Idiot WebDAV message

Please prevent me from shooting my iMac. I keep getting a popup window saying, "WebDAV file system authentication. Enter user name and password to access the URL site" at my iDisk. But it keeps telling me my user name and password are invalid, even though they aren't. I literally cannot get this stupid thing off my screen now. Any ideas? Thanks!.....macquest

  • Error 101215 on some WebDAV messages

    Hello all,
We are sometimes receiving a BEA-101215 error message when trying to send a PROPPATCH WebDAV message to our WebLogic 8.1 SP5 server.
The error only seems to occur when the body of the PROPPATCH message is large: just changing the length of a text string in the message would make a previously valid message go bad...
Does anyone have a solution for this? Would upgrading to a newer WebLogic server fix this issue?
I should add that the overall message body is still rather small, in the order of 1 to 2K...
We also have the same issue when PROPFIND messages are being used.
We never have this on regular HTTP messages like PUT, this only happens on WebDAV or WebDAV/DeltaV messages like PROPPATCH, PROPFIND, REPORT...
              Thanks,

You can't edit or print the photo because
    1. iPhoto can't find it
    because
    2. You imported it from another volume while in Referenced Mode
So, iPhoto is saying if you want to use the picture give it the volume with the photo on it.

  • WebDAV message

I also am getting a webDAV file system authentication message sporadically that i can't get rid of. I have shut down and/or restarted my computer and run repair permissions and those steps seemed to work for awhile, but now it's back. I don't have the install disk to run repair disk. Where did this come from? Thanks.

I don't have the install disk to run repair disk.
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), this will secretly run a Disk Repair while Gray Radian is spinning.

  • CS2 Invalid serial number message

I just purchased a new computer. I am trying to install the CS2 premium on the new system, which replaces use of my old system entirely. When I attempt to enter the serial number, I get a message saying it is invalid. I am the only user and this is the only computer I will be using this software on.
Please advise on what I should do to install/activate this software.

Oh, boy...thank you all so much for this solution. It worked for me too...on Win7.
I bought CS2 shortly before Vista came out, intending to use it on my XP desktop.  Poor thing died before I got it installed and it was several weeks before I could afford to replace it. When I did, there was no way to even buy something that wasn't Vista...which pissed me off at Microsoft.  Then I found out that CS2 wouldn't play nice with Vista and fraking Adobe KNEW it and refused to support it. REALLY?
I bought this program for A CRAPLOAD of money...for me, anyhow...BOUGHT, not hacked.  I expected support.  I got jack.
Then Win7 came out and I was finding that some of my older software was able to run just fine on it.  I thought I'd give the stupid CS2 that I had paid a bucketful of money for and never gotten to use once a try on it.  Only to come up with this idiotic error message. The support guy said the usual, "Old product, not tested, isn't supported, blah, blah, blah."  But oh, hey, I still have an activation left on it! Oh, joy! Since I have never used the fraking thing, I would hope so!
I would like to beat Microsoft, then Adobe and then Microsoft again...til both of them exsanguinate.  Jerks. Nothing but bullies. They both need their arses whooped.  Bah. Better yet...they both need to be sued for selling software and operating systems that don't play together.
BUT!  Thank you to you folks who are out there helping for free. Go figure. The "support" guy coulda told me this, but he had to stick to the company line of NONsupport.

  • Reset ipad2, now keep getting iCloud box requesting password--but won't accept!  How to solve?

