Identity Center LDAP view through VDS, how to show assignments validity

Hello everyone,
we are running idm 7.2 sp8 and we are trying to provide an LDAP view of our productive identity store through the VDS so that a third party product can read our data (especially assignments data).
We also want the third party product to be able to send data to our staging area so we first used the standard VDS Template HCM LDAP EXTRACT for IDM 72 and then completed it (creating another datasource and another "branch" in our vitual tree), to reach our productive area.
We are now able to see every attribute of the user but we still have one problem, as you can see, we put a validity date on one assignment :
In my LDAP view, i am not able to retrieve it:
Do you know if it possible to do so or not?

Unfortunately it didn't really help me finding a solution for what I am looking for.
I think it would help me if you could show me your old config file - if this is possible.
It would also help me if you - or anyone else - could tell me how to set a filter for a specific EntryType (e.g. MX_PERSON) in either a configuration done with the IDM Identity Center template or done like in the blog with the databases template (e.g. idmv_link_ext). The last configuration shows even all entries...
I've also configured the VDS with the IDM Identity Center template and connected via a LDAP browser where I set the filter objectClass = MX_PERSON which has shown me only entries of this EntryType. This also works for other EntryTypes, if I filter in the browser.
I tried to do this inside the VDS but didn't get it so far.
My set up was done with two branches, one for MX_PERSON and one for another EntryType, but I weren't able set that previously described filter inside the VDS.
I quite want to filter inside the VDS not later by LDAP.

Hi,
Login to portal with a user having content administration role.
Navigate to your iview which must be under content provide by SAP(if its a standard iview).
Open the iview and click on preview button.
Then press ctr on keyboard and rightmouseclick on the field for which you want to change.
A popup will open. Change the visibility in the popup and save the changes. This is a way of personalization and it'll be applicable for all the users.

Issue in refering Custom Identity Center Attirbutes in VDS

We have a set of custom attributes created on SAP NIDM Identity Center.We are integrating SAP NIDM with a java application through SPML calls.
We are able to send and receive built-in attributes of SAP NIDM, but when we map custom attribute on VDS and specify the mappings under Conversion From and Conversion to we are not able to get the attribute values.
Can we utilize IC Database Tables / Views , to map IC attributes with VDS attributes.
Please , help me to resolve this issue. Thanks in Advance

I am not sure if I have the same situation as described by you. However, below I try to render the scenario:
In our federated portals, we have some custom user attributes, which we set in both the ume properties as follows:
1. Self defined attributes administred by administrator
2. Self defined attributes administred by user
And then a portal service would fillin the attribute values duing a user synchronisation task. And we are able to see these properties as admin etc. This was in earlier versions of portal.
After we have upgraded our portals to netweaver 7.1, though we are able to set the attributes in the ume properties, and our service works without giving any kind of errors, we are unable to see the attribute values in the user administration iviews.
So, what I wonder if you are doing something similar, and kind of , can you me some hints on why I am not able to see those values, would be just great.

I believe you need to go into System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement so the image you want appears on the projector.

Your right, there is only one tab to view the report.
To open the subreports you will need to click on them in the main report. I don't know of a way to open them programmatically like you are doing here

Error while passing HCM-Staging Data to Identity Center

We are implementing IDM 7.1 SP2 and using HCM-Integrations Scenario.
The extracting scenario over vds into the HR-Staging are is working fine.
We do have troubles while running the task 270/Write HCM Employee To SAP Master .
There we get always the error "sap_getSysUname Par: [20090210-99991231]<PERNR>!![20090210-
99991231] Invalid SyUname: [20090210-99991231] does not exist or is
not valid todayPass stopped by script.
We have checked the OSS Note 1308250 - it doesn't helped - it justed hide the error message.
We have checked with debbuging the hr - data . The field syuname is filled and delivered.
a.) does anybody knows about this problem or can give some tipps to fix this error?
b.) we have a lot of jobs with errors know in the job qeue - we can stop them, but not delete or cancel?
anybody knows how to kill the jobs in IDM 7.1 ?

I was not able to use the new VDS Template 'HCM LDAPEXTRACT to IDM' because it was causing a problem while integrating with HCM and IDM. Hence I have used the old template 'HR Export to IDM Identity Center' which seems to be working fine.
But since the reprot RPLDAP_EXTRACT_IDM pushes the records with the time part prefixed, and that I'm not able to use the new VDS Template which has a job HR_Staging_Area which performs the job of pushing the HCM data from Staging to Productive Identity Store. Since I see that you have implemented it, it will be of great help if you can share the steps and details of how to use the new VDs template and the jobs related to it.

