IDM 8.0 - Installing/Configuring PasswordSync on Windows DC
The admin guide describes how to install PasswordSync on the domain controllers through an msi for installing and an exe for configuring. Is there an automated way of performing these steps?
Thank you in advance

Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc?
Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc(Which is also sap server with same version and same DB)?
I have tried to configure using help from previous post in SCN ( SAP MMC in one server to control the entrie landscape ) but it is not working... As picture shown below after entering the details am clicking on add but nothing is happening...
Scenario is I have installed 4 VM's with SAP installed in all (out of it 3 linux and 1 windows) & all communicating well and they are in same Network/Landscape & I can configure/manage/logon all servers in host GUI... But If I shutdown my VM or a Laptop... Every time I have to start all the servers... by starting lsnrctl, DB, sap for all the servers,
Is there any chance to configure sap in windows sapmmc...???
Kindly suggest the process step by step...
Thanks in advance...Hi Yüksel
Thank you for the reply It helped me to configure but i struck in some place.. Dispatcher is getting stopped... I tried to add 3 different sap servers in sapmmc and tried to start.. Three are getting same errors(Guess same error)
After your suggestion i was able to configure and start SIDadm of host but immediately or after 30sec Dispatcher gets stopped tried to find out some solutions but didnt worked... But i was able to start from there servers manually in linux way startsap, but not in SAPMMC way...
Could you or please help me in solving trace given below...

How to install/Configure/Use VT to detect Malware/Unwanted programs in Windows?

Hetti Arachchige V Aravinda | Network & System Administrator (B.Sc, Microsoft Small Business Specialist, MCP, MCTS, MCSA, MCSE,MCITP, CCNA, CEH, MBCS)That is interesting. Normally a bootmgr error message means that the boot loader is corrupt and hard disk not "dead".. Replacing the hard drive is a quickie shotgun method of resolving the issue.
Did you give up on the SSD?
The desktop ( w/ASUS Crossfire V Formula-Z mobo) I am using to type this, has the same SSD that you asked about. I used the method I described in the earlier post to clone the OS to the SSD. The SSD is the boot drive.

How would i install and configure HS on windows?
Hello,
I would like to explore more about installing and configuring HS on windows box (64-bit).
I have two questions.
1)Is there OD4ODBC software avaliable for 64-bit windows? if not 32 - bit software works with 64-bit windows OS and 11G Database which is also 64-bit?
2)can some provide me more steps to configure it, if it's possible.
3) is there any other way to connect ro MS SqlServer from Oracle other than using ODBC/Gateways?
Thanks,
Steve.For 64bit Windows you need to have a 64bit DG4ODBC - DG4ODBC 64bit for Windows was first released with 11.2.
1)Is there OD4ODBC software avaliable for 64-bit windows? if not 32 - bit software works with 64-bit windows OS and 11G Database which is also 64-bit?
=> No - only 64bit DG4ODBC is supported - so please use DG4ODBC 11.2
2)can some provide me more steps to configure it, if it's possible.
Please have a look at this note: How to Configure DG4ODBC (Oracle Database Gateway for ODBC) on 64bit Windows Operating Systems to Connect to Non-Oracle Databases Post Install [Document 1266572.1]
which is available through My Oracle Support portal.
3) is there any other way to connect ro MS SqlServer from Oracle other than using ODBC/Gateways? The easiest way is a gateway, but you could use a JDBC driver and load the MS SQL Server JDBC driver into the JVM of the Oracle database, then code the connection. -
Installing OIM 11g on windows XP
I am a complete newbie to OIM.
Is there a document available for installing OIM 11g on windows XP?
Also can we use sunone directory server as the LDAP server with OIM?
-ArnoldThanks a lot.
That was really helpful.
Need bit of help on Oracle Identity manager (IDM). We have installed IDM on windows and when we wanted to configure domain and configure the managed server instances (in weblogic server) by clicking config.bat from common/bin, we were not able to see the Identity manager instance in the list. What could be the reason?
Should IDM be part of same domain as webcenter spaces? When we were trying to work with sapces it was expecting oracle identity server to be running.
When installing the identity manager it was asking oracle home. Does that mean oracle db has to reside on the machine where IDM is installed? Could be this be affecting the IDM instance not appearing in the list?

Issue with installing password sync on Windows 2008
I have installed pwd sync 64 bit on Windows 2008. Configured it in direct mode (no jms). But when I change the password of a user it is not syncing with the IdM. We have the 32 bit pwd sync working fine on Win 2003. Is there any special steps for installing, configuring 64 bit pwd sync on Win 2008. Thanks. Jack
Hi again Tim-
Given the error "failed to crack URL" I believe you're hitting an issue we have documented as bug # 21999. Here's the jist of it and a possible way around it.
==========
When installing password sync on a Windows 2008 system, if you are not
logged in as 'Administrator', the installer and the configure applications
may be subject to Windows File And Registry Virtualization (FARV). This may
cause the registry entries for password sync to be written to the user portion
of the registry, rather than the system portion. Subsequently, password sync
will fail with the message "failed to crack URL".
To work around FARV, either run the MSI installer from a privileged cmd.exe
prompt, or run the configure.exe application using the "Run As Administrator"
functionality (right-click on the configure.exe application, select "Run As
Administrator").
==========
Hope this helps.

