    Hello,
is there a trial version of the "Sun Identity Manager " available? (e.g. 90 days test licence, or something similar)
I'am a consultant for metadirectory products and want to setup a test-environment to discover the benefits of your product.
    Best regards,

    Hi Mark,
    thank you for your answer.
Is there documentation (e.g. administration guide) available?
I searched at docs.sum.com but I only found documentation about "Java System Identity Server", which is a different product as I understand the "confusing" product naming.
    Best regards

  • Identity managent user interface is not available

when i try to acces user administration i get following error.
A required service for the identity management user interface is not available. Contact your system administrator.

See OSS note 869852 - Central Note For UME Web Dynpro UIs (user Admin in Portal). Topic #5 Troubleshooting discusses some possible solutions. We have found that sometimes, a complete shutdown and restart of the server works.  Also, our Basis guys stopped and then restarted application com.sap.security.core.admin in the visual administrator and then the User Admin functionality was available for awhile until the portal was stopped/started for backup. Our Basis group is going to look into this further and I will post any additional info that we find.  Would appreciate it if you would do the same.

    Hi All,

Currectly I am looking into below Oracle Ducument.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/core.1111/e12035/directorytier_im.htm#BACIEEBD
This document completely configuring the High Avaialability case when we have Oracle Data Base in RAC mode. Please correct me if i am wrong.
But I just wanted to know how can we configure the high availability mode without Oracle DataBase in RAC mode.
Do we need to configure the DataBase in high Availability Mode also?
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Application com.seeburger.xi.frontend.keycenter missing in identity management

    Hello gurus
We are in the planning phase of Seeburger PGP module implementation.
While going through the manuals provided with the installation, one of the steps involves creation of a new role and assignment of action manage of application com.seeburger.xi.frontend.keycenter* .
However, while going through the list of available actions under identity management, I could not find any such application.
Also when I select Key Center tab in the Seeburger workbench, I get the error "The requested resource doesnot exist".
We are using SAP PI 7.1 EHP 1 SPS 0004 and version 2.1.5 of Seeburger.
    Please help.
P.S : I have not yet deployed SeePGPModulePI.sca. Is it because of that?
    Regards,
    Xineohpi

    Hello,
from my point of view, this makes absolute sense... if the application is not deployed, then of course it can also not be configured.
    Kind Regards
    Stefan

  • Confusion in the Identity Management Training offerings

    Hi All,
I am trying to find a suitable training that will allow me to get an indepth knowledge about the Identity Managerment. When looking at the course listed for the Identity manger they are little confusing.
For Ex: I looked at course IDM 4484 and the prerequisite classes mentioned there does not have any links. I am assuming these classes are removed from the offering for some reason.
Similarly when looking at course IDM-345 the Related course (Before) has no active link to the course detail. Again, I am assuming these courses are not offered anymore. Also, there is no indication of which version of IDM will be used in the training class.
May be SUN is in the process of updating the course offerings. I appreciate if a SUN Training representative reply to this email and provide an updated training schedule in the Identity Management area.
    Thanks,
    B.

IDM-345, the Deployment Fundamentals course, will give you an good foundation. This has just been updated to IdM 7.0, so the timing is perfect. BTW, I see that the new description has yet to be loaded to the web -- I'll correct that.
We have removed the VC-IDM-3451 and -3452 from public offering, as well as the IDM-2525, which was quite old. Thanks for the heads up -- I will remove those references from the descriptions.
If you want a brief introductory course, look for WMT-IDM-1482, the Integrated Solutions course. I believe it is available to you through the SDN.
The IDM-4484, Advanced Deployment course, is being updated now. It's highly recommended that students for this course not only take IDM-345, but also have the experience of 2-3 deployments going in.
    I hope this helps.

    All,
I could resolve the issue by applying the note Note 869852 - Central Note For UME Web Dynpro UIs , the part at page 4/11  :
    5)trouble shooting
The second symptom matches our problem and was resolved using the solution b.
Please note if you dont define an account for the Run_as identity it will pickup any user in the Administrator group
I restarted the J2ee after the change.

  • Installation in VMware Oracle Identity Manager (9.1.0.0)

    Hello everyone,
I'm quite unfamiliar with the Oracle products but I try to install the Identity Suite by following the available documation. Unfortunately there are some special points they missed but I already find them out in this forum. But now I'm despairing at one step in the OIM installation.
When I have to provide the OC4J connection settings I got everytime the error message that the OAS hasn't found in the specified path. For my understanding this path and the path to the jdk is provided in the step before and I could pass the step, so the path I provided must be wright.
Have anyone some hints how I can check the existing installation?
Here some further information from my installation:
    OS: Windows 2003 SP2
OAS: Oracle Identity Management Infrastructure and Oracle Identity Federation (windows_x86_oim_oif_101401)
OC4J: self created, may be incomplete
If further informations are important to narrow down the problem please ask for.

