IDES information

Hi all,
I am a newbie here, hope there is someone in this forum that can help me with my queries below.
1. Just installed IDES 4.7SR1. Just wonder whether any application data included in the IDES because I did not see any data in client 000 and client 001.Yes, the configuration is there but could not find any data in the table such as VBAK, VBAP etc. Did I miss something when I installed it or is there any client beside those 2 that might have data ? Kindly help me.
2. For the client copy, from which client should I make the copy and which profile should I choose ? Is there any different between fresh client 000 and client 001. i am aware client 000 we are not allowed to do customizing.

Hi cool,
You are right. There is no data for those tables in clients 000.
But there is data in client : 800. So try to login to 800 and check for the data.

Unable to record audio from second time onwards on Ubuntu 8.04.

I have developed an audio recording application. The application provides the facility to record, save and play the audio using javax.sound API any number of times. The application works fine on MAC and Windows Systems. But when I run the same application on Ubuntu 8.04, for the first time, it works fine and file is recorded and played successfully. If I try to record the second time, the following exception is thrown:

If I close the application and restart, then again for the first time, it works fine and gives the above exception from there onwards.
I tried several options like, making all the objects involved in starting the audio recording process to null, then calling System.gc() and creating every object a fresh but no success.
Can anybody give me some idea/information/links to overcome this problem?

Yes Captfoss, I am calling close() method on all of the lines. As I mentioned in my query that same code is working fine on MAC and Windows OS and the problem is coming only on Ubuntu System. I also tried by making all the objects involved as null, and creating all the objects a fresh, but still no results. When I checked by calling isOpen() method on TargetDataLine, only for the first time, its returning true, thereafter, in all my attempts, its returning false only throwing the exception mentioned in my query.

Error in DTP loading from 1st level DSO to 2nd level DSO

Hi Experts,
I am facing a strange kind of error while loading data through a DTP included in Process chain.
We are loading full load, from a DSO to a target DSO.
But it gives an error, "Error in substep : Start routine".
When i checked the error logs, it redirected me to the start routine, where a deletion statement is written.
We checked, with some ABAP persons, the code contained no error.
So we repeated the DTP(right click and repair), it worked fine this time.
There are several other DTP, with the same source and target.
As per the client requirement, we divided the loads and not loading at once.
The same error happened with other DTP also, but repeating them solved the problem again.
As this is only a work around, but it makes no sense as it had to be done manually everytime even though it is scheduled using a process chain.
Any one who has encountered similar problem, please share idea/information with me.

I had the same problem before, to debug the code, i put break point in the routine and couldnt find any error. Then loaded the data, it failed again. then I removed the break point from the transformation and activated it. When ever we activate transformation, a program is generated, if the program is not generated then this kind of problem occurs.

Acrobat Pro 9 and Leopard Won't Recognize Scanner

Hi, I'm new to this forum.
I am running OS 10.5.5 on an iMac (intel core duo processor), and using Acrobat Pro 9.0.0. I have an Epson 1640SU scanner, and it has worked fine through all of OS X including Tiger 10.4.11 and Acrobat Pro 9 on my PowerPC (G4 PowerMac). However, I cannot get it to recognize a scanner in Acrobat Pro. When I go to File, Create PDF, From Scanner I get the Acrobat Scan window but there are no scanners available (under Tiger with Acrobat Pro on the PowerMac G4 this window would then allow me to select my scanner). I downloaded the latest Epson drivers, and the scanner works fine with Adobe Photoshop CS3 (IN ROSETTA MODE). Epson had a note regarding CS3 which indicated to set it to operate in Rosetta mode (whatever that is) and the instructions to do so by checking a box in the Get Info command from the Application Finder window. Acrobat Pro does not have any option like that.
Anyhow, am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else run across this? Is there a solution which allows scanning direct from the Acrobat Pro application?
My current work around is to scan in CS3 or the Epson Scan application then to save the document and then to open in with Acrobat Pro and then to work on it.

the check mark by the scanner in the system preferences indicates That the driver is active. you wan to uncheck all the scanner drivers except any associated with Epson.
what you do once you get into acrobat, is choose the scan device. which should show (choosing SANE). Now go to File menu and choose make PDF from Scanner. If everything is set you get a menu of whether you want front page only Both and so on there will also in acrobat 9 be some setting for Optical Character recognition and so on.
Then choose to start scan after setting everything. Now you will have to wait for the SANE Scanner menu to come up. choose whether color Greyscale or line art and set the slider for the desired DPI. now hit preview. let scanner scan item them you can click anywhere in the bounding box to make it disappear and you can choose the desired portion of document you wan to scan.
Ok and make sure you down only the versions of the components for the OSX version your using. each is written different according to the OS.

