IDM quick start - developing basic login

Hi,
I am looking for a guide from where i can do a quick start for IDM. I want to create a basic login which will be integrating ther logins screens. Or something like that through which i can show some basic SSO functionalities.
I am searching online and i found a quick start here .. http://www.oracle.com/us/products/consulting/resource-library/idm-quick-start-idm-069790.pdf but they are asking to ask consulting service.
Is there any tutorial or something i can start with. Thanks,

Thanks. I have installed Oracle DB, WebLogic Server and then IDM 11 with all defualt options except "Virtual Directory". Now, I am not sure if Oracle Internet Directory has been installed or not.
The tutorial which is referred to me above is little confusing. In the guide, it is listed You can refer to the Oracle Internet Directory 10g (10.1.4.0.1) installation guide from here. as pre-requisit for the tutorial. however, when i click on it, it is directing me to Oracle Application Server Installation Guide. is it right or the tutorial is old and referring to wrong links?
I would really appreciate if You guys can help me in getting started with IDM creating a simple Single Sign on app.

Source Safe causing LabVIEW Quick Start Screen to not appear after closing open vi windows?

Hey All,
We've recently implemented Source Safe version control for LabVIEW on XP and I've noticed that LabVIEW is hanging between closing open vi windows and showing the Quick Start Screen. The usual pattern is for the Quick Start window to appear after the last open vi window is closed. Instead the vi window is closed, the tab at the bottom of the screen says debug development and the Quick Start Screen does not appear, the tab does not read "Getting Started."
I think it is a LabVIEW <--> Source Safe issue when I do a Task Manager Exit on the LabVIEW process that I sometimes see a dialog box asking if I want to save changes in memory to disc and those files are not checked out. But it is too late at that point to do anything as XP clobbers the application before I can do anything.
Anyone else have this issue?

What is needed in a Mac Pro to start developing APPs?

I am looking for information on what Mac Pro (processor speed, memory, and storage capacity) is needed to start developing APPs. In addition, I would like my Mac Pro be viable for the next three years as I learn how to use the system to build APPs and learn basic applications to build APPs as I anticipating changes in the iOS system and programs like Mountain Lion that could use more memory and storage capacity. I am beginning this journey and like to know what system would best fit my needs as Apple continues to progress in their technologies. What should I get in a Mac Pro with 8GB or 16GB, i5 or i7 processor, 256GB or 512GB storage, and 13 in. 2.8GHz or 15 in. 2.5 GHz?

You could buy a new MacBook Air every two years and still come out ahead of what a base Mac Pro costs.
A Mac Pro is not going to go out of style in 4 years.
laptops or their parts are not upgradeable and do tend to fail a bit more. And some of those systems limit you to 16GB RAM but they do have (slower) M.2 SSDs (400 or 700MB/sec vs 1200-1400MB/sec) SSD blades.
If you want to run lots of code and VMs then maybe by accident you are in the right place

Tomcat Quick Start?

I would like to set up a java Servlet training & development environment on my home computer which is an MS/Windows 2003 Server edition running IIS. I only have one, MS Front Page web page up and I'm willing to scrap that because I don't have much invested in that and I can easily redo it. I'm using the current releases of Java J2SE, J2EE, and Win/2003. I want to use the current version of Tomcat.
I have Java up and running; I want to 'quick start' the Tomcat installation so I have something to look at as I work my way through its documentation while multi-tasking myself with my Servlet studies.
My questions are:
1 Are there functional and/or performance issues between running tomcat as a server or as an IIS plugin in my target environment? I don't mind going either way for now. I just don't want to be struggeling with tools while I'm learning Servlets.
2. Specifically, which Tomcat down load file should I use? The descriptions on the download page are a bit cryptic for a Tomcat newbe like me.
3. In the event that I'm off topic with this, is there a Tomcat forum as good as this one where I should be directing these questions?

1) Test environment? No... except that you'd be running as a server vs as an IIS plugin.
The difference is that IIS would handle all the contents of a site except the JSP/servlet stuff, whereas Tomcat standalone would do all that. For the most part it doesn't matter, unless your site needs to take advantage of some special IIS features.
For the purposes of learning JSP/servlets, I would stick with Tomcat standalone, because the IIS part has nothing to do with it. You can worry about deployment on IIS, or Apache or other servers later.
2) Not sure what you mean.
3) There's a mailing list for Tomcat, I think.