LDAP Schema from VDS

We are using SAP VDS 7.2 SP8. Out of the Box Identity Service is deployed on VDS to expose LDAP Interface. When we connect to VDS LDAP Interface using standard LDAP client, we are not getting the schema information for the user attributes.
Is any separate configuration needed at VDS level to get the user schema information?
Any thoughts? Done heaps of googling, but nothing really comes up.

Hi Henrik,
I am experiencing the exact same issue. Under server properties it appears you can select a method to create the rootDSE, there are a few delivered options but none of them appear to work. I see entries in the operations log but nothing useful.
VDS does function for authentication and browse but searching always fails.
The help doc seems to suggest you should write a custom method, it would be great to know if you attempt this or have got any information from SAP that might suggest how to make the delivered classes to work?

Does any of you have some job steps or how to perform a task in order to import the Active Directory Groups like privileges in the identity center? ... I'm a few lost with this.
Something like the Initial Load job performed for the SAP connector where the roles and privileges are imported like privs in the IC.

Installing Identity Center Database Schema (Oracle)

Dear All,
I would like to seek for some information about the installation of the Identity Center Database Schema. Based in the configuration document, after you have installed the database software, you may now proceed with the Database Schema for the Identity Center. I was being asked with the below questions once I initiate the mxmc-install command:
1. Enter the Net Service Name
2. Enter Password of the Oracle User
3. Paswords of all default users for IC.
Once I have provided all of this, I will received an error of ORA-12560: Protocol Adapter Error.
As I have just followed the configuration manual, I am lost on why the installation is giving this error, I know that I only installed the Database Software and not the database.
Based on the guide:
Install the database system
Install the Identity Center database schema
Install the Java Runtime Environment
Install the database client
Install the JDBC drivers
Install the Management Console
Install the Runtime Components
Install and configure SAP NetWeaver AS Java
Install the Identity Management User Interface
Post-installation: Configure the Java Runtime Environment
Post-installation: Add the JDBC drivers to the CLASSPATH extension
I am now in step 2. Please see system specifics:
Operating System: Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise
Database: Oracle 11.2.0.3
Installed Memory (RAM): 12GB
System Type: 64-Bit Operating System
Can you please confirm if I need to install the Database first (Full database and not the Softwares only) Appreciate any help you can extend. Thanks a lot.

form a standalone installation the installation guide provides the following steps:
1. Install the database system.(Is this the Database syatem required for the NetWeaver AS Java?) if yes we have installed the database while installing java stack is that fine?
we did not use scripts mentioned in the database installation guide for IDM 7.2
2. Install the Identity Center database schema.(after installing the database syatem do we need to create a separate schema specific to IDM ? how can we do that?)
3. Install the Java Runtime Environment.(What are these variables?) we have java version "1.6.0_34" ,OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.13.6) (rhel-1.13.6.1.el6_6-x86_64)
4. Install the database client.(Is this the same DB client installation that is required while installing Netweaver java ?)

View CRMV_IC_POPU control in which Business transaction profile will be allows pop-up screen. This view can be maintained through tx SM30.
There are two field u201CBusiness Transaction Profileu201D and u201CAllows Dialog Boxu201D
The first one fill with the name of your Business Transaction Profile, unfortunately list value of this field is not working, so you must type the value correctly. Next, mark the check box u201CAllows Dialog Boxu201D.
You can find u201CBusiness Transaction Profileu201D name, doing the follow:
Tx SPRO, IMG, CRM, Business Roles, Define Business Role.
Select your Business Role and then double click on folder u201CAssign Function Profilesu201D, next at colum u201CFunction Profile IDu201D locate value IC_BT. Your Business Transaction Profile is the value at the field u201CProfile Valueu201D, standard value use to be DEFAULT.

