IDisk quota error

Hi Guys,
I recently bought a new Macbook, transfered my files, tried to update my iWeb account, & now I get this error message. I have tried every thing that I could from apple support, even a clean install saving the domain file & reinstalling it the iWeb folder in application support. Is there anything that I have missed, or should I wait on a fix from Apple? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
C

  • Idisk quota error with 1.1.2

i tried this as posted earlier, and it did not work
    Try this:
Navigate to your Domain file, found here:
    Home folder Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain
Control-click on the Domain file, and choose "Show Package Contents".
A new window titled Domain will appear, showing the contents of the package. Here you will see one file (or possibly two files) named "assets.[membername].groups.[groupname].plist" or "assets.[membername].plist" where [membername] and [groupname] correspond to your .Mac member name and .Mac Group name.
If you have either or both of these files, drag them to the Trash. Then close the Domain window. Open iWeb and try publishing again.

i did not have iweb in the App Support folder. any help would be great, thanks!

    Mongol,
If you have launched iWeb and are trying to publish from the application to .Mac, then a Domain file exists. Unless you have moved it, it lives in your Home Folder's Library. This is the path.
Don't confuse your main HD Library with the Home Folder Library.

  • Now i get "There was an error reading your iDisk quota."

I have updated to 1.1.1 and while I had issues with publishing to my .Mac account, I never had the problem that was supposed to be SOLVED with this, not CREATED - I now get the infamous "There was an error reading your iDisk quota."
Am I the only one? Any solution? Yes, I have reinstalled, yes, I have created a new site and copied the material. I am out of of options here.

I, too, was getting the fatal "error reading your iDisk quota message" and I tried everything I could think of and every suggestion I could soak up here in these forums.
What finally resolved the issue for me was to open the domain.sites package contents (by shift clicking on the file which is located in ~/Library/Applications Support/iWeb) and to delete not only the typical .plist files, but also the "assets.<membername>.groups.<groupname>.plist" file, and the "assets.<membername>.plist" file.
This recommendation came to me by way of Artie from the .Mac Support Team, to whom I am forever grateful! I hope this works for you, too!

  • Publish Error: There was an error reading your iDisk quota

While trying publish to my .Mac account, iWeb gives me this message: Publish Error: There was an error reading your iDisk quota.
I published earlier to a group and it worked. I even went to my .Mac/iDisk system preferences on the web and alocated more space for my group site.
    No Dice.
I just tried publishing to .Mac without the group.
    No dice.
I even tried ellimanting some pages
    No Dice.
Hmmm. Frustrating. It worked before, now what?

i followed these steps recommended by mac support and it solved my problem. try it.
We are currently investigating an issue affecting some users who receive an error message while trying to publish a page or site using iWeb. The error states: "There was an error reading your iDisk quota."
Before we proceed with the steps to resolve this issue, we recommend that you back up the iWeb data file. If you already have this file backed up, you may skip to "Resolving the issue" below.
To locate the iWeb data file:
    1. From the Finder menu bar, select Go > Go to Folder.
    2. Type (or copy and paste) ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb into the field and click Go. You should now see a file named Domain. This file may also appear as Domain.sites, but we will refer to it as Domain throughout these instructions.
If you have the Backup application that is included with .Mac, you can use this to back up the file to your iDisk, CD/DVD, or to an external hard disk.
Note: Though there is an iLife plan in Backup, it does not currently back up the files associated with iWeb. To back up iWeb files, you will need to use either the Custom or Home Folder plan.
If you do not have Backup, you can create a copy of the file and place the copy in a safe place. To duplicate the Domain file, click the file once to highlight it, then select Duplicate from the File menu. This will create a copy of the file named, "Domain copy." Move this file to the desktop or any other safe location.
    Resolving the issue:
    1. Quit iWeb if it is open.
    2. From the Finder menu bar, select Go > Go to Folder.
    3. Type (or copy and paste) ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb into the field and click Go. You should now see a file named Domain. This is a Mac OS X package file.
Note: A package is a relatively common type of document in Mac OS X; it is essentially a sealed folder. It contains individual items, but cannot be opened in the same manner as a folder.
    4. To open the package, hold down the Control key and click on the Domain package file.
Note: If you have a two-button mouse, this step can be accomplished by right-clicking the Domain package file.
    5. Select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu that appears.
    6. A new window titled Domain will appear showing the contents of the package. Here you will see one file (or possibly two files) named "assets.<membername>.groups.<groupname>.plist" or "assets.<membername>.plist" where <membername> and <groupname> correspond to your .Mac member name and .Mac Group name.
Note: Your .Mac member name is the first part of your .Mac email address, before "@mac.com."
    7. If you have either or both of these files, move them to the trash. Then close the Domain window.
    8. Open iWeb and try publishing again.