I have an ipad2 that was displaying about 20 greyed out app icons.  It took awhile (and User Manual was no help), but I finally concluded that these apps could not update--which was why I woulld see the caption change to "Waiting" under them when pressed.  Thought I should try to Reset all settings (not data) under the General tab, see if that would allow them to update.  Seemed to work, since all greyed icons disappeared.  But next time I turned on the iPad, I got an iCloud box, showing my email, asking for Apple password.  Typed it in, and it would not accept.  After several tries, got a "If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it" message, with "Reset" and "Okay" choices.  NEITHER worked.  Nor would trying to enter about a dozen other passwords that I commonly use.  Finally went to support, changed my password--which works on this Compaq laptop, and got me into this account.  But the new password also will not work for iCloud.  Nothing I can do seems to have any effect on the iPad, but when the cable is connected to this laptop, I do get the two-tone sound indicating plug in, disconnect.  Does ANYone have any suggestions as to how I can get rid of this idiotic iCloud message?  (If so, I will probably take the app OFF my iPad, just use it for Android phone, laptop, and desktop.  This is RIDICULOUS--and Apple should be addressing it.  (I seem to see other questions that are sort of the same.)
Please respond ASAP--need to take this iPad from Jackson Hole to Austin for three-day reunion on Wednesday, show some old pix on it!

There isn''t a "key" for "I forgot the password" to your wifi.  If you didn't set the wifi password on your router, it may be printed on a label on the back or side of your router.
If you are entering the correct password, but it is not being saved, unplug your router for 15 seconds, then plug it back in, the on your phone go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Reset Network Settings, then try joining your wifi again and see if the password is saved now.

  • Activation Server Unavailable for Acrobat 7.... Need Acrobat 7 Professional

Only Standard is listed here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/index.html
Where can I get Acrobat 7 Professional???

This works.  Adobe needs to put the comment on their website to use Acrobat Pro 8 since there is no mention of Acrobat Pro 7 - I am sure a lot of people are calling them wanting to know where the Acrobat Pro 7 version is!
After putting up with that idiotic activation message over and over for the past few years, it will be nice to be rid of it forever.
I was concerned that the ORGANIZER feature may have been missing in Ver 8 Pro but it is thankfully still there.

  • E71-1: get back factory state applications? + ques...

E71-1 bought in Bangkok on Monday Sep 8, 2008.
    1) I searched the forums but didn't find answers about whether a hard reset (turn on the phone + "call", "3" and "*" until the Nokia screens comes on) would restore the original applications which came in the phone.
Specifically Dictionary and Windows Live Messenger.
    2) Also, do you guys install Themes on the phone memory or the MicroSD?
    3) I turned-off the warning tones in the profile I am currently using but unlike for some other users, this trick didn't silence the camera shutter sound.
    4) In offline mode (when no SIM card is inserted), Radio insists on using only cellular-based data connections to get a list of stations. Visual Radio is turned off and set to not start at launch.
So, Radio won't launch, wants a data connection first but my WLAN isn't listed in the settings for me to choose. Any way to force it to use the WLAN as opposed to the cellular connection?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Message Edited by 12v9v on 11-Sep-2008 06:57 PM

Well, for 1), I could not wait for a response on here and did a hard reset. It does not restore the phone to the exact way it was when I took it out of the box.
Settings and all that are wiped out, wizard runs when the phone is turned on for the first time but the contents of the Installations folder are not restored to their original state.
SO, the way to restore the applications it seems was not to do a Hard Reset but to go the Menu > Download! That folder didn't do anything for me two days ago because I didn't have a SIM card inserted unlike yesterday when I tried again and it worked .
    2) It seems to be best to install themes on the phone itself as opposed to the memory card: simple anecdotal evidence for these forums and others I have browsed for this question.
    3) No way to turn off the camera shutter sound. Stupid Nokia!
    4) the Hard Reset seems to have cleared this problem. Now Radio launches fine.
I don't think S60 is much more impressive than WM as far as I can tell. They both feel the same way. The OS gets in your way all the time, one way or another: the look, the UI, functions, it's just disappointing.
    Stupid Nokia:
Nokia is using S60 the way other OEMs are using WM. They have no attention whatsoever for the details.
Another example: the Camera doesn't remember user settings from one launch to the next. It also doesn't focus by itself either, one must press T to get it to focus. And picture quality is not so good.
An unnecessary menu level in Tools > Settings > General > select General, you then get the contents of the General folder contents and the tabbed arrangement on the top right which should be offered right after Tools > Settings > General
The appearance of the icons rivals $25 phones menus I have seen. The E71 right out of the box has a very outdated icons and menu design.
The e-mail app is ridiculous: isn't the E Series a so called business-dedicated line of models? Idiots.

