can I run Identity server under Windows 2003 Server ? And, is planed Identity server version for Linux ?

A 4.0.1 backup can be restored on the new server - even if it is running 4.1 or 4.2. I don't believe the backup will carry over anything specific to the old server's IP address. I'd recommend that you keep the same hostname (DNS-wise) - especially for things like the server's SSL certificate - although that too won't be part of the application backup so you can give the new server a new name if the customer is strongly set on that.
Note that you may change to soft appliance platform at this point. If the customer has a VMWare environment available, I'd strongly suggest considering this option. the soft appliance is a breeze to install and setup.
In either case, please refer to the installation guide for details.

I am having the same problem with this entry not being found in the registry. I've performed a search for 'Identity Manager' and found the gateway entry values here instead:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Sevices\IdentityManagerGateway
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Sevices\IdentityManagerGateway
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Sevices\IdentityManagerGateway
Please advise how to turn on the gateway loggin feature if this would make the specific entry to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE.... in the registry.

we are just trying to install IDES 4.7:
IDES 4.7 Installation under Windows 2003 Enterprise Server, Xeon 64 bit
But the installation break with error Message:
Error 5 (Access is denied.) in excution of a "NetServerGetInfo" function, line (233), with parameter (saptranshost, 101).
MOS-01224 Failed to add privileges "NetcbPrivilege SeAssignPrimaryTokenPrivile SeIncreaseQuotaPrivilege to account ....." ....
FJs-00012 Error when excuting script....
Any experience or help from your side?

Hi. First login in your server with user "sid"adm after go to START --> RUN --> CMD
adn execute "R3trans -d" Tell what result .

Oracle 9i R1 application server With Windows 2003 server

I am Getting error (Web Forms can install only Windows NT/2000) When installing Oracle 9i R1 application server in Windows 2003 SP1.
is any specific setting or workarounds available to install in Windows 2003 Server?.

setup.exe -ignore sysprereqs this may work because it will detect that you dont have the appropiated OS, but it will ignore under your responsability and keep installing.
Also you may try to modify the oraparam.ini in the install folder, and add some lines for the Windows version that you have, but this is more difficult, because you should use the exact name of the Version in order to pass this check.

Anyone running UPK 3.5 (Server) on Windows 2003-64 bit?

I am trying to install UPK 3.5 Server on Windows 2003-64 bit, with the Oracle 11g client, connecting to an 11.1.0.7 Oracle database that's on a remote server. The installation is failing with a connectivity error that I suspect is related to the 64-bit configuration. But before I throw in the towel and revert to Windows 2003-32 bit, I thought I'd see if anyone out there is successfully using the 64-bit version who can help me out.

Ok, So I am finally able to install UPK 3.5.1 on Windows 2008 Server 64 bit.
My database sit on linux machine which is OEL 5 64 bit.
Now , I am facing different issues :( .. like windows authntication and user privilges even though the user i am using in installer has SYSDBA privilges still it doesnt take it
installation guide is pathetic .. sorry to say ..
my solution was this ..
The development team has gotten back to me. They have requested stated the following:
"This error is an Oracle message. We have addressed this particular error a few times. The error message indicates that our installer is not finding an Oracle ODBC driver to use to make the connection. The installer looks in the registry for the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\ODBC Drivers key to find any with "Oracle" in the name to try connecting with. Please get a screenshot of this registry key."
If the registry is empty, please attach the screenshot and navigate to: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/oci/instantclient/index.html.
Unzip the 32 bit into C:\Oracle\instantclient_11_1_X32 folder. You have to unzip both the instantclient-basic-win32-11.1.0.6.0.zip and instantclient-odbc-win32-11.1.0.6.0.zip.
After unzipping, run the odbc_install.exe this will install and register the driver for the 32 bit into the (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\ and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\ODBC Drivers).

Addin does not work under Windows 2003

Hello.
I have a few Excel addins with forms and other objects that work fine on my desktop (Windows XP), where I have OO4O installed. Recently a user needed to start using these addins and I installed OO4O on a server using Windows 2003. The user (Windows XP also) connects to the server using Remote Desktop Connection. However when he uses the addins they do not work. The connection to the database is fine, I know that because otherwise some forms would not appear. The problem is when the user presses the first combobox of each form no data appears. If I enter just some text on that combobox, which enables a second combobox, then this second combobox works fine, I can see the database data. When the form allows me to press a button that runs a query I receive the message “Not all variables bound”.
If anybody can help I would very much appreciated.

As I wrote, I have tried to reinstall the driver without success.
It should be a hardware problem if you are able to run the camera perfectly. Are you using a 64- or 32-bit OS?