Quick start guide for WL Portal 10.0 required

Hi all,
I am new to BEA WebLogic Portal but have a lot of experience on open-source portal frameworks. After downloaded a copy of the latest 10.0 version I want to have a try how it looks like. What I want is a quick start guide which will answer the following two questions.
1) I think there is an example portal installed with a full installation of WL Portal 10.0, how to start up the server and access the url?
- Start up script seems to be $WL_HOME/samples/domains/portal/startWebLogic.sh
2) A quick start guide is required to demonstrate how to deploy a JSR 168 portlet inside WL Portal.

i havent used 10.0 but if you check the logs/system.out it should print out which ip and port the server is listening on when it starts up and using that login to the console or u can check the config files for the ip/port(ip:port/console) and weblogic/weblogic and you should be able to find out from your deployed ear and its descriptors what the url to access the app is
I assume your not using windows because then there is an entry in your program files.

Guide a rookie to start developing apps.

Hello everyone
Since I bought my first iPhone, 4 years ago I loved to develope iOS application. but the problem was: I had no understanding of any programming language. better to say that I still don't have any programming knowledge. I asked many people what programming language should I start with, some said "Objective-C" some said if u want to understand Objective-C u should first learn "C" or "C++" some said knowing java helps , and so on.
well they actually did nothing other than confusing. also there are alot of websites that say different thing about how to develp apps that confused me even more. So now I came to you to help me
Let me make my question clear I'm a medical student who has no understanding of any programming language and I don't have time and energy to learn 4 programming languages at the same time but I'm certain to learning one programming language in order to turn my ideas into applications!

You can start here Start Developing iOS Apps Today and then look through the rest of the Apple IOS Developer site. You might need to get a Developer account for this. The free account is fine for now, if you got more involved you would have to join the IOS Developer program.
But to be honest trying to do this on you own, especially with no prior experience, is going to be very difficult. If you are in school now you might want to check and see if there are any basic computer courses given.

GeneratePDFService quick start code issue

I am getting a build error, while using quick start code for converting the native document into PDF document through webservice api.
error: The type or namespace TestPDFG8WS couldn't found
In the quickstart code, it is using TestPDFG8WS as namespace as you can see below a line of code.
using TestPDFG8WS.GeneratePDFService;
Any idea, what reference we have to add to fix the issue ?.

Can I customize my quick start?

Hey everyone, I got a S10-2 and love the quick start functionality. I just have 2 little questions.
Can I add a software I use called Roboform to the splashtop browser? I need it because I have like 100 passwords for many sites I frequent.
Next can I add a new icon for videos? I want to watch videos obviously and having a quick start icon for my vids would be awesome.

Why they never put a movie application I have no idea... I mean all you need is a basic free source movie software and that would run on the movies I installed in my video folders.
But overall the quickstart function is awesome and it's a big time saver for sure!
Well, well boy. That's what it should be. As far as I can say, the guys responsible for lenovos Splashtop flavour are lightyears behind. Asus for example sports viewing PDF and all important media by default, which is a must have and what is even more important, they update their "QuickStart" which is called ExpressGate periodically to provide security fixes. Especially the browser would deserve decent updates from time to time, because security wise it is the weakest part.
To depend on hacks like those provided by netham45 is a shame. It's up to you to trust someone outside lenovo, but: Isn't it the duty of lenovo to supply the community of paying customers with updates and improvements?
Just by having a look at the most recent released version of Quickstart it seems obviously of no importance for lenovo to take care about updates. It seems to me just like a marketing joke., in order to pretend YES! We have it...

hi,
I was looking at connectedUser info shown in top right corner and since it was not there (I set devMode in userInfo bean to false in order to prevent any login if wrong credentials) I (wrongly) assumed unauthenticated user accessed protected pages.
In my example I added Welcome and error40x pages to the application based on SRDemo. If the user enters wrong credentials in Login page he is dispatched to error401.jspx page.
On this page there is a link to index.jspx. By clicking on this link user is presented again with Login page but a message "Invalid username and password" is shown as well, probably caused by previous attempt.
If the user now enters correct credentials he is presented with Welcome page but currently connectedUser is not shown in top right corner (although user is apparently authenticated by container). It seems that Welcome backing bean which checks the role when user clicks the Start button is not invoked at all and the user stays at the same Welcome page although he is authorized to access the page corresponding to his role.
In order to get back to normal flow user have to logout first and only then he is presented with clean Login page and after that correct Welcome page showing currently connectedUser.
So my question is how to get back to "normal login flow" once the user is dispatched to error401.jspx page and he clicks the link to index.jspx or he clicks the Back button on the browser to go back to Login page?
