IDES on existing system

Hi All,
Just a precaution to go ahead with IDES 2005 SR 2 on Solaris 10 where already Solman and ECC6 is running. This will be the 3rd installation on the same server, but IDES?
I have read the Note 1013391 - IDES ERP 2005 ECC 6.0 SR2, but even though has some doubt that it should not affect the other 2 running application?
has anybody done the IDES on already running sap application and any precaution to take?

Initially with faced lots of issue with installing SolMan with 8GB RAM. But we are not using SolMan at the par. So most of the time it will be off. So only DEV and IDES will be running at the time.
Also i would like to know if, where are the parameters defined for the java thing. I am worried bcos java is not behaving the way it should have been at present.
Also I tried to collect some data of Shared memory disposition overview through sappfpar. The followings are the details, can you please suggest what care should be taken and where/how?

    I have a 21.5" iMac (Late 2012) running OS X Mavericks. I'm trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate via Bootcamp but whenever i get to the setup part it goes wrong
    These are the steps I followed
    I selected all the options since I didn't have the drivers or an install disk
    it copied the Windows 7 iso image, downloaded the support software, and saved the support software to the flash drive (8GB)
    I selected a partition size - I gave windows roughly 100GB
    and I let it install
    Right now I'm at the part where it says " where do you want to install windows? I selected the bootcamp partition and formatted it. It now says
    "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log files for more information"
    WHAT DO I DO?

    I had to read the apple instructions several times before they started to make sense.  I burned my iso onto a DVD and had the required USB for support software.  Are you trying to use the single USB method?

    I got the following error on solution manager maintenance optimizer when calculating the queue.
    As per sap note : Note 1139602 - Several enhancement package releases on one system .
    Now, I am upgrading all the support packs in the system to the latest level of EHP3.
    While Import it encounter with DDIC_ACTIVATION
    TP_STEP_FAILURE
    Error message: OCS Package SAPK-60301INEAAPPL, tp step A, return
    code 0008.
    I have Upgraded the Kernel ann TP, R3trans to Latest but still have issue.
    Kernel Release: 700

    An activation failed. check the import log in SPAM to see which object is failing and for what reason (Goto - Import Logs - Queue).

  • Implement Best Practice in existing system

    Hi,
    I am trying to figure out the smartest way to implement best practice.
    The only problem is that it is to be implemented in an existing landscape containing a Finance solution.
    We will implement IM&C which mainly comes with complete new configuration.
    It is more or less impossible to implement the Best Practise in the existing system, so we have to install a new system on the correct support package and create transport requests from this system to the existing development system.
    Now we face the problem of overwriting existing code in the development system.
    Any one with any experience of similar problems?

      I am logged on client 000 with user "sap*". What could be the problem. I guess I am doing right when opting for "Determine remote HW key" in transaction "slicense"->goto.
    I get message "Only the administator is authorized to execute this action".
    What should I do?

    SAP* is not a real user.
    - start SU01
    - copy DDIC user to your user
    - logon with your user
    - start SLICENSE and import it

  • HTTP destination IED_100 does not exist (system , transaction SM59)

    Hi guys,
    When I try to send a xml file to WAS using ABAP Proxy I receive this error message: "HTTP destination IED_100 does not exist (system , transaction SM59)".
    I did a test connection in sm59 for http connections/R/3 systems and the messagem bellow is ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILDED.
    What could be wrong?

    <SAP:Stack>System not configured as Integration Engine</SAP:Stack>
    I have defined my business system IED_100 (WAS 6.40) like application system and the related integration server is XI. It’s correct?
    When I check the component monitoring > Integration Engines > Proxy runtime IED_100, this message is displayed:
    Unable to log on to system IED_100 in language en with user XIRWBUSER. But in WAS system (IED_100) I don’t have a user XIRWBUSER!!! I need to create it?
    Tell me if I’m correct: I don’t need any RFC adapter; I’m only need an XI adapter (http) to send the xml file to ABAP proxy (IED_100) and on IED_100 I need to activate XI message format service in SICF and create a RFC connection in SM59 to call XI integration server. This is already done!
    In sm59 I continue with ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED…

