Ides with abap

Hi there,
I am installing sap IDES for R/3, netweaver. Is it only for functional stuff or we can also do development in IDES for ABAP and XI.
If yes, then what about the developer key or I will not require it. Please advise. Thanks.

Hi ,
I would like to add some of my observations
1. I checked in jcmon that SDM status is showing stopped.
2.I tried to start the SDM by executing the command StartServer.sh and got message that it was started successfully but in jcmon it is still showing as "stopped".
I am not sure whether the above problem is due to this.
Additionally, I would like to mention that my JDK version is 1.4.2_17 and platform is HP-UX11.31

Please let me know how can I reduce it / deletion of which files will not cause any harm?
2. There is space remaining in Database.So, no problem with it.

4. In jcmon also, the status is showing as stopped.

But it is not starting.The process is getting hanged.

But I could not change the value and so proceeded with the installation.Can this be a root cause? While installing ECC only with ABAP+JAVA , I did not find any problem but this time I am facing the problem.

N.B. I just now checked the file system size of my ECC6.0 installation with ABAP+JAVA which finished successfully.There also the device file system was full.So, it seems that this is not the problem.

here is one example I use from abap to call a web browser ITS solution with a project number, I guess you can adapt the it for your purpose?
 check <data>-pspid is not initial.
 concatenate gv_pfs_link
 'zpfs2?~okcode=PROJ_SEL&zpspid=<###>&sel_action=X'
 into lv_url.
 replace '<###>' with <data>-pspid into lv_url.
 condense lv_url no-gaps.

As a newbie I found "Web Dynpro for ABAP" to be confusing. Any ideas why its worded that way? Just curious.

declarative programming of all the navigation, ui, datadisplay and gathering, without
writing the code, but letting the code to be generated.
so it's a concept build for abap,

Interactive Form with ABAP DDIC Interface

I'm new on adobe interactive forms and I have some problems. I have a form with a abap dictionary based interface.
When I test my web dynpro application with the interactive form, it is not interactive. :-P
And yes the property "enabled" of the UI-Element is marked.
First I watched an e-Learning an build a web dynpro application with a from which has a interface based on xml.
I generated the inteface of the form from my context. It works fine.
But with a interface based on xml I dont't know how I can get a table on my PDF in the Adobe Lifecycle Designer.
So I searched snd n the forum and found a tutorial (InteractiveForm_and_Dynamic_Tables). Like in this tutorial I created a interface based on ABAP Dictionary and a form with a table. Then I choose this form on my UI-Element as templateSource and generate the context from the interface. But as i mentioned above, now the PDF isn't interactive.
Any idea?

You can create Interactive form with ABAP dictionay based interface. You need to add following code in method "WDDOMODIFYVIEW" of your view.

Problem during installation of EHP4 on IDES with preinstalled EHP3

I have a problem during installation of EHP4 on IDES with preinstalled EHP3(I got it with media sent last year in april).
Namely during PREP_EXTENSION/EHP_INCLUSION! phase i got error:
Severe error(s) occured in phase PREP_EXTENSION/EHP_INCLUSION!
Last error code set: Component 'WEBCUIF' not found
When checking components of ECC system I did not found 'WEBCUIF' component whereas in xml file (generated by SOLMAN) it exists. Which direction I should take. I am afraid to delete entries in xml file.

You need to download and install all requirements as selected by Solution Manager for EHP4, WEBCUIF is a required component. Do not delete any entries in the xml file.

SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4 installation with ABAP+JAVA stack

Hi,
I need to install SAP ECC6.0 EHP4 with ABAP+JAVA stack on windiws server 2008 with oracle.
I have read that for this, we need to install ECC 6.0 EHP4 ready and then upgrade to EHP4 using ehpi installer.
I have found the documents seperately for ABAP and JAVA stack and not for ABAP+JAVA.
I need clarifications on these.
1.Do we need to install ABAP and JAVA instances seperately with EHP4 and then upgrade(In that case I have to install both instances on single host)?
2.Should we give seperate <SID> for both instances and create seperate databases?
3.Hard disk requirement for this set up.(We have 150 GB including C drive)
4.Steps to perform after installing ECC6.0 EHP4 ready
5.Please send me the doc. if anyone has

         As veteran ABAPer you should go for WebDynproABAP .
         Now why ?
Point 1:
In my view WebDynpro ABAP and Wd Java are not same.
Basically WebDynpro ABAP and Java are two different webDynpro provided by NetWeaver Stack.
Basic conceptual base of WD ABAP and WD Java is same.I mean to say concepts like Context binding , node , elements , Layout both support are same.
But when you provide background functionality to your Web Screen then Java or ABAP come in to picture.Just take case , you want do some thing on click of some button then
1) in case of java may you will call some ejb or you will may write some java code on click.
2) but in case of WD ABAP you have to do same thing with ABAP classes . You will call some call or some method of some system defined class.
Ulimately point I want make
1) WD ABAP and WD java 's Base is same but you code in completely different way.
2) Purpose for which SAP came with two different WDynpro is different. Java can be used for developing quite sophistcated Web services.

Deleting Data Package with Abap - error in Abap statement

Hi,
I am trying to delete data with abap but my logic is not working and it failed with error message Error in an abap/4 statement when processing
requirement
- Delete data package when plant = INDIA
- Delete data package when Area = 01 OR Group = J001 in customer master data table.
Logic
Data: T_Data TYPE DATA_PACKAGE_STRUCTURE Occurs 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
data: lt_BI0_PCUSTOMER LIKE /BI0/PCUSTOMER OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
LOOP AT DATA_PACKAGE.
MOVE-CORRESPONDING DATA_PACKAGE TO T_DATA.
Refresh lt_BI0_PCUSTOMER.
select * from /BI0/PCUSTOMER into TABLE lt_BI0_PCUSTOMER
WHERE CUSTOMER = T_DATA-SOLD_TO.
Read table lt_BI0_PCUSTOMER WITH KEY CUSTOMER = T_DATA-SOLD_TO.
IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
LOOP AT lt_BI0_PCUSTOMER.
IF lt_BI0_PCUSTOMER-AREA= '01' or
lt_BI0_PCUSTOMER-GROUP = 'J001'.
DELETE T_DATA.
APPEND T_DATA.

* Delete data package when Plant EQ INDIA

Hi,
DELETE DATA_PACKAGE WHERE PLANT = 'INDIA'.
Above syntax for delete data from internal table
For deleting the database table write statement as follows
DELETE From DATA_PACKAGE WHERE PLANT = 'INDIA'
Your are missing the from keyword from statement.
What could i have understand, if it is your solution of Query.
Exactly you want to delete data from database table or internal table ?

Hi,
If you have a webservice ready with you then you can generate a proxy from SE80 and you can use that. You just have to create a port and assign to that generated proxy(CLASS) and you are good to go.
