IDisk connection error (error code -5016)

Hi all
I have recently been unable to get to my iDisk and keep getting the following error:
Your iDisk is not available because connecting to the iDisk server failed.
An unexpected error occurred )error code - 5016).
Any ideas what this error is? We recently had a new Watchguard installed so I am wondering if that is somehow blocking access?
Hope some can help
Jordy

Hi,
Check to see if you can log into your mobilme account by re-logging system preferences.
Check this http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1298323. See if it helps.
You might want to disable watchgaurd for the time being and if that improves the situation.
If you really need to access idisk via finder, make a connection to the server with these details
https://idisk.mac.com/username. Enter in password and you should have your disk.

  • IDisk error code 5016

So, a few days ago I received my Snow Leopard software update cd and tried to install it.  My cd drive wouldn't take any discs.  It felt like there was a blockage on the right side (closest to the screen).  First, I removed the keyboard to make sure the cd drive was connected properly.  It was.  Then I googled some tips and decided to try and insert a blank cd.  I read that someone just "forced" a cd in to unblock the drive and then it worked fine.  Well, now there is a cd stuck in my drive and I can't get it out.  When I clicked on iDisc in the devices menu, the error message came up that said "Your iDisk is not available because connecting to the iDisk server failed".  And gave the error code 5016.  I haven't had any luck with googleing a solution and have already tried rebooting while holding down the option key and typing in codes in the Terminal.
Please help!  I just started a new job and need to update my system without paying someone to fix this first.  All suggestions welcome!

Thanks, I saw that thread the other day.  Unfortunately, it was of little help.  Here's some more info about my situation:
My macbook was originally owned by my sister and given to me a month ago.  After receiving it, I changed all of the names to reflect the new owner like the short name and all that jazz.  By doing so, I've now realized that I erased the saved info for the mobileme account and that was a mistake.  I am a new mac user and didn't realize the connection between the mobileme account and the idisk.  I have since tried, with my sister's help, to log back into the mobileme with no luck and obviously cannot create my own.  I have an iphone and through that an icloud account, but can't update my macbook to icloud without first inserting the software update cd I have... which I cannot seem to do since my idisk isn't working.  Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Heart beat could not open connection, error code 110

Hi, where can I find error codes for NFR and NSM?
I have problems with some agents connecting to the engine:
2/17/2010 16:02:55 EngineInterface: Heart beat could not open connection, error code 110
Both engine and agent runs on the same server (10.236.19.147):

Another OES2 server connects fine to the engine, butI have a Netware agent, which also fails to connect:

    NFR is 1.0.0
    Thanks for any input.

Hi Istvan! Sorry for the delay in our response! we are in the process
of building a list of error codes for everyone! in the meantime the 110
    means the following:
    // Couldn't create a new network interface
    #define CC_STATUS_CCS_CANT_CREATE 110
Is this an NSM integration installation?
    Also, remove the alternate hostname.
If you don't mind, let's move this support issue to
    filereporter"@"novell.com!
    Thank you!

  • The Network Adapter could not establish the connection Error Code: 17002

    Hi,
after upgrade b41 to b49, I get error from subject, without any changes in my app.
This occurs only on Oracle AS, on standalone OC4J application works OK.
I use connection defined in persistence.xml:
    <non-jta-data-source>jdbc/MyAppDS</non-jta-data-source>
and can successfully test this connection in Enterprise manager.
Also, I tried all tricks mentioned here:
    http://www.websina.com/bugzero/kb/oracle-connection.html
I know, that this is JDBC layer problem, but I am sure, that my connection is OK, and
after downgrade to b48 this problem fall away.

  • Mysql.sock - connection error (code 2002)

Performed a clean install of SL Server.
    Enabled Web and MySQL services.
When using GUI (SequelPro of MySQL GUI Tools) I get a mysql.sock connection error.
"Could not connect to MySQL instance at localhost. Error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) (code 2002)"
The database location of MySQL is /var/mysql. Thus a reference to /tmp/mysql.sock is obviously wrong.
The file /var/mysql/mysql.sock does exist but apparently no reference is made to this file.

It looks looks like the Sequel Pro app is guessing incorrectly that the mysql.sock is in /tmp. If that's the problem, you should be able to fix it by going to Sequel Pro's Connection panel and entering the correct path, which is /var/mysql/mysql.sock.

I suspect, if your second router is set-up to get a DHCP IP address, then the iChatAV ports the first router returns are going to the second router and not to your computer; more than likely. You might want to turn off DHCP and the firewall on the second router.
Here are my other notes I've collected over time..
The solution is highly configuration dependent on both ends of the Internet/video connection.
    1. In iChat preferences, make sure your Video -> bandwidth limit is set to "none".
    2. In iChat menu bar, Video -> Connection Doctor make sure that you do not have any error messages listed in the Show -> error log pull-down menu. If you do, then restart iChat to clear them.
    3. If you are using a cable or DSL modem with a router then either turn-on UPnP in the router or open ports in your router; but not both. If you hook your Mac directly to the modem, then you may want to open ports on your Mac firewall. The ports to open are:
    iChatAV ports:
    5060 UDP
    5190 Both, TCP and UDP
    5220 TCP
    5222 TCP
    5297 UDP
    5298 Both, TCP and UDP
    5353 UDP
    5678 UDP
    16384-16403 UDP
All iChat AV traffic is UDP except for ports 5190 and 5298, which need to be open for both TCP and UDP; and 5220 and 5222, which need to be open for TCP only.
    4. After you do all this, then shut-down everything (Modem, router, and Mac), then restart everything in sequence beginning with your modem (wait for it to come up), then the router (wait for it to come up), and then the Mac.
    5. Start iChatAV.
Note: Check with you broadband provider and ask if they are blocking any of the ports you want to use. I've heard some foreign telephone companies blocking ports to protect their infrastruicture, and the installed base of customers.

