IdMgr 7.1 - 8.1 Upgrade; Release Note Clarification

re: Upgrade path table on page 24
Identity Manager 6.0 reflects 7.0 | 7.1 | 7.1>7.1 Update 1 | 7.1>8.0 | 7.1>8.1
Identity Manager 7.1 reflects 7.1 Update 1 | 8.0 | 8.1
I am interpreting this to read that an upgrade from 7.1 > 8.1 is supported.
My questions:
Is an upgrade from 7.1 to 8.1 supported?
What is the purpose of the ">" sign for the lines relating to 6.0 and 7.0 upgrade paths?
Thank you,
Brian

Hi Brian,
While 7.1 to 8.1 is supported, you will want to look out for items like database update scripts for example in 8.1, be sure to look for the ones that state
from upgradeto81from71.oracle (i.e. to 8.1 from). The > indicates too. Run one finger from your left hand on the Current Identity Manager Version, then one finger from the right on the Target Identity Manager Version
So if one was going from IDM 6 to 8.1, the would got to 7.1 >(then) 8.1
So if one is going from IDM 7.1 to 8.1 the may proceed to 8.1 directly
Please excuse as the formatting may not make it out to the page, like the document.
Target Identity Manager Version
Current Identity Manager Version 7.0 7.1 7.1 Update 1 8.0 8.1
2005Q4M3 (6.0) 7.0 7.1 7.1 > 7.1 Update 1 7.1 > 8.0 7.1 > 8.1
IdentityManager 7.0 7.1 7.1 > 7.1 Update 1 8.0 8.1
IdentityManager 7.1 7.1 Update 1 8.0 8.1
IdentityManager 7.1.1 8.0 8.1
IdentityManager 8.0 8.1

  • Upgrade release note doubt

    Hi,
I have a doubt in refering the release notes. We are doing technical upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 (Enhancement Pack 3). DO we need to refer all the release notes from 4.7 till ECC SP1, SP2, and SP3 etc to get to know the delta changes? Or refering release note of ECC 6.0 EP3 is enough?
Please let me know. Points will be rewarded
    Thanks,

    Thanks somar.
I have one query. What is the role of functional consultant in technical upgrade? Please let me know.

  • Cat 4000 Sup 1 and 2 rommon upgrade release notes?

I'm trying to find the release notes for the Cat 4000 sup 2 rommon upgrades. I've looked all over CCO but haven't been able to find them. In the release notes for CatOS 8.x, 7.x etc it tells you HOW to upgrade the rommon, but it doesn't tell you WHAT it does.
I've done the 6500 sup and msfcs before and they had release notes.
These are the ones I'm looking for:
    6.1.5
    6.1.4
    5.5.5

check the following link for upgrading the rommon for Catalyst 4000 switches :

  • Firmware Release Notes

My company has just received a number of new BB 9300's and I've noticed that the firmware isn't up to date on them.  So I've downloaded and installed the latest firmware (977), but can't find any release notes to say what's been fixed/improved.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Regards, AStaley.

It is extremely rare that OS upgrade release notes are even leaked to the public, and most often only the carriers themselves are given any release notes.
So, no, there is no where to point you to. Your best bet is read other users' experience with the release version you intend to upgrade, check forums like Blackberryforums.com and Crackberry for threads whith more information.
    Good luck.

  • The current iTunes 10.5 upgrade does not install on Windows 7 and indicates a faulty install package (error 2324). Advice or details on the release date for a proper fix?

The current iTunes 10.5 upgrade does not install on Windows 7 and indicates a faulty install package (error 2324). Advice or details on the release date for a proper fix? I'm not able to roll back to the prior version, so I'm stuck in limbo.

There have been a number of problems with installing the latest iTunes on Windows 7 64-bit machines during the last couple of weeks.  You might want to do a search on that topic and see if anyone has a solution.  There have been various versions of the problem but a lot related to errors in the download package or failure to download.

No, you're not entitled to a new MacBook.  If I wanted the newest one, I'd sell the one I just bought and buy a new one.

  • AC 5.3 Release Note Inquiry - Is it included in an Support Pack for AC5.2??

