Idiot needs help increasing speed of motion template "blizzard".

I need to overlay some snow over an existing shot done on exterior location with snow machines.
I've found the "blizzard" setup in motion and, since I really don't know motion at all, I want to ask if a kind expert out there can help me simply on how to speed it up, so that the snow falls/moves faster.
Please understand that I can't learn "Motion" in order to do this one effect and I'd appreciate it if you guys and gals would not berate me for being so lazy as to ask for your help on this one issue.

My requirement is I have to do some addition changes to the

Addition Requirement:
In this the modification I have to do is adding to the above
functionality, I have to send work item to another two person

will open QM03.
Kindly let me know which task is calling QM02 and hw resolution
owner name is determined?
I have to found one task TS24500068 in which there is a rule
AC00000172 which determine resolution owner name from notification
this is using a standard function module whose import and export

Do I have a virus/malware problem? Idiot needs help

Hello, Received an email from 'Royal Mail Global' saying that they had failed in delivering a package and to open the attached '.zip' file. Without thinking, I opened the file- it didn't launch anything. I realise this is incredibly stupid and I am mortified. However, I am now concerned that I have a virus, malware, etc. As I am a computer idiot: how do I check if a virus is on the system or a malware programme is stealing all my details? People say "you'll be ok, Mac's don't get virsus" but how do you know? I have encountered no issues, as yet.... I run OS X and have a mac mini. Please help- will be eternally grateful. First of all, your Lion OS would have notified you if that was anything currently known to be dangerous. If it was malware it was almost certainly designed for Windows and of no consequence to OS X. If you are certain that the email is spam/junk/hoax then use the delete button in your e-mail client to get rid of it. Check the trash folder and delete it from there, if necessary. If this is a Gmail account, let me know as there may be one more step.
When you say you opended the file, I assume you used an open button or double-clicked the attachment symbol? And then it didn't launch anything, but it should have launch the Archive Utility to unzip the attachment. Did that not happen? Did you see anything after you "opened it"?
Even if it was unzipped, sitting in an attachment folder somewhere and is malware, it won't do anything at all until you attempt to open it. And as I said previously, it's almost certainly for Windows users, anyway.
If you followed the suggestion to use ClamXav (or any other A-V software), there are some special considerations regarding e-mail. Here are my standard cautions:
Never use ClamXav (or any other A-V software) to move (quarantine) or delete e-mail. It will corrupt the mailbox index which could cause loss of other e-mail and other issues with functions such as searching. It may also leave the original e-mail on your ISP's e-mail server and will be re-downloaded to your hard drive the next time you check for new mail.
So, if you choose to "Scan e-mail content for malware and phishing" in the General Preferences, make sure you do not elect to either Quarantine or Delete infected files.
When possibly infected e-mail files are found:
Right-click/Control-click on either the infection or file name in the ClamXav window.
Select "Reveal In Finder" from the pop-up menu.
When the window opens, double-click on the file to open the message in your e-mail client application.
Read the message and if you agree that it is junk/spam/phishing then use the e-mail client's delete button to delete it (this is especially important when the word "Heuristics" appears in the infection name).
If you disagree and choose to retain the message, return to ClamXav and choose "Exclude From Future Scans" from the pop-up menu.
If this is a g-mail account and those messages continue to show up after you have deleted them in the above manner, you may need to log in to webmail using your browser, go to the "All Mail" folder, find the message(s) and use the delete button there to permanently delete them from the server.

Need help with Adobe Connect Pro templates

Hi Everyone -
I'm working with a colleague to help her prepare a few webinars. I originally created a series of meetings for her, but she wants to use customized templates. Apparently, you cannot apply a customized template to an existing meeting; you need to select the template when you create the meeting.
My colleague reports the following:
I deleted the webinars you created in Adobe Connect so that I could re-create them with my new meeting template.
I saved the my meeting template first in "My Templates" and tried creating the meetings, but was unsuccessful at using the template. Then I tried creating the meetings with my template in "Shared templates." Still no luck.
No matter what I do, once the meeting is set up (having selected the my meeting template) and I enter the meeting room, I just get blank space and this message:
"The template you are looking at is the one we use if the default template feature is not working."
I then emailed support at Clarix and got the following, fairly unhelpful advice:
What we are assuming is a template was deleted. Now, the way templates work: There are default ones, used to create a meeting. If you use that meeting to create a template, the new template in fact relies on the previous existing template. So, you are winding up with a chicken and the egg scenario – it doesn’t know where to begin.
So, best practice – never delete a template – any template that was created based on the original will not work.
This doesn't seem to be a solution to a problem, and since I'm new to working with templates in ACP, I am wondering if anyone else out there has any advice.