There above opens fine for me; sorry, didn't expect anyone would have difficulty w/ it.
Windows 8.1.1 or Windows 8.1 Update or KB2919355
Call it what you like, a rose by any other name is, still, a rose.
And this has brought some pretty rosy stuff to Win 8.1. 8.1 delivered a plethora of cool things to the initial Windows 8.0 platform but, I am not here, right now, to discuss that gold mine but, rather its Update, Win8.1.1. This small yet,
packed Update comes or will as an Auto Update via WU. It installs quickly and easily.
Basically, its only requirement is having Windows 8.1 in place… an 8.0 device must be Upgraded to Windows 8.1 and then on to this Update.
Now, even though 8.1 responded to User feedback and requests, 8.1.1 has tried to take that endeavor, even, further.
Much of that is in regard to making the OS more intuitive, more familiar and more mouse friendly, catering to non-Touch environments and to have some things more overt.
A good portion of the Update impact on both Consumers and Businesses whilst some are value items specifically for enterprise.
Firstly, let’s address the ‘common ground’ and then look at the assets to or for businesses.
I will not delve into extreme details for this discussion but, will provide links which, will give you the full story.
However, the links go to the usual, sterile, propaganda and although, certainly, informative & enlightening, not the personal perspective that I would like to share, at this time.
I write in several tech forums, ergo, I have seen what people like, dislike or want.
8.1 does, indeed, indulge what people have been expressing.
It, also, I feel, helps make people enjoy using Store APPs more and helps draw then into the world of APPs.
A major part of the Update is in regard to APP handling and usage.
To me it’s mostly about APPs but, there are some other items so let’s tackle them, first.
May seem like little things but, sometimes doesn’t take much to make people happy.
And this does destroy the suggestion that MS doesn’t listen to End Users or care what they think or say.
On Start there, now, are Power & Search icons. There are Rt Clk menus attached to the Start Tiles.
There’s a Search box on the ALL Applications screen. Back to the Store APPS enhancements because I suggest, this is the, really, cool bit.
Some people have struggled over using the Switcher Bar, opening APPs, closing APPs and positioning and maneuvering or manipulating them.
Well, this is where things get exciting… NOW, the Store APPs can sit on the Task Bar
and they can be pinned. NOW, they can be closed or minimised with a bar at the top of them.
NOW, as many as four can be enjoy with greater flexibility than ever before.
All of this making the OS easier and more similar to what people are accustom to having and doing.
And having APP icons permanently available on the task Bar is great since, any that are used consistently to get shut down by the OS on the Switcher Bar after a period of time. Nor does one have to pop out the Switcher Bar to access an APP.
Lastly, to carry the familiar Desktop experience across ALL screens, the Task Bar shows on every screen, even if it is a Store APP, Start or ALL Applications.
There are, also, a number of things that are not quite so obvious or superficial, some under-the-covers stuff, plus things relative to business/enterprise issues.
One thing having positive impact right across the board is support for low cost hardware.
With Windows 8.1 Update there is a continuance to fine-tune Windows performance to deliver a great user experience on the broad range of Windows devices. Specifically, with memory and disk space optimization in Windows 8.1 Update we now
enable Windows to run on even lower cost hardware with as low as 1GB of RAM and a 16GB hard drive.
So you ca see it is possible to convey the message that using the OS can, now, thanks to this Update be, even more enjoyable and appealing than it, already, was.
Things easier to find or see and done in established, already known ways, methods and comfort zones.
End Users will like what Win8.1.1 brings and offers them… so spread the word.
Now, for some important ‘bullets’ provided by the Update that IT Pros should know about and be able to enthusiastically impart, particularly, to thrilled Enterprise Users on top of the aspects, already, mentioned that are for everyone.
>> Improvements to take advantage of new hardware innovation and support the latest devices, such as devices based on 64 bit Baytrail™ processors.
>> Extended Mobile Device Management (MDM)
>> Easier app deployment and management is app side loading
And, also, exciting
licensing changes come with Windows 8.1 Update.
The big caveat here, the meaningful take-away for y’all, in my view, is there are many desirable facets contained in the Windows 8.1.1 Update.
It is a strength to know this content so it can be transmitted to End Users both, Consumer and Enterprise customers and clients.
There are things for which business folks will be grateful.
There are things that make the User Experience nicer for anyone and everyone.
KB2919355 may be small but, in my view, it packs a big punch.

Reading around the edges of the error message, are you seriously trying to find things of merit in the spring update? They seem pretty few and far between to me. 800 MB (er, 200, er, who knows) for what? a few dozen bugfixes?
If you know of something of substance in the update, please share, because I'm not finding much.
Why has there been so much hype about this version? It was "leaked", then it has been getting press like what you're trying to show here. Isn't the hype actually supposed to come with some substance as well? Where is
that substance?

Center speaker playing through su

can anyone please help, for some unknown reason my center speaker is playing through my sub woofer,? i have a soundblaster li've 24bit external, with a logitech 5. surround system. every thing else works, except center speaker playing through sub, i don't understand how this could be. any info would be great. thanks, Rick

I've dabbled around, and increased the default volume for centre speaker to around 80%. This seemed to have fixed the problem. I must admit, this is rather embarassing. lol.
But is this really the source of the low volume? Or is my increament of volume from default a compensation of it's
