I'm using the cFP 1808 Bank along with other input modules like AI-111 and AI-110 ,I recently bought a AO-200 Module to output currents in the range from 4-20 mA ,I connected the module to the bank and updated the device from the MAX Software ,then I opened the Getting Started/Analog Output.vi from the examples in the Labview 2011 in order to test the card ,the VI returns an error with the code -33180 to me ,I don't know what's wrong ,but i tested the card with the MAX and wrote values to it successfully.
    Can anybody tell me what's wrong with my VI

    The range of the channels is not going to change after you configure the task. However, you can programmatically set the range with the Configure Range.VI. This is located in Measurement I/O >> FieldPoint >> Advanced >> Ethernet Advanced. I hope that you find this information helpful.

  • Do cFP modules have to be in place when the unit is initialized?

    Running:
    cFP-1804 backplane over serial connection to Mac OSX via a keyspan USA28X, using a legacy VI that has (up until now) been used with legacy FP system (FP-1000, etc), also serial.
    cFP-AI-110 measuring 1 - 10 V at 1 input
    cFP-DO-400 sourcing 24 V to four channels out
    cFP-AO-200 sourcing 4 - 20 mA to 1 output
    The modules are in this order on the backplane, with the farthest slot from the head being empty
    After tracking down a Windows box to use MAX to initialize the unit, I connected the unit to the Macintosh that is running the VI to find that only the DO and AO modules function as expected.  I measure a voltage between pins 1 and 18 (COM) with a voltmeter, but no such measurement appears on the front panel of the software.
    Interestingly; I tried moving all of the modules over one space to see if the position on the backplane mattered, and lo! the control that is supposed to actuate output 0 on the AO card actually punched on the DO output. But still no voltage measurement.
    So, the question: If modules are connected to the cFP-1804 when it is initialized, or the firmware is flashed, does this mean that the units are no longer interchangable?  Would re-initializing the unit with no cards inserted allow none to be recognized?
    Also, I have noticed that it takes a particularly long time for the system to come on line once the VI is started (10-15 seconds).  Could this be related?

  • Apogee Rosetta 200 ADAT multi channel input?

    I'm using an apogee rosetta 200 on a symphony system with a G5 running logic pro. I picked up a presonus digimax D8 thinking could use the ADAT output and send 8 channels digitally into the rosetta. I know that's exactly what the rosetta 800 is built for but why, if the ADAT optical standard is 8 channels, wouldn't it see the 8 channels? Maybe it does and I'm doing something wrong. Most likely I'm trying to make the 200 into an 800 for only $300 extra....which sounds ridiculous now that i'm typing it out. anyone ever had any luck jamming 8 digital channels into a rosetta 200?

    This "something happened" is probably NOT the Apogee.
    Take a look at your signal before the Apogee... there might be "something" that went south there. Mic pad on? Mic / Line switch on your channel is where? Phantom power on? Off?
    Especially since you mention the settings... are they exactly the same as before?

    I am trying to read a tdms file into DIadem through data Navigation.This conatins 12 columns of data.But when it is loaded it creates large number of channels with lengths (arb~200).I tried to create the data pluggin but the small windows are showing unidetified symbols.Is this due to any setting is not set properly

    I assume that the file contains a lot more columns/channels than you thought.
    This might habben because you created a new groups every time you wrote a new chunk
    instead of appending to an existing one
    group1.mychannel
    group2.mychannel
    will result in two channels.
    Could you make sure your write code does append instead of create.

  • FEX-2232 FCoE Port channel limitation

    Hi all,
    i havea single FEX 2232 single homed to nexus 5020 via port-channel. at the FEX 2232, i connected a server which have 2 X CNA and running two vlans: vlan 200 for ethernet and vlan 300 for FCoE.
    i connected the server to the single fex via port-channel and allowed vlan 200 & 300. at the N5K i bounded single vfc interface to this port-channel.
    when i am issuing the show flogi database i see only single PWWN.
    as i understand, a single vfc interface can only see single PWWN, is this correct ?
    if it does, how can i have my setup running in a way that ethernet traffic  will used port-channel and for fcoe traffic i will see two PWWN ?

    It is not necessary to create another FCoE Vlan if the logins are coming on the same n5k. If there is a requirement for multiple fcoe logins on the same n5k, then it will need to be single link port channels instead of multiple links in the port channel. That way we acquire the ability to bind each physical port via port-channel into a separate vfc. In your case ideally you can have two n5ks with two n2232s single homed to each n5k and the server dual homed with 1 port each connected to two separate 2232s in active-active teaming. That way you can bind the physical interfaces into single virtual port channel on the respective n5ks. at that point, you can separate the san traffic into different vsan/vlan and make sure you dont trunk the fcoe vlan over the vpc peer link.

    Based on what you've posted, your computer does not have the right tuner.   You need a QAM tuner to record locals from FiOS, or a CableCard tuner to record all local and cable channels from FiOS.

  • WebLogic 10.3.2 console hangs when attempting configuration changes

    Windows XP x86 64bit
    JRockit JVM 1.6.0
    I have done a fresh install (twice) and whenever I start the main admin console and try to create a new server or deployment it just sits there and hangs. There are no other servers setup just the defualt AdminServer in development mode. The only other variable is that I have versions 9.2 & 10.3.0 of WL installed - in seperate home locations however so they should not conflict.

  • Weblogic 10.3.2. application launch delayed by approximately 60 seconds

    Hi,
    The application was developed using Flex 2, java, hibernate and spring framework(ver. 2.0.3). It works fine in the oracle Application server oc4j based container.
    When deployed this application in weblogic 10.3.2, after entering the username and password, the first page is delayed by approximately 60/70 seconds. The full log file shows this time is consumed by HttpSessionContextIntegrationFilter. As you can see below in the log, the processing for this class stats at 10:46:23 and then it moves on to the next processing at 10:47:26. Please let me know, how I could resolve/troubleshoot this issue.

    it seems that you try to deploy your application but it's taking a very long time that exceeds the timeout.
    Are you deploying your application from Eclipse (oepe) or from the admin console ?

  • How do I get Sync to work with my new iPhone?  Sync stops at step 2 of 5 steps.

    I have a new  iPhone and am trying to sync the music I downloaded from the cloud on my phone with iTunes on my PC. After clicking on sync on my computer the status bar stops on step 2 of 5 steps.  I have checked to make sure my computer is authorized in iTunes. 

    Based on what you've posted, your computer does not have the right tuner.   You need a QAM tuner to record locals from FiOS, or a CableCard tuner to record all local and cable channels from FiOS.
    QAM tuners to record local channels only
    This requires Windows Vista or Windows 7

    SiliconDust HDHomeRun (info on a sale)
    CableCard tuner to record local and cable channels
    This requires Windows 7 + one CableCard from Verizon for $3.99/mo

    Ceton MOCUR tuner (records four channels at a time) -- coming in early 2010 for $400-$600
    Make sure your computer has Windows 7 Home Premium (or better) installed.   That's necessary to support CableCard tuners.

    I burned AVI movie files onto DVD-R discs with a windows machine, and when I insert them into my Macbook, they show up as blank cds or dvds. How can I get my Macbook to show the files? They show up just fine on a windows machine in Windows Explorer.