In order to use a meeting as a template you have to move that particular meeting into shared Template folder and then while creating any new meeting you will get an option to use that meeting as a Template for your New meeting. Also please revert with some more details so that we can look into that matter more clearly.

Need help with speed remapping

So here is my question. (check pic below to see timeline)
I'm working on a timeline and I have a clip somewhere in the middle of this timeline. Now I've put the two markers which close off the area of the clip that I want in slow-motion. And then I drag the rubberband now to 50%. This causes the clip to obviously become longer.
But the problem is that it doesn't push the clip that comes afterwards, it just sort of submerges and I lose a part of the clip that I put into slow-mo.

So my question is how can I make it so that the clip after is pushed forward automatically?
I know how to fix this problem with some dragging and pulling, but I want to become as efficient as I can and don't get into any bad habits.

If all you want to do is simply slow down or speed up a clip, use the Speed/Duration settings--it's probably the simplest way to induce a speed change. This is a constant speed change, which you can also do with Time Remapping--which is what I think you've been doing.
The benefit of Time Remapping is that it allows for variable speed changes within a single instance of a clip. Say for example you want your clip to start at 100% speed, slow down immediately to 25%, and then speed up immediately to 200%. You can do this with Speed/Duration, simply by razoring the clip at the specific points where you want the speed change to occur, and then altering the Speed/Duration setting for that instance of the clip. With Time Remapping, not only can you do this without having to chop up the clip, but you can also create "ramps" from one speed to another--hence the variable speed aspect. You can even freeze a clip or reverse it, all without editing the clip into smaller pieces. This can result in a much smoother effect, but it might not always be what you're after. Time Remapping does have a bit of a learning curve, but it really is the more powerful option of the two. You just have to decide which is better for your purposes.
An additional benefit, and I might be wrong on this, but I believe that using the Time Remapping function results in (theoretically) a higher quality speed change effect due to a different algorithm or some-such. It uses some different techniques to generate the interpolated frames created in a speed change, that should look smoother than if they were done with the Speed/Duration command.

Need help increasing throughput

My application is a message processing system. I needs a tranasaction througput of 10000 msgs/sec. Now since I also needed the durability of data, I decided to go ahead with TDS in bdb. I am facing couple of problems. I start off with giving you a background of the environmental and db settings I am using.
DbEnv has been opened (along with all the vanilla options for txn opening) with AUTO_COMMIT.
DBENV->cache size has been set to 5mb
DBENV->logbuffer size has been set to 2mb
(the above 2 in DB_CONFIG file)
DB has been opened with AUTO_COMMIT and DB_NODUP (doesn't enternatin any dupe msgs)
1. I need to write each msg that comes as input into the db for future reference. That means since my input data is coming to me at 10000 msgs/sec I am doing a DB->put and hence a txn commit ( I am currently using autocommit flag) 15000 times a sec. And as a consequence of the commit, I am flushing logs to the disk 15000 times in a sec and thats like huge huge performance penalty. This gave me a msg rate of 350 msgs/sec
2. I tried to resolve pt 1 by using non durable txn with the help of DB_TXN_NO_SYNC flag. This has helped a lot in increasing the throughput which is nice. Its now upto 5500 msgs/sec. Though not any way near to my requirement but a definite indication that its the right direction. But I do need to ensure relative durabilitiy. We can afford to lose 1 sec of data but nothing more.
3. I tried to resolve pt 2 by calling memp_sync() and log_flush() every sec in an independent thread. Now this is not working as i hoped. Whats happenign is that though the DB is now unable to find the msgs that I have entered before (I am using DB->get) method. Am I going wrong somewhere? Also I need to know what does logs_flush actually do, does it flush the log buffer onto the log files on disk? Does it take care that if we are using that log buffer for reads or something, meaning its active, does it wait? What happens if there is a crash while my thread is using the logs_flush method ? would log files get corrupted ?
4. What would be your suggestion in terms of incresing my thoruhgput? How can I use memp_trickle ? Would that be more appropriate here?

environment before opening it? From your description
and the stack trace, it looks like the slow startup
is caused by page faults in shared regions.
You are correct. Once I set the DB_REGION_INIT flag, the opening rush of data is handled like a charm. Our app has stopped queuing at the onset.
On the issue of calling time(3), I haven't struck
this before. Short of editing the source code (in
txn/txn.c) by hand, there is no easy way to avoid
those calls. Out of interest, how many time() calls
can you make in a second on your box?The system call profiler shows ( glance on hpux) that time is being called on an average 3500 times a sec, in fact its proportional the msgs/sec we are flowing which is at these rates 2500 msgs/sec. But since we cannot do much abotu it, I am goign to ignore the same for a while.
I wanted to explain the second bottleneck we are facing:
Whats happening is that once we start a process, we keep increasing the msg rate uptill 2000. Between 2000 - 2500 msgs/sec, I see that the performance starts deteriorating and our application starts queing. Such that even if we reduce the msg rates to 2000 msg/sec, the application keeps on queing. Allow me to inform you that no system limit has been hit at this point, cpu is available, memory is available. IO is bad though. . Call stack at this point showed us these results occasionally:

The question is 1. Why is a Db->get ( a read call ) calling a fsync - a flush of the os buffers??? now thats a huge performance hit right there.
2. Why Db->put is callnig a fsync since I have set the dbenv->DB_txn_no_sync. These statements seem to counter each other?
At this time on the system there is hardly any cpu pressure, nor memory pressure and once again our main thread starts getting blocked on system calls. Sometimes as high as 30%. On further observation also noted that at this time the disk utilization of the app more than doubles. From around 20% - 56-45 %, it continues to remain in this state throughout the testing then and hence the performance goes down horribly.
msg processing is not smooth, sometimes app is able to process 1400 msgs./sec, the very next update(interval 3 secs), its processinga rate of 2400 msg.sec,. The db configuration highlights ares as follows:
DB_NO_TXN_SYNC, DB_REGION_INIT, DB_THREAD have been set along with the necessary flags for opening a transaction environment. Currently txn_checkpoint is being run every 5 secs. I am not using memp_sync || memp_tricle cos I figured that every 5 seconds ckpting thread would do the same thing. Cache is set at 32 mb, log buffer size is set at 8mb. page size at 32k (fs block siz 8k). Currently acording to db_stat -m am getting a 99%page hit. I have 2 dbs. Record size that would get written / msg is 100 bytes for db 1 and 50 bytes / msg for db2 respectively.
Am i doing something incorrect, which is causing this sort of a performance degradation. The ques seem to go up and then come down and the cycle repeats.
Moreso i have these general queries all linked to trying to solve or get an alternative soln to the above mentioned problems
1. How can I find out the log record size on ech txn commit? This will help me to tune ckpting more finely? maybe based on size rather on time.
2. You suggested in your first reply to me that I may use DB_TXN_WRITE_NOSYNC, my understanding of this flag is that it will write the dirty pages to the system cahce buffer immediately and it does not flush the logs. So if I do have a log buffer of 8mb it will not flush as long as the 8 mb doesnt get fully filled up with log records. So I surely may have to reconfigure the same. So definitely i need to have an answer for query no 1. (size of log recs). so lets say 512k which means every 1000 msgs the log buffer would get filled up and it would flush. This may not be in sync with when the os flushes the dirty pages from its cache to disk. Would it create recoverability problems. After having done all that we still need to run the ckpt thread to ensure low recoverability time in case of crash. Is my understanding of this process correct.
3. If we have 2 db, each ahving different sizes of key-data paireach of these dbs would have their own alloted set of pages, so when we decide the cache size its applicable to all db under that environment correct? So that means it would be equally divided or how would the memory management take place?

I want the text to scroll ACROSS the screen, on entry to the site, across one of the stripes on the flag. Every tutorial I have found tells you how to add scrolling text in the box, like paragraphs. I just want one line, a Welcome Message, if you will, that goes across the screen. I was able to do this in DHTML previously, but Flash is a whole new ball game for me.