  • HELP error code 5016 iDisk

    Hi all
Does anyone know what I can do? I dont have a mobileme account cuz i don't have a credit card and its the only way you can get one. And the only help ive been given is to log out and then back into mobileme.
It has nothing to do with my internet because thats working fine, it just says that i can't access it for some reason. Ive logged in and out, restarted, shut down, none of it seems to be helping. Its really annoying me because I can't download anything at the moment.
    Help would be much appreciated..thanks!!
    Lauren

I had to go into the System Preferences and click on Mobile ME, then log out (if you're logged in) and then login again and I was able to get to my idrive just fine...

  • Idisc error code 5016

I have a macbook with operating system OSX 10.5.8 Getting error on iDisc could not be opened error 5016 what is this

  • Failed to open the connection: Error Code 17

    Here's an odd one.
    Environment:
    VB.NET Winform
    Visual Studio 2008
    .NET framework 2.0
    Crystal Reports 2008
    ODBC connection
I have three reports, living in the same directory. They are essentially identical, except for the grouping. All three run successfully within Crystal reports.
From a report viewer Winform in VS, two of the three run. As I am dealing with a small data set, the reports render quickly. On the third report, There is a long pause when the report viewer form opens, then I finally get an error:
    "Failed to open the connection.
    Details: [Database Vendor Code: 17]
    Failed to open the connection.
    CallReportByExtension 58F5C135-7BA3-4215-898A-DADA6C7DAD9C.rpt
    Details:[Database Vendor Code: 17]
I was initially getting similar errors on all three reports, before changing the datasource location to my ODBC connection. I have double-checked the location, verified the database, etc.
What am I doing wrong? I can provide the VB code if requested, but since the other two reports work properly, I doubt it's code. I do know that I am passing the report name and path correctly to the report viewer form.
As I am about to kick my monitor through the window and become a street denizen, I would greatly appreciate any help that would be offered.
    Thanks,
    Mike Beckner

Thanks for the reply. This code works...two of the three reports work.

I get this message whenever I try and download something of decent size. I rented Looper today, I got maybe half of it downloaded then got this message. I repeatedly tried to get the rest of the download to continue but nothing I tried worked. I also tried to download a TV show from the cloud that I already owned. Again I got part of it and then poof it stopped downloading and gave me the same error message. I am using Windows 8. I had no problem using the same internet connection and using my phone to download directly onto it but my PC keeps getting that error. Any ideas?

Perhaps try the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

  • Apple tv error code -3905

I'm trying to set up apple tv for first time and cannot get it to maintain network connection for more than a couple of seconds. Get error code -3905. Any clues??

    Hi,
First post on this forum. I've been pulling my hair out, searching google like a madman trying to find out how to get past the dreaded (-3905) connection error code. Finally i ran accross this post from a lady who turned off her mac address filtering on her router. She said it worked.
So i have a netgear router, i searched around and turned off the mac address filtering box and my apple tv connected to my network instantly. I went to advanced setup/ wireless settings/ wireless card access list and it shows all my home devices connected to the network. I then UNCHECKED the "turn access control" box. And tried my apple tv and boom!
I hope this helps you or anyone! I was ready to return this thing.

  • Pantech UML290, 2107 error code on Windows XP

I have a Pantech UML290 modem and I cannot connect to the Internet. Every time I try to connect I get an error popup indicating that there was an error connecting (error code 2107). I've uninstalled and reinstalled the VZAccess software several times with no luck. Just today I installed the same software on a different laptop sitting right next to the one I'm having the problem on and I had no problem establishing a connection and maintaining it for more than an hour. So it's not a UML290 modem or wireless network issue.
I actually originally had it working but the connection would drop every 3-5 minutes. I got frustrated and upgraded the firmware on the UML290 about a month ago. Ever since the firmware upgrade I can't even connect any more on this laptop.
Doing a Google search I've occasionally seen some possible conflicts between the VZAccess and Cisco VPN client software. I have several different Cisco VPN client applications installed but I need to leave them installed for work purposes. I also tried to put the VZAccess/modem into LAN mode using a separate utility but that didn't help.
    I'm running Windows XP SP3, VZAccess Manager version 7.7.1.5 (2703h), Pantech UML290, firmware L0290VWBB12F.248, hardware version REV_03.
Any suggestions? Any way that I can roll back the firmware upgrade on the modem?
    Thanks,
    Dave