When we were choosing which OS to install on our Tuxedo developers server we
decided
to try Windows 2003 server. We did not suppose that we could have any
problems
with this choise. But we have!
We use it with DB 7.2 workgroup edition and Tuxedo 8.0 (PatchLevel 172).
When one of server processes crashes (for example by exit(1) or by
exception)
(it happend not so rarely, because this server is actively used in
development
and testing processes) we cannot restart this server process!
When I write "restartsrv -i SrvId" in command line nothing happens.
When I write "tmboot -i SrvId" it says "Duplicate server".
When I write "tmshutdown -i SrvId" it just hangs and I have to wait for 10
minutes
while it says "CMDTUX_CAT:949: WARN: Shutdown failed. 0 processes stopped."
Tuxedo WebAdministration conlsole says almost the same - "Failed to
deactivate SRVGROUP/200
(still in state ACTIVE)-10:CMDTUX_CAT:1689: ERROR: Could not shutdown any
servers".
As a result any server crash (including expected) leads to 15 minutes
waiting!!!
As you understand it cound not be accepted!... and it is very annoying. :-)
This problem never happened under Windows 2000 server (a week before I
returned from site
installation where this software works fine under Windows 2000 server).
How can we solve this problem?
Or should we downgrade our OS to Windows 2000?

Try a bbclean from the tmadmin command line to clean up the BBL so you will be
able to restart the server using the tmboot command.
In addition to this check the values for SCANUNIT and SANITYSCAN in the ubbconfig.
The observation that it takes 15 minutes for TUXEDO to discover that your server
has crashed suggests they have values that might be too high.

both sqlserver and oracle 10 g onthe same os (win2003)
Created listener and tnsname settings as per the documention spec..
then created a database link for sqlserver here.
my transpernet gateway works without any problem,

10g Database server hangs windows 2003!!!!

But, frequently the database hangs and nobody can access the server. Then, i need to restart the server..The alert.log says the following....

You can not set SGA_TARGET greater then 2.7 G on windows 32 bit machine. Yes , you can have SGA greater then 3 Gb but by using AWE which requires to unset SGA_TARGET and use db_block_buffers instead of db_cache_size.

Application Server on Windows 2003 - 32bit / 64bit queries

We have a 10g forms application that we wish to deploy on 64bit AMD opteron architecture machines.
We need to deploy on Windows 2003 Server.
From Metalink, I understand that Infrastructure Installation is not supported on the 64bit version of Windows, which means deploying on 32bit Windows 2003 installed on the Opteron.
This leads me to two questions:
1) Has anyone experienced any significant platform specific issues with running Application Server on 32bit Windows 2003 on a 64 bit Opteron platform (over and above 32bit OS on a 32bit platform)?
2) 32bit processes are limited to a maximum of 4Gb address space. I understand that the Forms Server on Windows uses a single process with multiple threads to service forms sessions. Does this mean that an individual forms server may only service clients up to a 4Gb (or lower?) memory limit regardless of the Physical memory installed on the box? Or is it possible to configure multiple forms processes within a single Forms server to make use of more physical memory?

Spool server on Windows 2003 x64 ?

I'm installing SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 on Windows 2003 x64 with MaxDB.
Printing Guide for SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 states "For a Microsoft Windows XP host, choose access method C. other Microsoft Windows operating systems are not suitable for local printing, as you cannot set up a spool server on them."
However, by default, there is a spool server defined in my installation of SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 on Windows 2003 x64. But I see plenty of "Spool / print: Calling program reports invalid handle for TemSe object (magic==X'NULL-ptr')" errors in the system log when the background processes run every night.
Printing Guide for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 talks about a SAP spool server running on "the Microsoft Windows NT/Windows 2000 system", suggesting that Windows systems other than XP are supported for local printing.
Is that correct? i.e. Has local printing support for Windows 2003 been removed in PI 7.1 ?
I'm surprised, and more than a little confused by this. I'd appreciate any help/explanation.

Just a follow-up if anyone's interested...
I did try setting-up Access Method C in my NetWeaver 7.1 on Windows 2003 x64 with MaxDB and so far the local printing seems to be working OK. So, either:
a) The Printing Guide for SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 is wrong on this issue.
b) The Printing Guide for SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 is right, and this is an undocumented behavior that might break in the future.
c) I just got lucky (and I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth).
Also, Access Method G works fine.

Dreamweaver 8.0.2 update under windows 2003

Web Proxy Server on Windows 2003

We presently run iPlanet Web Proxy Server 3.6 SP2 on Windows 2000.
We would like to upgrade to v3.6 SP6 (the latest), but cannot seem to get it working on Windows Server 2003.
Is it supported on Windows 2003 ? Has anyone got it working on Windows 2003 ?

More information.
The exact problem is that when we try to go to the Admin page http://localhost:8000 we are prompted for login, but then we get "there has been an internal error"
In the event log we get "Faulting application index.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.3790.0, fault address 0x0002d3bd.