I can use javax.crypto.Cipher/BadPaddingException/IllegalBlockSizeException/NoSuchPaddingException/spec/ShortBuffrException only. If i try to use any other class of javax.crypto, i get an error.
I am new to mobility.I downloaded netbean mobility package and Installed it.

PHP Security?

I have developed a webservice utilising PHP and Oracle.. Our system administrator has pointed out that there was/is a secuirty hole with PHP and Oracle, and therefore declines to install the Oracle PHP module on linux at the corporate web server.. (I have developed a prototype on windows)..

Apparently it is possible read a local file through the api and "there really isn't much PHP can do about this."
Is this fixed with the new Zend guy? Is there a way of securely using PHP with Oracle on an Apache server??

Conflict Quictime Player with RME-Hammerfall Soundcard

I have a RME-Hammerfall Soundcard PCI.
When I use the Windows Media Player everything is OK,unfortunately with the Quictime Player I have audio distorsion.

Thanks for the various ideas, information, and assistance. I think I have figured this problem out or at least what can force it to happen and how prevent it. I am using USB 2.0 to transfer the files and when I install just the drivers for the soundcard and then the nomad explorer with the touch drivers I have no issues.
When I install the rest of the software the audigy comes with including media source, I get two instances of the driver for the Touch that that show in the Task Manager up when connected. Killing one kills the other. If I try to transfer at this point in either software (nomad explorer and Media player) the error message is either that the player is busy or another software program is trying to interact with the Touch. So I think that when I attempt a transfer the software conflicts with the two driver instances.
I have created an image with Ghost right where it works and now I will see what I can figure out about when to replicate it. I am also thinking I should vary the order if installation to see if that makes a difference. One final idea I have is that it is possible that the drivers are ending up in two locations (My default install is my D:\ rather than C:\ )

AQ vs STREAMS

Hi all,
we are planning to exchange data between databases for evaluation.
Task is:
DB1 delivers data (name, address) to db2.
db2 checks data and returns result (hit or no hit; data different; corrected data...).
Databases versions will be 11gR2 on both sides.
Exchange rate will be one (4?) record of data per second.
I am planning to manage this with AQ.
While trying to find out how to achieve this I came about the topic of STREAMS.
In my understanding streams - though using the AQ mechanism - only is helpful when transmitting changes to database objects from one db to another.
Is that correct or can I use streams for the task described above?
Can anybody tell about advantages/disadvantages?
Does anyone know where to find descriptions/examples for this?

Basically what's happening is that the secure services aren't
loading when I pull up the website when using Internet Explorer.
The website works perfect in FireFox and Safari however nothing
loads via the HTTP services when they use SSL. I've read over Lin
Lin's article
http://weblogs.macromedia.com/lin/archives/flex/security/index.cfm
about using SSL with IE however I'm confused as how to implement
the changes she mentions. She basically mentions a couple of the
reasons why the httpServices wouldn't be able to load data in when
connecting via SSL. I've read over the Adobe TechNote at
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=fdc7b5c&pss=rss_flashplayer_fdc7b5 c
but this wasn't clear either.
1. How do I change the server settings to have the correct
header information?
2. Can I change something in the Flex Compiler to allow for

Contouring from point geometry

Hi all,
Is any spatial utility or methods are available for creating contour or isopleths on Oracle spatial? I want to create contour from point geometry show it on map (using mapviewer) similar to this site.

I found some java applet samples are found in this site.

You could use the Surfer or ArcGIS API to create a contour map on the fly given whatever dynamic parameters you have. One challenge with the Surfer API is that the inputs and outputs need to be files named with a filename (as far as I know). That's not convenient in this context. I have not looked in detail at the ArcGIS API to see if it also has this limitation.
You could also prerender all the maps required by the UI. That will give you the best performance. Creating maps can be very slow.

Missing Class = "Monitor" from registry related to Desktop monitor

There is certain registry key named "Class" under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\DISPLAY\Default_Monitor\...\" with value as "Monitor" is missing.
I need to get desktop monitor information via EDID on check for Class = "Monitor".
What is the reason for this missing registry key?