    Hi Everyone,
In release v.5.3 release notes, SAP noted that the logical validation of "not to allow approvers to approve their request" has been added.
Does anyone know if this functionality was included in a Support Pack for v.5.2 version?  Or would we have to upgrade to v.5.3 to benefit from this functionality?
    Thanks,
    Jerri,

    Jerri-
Since it was considered an enhancement, it was included in the next release, and not as a SP release for v5.2.

  • Csmars 4.2.6 release notes

I see that version 4.2.6 was released today. I am unable to find any release notes as of yet. Anyone else see them, or am I missing something.
With past history, I don't think I will be applying any upgrades without at least being able to see what Cisco is thinking the new software package will try to correct or improve on.

    they were found.....

  • When will Cisco Prime 2.2 Release Notes be available?

I see that CPI 2.2 has been released. However, there are no release notes. Any sense when the release notes will be available.
Also, will an inline upgrade from CPI 2.1.2 to CPI 2.2 be possible?
    Phil

Yes, no upgrade path available. You need to build fresh 2.2 server & then you can restore a back up taken from previous version (2.1.0.0.87 or 1.4.x)
Refer below for detail steps that involved.

  • Understanding bug ID and release notes documentation

    Hi !
we planned to upgrade IOS switch on some switches, most switches are running 4 to 10 or more IOS release in late in compare to the most recent one.  We would like to upgrade because we had some issue with port flapping and spanning-tree portfast issue with switches.  I find in one release document some element looklike solve some of our problems.
So before upgrading we would like to avoid more issue or different issue which may have bigger impact we had actually, so I read latest release notes of our plate-form to choose the correct release for our need....
I find some bug ID in release notes 12.2(55)SE mark as Resolved and do not find it in 12.2(54)SE or 12.2(53)SE as "open" and some bug open in 12.2(53)SE as open and nothing about those in the next 2 releases (Open or Resolved).
So how can I choose correct release for our need, while also minimised required reading release notes documentation !
    Thanks !

If the bug was discovered after the 12.2(54)SE release notes were published, only the 12.2(55)SE release note will show the fix. The older release notes will not be updated with bugs discovered after the relesae note is "printed."  Only the most current release note has the most current data.
Bugs mentioned in 12.2(53)SE release note SHOULD have a follow up in future release notes, unless engineers determined that the bug was not a bug at all, but an expected behaviour, a customer misconfiguration, or a transient, unreproducable event.
The interactive Bug Tooklit is the best way to tell where a bug applies.  If you plug in the bug ids about which you have questions, you can see a real time picture of the current state of every bug id mentioned in the release notes.

  • Downloaded and installed FF 36.0.3 but there are no release notes so is this a legit install???

So I did the latest FF upgrade (36.0.3) when notified. Then I went to take a look at the release notes in
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/releases/
for 36.0.3 but there are none. So was this a legitimate release without documentation or did I just get snookered into installing rogue software?

    Thank you for your reply.
However in this day and age of malware it is important to dot the "i"s and cross the "t"s so that we have nothing there which looks suspicious.
Remember, it ain't paranoia if they really are out to get you. And they are.
    Thanks

  • Release Notes about psoft 8.49

    Hello everyone,
I would like to know what are the evolution between peopletools 8.48 and 8.49 version ?
    Thanks you for the answer.

    Hi,
From my point of view PeopleTools 8.49 is a must upgrade, if you are in 8.48.
This is because the quantity of critical incidents solved in this release. Just to give you an idea, the release notes document that describes the new functionalities is 40 pages long with introduction and the usual marketing remarks. The document with the resolved incidents is 53 pages long, full of incident numbers from top to bottom. One of the biggest I've seen so far.
The last tools patch is 8.49.06. It was posted last week so I do not know the details yet. But until 8.49.05 there were around 50 fixes more. For more details about the patches you can go to http://www.koiaka.com/en/Blog/index1.html .
The other important topic are the changes in the releases of web servers and tuxedo. This of course add more stability and performance to the architecture. The required Welogic version is 9.2 and Tuxedo 9.1.
But I must say something about this new release. The developers decided to change the path of several things inside of PS_HOME and now some of the wizards for the installations are broken. For instance the database creation wizard no always work and the PeopleBooks installation needs to be finished manually.
For the new things, there is not much. That is why you should upgrade.
    Cheers,