  • Mac Mini 2010 Aluminum Temperatures and Overheating

I shut down my 2010 Mac mini right before going to bed. In the morning, I noticed that the Mini did not completely shut down. It was stuck on an all blue screen. I had to force quit and restart.
When I restarted I noticed that the temps were VERY high. I wonder if the Mini can still shut it self down when it is stuck on the last blue screen before it turns off?
    Second:
The Mac was vey hot when I touched it. I felt like it needed to be cooled down.
I took an all aluminum pot from the kitchen that has a very thick very flat and smooth bottom, filled it with crushed ice and felt the bottom. WOW was it cold. So, I placed the pot on top of the mini. In about 2 minutes I got:
    Ambient Air 22ºC
    CPU A Heatsink 30ºC
    CPU A Proximity 28ºC
    CPU A Temperature Diode 32ºC
    CPU Core 1 32ºC
    CPU Core 2 30ºC
    Hard Drive Bay 1 21ºC
    Main Logic Board 28ºC
    Memory Bank A Point 1 26ºC
    Northbrldge Chip 30ºC
    Northbrldge Chip 34ºC
    Northbrldge Position 1 51ºC
    Opilcal Drive 19ºC
Has anyone tried that before? Or am I the only idiot?

Knowing you can set your TV to 1:1 pixel mapping is a huge step in the right direction, and should allow you to avoid issues of the image going beyond the edges of your screen. You should not experience a blurry image overall with that setting, but you may have to do some adjusting to get fonts to look acceptable on your TV. If your primary use will be with Plex however, this may not be a concern at all.

  • ITunes bug or Big Brother in my Mac?

I already wrote that iTunes 10.5 connects to Internet without any reason (iTunes store is disabled in parental settings).
Now, wiht 10.5.1 Apple has gone further - if connection is denied, colourful (note-not full gray, but bright red!!) error message appears saying that iTunes could not connect to iTunes Store (note - store is disabled!!).
Well, I could almost understand Apple, sure if I am using Little Snitch to disable iTunes accessing Internet, they cannot steal my personal info as easy as they would like, and in anger are trying to attack me with idiotic error message.
But there is something more to that. This same error message appears if there is no Internet connection at all - LAN cable unplugged and WiFi disabled! Note again - iTunes store is disabled!
    What is going on?

found a potenital fix (that I think would work if I could understand how to do what they are telling me to do) it said to configure webdav sharing for active directory accounts...tried to follow the instructions...could not understand them (very techy instructions).

  • When i try to copy a file to my ipad via webdav, i get an error occurred message

I currently use a Mac Mini running Maverick and server.  I have WebDAV set up I believe correctly.  I have iWork on my iPad.  I can log in and authenticate to the server and actually see the files that I have shared on the Mac server.  When I try to retrieve it I get the following:  An error occurred
Same is true if I create on the iPad and try to copy to the shared directory.  Im not exactly sure what direction to take as the message is so vague.  Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated.
    Thx

That sounds like a problem with the user the iPad is connecting as
I seem to remember iOS pages, keynote etc storing the user login info, and having to completely remove the stored login info from the device
if a different user wanted to use a device another user had connected to WebDAV, or password changes.
Quite a while since I looked at this, things may have changed with latest ios pages versions
Unfortunately I can't remember how to remove the stored user login info
Try comparing the server logs when you connect with the windows box and the iPad
There are WebDAV file browsing apps in the App Store, try one of those on the iPad
If you can connect with it, it's probably pages etc storing a user login with an error in it
if not perhaps it's a network problem vlan segregation, firewall, subnet etc etc

  • IDisk WebDAV error message - how do I get rid of this?