"SQL> startup nomount pfile="C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\XP10G\scripts\initXP10G.ora";"
I always had:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-02248: invalid option for ALTER SESSION
I tried to change some memory value in the init*.ora without more success.
So if anyone has been had such issue; he would be an help for me.

Error while installing "Identity Synchronization for Windows"
Hello All,
I am in the middle of installing Identity Synchronization for Windows and I am running into a probelm.
After I gave the ldap address of the Java Directory server, (which is installed in the same machine that I am installing ISW on), then I specified the "Configuration Root Suffix" , and then I gave the "cn=Directory Manager" credentials, It returns an error saying...
The selected Directory Server is not a configuration
directory server. You must select a directory server that
has "o=netscaperoot". Please note that merely adding the
+"o=netscaperoot" entry will not suffice.+
I am running Solaris 10 (SPARC) on a T2000, and I downloaded the latest version of "Sun Java System Directory Server Enterprise Edition" (6.2 I think it is...is there a way to find out?) and I downloaded ISW (1.1 SP1) from Sun.com...
Anyone else had this problem? Any solutions? Thanks.
-CThat was that !

Unable to Install Photoshop CS5 on Windows 8
I'm unable to install Photoshop CS5 on Windows 8. A copy of the installation log is listed below. The first time I tried installing, I had Norton 360 enabled, right-clicked the DVD-ROM drive and selected to execute the installer. It failed at about 5%. Then, I uninstalled Photoshop CS5 and uninstalled Adobe AIR, disabled Norton 360, ran the Creative Suite Cleanup Tool, and then rebooted back into Safe Mode. This time, I browsed the DVD-ROM drive, right-clicked on the set-up.exe file and selected Run As Administrator. Same thing as before. It failed at 5%. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Unable to install Boot Camp and Windows 8.1 on Mac Mini
Hello,
My computer is a late 2012 mac mini with fusion drive. OS is OSX 10.9.1. Also an apple external optical drive and a Windows 8.1 full install DVD. I attempted to install Boot Camp and Windows 8.1 and failed.
I ran Boot Camp Assistant and first problem was when it rebooted the computer - I got a text message that said the OS was missing. After a while I tried holding down the Option key while rebooting, then I got several choices to boot from - I chose the windows disk, and windows installation started.
I was eventually given a list of 6 or 7 partitions to chose from, to install windows into. I settled on the one marked BOOTCAMP. It seemed the best guess. But the installer said that it could not install on this partition. Something about the wrong format or EFI or boot partition(s)?? In fact, the installer would not let me install into any of the listed partitions.
I restarted Boot Camp and it allowed me to remove the boot camp partition and revert to OSX only. Thanks for that!
My questions: is Windows 8.1 supported with my configuration? I know the FAQ says it is not. If in fact it is, did I do something wrong?
Thanks,
DougPoking around, I found an installation manual which was downloaded to my USB drive with the boot camp windows drivers. It says that when I reached the point in the windows installer where I'm given a choice of partitions, I should choose the one marked BOOTCAMP, and format it. Which I didn't think to try before. So I tried again, using Boot Camp Assistant from the top.
Failure again. This time, when the computer rebooted, I selected the Windows icon as before, but I got a text message saying that the boot manager couldn't be found, and a dead stop.
I also found that on the option-key reboot disk selection screen, I could eject the windows install disk and reinsert it. When I did that, I got the Windows boot icon and another icon labeled EFI boot. So I also tried that icon, with the same result.
So, I'm doing exactly what I did before (I think), but now the windows installer won't start. -
How to install SOA 10g on Windows 7 64-bit platform?
Hi Friends
How to install SOA 10g on Windows 7 64-bit platform ?
I've downloaded the 64-bit version downloadable from OTN and able to run the irca.bat on DB 10.2.0.3 however the SOA Installer fails at BPEL Config Assistant step with errors :

This is typically the result of an invalid deployer URI format being supplied, the target server not being in a started state or incorrect authentication details being supplied.
More information is available by enabling logging -- please see the Oracle Containers for J2EE Configuration and Administration Guide for details.Hi,
We know now why SOA Installer fails...
Now we need to know why you can not start OC4J properly. What do you see in the log files?

Install sharepoint 2010 on windows 8.1 enterprise
I would like to install sharepoint server 2010 on windows 8.1 enterprise without Hyper-V as the organization policy does not allow us to user Hyper-V. At the end of the installation while sharepoint configuration wizard is running, it thre a "Configuration
Failed" exception. Failed to create configuration database as shown below. Kindly help. The instructions for installing SharePoint 2010 on Windows 8 are pretty much the same as they were on Windows 7 x64. You do still need to make sure you create the custom config file to do the install. You can find a full set of instructions
to install on Windows 7 on my blog here:
http://www.dontpapanic.com/blog/?p=96
The one additional thing you need to do is make sure that when you install IIS you are using ASP.net 2.0 instead of ASP.Net 4.0. Windows 8 will default to 4.0. You can read more about that here:
http://johnlivingstontech.blogspot.com/2011/09/installing-sharepoint-2010-on-windows-8.html
I should however point out that although you can install SharePoint 2010 on Windows 8 its not really a supported platform and even on Windows 7 its only supported as a Dev environment. Its never been supported for any kind of production usage.
