Idle url 7970 display

I am using CCM 4.1.3 and deploying a background image for the 7970 phones.
I have the image displayed properly BUT at the botton of the 7970 screen, the last two lines are “Select Service…” and the bottom line is Update and Exit Buttons.
I need it to go back to Redial/New Call/CfwdAll buttons.
Can it do this with the idle url?
Please Help

Hi Neil,
This should get you started;
In the Idle field, enter the path http://IP_address_of_CallManager/CCMCIP/filename.xml.
Idle URL
URL of an XML service that the phone displays when the phone has not been used for the time specified in the Idle URL Time option. For example, you could use the Idle URL option and the Idle URL Timer option to display a stock quote or a calendar on the LCD screen when the phone has not been used for 5 minutes.
Idle URL Time
Number of seconds that the phone has not been used and no feature menu is open before the XML service specified in the Idle URL option is activated.
From this doc;
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_administration_guide_chapter09186a00801d66b9.html#wp1091533
The Idle URL can be configured with one of these two methods:
Method 1:
Choose System > Enterprise Parameters so that the change is propagated to all of the phones from the Cisco CallManager Administration page.
In the URL Idle field, enter http://IP_address_of_CallManager/CCMCIP/filename.xml.
In the URL Idle Time field, enter any positive value in seconds.
The image appears on the window of the IP phone after the specified seconds, either after boot up or after it is idle for that long.
Update the settings and reset the IP phones.
Method 2:
Choose Device > Phone under the Cisco IP Phone configuration so that only this phone displays the graphics from the Cisco CallManager Administrator page.
Choose the phone on which you want to put the display.
In the Idle field, enter the path http://IP_address_of_CallManager/CCMCIP/filename.xml.
In the Idle Timer field, enter any positive value in seconds.
The image appears on the window of the IP phone after the specified seconds, either after boot up or after it is idle for that long.
Update the settings and reset the Cisco IP Phone.
Note: The pixels on the Cisco IP Phone are larger in size than those on a PC. Therefore, some of the pictures do not have a good resolution. The phone is not designed to emulate a web page.
Note: You can use the Idle URL in order to display distribution information such as weather forecast on the IP Phone LCD screen. From the CallManager administration window, choose System > Enterprise Parameters, then populate the fields URL Idle and URL Idle Time with the file which contains the information to be displayed and the idle time during which the information is displayed respectively. The file type that you populate in the URL Idle Parameter can be a script (.asp), or an XML file. When the phone is idle for the time specified in the URL Idle Time Parameter, the IP phone does an HTTP GET for the URL that you put in the URL Idle field.

  • 7911 - Idle URL file format

    Hello,
I've been able insert custom background for the user to choose, in 7911 (Cisco Call Manager 5.1.2).
I would like too to use Idle URL Option, but i dont know how to do it (ive been able to put idle url background with sdk in 7940-60-70 series, but it is not working with 7911, giving me always XML Error(5)).
    Can you help me please?

    Hi Met,
    Here is the format for the 7911;
    List.xml Example
    FTP:Desktops/95x34x1/TN-Mountain.png"
    URL="TFTP:Desktops/95x34x1/Mountain.png" />
    FTP:Desktops/95x34x1/TN-Ocean.png"
    URL="TFTP:Desktops/95x34x1/Ocean.png" />
The PNG files for background images must meet the following requirements for proper display on the Cisco Unified IP Phone:
Full size image-95 pixels (width) X 34 pixels (height).
Thumbnail image-23 pixels (width) X 8 pixels (height).
Color palette-For best results, set to monochrome (1-bit) when you create a PNG file.
(Cisco Unified IP Phone 7906G and 7911G)

  • Creating Idle URL

I am looking for a template to create an Idle URL what will automatically flip between several screens of data. I have read the doc on creating the Idle URL with a logo, but I need to create one that will rotate between several displays.
    Thanks

Hi, have set one that updates every 20 seconds between 7 different pages. Found the details at the following location: http://www.ccmstuff.org/service.htm and used the Enterprise file as the basis to create new format. Hope this helps.

  • Idle URL on 7912's

Any body know if the 7912 supports an Idle URL?
I have an ASP page using a <CiscoIPPhoneIconMenu> tag that works on 7960's and 7940's but nothing on a 7912.
The 7912 displays the ASP page correctly if I call it manually.
    Many thanks.
    Chris

I entered a TAC item for this way back and was told that it is not supported on 7912/7905.
Also seems undocumented, they said they would fix that..