Idiot needs help! Setup Home Oracle Linux Server

I'm trying to setup a Linux server using an old PC. I can download Oracle Linux in a zipped file from Oracle. Then, I'm suppose to unzip using an Oracle supplied utility and burn the extracted files to a DVD. My client PC is running Vista Home. I'm a little confused on how I unzip the "Linux" files and burn them to a DVD. I would think this should all be done in a Linux environment/(or on a Linux box) - this is what I'm trying to setup. How do I get the ISO IMG files extracted and burned for a Linux boot cd? If it sounds like I don't know what I'm talking about, you're right - I don't.

Most PC's come with DVD/CD authoring software installed, like Nero or MagicISO maker, etc. What software do you have available? There is plenty of information available in Google about how to burn an iso image to dvd. Or you could check http://www.wikihow.com/Burn-ISO-Files-to-DVD. Whatever you choose, make sure to burn the raw ISO image and NOT the disk of the "mounted" .ISO image. I would also recommend 7-zip to unzip the downloaded files.
In case you are installing this for educational or development purpose and your PC has at least 4 GB of RAM you may consider to use free Oracle VirutalBox from http://www.virtualbox.org. It can boot and use saved .iso files without the need to burn media. This option will not jeopardize your Windows installation and allow you to run Linux as a Guest OS under your current Windows OS, when you need it. Don't fumble around with old fashioned dual-boot options - it's better to get some more cheap RAM and bigger disk if necessary. There are also pre-build virtual machines available at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/community/developer-vm/index.html

Need help for Lightroom Print&Web Templates

I have just downloaded/installed my official Lightroom version (Mac OSX 10.4) and I have realized that there is no Print nor Web Templates accessible in the Template Browser section. I think I have done a mistake since I have erased completely the files from the beta4 version (including obviously the libraires containing those templates) before installing the official Lightroom V1.
Can anybody tell me where/how to get those original Adobe Templates files again. I have tried to re-install several times the V1 version but it does not help. Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Newbie Needs Help Modifying colors in Flash Template

and i need to change the animated logo's color in the left from green to blue. I have never done anything in flash before, this is the first time i've used the program, but so far i was able to figure out how to change the navigation and bar color and the text. but i can't seem to see where the color of this logo is coming from...

In screentshot 1 you can see that the Logo_Anim is made up of the Logo_1 - Logo_5 movie clips. Each of the logo_# clips is a piece of the logo. I'm not sure if something in the Logo_Anim is controlling the change in color of each piece of the logo, but it doesn't seem like the indiviual logo_#'s have any kind of setting...
I'm all sorts of confused... hopefully i have given enough information that someone can tell where this setting would be....

I'm sorry, i don't see anything...
the logo's five pieces are seperated into 5 movie clips. There is only one base image which is the entire logo in black which is not something that can be edited in flash, but updated with a new file... in the second screenshot you can see what it looks like when i select each movie clip of each piece of the logo. They are just one frame and they are black There are two layers, neither are green or showing can be changed with paintbucket, and say nothing in the properties.
In the logo_admin it shows each of the five pieces and whatever is making it green seems to be appearing somewhere in here, but i don't know where to look. I see nothing in properties or color...

Broadband upgrade, need help with speed please

Hi all,
I recently upgraded from a very old broadband package with an old router from the 1960's to the 'upto 20meg' service, with the bloke on the phone advising we should receive about 17meg as we are close to the exchange (Worcester Park, Surrey). So when the new kit arrived the speed jumped from 2megs to about 4ish and it's now settled on about 5 after 10 days.
I've posted the stats below as i'm after some advice really because I can't make sense of it. Am I missing something here or should I be getting faster speeds?

You appear to have a stable connection however your connection speed is low for your line attenuation are you connected to the master socket ? Or an extension if you can connect to the test socket Located at the rear of the removable front plate of the master socket and recheck the hub stats and speedtest this wil eliminate any faults with your internal wiring also are you connecting the hub to your pc by wireless or ethernet cable if wireless could you try connecting by cable and again post the speed test results this will eliminate any speed losses due to wireless interference Please try these first then we can advise further

I need help increasing the stack/heap size of my JVM

I am currently trying to run a recursive quick sort program to sort a reverse sorted array of 60,000. I realize this takes up a lot of memory and may not be the most efficient form of quick sort but I need to get some information from this program run. Everytime i try to run the program I get a stack overflow error. From what I have read on these forums this is due to an inadequate stack/heap. I have read that you just type a line of code in when you start up your JVM to increase the stack/heap but how exactly do you do this? Could someone give me a step by step process? I am new at this so the more details the better. Thanks!