  • IDisk Sync Errors

Since installing Snow Leopard, I have two types of iDisk Sync Errors:
    1) It says a file was modified on Mobile Me and also modified on My Computer. This is simply untrue. I never use Mobile Me.
    2) It says the file cannot be synced because it is "in use" even when it is not in use and the application is actually closed.
I have used iDisk for 1 year before Snow Leopard and never experienced either of these problems.
    Is there a solution?

  • Mail user getting over quota error

One of my mail clients is getting an "Over Quota" error message in their mail client, however, all clients have been set up to have unlimited storage. What could cause this error, and what can I do to resolve it? I can get the error to go away temporarily by setting a quota size, then changing it back to unlimited, but this is not a permanent solution. Thank You.

    Thanks Miriam! This has helped.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts > select account
click on Advanced tab > tick box which says 'remove
copy from server after retrieving a message'.
I have a question about which box to tick after the one that says 'remove copy from server after retrieving a message' - is it necessary to keep it for any length of time, or should I just mark 'after one day'?
Also, were you able to retrieve the messages that bounced back? Did they ever make it to the server? If so, how do I find those?
    Thanks so much!

  • ORA-01740: missing quotes error when synchronizing mobilink

    Hi,
I'm getting a missing quotes error when synchronizing with mobilink.
    followed by
    [-10058] Unable to open download_delete_cursor
and the name of the table.
    and name of the script
    Script: {CALL "scriptversion".DOWNLOAD_DELETE_CURSOR_ABC (?, ?)}
How can I see what is causing this... I already checked the script for that table in the ml_scripts table.... nothing special there... the script looks exactly the same as in previous versions....
I'm assuming that it's the parameters that are creating the problem. but no idea on how to see them...
    any suggestions?
    thank you !

    Hi,
thanks for your tip. I just did that and get a LOT of logging.
Not sure if my employer would appreciate me sharing DB details in public.
In private messaging I could send it through, but i guess that wouldn't help others with the same issue..
i also changed the startup parameters to -vt -o
And this is the result that I get (I modified scriptpackage name and cursorname a litle bit):
I'm guessing that  : p1  and : p2 is incorrect as parameter....and the complaints come from there..
Also, this time I ran another publication and now it's complaining on the newly added table and not on that random old table I mentioned on my previous post.
PS. error message is in dutch since the server is in dutch, but it's the missing quotes issue.

  • "An error occurred in the idisk quota" - A fix.

    Hi all.
I am another one of us that has seen this error whilst publishing. Here is my fix, hopefully it will work for others:
Make a temporary folder. (I'll call it Temp and put it on the desktop)
Navigate to ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb and then copy the "Domain.sites" file to "Temp". (This is a precautionary backup that I did not use but felt safer having. The Domain.sites file contains all the information about your iWeb sites)
Navigate to ~/Library/Caches/ and move the "com.apple.iWeb cache" and "iWeb" folders to the "Temp" folder.
Now, mount your iDisk and navigate to /Web/Sites and then delete the entire "iWeb" folder and the "index.html" file. This operation may take a very long time to finish depending on how big your site(s) are - you may want to grab a coffee There should be no need to make a backup of this folder as all the information is contained in the "Domain.sites" file and the next stage will re-create this folder and its contents. (If you want to though, there is nothing stopping you from making a backup)
After they have been successfully deleted from your iDisk, open iWeb. Your sites should all load up as normal. Now, click on the File menu and then hold down the option ( ⌥ ) key. You should see the "Publish to .Mac" option change to a "Publish ALL to .Mac"
Still holding option, click "Publish ALL to .Mac". Now, all of your sites should start being republished and when finished your site should be successfully reinstated. (Once again, this may take a while so you might want to get another coffee
I hope that this solves the problem for others like it has for me. If all has gone well and your iWeb life is back to normal you can delete the "Temp" folder. (As I said - I never used the backups)
    Sam

  • IDisk WebDAV error message - how do I get rid of this?

Years ago, I used to have an iDisk account. The iDisk link is still on my desktop. Starting 2 days ago, I keep getting this error:
    "WebDAV File System Authentification
Enter your user name and password to access the server at the URL "http://idisk.mac.com/kristinamc_tda/" in the realm "idisk.mac.com."
My only options are to cancel and save. I press cancel and the message comes right back, so I cancel again and it stays gone for about 20-30 minutes. I have no idea how to get rid of this or why it started doing this. Since the account doesn't technically exist, I'm thinking that the password will never be correct - I've tried entering what I thought was the password, but it never accepts it. I have tried to see if removing the iDisk link on my desktop would make it stop, but I cannot get rid of it. I am trying to write a paper and this annoying error is about to make me freak out. Does anyone have any idea what I should do to fix this?
    Kristina

You may also want to open Keychain Access in Applications/Utilities and delete any referrence to the earlier name.
I would send yourself an Email with the info in to keep a permanent record in case you ever decide to activate that name again.
A lapsed @mac.com name can be used in iChat for free so you may not want to go this far.
