Identifying emac with refurbished serial #

Hi all,
I bought a used emac from a craigslister in here in seattle. I tried to look up its specs by serial # but it's refurbished or remanufactured and I cannot find a reference site for it. The number is:

Any insight would be helpful. I have already fallen into my first pitfall: I assumed that the manual I downloaded actually referred to my model and I bought an Airport Extreme card off fleabay. Lo and behold when I went to install it the slot is all wrong and it looks to me like it actually takes an original airport card (two rows of pins like a pcmcia slot, right?).
Anybody want to swap?

Thanks for the quick answers! Are the original Airport cards limited to 802.11b speeds? Also I tried to research usb wifi adapters before deciding to buy the Airport Extreme card and it looked like they were all kind of dicey: requiring complex looking (to me!) software hacks etc. And only certain versions (chipsets) of certain adapters would work. Is this also true of the ethernet bridges? Are there certain ones that are supported "officially?"
Also: I could only find manuals online for emacs which take the extreme card here: http://www.apple.com/support/manuals/emac/
I assume mine is different. Does anyone know if there's an online/downloadable manual for my model? It is 800 mhz BTW.

Is it secure then, to identify the clients by their serial number certificate and let ssl do the rest of the job ?

In fact I wanted to be sure that the certificate footprint is veryfied in every ssl handshake, and that the serial number is part of the hash.
It seemed to me obvious but I realised, for instance, that the validity date of the certificate is not checked automatically during ssl handshake, do you think it is a normal behavior ?

I have two different emacs with two slightly different problems

I just recently got three emacs in used condition. One works perfectly (I'm typing from it right now), but the other two are giving me problems, and I'm not sure what could be causing the problems.
The first one takes a long time to load into Mac OS X 10.4, and when it does, it doesn't seem to recognize any of my usb devices.
The second one usually freezes at a blue screen, but sometimes, it will get to the desktop, which is possibly frozen as well, because my usb keyboard and mouse do not work on this one as well.
What can I narrow these problems down to?

The first step with used eMacs that act out is to see if they fall in a range of machines that had a near-fatal logic board defect. This affects 1.0G and 1.25Ghz eMacs with USB 2.0 logic boards. The easiest way to check is to see if the computers' serial numbers fall in any of these ranges:
G8412xxxxxx- G8520xxxxxx
YM412xxxxxx - YM520xxxxxx
VM440xxxxxx - VM516xxxxxx
If so, there is little an individual can do to correct the problem as it requires a new logic board or, at least, skill in removing and replacing small logic board components.
The number can be found inside the optical bay door:
NOTE: If the computer is an Apple refurbished unit, the serial number will start with "R" or "RM" and the above number ranges cannot be used to to identify a potentially defective logic board.
If you live on the West Coast of the United States, there is a shop in Eugene, OR, that used to offered an affordable LB repair that corrects the issue, If you're not close to Oregon, the cost of shipping a 50-pound computer can double the cost of the repair.
So, basically, the first thing is to see if this condition exists before investing more time (or money).

Nobody can help you with that request because iCloud and "Find My iPod touch" do not work that way.
If you cannot see the iPod, you cannot track its serial number. Unless someone sees the serial number, nobody can track it.
Regardless of whether you have properly installed and enabled "Find My iPod touch", iCloud does not track your iPod's serial number. This is true even when you or someone else can see your iPod's serial number.
Regardless of how much you wish iCloud could track your iPod's serial number, it cannot.
"Find My iPod touch" can sometimes track an iPod's location but only under the specific circumstances Limnos has already explained to you.
If "Find My iPod touch" cannot locate your iPod by its location, there is no iCloud way to find it. In that case, the only way to identify your missing iPod is for you or someone else to physically look at it.
Perhaps you will be successful with one of these alternative possibilities for recovering your iPod:
• you can physically search and find your misplaced iPod
• someone may it returned in response to a reward that you offer
• the police may find it after you have reported it stolen

No. The SN will only help identify the iPod as yours if it is recovered.
- If you previously turned on the FIndMyiPod feature and location service is on, and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud, sign in, and go to FindMyiPhone. It the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- Report to police and change the passwords fro all accounts used on the iPod.
- Apple will not help

MBP with no serial number

I recently had my logic board replaced on my 2 yrs old MBP. I also had the bottom case replaced due to a dent (unrelated) and ever decreasing gap on the superdrive slot. The top case was also replaced due to a trackpad issue and defective sticky key.
On it's return from the local Apple Store, the memory showed defective and the apple store told it needing replacing but given it was a 3rd party upgrade (4Gb) it was not covered. I checked the memory and seated the 2 modules (both unseated) and all was well. I also noticed that all the lables in the battery bay were missing. Not too concerned but thought something may have been there - Bar code, MAC Address etc
Last night I was checking a few things and noticed that my serial number is now showing as "System Serial#" There's no number now. Should i be concerned that I have a MBP with no serial number?
All repairs were carried out at an Apple store in the UK, so genuine repairs, though you'd never guess it given the case fit and gaps

Hi,
Since you already have one copy activated the serial number must be logged in your account details - I would first check that the one logged and the one you are attempting to enter are the same.
You can check your account details by going to www.adobe.com and clicking on Manage Account. You need to sign in with your Adobe Id and then click on View All under Plans & Products. Next click on View your products and after a while it should produce your list.
If there is a problem with the serial number, only Adobe can help you there (we are just users). Please see the response in this thread

You are allowed to have two machines with activated installations, so if you only had one installation, you still have the option to install on a second without doing anything further than that. If you originally downloaded the purchase thru Adobe then you might find a download link available in your Adobe account online.