Years ago, I used to have an iDisk account. The iDisk link is still on my desktop. Starting 2 days ago, I keep getting this error:
    "WebDAV File System Authentification
Enter your user name and password to access the server at the URL "http://idisk.mac.com/kristinamc_tda/" in the realm "idisk.mac.com."
My only options are to cancel and save. I press cancel and the message comes right back, so I cancel again and it stays gone for about 20-30 minutes. I have no idea how to get rid of this or why it started doing this. Since the account doesn't technically exist, I'm thinking that the password will never be correct - I've tried entering what I thought was the password, but it never accepts it. I have tried to see if removing the iDisk link on my desktop would make it stop, but I cannot get rid of it. I am trying to write a paper and this annoying error is about to make me freak out. Does anyone have any idea what I should do to fix this?
    Kristina

You may also want to open Keychain Access in Applications/Utilities and delete any referrence to the earlier name.
I would send yourself an Email with the info in to keep a permanent record in case you ever decide to activate that name again.
A lapsed @mac.com name can be used in iChat for free so you may not want to go this far.

  • WebDAV File message constantly popping up

About every 3-5 minutes-twice in a row, if I hit cancel the first time- a message that says "webDAV File System Authentication" pops up and wants me to type in my username and password to access the server @URL http://idisk.mac.com in the realm idisk.mac.com (the username is already in the box). I don't know what this means and when I do type in my password, it responds telling me it's not the right username or password. Please help, it is driving me nuts!

  • Sent messages are gone (you can call me an idiot)

I installed extra RAM in my iBook G4 about 2 weeks ago. Since then everything has sort of been acting up, especially Mail, Safari, and Photoshop, as they quit frequently.
But my obvious main concern here is Mail. I looked up other user forums on the Internet and found that if you delete your .plist mail file that it would help with this problem. I did it for Safari first and it seemed to help, so I then did it for Mail. I deleted the .plist, restarted, and was in shock when I opened my Mail to see everything gone.
Now, I realize this is a lame mistake. However, I figured out how to restore my messages, preferences, etc. I have been working fine until tonight when I tried to access previous sent messages. Instead of showing the message, there is an error message that reads:
"The message from Nancy Randle <[email protected]> concerning “Re: a favor” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."
The only thing I can think of is that it has reverted to the new account I created to archive saved messages. Is there a way for me to revert back? Is there a way to find these messages? I have tried to find them in my Library, but with no luck.
My biggest concern is with my sent messages, but if anyone has any advice on the RAM install, that would be (OH!) so helpful.
    Anything would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Nancy

    Hi Nancyjo
did you backup the home/library/mail folder before you trashed the .plist ?
If you did - the old messages can be recovered.
If not - & you've searched the mail folder in vain for your sent messages - then short of some data recovery software - they're gone.
But the new account you created - is it exactly the same ( mail server & user name ) as your old one? if not, your messages may still be available.
Look in home/library/mail/mailboxes for a folder that matches the old account details ( if a pop server it will be 'POP-your username@your mailserver')
If the folder is there - in addition to the folder for the new account you made - then you're probably in luck.
Make a copy of the whole mail folder first, & the mail.plist file.
In mail - Create a new account with exactly the same details as the one that vanished.
select the inbox or sent folder for the account you just made
    choose mail-mailbox-rebuild
If that doesn't do it, but you find the missing messages within the mail folder - they can still be recovered. Let us know how you get on.
if things go screwy while you do this - quit mail & in finder replace the mail folder & plist file with the backup copies you made before you started. start mail again & you should be back where you were.
Regarding the RAM - barring coincidences, it sounds like a ram problem. Double check that all the ram is physically located properly & try again. If you still have problems - remove the new ram. If the problems go away, the new ram is either faulty or incompatible.