You need OAS 10.1.3.3 for OIM 9.1. Download SOA suite from http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/ias/101310/soa_linux_x86_101310_disk1.cpio. Install it and apply the metalink note Note:553266.1 to upgrade to 10.1.3.3. Then create your own oc4j instance following OIM 9.1 installation manuals

  • Using Identity Management for Securing Web Services

My goal is to associate my services with an Oracle Internet Directory. I made some attempts to set up SAML authentication for the web services, but it didn't have the right outcome.
(My identity management server and OID is up and running and I have successfully made authentication modules for other web applications)
    Here is what I did:
    1. I wrote a simple java file, used jdeveloper tools to create and deploy it as a web service to OC4J. I associated an identity management server with this service through OC4J web tools as security provider.
    2. I made a data control for the web service and put it in an ADF application . (client)
    3. I deployed the client project(2) to OC4J.
I could use the web service through the page.
    Then
I secured the webservice to expect SAML for authentication.
Surprisingly, the client could still communicate with the webservice, Why? Shouldn't it have rejected the request because of the problem in SAML token? (The proxy and the data control were not secured, and didn't provide any SAML tokens)
    4.
I added login page to my client project (through ADF security wizard). It used idenity management for authentication successfully. login process completes and web service data control is displayed.
    5. I want the authentication information to be propagated through the page so that the web service receives the data and uses Identity Management.
    I know I should add <property name="oracle.security.wss.propagate.identity" value ="true"/>
to one of the configuration files, but don't know where exactly.
    Best Regards,
    Farbod

It doesnt matter whether the service is invoked as part of your larger process or not, if it is performing any business critical operation then it should be secured.
The idea of SOA / designing services is to have the services available so that it can be orchestrated as part of any other business process.
Today you may have secured your parent services and tomorrow you could come up with a new service which may use one of the existing lower level services.
If all the services are in one Application server you can make the configuration/development environment lot easier by securing them using the Gateway.
Typical probelm with any gateway architecture is that the service is available without any security enforcement when accessed directly.
You can enforce rules at your network layer to allow access to the App server only from Gateway.
When you have the liberty to use OWSM or any other WS-Security products, i would stay away from any extensions. Two things to consider
The next BPEL developer in your project may not be aware of Security extensions
Centralizing Security enforcement will make your development and security operations as loosely coupled and addresses scalability.
    Thanks
    Ram

  • Identity Management for UNIX (aka Windows Services for Unix) Adding 2012 DC to a prep'd 2003 domain.

We have been successfully using Windows Services for Unix on a 2003 domain for passwd and group maps.
I prep'd the domain to allow a 2012 R2 server to be added and then added the IdMU role/feature on this new 2012R2 DC. Now the passwd map is still OK but the group map now shows full usernames rather than short names.
i.e. what DID show with "ypcat group" as ...
    "infra-shared::65550:gfer,jhug,shig", now shows as
    "infra-shared::65550:Garry Ferguson,Jason Hughes,Steve Higgins"
and so is not usable. I have had to revert to local /etc/group files on all our unix machines!!
    Help/comments would be really appreciated!
    Garry Ferguson

    Hi Gaz Ferg,
SFU 3.5 is used to installed on windows 2003 and windows XP. SFU 3.5 cannot used on Windows 2012, that makes customer cannot user NFS and user name Mapping services on Windows
2012.  From windows 2003 R2, NFS is a build-in component in OS, we need to add Roles/Features to use NFS.
    1. What is change in 2012R2
IDMU component, which was used to authenticate Linux users has been removed. Now a Windows server cannot play role of NIS Master server.
Passwords cannot sync to the Unix Machines. Maps can not sync between Windows and Unix computers.
    2. What has not change in 2012R2
Following methods to authenticate and map a Unix user to Window user are available:-
    Active Directory
Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS)
    Username Mapping Protocol store (MS-UNMP
    Local passwd and group files
Unmapped UNIX Username Access (UUUA) (applies to Server for NFS using AUTH_SYS only)

  • Unable to see Default alias in Identity management

    Hi Experts!!!!!
I have added a new system in the portal which connects my backend system, I have defined the system alias and in the screen it shows me the alias is ready for user mapping,
But i have selected SAPLOGON ticket, then the system is not visible in the identity management. But when i select uwidp the system is available for user mapping.Due to this the connector test gets failed.
I have seen in some of the posts and found that eu_role should be given in permissions i have done it.Does this needs server restart to make the changes to take effect.
What would be the problem I am able to see the alias in the other system when i selected SAPLOGON ticket.
After creating the alias do we need to make any changes?
I have followed the help document of SAP.
    Regards,
    Vamshi.

    Hi Vamshi,
basically, SAP NetWeaver Portal offers two different Single Sing-on techniques to connect seamlessly with integrated backend systems.
    1) SAP Logon Ticket
    2) User Mapping
This are two totally different techniques to achieve the same goal: Single Sign-on.
Using SAP Logon Ticket, the SAP NetWeaver Portal issues an encrypted and signed HTTP coockie containing the portal user's logon id. The backend system checks the ticket and authenticates the corresponding user.
Using User Mapping, the SAP NetWeaver Portal uses previously given backend credentials (username/password) to log into backend application on behalf of the users. The user can enter his credentials either via personalization dialog (therefore the user needs the eu_core_role) or in identity management.
If you select SAP Logon Ticket the user does not need to map his backend credentials. That's why you do not see the system in the identity management (tab user mapping).
However, if you select User Mapping (UIDPWD) and run a connection test the SAP NetWeaver Portal tries to log into the backend system using the mapped credentials of the current user. If the current user did not map any credentials (or if he entered wrong credentials) the connection test will fail.
Hope this helps you to understand how the portal works.
    Best regards,
    Martin

  • Identity Management Installation Error

I have installed the following components on a Windows 2003 Server:
RCU: ofm_rcu_win_11.1.1.2.0_disk1_1of1.zip (ran and installed ODS and OIF schemas)
    WLS: oepe111130_wls1032_win32.exe

    Hello,
I have got the same problem, i am installing the same version of components you enumerated but on linux Red Hat Enterprise 5.3 x86_64.
    My log says:
Trying to start the component oid1

So, basically it is the same error. Any conclusions by now what could be the problem? Of course there's no such thing as c or d drive in unix-like system;)
    Best regards,