  • IDLE URL on CCM 5.0

    Hi all
Do you know how to get my .xml file into CCM 5.0 to get it dispayed as IDLE URL? It was working back in 4.1(3).
    How can acomplish this?
Thanks in advance for any help

    Hi Javier,
    Perhaps this is what you are looking for;
    Uploading TFTP Server Files
You can use the Upload TFTP Server File option to upload various files for use by the phones to the server. Files that you can upload include custom phone rings, callback tones, and backgrounds. This option uploads files only to the specific server to which you connected, and other nodes in the cluster do not get upgraded.
To upload TFTP server files, follow this procedure:
    Procedure
Step 1 From the Cisco Unified Communications Platform Administration window, navigate to Software Upgrades>Upload TFTP Server File.
The Upload TFTP Server File window displays and shows a listing of the current uploaded files.
Step 2 To upload a file, click Browse and then choose the file that you want to upload.
Step 3 To start the upload, click Upload File.
The Status area indicates when the file gets uploaded successfully.
Note If you want to modify a file that is already in the TFTP directory, you can use the CLI command file list tftp to see the files in the TFTP directory and file get tftp to get a copy of a file in the TFTP directory.

You can directly call you .jsp file, http://<host>:<domain>:<port>/<jsp report path>?userid=<if your report requires userid>/<pwd>

  • AP Approval Notification - URL not displayed correctly

    Hi,
we are working in R12 on the AP Invoice Notification for approval. We are displaying all invoice details and the customer had an URL displayed correctly in the notification in R11. The URL is pointing to an Scan of the actual Invoice.
In R12 we are not able to te get the URL correctly displayed on the notification. Since the URL is pointing to an picture (in TIF format), the notification tries to embed the picture. We would like to display the URL.
Any suggestions how to get this done?
    Thx Roel.

    We found the solution.
We added the string 'LNK:' right before the URL and this worked.

  • Idle url

Is there any way to change the idle url on the 7940 phones? I am using call manager v. 3.2 (2c)
    Thanks!
    Mary

You can adjust that in Enterprise Parameters (go to the CCMAdmin webpage, System Menu, Enterprise Parameters). Set URL Idle to the appropriate URL, and URL Idle Time to how long the phone needs to be idle until the Idle URL is invoked.

  • IDLE URL in 8941 doesn't accept more than one parameter

    Hello,
I created a service that start on idle url.
    Example of the URL
    http://callmanager/service.php?a=11&b=22&c=33
The problem is: in the 7941 phone model works, but in the 8941 phone model doesn't works.
In the 8941 model the XML service can get only the first parameter a=11, and ignores the b=22 and c=33.
In the 7941 model the XML service can get all parameters correctly.
    Someone knows about this problem?
    Thanks,

  • Phone Idle URL & XML/ASP config - CCME

    To anybody that might know:
I am trying to configure the idle URL on my Call Manager Express. I keep getting the services login screen on my phones.
Do I serve up the xml doc or include it in an ASP page? Can I upload it to the router itself?
I have no idea how to do this, any help would be appreciated.
    Ben

    Try:
    (config)#telephony-service
    url idle url idle-timeout seconds

  • Creating IDL URL

Please help with creating IDLE URL on trixbox/sip

So instead of CallManager, you are running as asterisk based call processing engine? In CCM, Idle Url can be changed at the enterprise level or at the phone level. So I imagine, in trixbox, it would be where the phone gets it's initial configuration options. For example, in CCM simulator, you can setup the default phone configs including authentication and idle url.

  • Rotating Phone Idle URL

I am looking to create a IDLE URL that rotates between news, weather, traffic, etc... I am using rss2cisco (http://dontpokebadgers.com/RSS2Cisco/) to get the info. I have a service setup using CiscoIPPhoneMenu and using the inputs to pull the right url for each item (weather, traffic, news), but I'm not sure how to create the idle xml page that will pull the URL directly instead of taking me to the CiscoIPPhoneMenu and making me choose which one to view.

    Try:
    (config)#telephony-service
    url idle url idle-timeout seconds
    Example:
    Router(config-telephony-service)# url idle
    This URL should help you:
