Identifying types of reports

Hi
1.How to identify whether a webtemplate(3.x) is using static reports or dynamic reports?
2.Suppose if we have query technical name and we go to query designer and open the query,how do we notice if its a static report or dynamic report?

Thanks for your replies.
I am just asking to know if its static report or dynamic report by looking at query definition in Query designer.As I understand,if a query uses variables,as we can choose which data we would like to see,it becomes dynamic report.
If a query doesnot use variables and filters are fixed,then its static report.
am I right?

Read Only Access while assigning Analysis Types and Reports in User/Group

Hi Team,
While Assigning Analysis Type,Reports and Workbooks to User "Read" option is not enabled. It is not working and as soon as we select analysis type ,Only one option is editable "Create/Update/Delete". The other two Option is always there as display "Read" and "Execute" . Execute might work with "Scripts template" but "READ" should work for analysis types and Reports.
We are already struggling with "Read Only" Access in security filter as its not working now.

The behavior for Analysis type, workbook and script as follow:-
The Analysis type create/update/delete option will be enabled, read and execute option will be disabled by default.
The report workbook read option will be enabled, and other two options will be disabled.
The script execute option will be enabled, and other two option’s will be disabled.
For providing “Read Only” access in security filter, Switch to the administration tab, Click on Security Filters, Click on Add button, Open Create Security Filter window, Select the access level to Read Only and select user in assigned user , Click on ok.
It should work.

How to get an option to create a page type as "Report and Form"

Hi,
When creating a new application, APEX 2.1 gives an option to select a page type as "Report and Form". Once we have already created an application, how to get the same option?

I'm still not able to make the search/go and reset buttons work. When I use to create these pages at the time of application creation, these use to come as default. Any clue on it?

Different types of Reporting

I understand that you can get reporting for domain-based reporting but I am unsure more on more of the differences on these type of reporting.
can anyone please list all of the reporting options and the benifits...
such as
Domain-Based Executive Summary - what can this do that others cant...I thought this was a schedule report rather then a reporting option? so I guess it qualifies even if its not in the reporting menu?
so this would mean I should know all the other schedule reporting options and the benifits to tell customers?

'Reporting' can be seen as scheduled reports (so reports you can periodically create) and the real-time reporting that is provided in the GUI. The 'Domain-Based Executive Summary' is a scheduled report type that can only be created on a Security Management Appliance (SMA, also known as M-Series appliance). This report contains a summary of the incoming and outgoing mail traffic for a week based on the domain for which the traffic was handled.

Condition type wise report

can we have condition type wise report of all billing documents executed

See u r prices are in KONV & Billing Tables are VBRK & VBRP
VBRK is Header Table
VBRP is Detail table
Now enter billing document number in VBELN field of VBRK & extract KNUMV i.e Document Condition.
Also enter billing document number in VBELN field and material number in field of MATNR & extract Item Number POSNR,
So now u are having Document condition & item number
Put this two things in KNUMV & KPOSN fields of KONV & u will get all values in KWERT according to Condition Type.

Problem creating T-Code for report(type Form-report)

Hi all,
Can T-Code be created for reports which are of type'form report '.
Here is the problem in detail :-
I have to use transaction 'CJE3' where four reports got created.These reports are of type 'form report'.Currently I am not able to create the transaction for the reports in se93 transaction.
Please advice on how I can create T-Code for these reports.

this report is created by Report painter for this Reports if u want to create tcode please follow the steps.
se93 ---> take option parameter transaction .
1.default valuse for transcation is START_REPORT
2.skip initial Scree = kich this one
3.screen = 0.
4.kich all GUI check boxes
5.last one , u have to entry values like this
D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE = report Type
D_SREPOVARI-REPORT = name of the report in the bottom scree.

From a theoretical perspective there are two type of reports
Classical Reports , and
Interactive Reports .
The classical reports are simple lists that display the data entries
in a simple format on one screen ( also called as basic list).
In case of Interactive reports , it is possible to transition/ move from the basic
list to secondary lists on triggering a command event like double_click ,
at line selection .
In interactive reports , on display of a secondary report , a new header can be
specified , as a different select query is executed for it .
The ALV reports are an expample of interactive reports .
ALC are of two kinds :> list and grid display .
These r basically used for customized data formatting and display.
Gris ALV has option for header details and provies a faciity for summing numering fields , or performing certain arithmetic oprns on it.
Alv reports can further b interactive where a secondary display is possible.

Indeed there a several reports that you can identify in the Report Template Registration under Administration - BIP Reports, if you are using version 8.1.X.
I would consider your customer business to pre identify the most interesting reports available as showing all the reports might be confusing.
Please be aware that some reports need to be manually added as documented under Oracle support "Requirement to register template files for standard BI Publisher reports not documented Document ID 754543.1" and "Standard Reports fail to upload to Oracle BI Publisher Server :Document ID 754547.1"

because in one line you are saying you want to create Country Key, which means your requirement is in some transaction whereas at the end, you say for report.
Can you let us know you want to develop a report and if so, from which transactions, you want to take datas. You have to be clear on this.

Besides XL reporter (which is a cool tool) you can also use the query generator to create custom SQL queries and then using print layout designer you can create a nice printable report.
For more info on this go to the service market place and under the education link you can get flashbooks in the implementation and developer classes for print layout design and for custom queries.
The last option will be using SDK and crystal reports, you can design the reports under crystal reports and then using SDK to attach those reports to the menu.
