Idle Graphics on the 8800 series

Do the 8800 series (8811, 8841, 8861) phones support Idle Display, and are the specifications documented?
The manuals seem to indicate yes, but points to an article that is very old and doesn't seem like it should apply to new color LCD phones.

I am due to refresh my phone soon and am wondering if there is any definitive news on the next model in the 8800 series?
I currently have the Arte (8800e) and have had the Sirrocco (8800d) and the original 8800 in the past.

Opps - sorry about mentioning rumours, did not realise it was against the rules.
What I am looking for is a smartphone, primarily for push email and onscreen feed updates, with a similar form factor to the 8800 series.
What I like about the series is it's quality of build, materials (OLED screen), and slide form.
I'll hold out for a month or two and see if anything hits the market.
If only there was a way to put S60 on the Arte

8800 Series / Provider

First, I'm considering getting rid of my tiny Pearl and replacing it with an 8800 that is quad band so that I can use it in Europe and China. Everything that I have read about the 8800 series does not mention international usage. Does anyone know which 8800 models are quad band?
Second, I've had T-Mobile as my provider for years and while their partners overseas provide decent reception and service, their reception quality here in California has deteriorated to the point where I cannot stand to use them on a daily basis anymore. Granted that that T-Mobile is cheap and their full data plans attractive but they are giving back what I pay for. Any recommendations for a better provider with better reception in CA and exceptional international service would also be appreciated.

Desktop Manager doesn't recognize blackberry 8800 series

Hi. I have a blackberry 8800 series and it is having trouble being recognized by the blackberry desktop manager plugged in via the USB cable.
The blackberry desktop manager is version 4.6. It's running on a Windows XP laptop. The account has full administrative access to the laptop.
If you look at the Windows device manager you'll see the blackberry listed.
When you open the blackberry device manager the blackberry PIN is seen for a brief time then it is gone and you see "none".
There is one funny thing that happens. When you originally plug the blackberry in and then turn on the Device Manager, I see a quick install screen come up. That screen goes away quickly.
I've done a clean uninstall of the software. Reinstalled. Taken the battery out and put it back in. Placed the blackberry USB cable in every port still no dice.
I've seen numerous posts on the Internet and on this board with similar issue but, none really solved.
Has anyone seen this strange installation window come up?

I believe that the most recent updates are on the laptop but, I'll check again. I'm nervous that this is an issue with the laptop. It's an older Sony Vaio and may not be able to handle the 8800 series. I looked on Sony's website and updated the Vaio with the most current firmware

8800 Series IP Phone - Hunt Group

We are considering migrating from 7900 series phone to the 8800. On our current devices when a user is not logged into a hunt group it is displayed on the screen. With the 8800 we noticed the only way to tell your current status is to press the hunt group button. Is there anyway to bring back the notification for when a user is not logged in?

Bring back the W700 series!!!

I am a very happy owner of the Lenovo W701ds workstation laptop. So happy that it pains me that I should not be able to upgrade my machine with any similar model by Lenovo in the future. I need the large, at least 17 in screen and I need to be able to drive another 2560x1600 external monitor. I understand that Lenovo discontinued the W7** series for good. Does anybody know of any petition or any way to plead with Lenovo to reconsider?

I fear that won't happen. The 17" Thinkpads were an ambitious project form Lenovo, but it appears that sales didn't met expectations, and could no longer justify further uphold of the series. The total number of power users who need that kind of extensive storage options and graphics power is obviously too small. The fact that especially the W701 is almost immediately sold out when (rarely) showing up in Lenovo Outlet or eBay, does obviously not reflect general demand.
I'm personally very satisfied with my W700 and W701 and hope they will last for a along time. I wouldn't neglect a decent refresh though: Ivy Bridge, mSATA, a premium display and maybe more flexible video options (Geforce and Quadro) would be just great.

Is the 8800 a dud and should I return it ?

Hey guys, I bought a GeForce 8800 a couple of days ago, having never heard of the ATI HD3870. I use to be a PC user and simply went with my old instinct of "You want the best for 3D graphics you go with NVidia." (As I do 3D animation)
Only I never imagined that Apple would have horrendous drivers for the card. Now I'm stuck with a card that adds no performance increase to my 3D application compared to my old ATI XT1900 ?!
Should I keep it, hoping Apple gets their act together and update the drivers soon or should I just get the HD3870? I can't imagine how ticked off buyers of a new Mac Pro must have felt, I just bought a new card, but someone that bought a complete system with the card, seeing such bad performance, must have been steaming mad?!
As there been sign of a fix in sight? If they fixed it, then the 8800 should be faster than even a HD3870. While now it's barely able to stand up to the HD2600 ?!

All LCDs have to run at native resolution to get a sharp picture. That is not a fault of the graphics card.
He is very correct on that statement.
CRTs can look sharp at multiple res because of their design.
LCD panels have a fixed resolution for exactly how many pixels there are.
I too was somewhat disappointed by the performance of the 8800GT.
I was a home built Windows based PC owner until the Mac Pro.
Coming from a 7600GTOC there wasn't as significant of an improvement as I was expecting.
With that said I don't regret getting the 8800GT as it was the clear winner of the possible cards.

8800 series - turns off when barely bumped

I have had my 8800 series BB for over a year and if I barely bump it, the phone turns off. Sometimes it will turn back on and other times I have to pop out the battery to get it to come back on. Anyone else have this issue and if so, what did you do about it?

Remove the OS altogether, then reload with latest for your carrier.

Radeon HD 6570M and the DV7tQE Series Question

Does the graphics card in the dv7tqe series (click here for link) use DDR3 or GDDR5 memory?
I understand the HD 6570M is capable of using either DDR3 or GDDR5 memory, but I want to know which of the two is actually being used in this series of laptops. Some sources say DDR3 and others say GDDR5 and I can't find a straight answer.

What is the GarageBand version that your friend is using?
If it is GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5, you can buy GarageBand '11 as a boxed retail version with the iLIfe '11 bundle, e.g. from Amazon.
Then you can upgrade GarageBand '11 to 6.0.5, using this upgrader from the Support page:

GarageBand 6.0.5 will work well with your system. But if your friend is using the newest GarageBand 10, this will not help. Then ask your friend to send you audio files for each track, so you can recreate the project from the audio. Or your friend could also use GarageBand '11 for the projects you want to share, that will run well in all newer MacOS X versions, even with GarageBand 10.0 installed on the same system.

You may be mixing up two entirely different Adobe products.
1. Adobe Flash Player. Needed to view web pages designed with Flash. Not needed to view PDF files. Not available for Android (not just Sony).
2. Adobe Reader. Reads PDF files. However, the Android can also read most PDF files without needing Adobe Reader.

How can I re-dowload the TV series that I already bought?

I 've lost the half of a TV series (I don't konw how), and I'm trying to dowload it.
I tried to do as if I wanted to buy one episode and, itunes store says: "you had already bought it, if you buy it a second time you'll risk to get it two times, if you don't have on your Itunes lybrary go to store>search for available downloads" Ones I tried wath it said, itunes store say:"you don't have any download available". And luckly on the home page of the itunes store I saw "purchases" but there was only music, apps, and books, but any film or TV series.

How was that PDF file created? Please see Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and form... | Adobe Community
It could be that the PDF file you're converting was created using a third-party application, and it doesn't contain all the information necessary to ensure a clean conversion. Have you had similar troubles converting other PDF files?