  • Reinstallation of Mac OS X on an existing system isn't working

    HELP! I have an IBook G4 system that already had Mac OSX on it when it was given to me. Unfortunately, the password was not provided, and I have no connection with the original owner to obtain it, so of course I can't get past the log in and am trying to reinstall Mac OSX in order to create my own log in information. I have all of the various disks needed for installation, software etc., and have been trying unsuccessfully to complete the installation. Each time I insert Installation disk 1, holding down the c-key until the apple appears, the screen freezes right at that point, and does nothing. It's as if it's trying to do something because the apple sort of shifts a little to the right, and two faint markings/dashes appear. I then have to manually hit the on/off button to turn the system off. Can anyone help me with this? Is there even a way to maybe erase the existing system, and try installing that way. I'm at my wits-end. This is my first Mac system, and it's very much different than my Windows systems that are pretty straight forward when doing installations, etc. Any help in this regard would be greatl appreciated.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    To erase, repair or install you need to be able to boot from an installer disk.
    The failure of the computer to boot could be because of a bad or dirty CD disk or a faulty optical reader. First I would try a different disk and see if it is read. If the optical reader is the problem you will need to either replace the reader, or else use an external Firewire CD/DVD reader. If the problem is the disk you should try buffing the disk. If that doesn't help, and the reader reads other disks, you might need a new installer disk.
    You did not say whether the computer, with system currently loaded, is able to boot from the internal HDD. If it can, then the problem lies elsewhere.
    Sometimes resetting the PRAM helps (from a cold start hold down Command + Option + P + R while you hit the power button. Wait for three chimes, then release and allow to boot.

    Hi Jan,
    If I understand correctly you are going to perform database migration activity in your present landscape. Firstly you have to contact SAP as well as one of the third party hardware vendor (who is going to provide certified HANA hardware). SAP will provide you all the license details.

    Is this 8MB "Boot" partition (formatted as FAT???) something you created when you partitioned this disk for the Windows XP installation, or is this an 8MB OEM partition that you've somehow assigned drive letter C: to?
    I wouldn't be surprised at all that your error message is being generated because thsi "BOOT" partition, labelled as drive C:, is only 8MB in size, and you can be absolutely positive that an 8MB partition is going to generate this error: "Setup was unable to use existing system partition because it does not contain the required free space."
    The correct answer really depends on whether that drive C: is the boot (sic) (the proper terminology is to call it the system partition) partition for the Windows XP installation. If it is, then you're going to have some repair work to do on your Windows XP installation first, so that you can free up that 8MB partition.
    In any event, I'm fairly certain that the solution is going to require the removal of that 8MB partition, as you've suggested in your most recent post.

    To conduct an AS-IS study in a client environment, following is one of the approaches:
    - First understand the operations of the business
    - Check the organisation structure / hierarchy levels of various users
    - Be ready with the questionnaires from ASAP methodology
    - Complete the questions / jot answers and arrive at the list of business transactions in vogue
    - Prepare process flows / visio diagrams for all existing transactions. It should be drwan in minutest detail /like who starts/ who approves / who rejects / who raises / what factors could affect and so on.
    - Based on all the processes, confirm with client if there are any new processes required.
    - Now start drafting the TO BE document / how the processes would be handled in SAP / highlight the differences / new features / advantages / new functionalities and so on.
    - Use flow charts / visios and so on

    Please help me with the following requirement:
    Requirement:
    Client want to introduce New Investment FS items into existing system to make reporting specific to countries.
    Expected change - Investment specific:
    All Activities (First consolidation, Increase in capital etc..) have only one item as default to collect data, however to make country reporting easy, client like to increase number of FS items. Hence we will have to introduce one more FS item in each level of activity and client wants to transfer some value from old FS items to New FS items.
    Concern - If client wants to transfer any value from old Investment Item to New investment FS item, How should we tackle in system ?
    Please share your thoughts on to achieve & advice me standard way if any.

    If you use Cons of Investments (COI) and the investments are read from the Additional Financial Data (AFD) then this change will be okay. The only thing that may arise are if the validations check the investments AFD compared to totals (selected in validation tasks). The validation errors will be corrected by changing the totals item to agree with the AFD.
    If you use totals for investments it may be necessary to include all items in the location of values, however I have never used totals for investments.

    Try deauthorizing the computer even if you haven't authorized it. If you've already authorized it, deauthorize it twice and then authorize it again.

  • K7N2-ILSR: adding S-ATA drive to existing system

    I have a system based on the K7N2-ILSR, Athlon 2500+, 2x160GB IDE Harddrives.
    Now I wanted to connect a S-ATA drive (with data on it) from a friend, but I can't get it to show under Windows XP Pro. I've installed the drivers for the Promise chipset and this is shown in the device manager. I understand that you have to create a "1 disk array" before the drive can be used but I can't afford to loose the data on it. Is there any possibility to connect the drive without having to format it?
